0:01 all right guys sorry we're live and also well not sorry we're live I'm sorry
0:05 we're late I'm glad we're live and I'm glad we're alive I'm sorry we're talking
0:10 to you today sorry I'm sorry about our
0:13 awesome topics that we're going to get into sorry to disappoint you with all of
0:17 that I think the mic's like pointing directly they're disappointed about the
0:21 and it's really high up they're disappointed about the the the tardiness
0:25 of the show but we're sorry about the good quality show we're sorry that it's
0:30 so good that they have to wait for it to go live even though it's late what the
0:34 hell are you talking about I'm trying to buy you time cuz you're apparently doing
0:38 stuff we are not off to a good start today although we do have something
0:44 pretty cool in store for you guys involving like hand camming and POV at
0:51 all yeah yeah yeah it works I tested it already Okay yeah mind you that doesn't
0:55 necessarily mean it will continue to work because that's often the problem we
0:59 have around here hoay we might go a week without touching anything and come back
1:04 and nothing works Everything's changed which isn't what happened this time
1:08 because we actually changed everything so it shouldn't be surprising that
1:11 nothing works y but we're surprised anyway yeah welcome to the WAN Show guys
1:16 we've got some great topics today Apple's value drops by 28 billions of
1:21 dollars all on account of some leaked
1:25 celebrity nude photos the funniest thing
1:28 about the whole thing you'll find out later because that's how this show Works
1:33 snap also NVIDIA starts a legal battle with Samsung and qualcom at the same
1:38 time just throwing punches all over the place heavyweight battle also
1:43 NVIDIA sorry NVIDIA I love you guys
1:46 inidia but like oh no U also the first
1:49 round of like September's crazy mobile month has begun and we'll talk about
1:53 some of those announcements later on and in other news forchan now has a dmca
1:59 takeown policy it's amazing what a couple of
2:04 celebrity nude photos that get stolen and leak not all the like child porn and
2:11 other crap but celebrity nude photos I mean Jennifer Lawrence is upset
2:17 is she is that whose photos were leaked either her or Garner I can never
2:21 remember I don't know the difference I don't really follow celebrities it's not
2:25 Aniston I know that much she's the one from friends I know I know the internet
2:29 like Jennifer Lawrence but I'm not I think she's The
2:33 Hunger Games one is she yeah I think so
2:37 oh yeah she's all
2:41 right moving on not a show but movies
3:05 I think our volumes are both low I think the volume is just
3:10 low we can see if that helps a little all right guys we've got a couple of
3:14 sponsors today Dollar Shave Club shave time and shave
3:20 money I keep I I get all the credit for this bad pun but it's like in their logo
3:26 it's not my fault yeah don't they say that in their own commercials yes they
3:30 do oh all right and Squarespace 10% off with offer code Linus make your own
3:34 beautiful website on squarespace.com don't worry your website can live
3:39 somewhere else entirely your website doesn't have to be on squarespace.com
3:43 you don't pay them to create content for
3:46 them to put on their website I mean what do you think this is like
3:54 YouTube okay technically we don't pay YouTube directly but they certainly take
3:59 their cut anyway let's move right into our first topic because we are running a
4:03 little bit late and we're very sorry for that you guys you know the usual story
4:08 involving technical difficulties today's was a lot worse than normal though I
4:12 think people have come to be used to like 3 to five minutes yeah no today was
4:16 pretty bad I mean part of the problem is that we're way behind on making videos
4:21 because we've been out of the office and
4:24 uh it was a short week so there was a holiday Monday this week so we had to
4:28 effectively create an entire week's worth of videos in like 3 days so I was
4:33 back here filming a lot of the last little bits and pieces of my upcoming
4:36 HTC 1 M8 for Windows Phone review it is
4:40 a very good thing for HTC that they released that before the flood of new
4:45 products uh you know Note 4 uh Moto 360
4:49 new Moto X before all that stuff started rolling in because otherwise I don't
4:53 think it even would have gotten articles written about it um my video is pretty
4:58 pretty negative I love the phone and I
5:01 mean phone in like a physical like made of molecules
5:05 sense yeah yeah I love the phone the one I made is still great well you could
5:11 argue software is not made of molecules it's made of thoughts and
5:16 dreams ponies thoughts and dreams
5:19 thoughts dreams and ponies that's fantastic minus software tips we should
5:23 just we should just get Barnacles back on the show cuz I clearly have no idea
5:26 what I'm talking about we should replace me permanently
5:30 so like the next time people need to do like an order form for supplies for a
5:34 programming house cuz that exists other than energy drinks they're thoughts
5:38 dreams ponies thought dreams ponies be like well I can't get these two but
5:42 we'll definitely get a good stock of ponies and like uh places like Staples
5:45 they have it set up so that you can have recurring orders so like every month you
5:50 can get four ponies delivered if you want to fix your software you just need
5:53 to like increase the count of thoughts dreams and ponies and the problems with
5:58 some software is they might have too many ponies or too many thoughts and not
6:02 enough dreams it's all about the ratio exactly but the only way to get dreams
6:06 and ponies cuz you can get them both at the same time is actually to import
6:10 8-year-old girls they have dreams about
6:13 ponies that's interesting because a six-year-old girl
6:18 takes up so much less space than a pony this is something that modern software
6:22 developers have not been doing very well that's why Windows is so large on your
6:26 on on your device that you yeah that's right because one 8-year-old girl could
6:30 potentially dream of dozens of ponies y yeah yeah all right so moving on Apple's
6:34 value drops by 26 billion do on account
6:40 of the uh the celebrity nude photo leaks
6:44 so share prices fell by $436 per share
6:47 or 4.2% this is the biggest decline in
6:51 share price since January 28th
6:54 2014 oh yeah January when it dropped by
6:57 619 so it's still up almost $30 since
7:01 January 28th of 2014 so it's not like apple shareholders aren't still getting
7:06 their money's worth out of that particular investment their value is
7:09 still close to $600 billion they're still the most highly valued us company
7:14 in the world there's so many things that are
7:18 like that though like the World Series in the US US love it um and I mean
7:25 honestly I think the most ridiculous thing about all of this is It's all just
7:30 hype yeah this is the scary thing about
7:34 publicly traded companies is how much of how we value them has nothing to do with
7:41 anything yes some nudie pictures were
7:45 obtained illegally amorally just in a super
7:51 crappy you don't steal people's stuff and I was actually really disappointed
7:55 to see even on our own lus Tech tips Forum people discussing how well if you
8:00 don't want nude pictures leaked on the internet then you just shouldn't take
8:04 them and that you have loose morals if you're taking nude pictures you know
8:08 what what do I have loose morals if my wife sees me
8:12 naked like is that how this works
8:15 obviously the picture was intended for a given recipient normally I'd like try to
8:20 be Devil's Advocate but I just no no
8:23 when something is stolen illegally
8:26 that's wrong and yes online sec
8:30 and taking care of the naked pictures of yourself is your responsibility you do
8:36 have to do that because this stuff does happen but that doesn't
8:40 make stuff that's out there that isn't as well protected as something else just
8:45 right for the taking it's still wrong and the kind of victim blaming that was
8:49 going on like I'm not going to get into the whole feminazi thing because I'm
8:53 super not into that whole movement either but I also strongly disagree with
8:58 the amount of victim blaming that's going on here and I mean the whole thing
9:03 has gotten way too much coverage I don't even really like that we're even talking
9:06 about it because I feel like by drawing attention to it you're just turning it
9:10 into a much bigger deal than it is it's a couple nude pictures of some women the
9:15 internet is full of nude pictures of women who did it on purpose who actually
9:22 got paid to create that those nude photos why does it matter if they happen
9:27 to also star in movies and why are we obsessed over this and why is it such a
9:31 big deal let them get on with their lives it's unreal yeah anyway the point
9:35 of all that sorry go ahead sorry uh and
9:39 it wasn't even necessarily Apple's fault that was exactly where I was going so
9:43 yeah uh so like the the Apple spent more
9:46 than 40 hours of Investigation which doesn't sound like a crazy amount that's
9:50 a lot company the size of Apple the number of Engineers they have oh see I
9:55 when I read that I thought about that as like well two people is that's 20 hours
10:00 of man hours for two people like I calculated an overall man hours but I
10:04 think you're probably right no I don't think so yeah I'm pretty I'm pretty sure
10:08 right probably a department for 40 hours that's a lot um anyways to and they
10:13 figured out that it was more using stuff like they were targeting usernames which
10:16 are probably not that hard to get in a lot of situations they're not and then
10:20 using uh common password stuff and security question hacks which is like
10:26 not a hack guessing it yeah guessing it
10:30 or looking it up I mean that's that's the scary thing to me the way that
10:34 security is handled even by companies as large as Apple sometimes where they'll
10:38 lock in what kind of a password you can choose or worse yet lock in the security
10:43 questions you can choose super dope the only safe way to set up a security
10:48 question for yourself guys if it's a predetermined list because especially
10:53 for celebrities that information's out there
10:56 you think someone doesn't you know what
10:59 car you first bought or what elementary school you went to or what what your
11:03 teacher's name was like no that's not that hard to find that crap is out there
11:07 so the way that I actually do it is I have some security answers that have
11:12 nothing to do with the question and I just pick a random question because it
11:15 is extremely dangerous to just use one
11:19 of those things mother's maiden name come on this is a digital age so stupid
11:22 that is very obtainable and so yeah that whole argument exists where people are
11:27 responsible for their own digital security but you know what that's the
11:31 kind of thing that I think nerd [ __ ] say quite frankly because yeah okay
11:36 you're into digital security good for you like that's cool that's your hobby
11:40 that's great some people have other things to do and that's fine maybe they
11:45 make movies maybe they don't sit and
11:49 research digital security best practices on Reddit every night because they're
11:52 reading through scripts to make millions of dollars and you maybe you kind of
11:56 make the argument oh well then perhaps they should have a team of people who
12:00 work for them who manag their digital sec come on be real these are people not
12:05 like Enterprises that exist under them
12:10 so I don't even remember where I was going with that but I'm just I'm Driven
12:14 Crazy by people being upset that someone doesn't know something that they do you
12:18 know what there's a lot of things that he knows that I don't and there's a lot
12:23 of things I know that he doesn't you know I if if he had a baby tomorrow I
12:27 could either be a jackass and be like well you know you you got
12:32 poop on your hands what you didn't know how to you know blind the do the things
12:37 nope not at all I know Jack all about
12:41 taking care of babies that was actually a pretty good analogy cuz I literally
12:44 know nothing I know I know you do so to
12:47 me it's just it's it's so upsetting to see people mocking and see people
12:51 blaming instead of actually trying to be helpful which uh mocking instead of
12:57 trying to be helpful that leads us pretty well into to our next topic doesn't it forchan now has a dmca policy
13:04 following the whole leaked nude photos
13:07 incident this was an article on torrent freak just going to go ahead and screen
13:11 share here uh so basically in the wake of all this forchan finally intros a
13:16 dmca so that's Digital Millennium Copyright Act takeown policy and I don't
13:22 know if the more baffling thing about this is that it exists at all or that if
13:29 it exists at all now it didn't exist before with the massive amounts of a
13:35 leaked nude photos on there in the past of just normal people once again putting
13:40 celebrities on this weird pedestal that
13:43 like there's this weird double standard that exists and and two the amount of
13:48 child porn oh God on forchan I mean forchan no offense to forun but it's one
13:55 of those sites that I avoid just based on principle just you just don't want
14:00 someone to be able to know that you went there I won't I won't hang out there
14:03 it's not even about not wanting people to know there's you know there's
14:08 incognito mode in your browser you know there's sitting in a room alone at night
14:13 because I'm usually up till 3:00 or 4 in the morning anyway I could visit forchan if I wanted
14:18 to but I would feel bad about wanting to
14:24 the NSA would know the NSA and then you show up on their Google search thing
14:28 anyways I don't even think this will matter at all I don't think this will
14:31 change anything it won't affect anything
14:34 um it's foran's going to move way too fast because forun moves way too fast
14:39 and they'll be like oh we're going to apply a dmca policy and someone's going to be like restart the thread doesn't
14:44 matter at all or people will just go to
14:47 one of the other chance which there are many of
14:51 so so there's that I'm just doesn't matter I'm just really surprised with
14:56 the way that 4chan's always been like internet internet raw Rah raw we can put
15:01 anything literally anything on the internet which you have to you have to
15:07 respect that principle even if you don't respect what it sometimes turns into
15:11 often okay not always but often it's not a bad
15:17 thing to stand up for no and I and I totally agree with that principle it's
15:21 just it's so baffling to me that even though it won't affect anything that
15:25 they had this sudden change of heart they probably had to in some way I
15:29 haven't read enough into that part but they they were probably forced to in
15:33 some way and then I bet you moot uh the
15:36 guy that runs forchan probably knew deep down that it just wouldn't change Jack
15:40 all because they can this is great someone's like 4chan doesn't have
15:44 CP okay then um moving
15:47 on um someone can serve a dmca thing for
15:52 him to take it down and then he'll just be like oh well the thread 404 it anyways so good work I guess
16:00 okay so shall we move on to oh I guess that ties pretty well into uh Apple
16:04 denies the iCloud breach Apple etc etc
16:08 etc oh yeah right so the other things for the iCloud breach is that they uh
16:14 the two-step notification thing and then two Factor authentication is interesting
16:18 so the I think twostep was not enabled on that account correct I think that's
16:22 how that went us I don't have two- Factor authentication on any of my Apple
16:26 accounts I'm not sure if they support two Factor not yet um recommends users
16:31 to use their two-step verification if they're concerned about security but two
16:35 Factor authentication will also cover iCloud in the next version next revision
16:40 of iOS which will be later this month yeah so that's coming very soon actually
16:44 there's a lot of really cool stuff coming with iOS 8 I've been using iOS 7
16:48 as much as I can leading up to the iPhone 6 launch when I'll take a take a
16:52 run at it uh with ios8 and I'm there's a couple things I'm excited about we're
16:56 finally getting swift key yeah
17:02 so there's that that's a big one but um yeah I mean adding more security to
17:06 things especially two-factor authentication which is basically a way
17:11 of not just securing something with a password but also with an email or an
17:15 authentication token that you have to use an app on your phone that you've
17:18 authenticated separately um is great it
17:22 saved my Hotmail account from getting hijacked back when I had my YouTube
17:25 account hijacked and if I had lost the Hotmail account which was set up as the
17:30 backup email it would have been much more difficult for me to get the YouTube
17:35 channel back so having twostep authentication or two Factor
17:39 authentication is super super awesome and everyone should use it yep but we're
17:45 also not going to blame people who don't use it nope all right Motorola
17:50 officially launches your new phone want to talk about it a little bit probably
17:54 my new phone I'm not 100% convinced yet
17:58 but very highly the big problem I have with it is there's a lot of improvements
18:02 and I'll get to there in second well the big problem I have with it is there's a
18:06 lot of improvements isn't it great how when you take things out of context they're funny jerk I love how you
18:11 admitted it was taken out of context though that helps me um it it it's
18:15 running a 2300 milliamp hour battery
18:18 which is like dudes but then at the exact same time my Moto my current Moto
18:24 X also has a teeny little battery and
18:27 it's not really that deal is it yeah it's very it's a very efficient phone it
18:32 runs stock Androids there isn't a whole bunch of crap running on top of it and I
18:36 have always been pretty nazy about all the kind of stuff that's running on my
18:39 phone I don't like extra stuff running on my phone so I don't have battery
18:43 issues yeah I found one that was uh that was that was wrecking my phone battery
18:48 on the 1 M8 um Plex really yeah yeah I would after
18:55 iding Plex idling Plex yeah doing nothing like boot up the phone and touch
19:01 nothing and then leave it there at 100% and come back at the end of the day and
19:04 it's at like 20% having not touched it like brutal so I uninstalled Plex and uh
19:10 Android kernel started using way less so
19:14 instead of like through uh through task management programs I wasn't even able
19:17 to narrow down which one it was because it was just hiding itself under
19:21 multimedia something and then like Android konel we're both using
19:24 ridiculous amounts of power so it's like Plex I like you but this is isn't going
19:29 to work for me with fairly heavy usage and leaving the thing on on Moto X where
19:33 on this like idle screen where it shows the time and the lock it'll show what
19:37 notifications are coming in leaving that on which is kind of suicide when but
19:40 that's OLED so that helps I know but still it still takes battery a little
19:44 bit little bit um I I can still get through a day and a half of Fairly heavy
19:49 use and this thing has a teeny battery so it's not ideal but I'm not super
19:55 worried at the same time because of the experience I've had with this phone I'm
19:59 hoping that it'll still be okay on the new one if we get a loner unit um I know
20:03 we're not getting a keeper unit for Motorola but if we get a loner unit do you want to do the review sure okay sure
20:08 that would be cool so basically it's got a Snapdragon 802 2.5 GHz processor this
20:12 is much closer to Flagship class than the original Moto X was that was never
20:16 intended to compete with the 1 M7 and
20:20 the Galaxy S4 at the time it was meant to be like a you know kind of step down
20:25 but very practical and very nice all that but this one no this is like balls
20:29 to the wall so 5.2 in 1080P super ammo Leed screen 2 gigs of RAM 16 to 32 gigs
20:34 of non-expandable
20:38 memory front-facing speakers though that's a big one pretty stoked about
20:42 that and then a lot of the usual customization featur so we're even
20:46 getting those wood paneled backs which I think is super awesome the ring flash is
20:50 fairly interesting now the camera it has a silver ring on this one but it's just
20:55 oh you can't really see it at all it's just for aesthetic reasons on the new one one there's going to be a ring
21:00 around the actual camera which is its flash which looks a little bit
21:05 interesting because it looks like you have like uh in some of the pictures at
21:09 least it looks like you have a jewel EMB bed around your camera which looks like
21:13 super ghetto right speaking of uh
21:16 speaking of weird camera stuff the iPhone 6 is rumored to have a raised
21:19 camera bump as well which is so unle
21:23 like to compromise design for better
21:26 functionality and I'm not 100% sure how I feel about it because on the one hand
21:31 I do appreciate better functionality you know and I'm willing to give up a little
21:35 bit of you know a bump here or you know widget there or dongle or whatever else
21:39 but on the other hand Apple was the one pushing the other guys who would
21:44 compromise a little bit to strive for
21:47 better design by never compromising on that so as much as I might not use a ton
21:51 of Apple products I appreciate what they've done for the industry and if
21:55 they let it slip I have a feeling the Samsungs and HT and LGS of the world
22:00 will just completely drop the ball we let it slip that much more I wasn't
22:03 going to say completely drop the ball I'm down with that I I I don't really
22:06 buy Apple products there's a thread on the Forum fairly recently where I talked about this I didn't even buy one of
22:11 those old school iPods I had a creative Zen like I've never really been the dude
22:16 that buys RCA lra there you go I've never really been the dude that buys
22:20 Apple products at all but I've always appreciated their existence because when
22:24 they got into stuff like the MP3 Market either people got out of the market or
22:28 Ste up their game Y and then I will buy the products from the dudes that stepped
22:31 up their game I'm I'm that dude but I still appreciate their existence because
22:35 they do that so I hope they don't screw up in the absence of Steve Jobs so it's
22:39 going to be 100 bucks on contract or $499.99 unlocked which actually isn't
22:43 that bad sure it's not that competitive with something like a OnePlus One but
22:47 you can buy it without an invitation and also I OnePlus One is another one of one
22:53 plus you don't have to like hate the company that makes your phone I think
22:56 hate is a strong word I think mostly
22:59 misguided I don't think they do unpopular things on purpose I think
23:03 they're legitimately trying to be liked I think at some level they just kind of
23:08 don't get it whether it's a cultural barrier or what they're just like that dude that jumps into the room and he's
23:12 like yeah guys check this out and everyone's like oh no it's like you know that thing
23:17 you've got there is pretty cool I just wish that you hadn't gotten your armpit
23:21 grease on it kind of thing yeah yeah I mostly like you um speaking of things
23:26 that I mostly like the Moto 360 has
23:29 finally been announced this was orig this was originally posted by cyan Bob
23:33 on the Forum speaking of which red round 2 posted the Apple denies iCloud breach
23:38 99 VW posted the other Apple value drops thing and then the Moto X one was posted
23:43 by dismo I got to give you guys the shout out and one thing I want to shout
23:46 out too before we move on is that a lot of the Articles from this week were
23:50 written very well and were like pretty long and well well quoted with your own
23:55 with your own interpretation of what's going on and your own thoughts and opinions and stuff be more important
23:59 very soon we'll have more details about that in a little while so the Moto 360
24:04 is announced you can pre-order them they're 250 bucks us or 280 Canadian um
24:10 available in the US now Canada later in the fall can be purchased from motorless
24:14 website or the Google Play Store and from Best Buy this is the same Moto 360
24:20 we've been talking about for a long time the main difference is now you can
24:23 actually buy one and uh once again are
24:26 you going smartwatch my friend I actually probably will be but then this
24:31 brings in another worrisome thought which is where the Moto X that I'm
24:36 thinking about jumping to because I have to give my current phone back to its
24:40 rightful owner um has not a huge battery
24:44 even though it might be efficient I'm going to have to run these connected all
24:47 the time and that could be another strain on the battery yes it's less than
24:52 you would think as someone who uses a smartwatch already I never have so I'm
24:56 not really sure yeah it's it's one of those things where you could probably
24:59 Benchmark it but dayt day it's not going
25:02 to be like oh my God I have my Pebble on I had to pull out my charger six times
25:08 it's not that kind of a difference and the benefit is just oh man so great I
25:15 would like one because I I've noticed more and more that I just leave my phone
25:20 somewhere near me and I really like the screen feature where it'll tell me what
25:24 notification I get cuz it'll Buzz cuz I usually have it uh on VI because we film
25:30 um and I'll just look over and if it's not like an email or a text if it's like
25:34 Instagram or Twitter whatever I'm like okay I can probably leave that for a little bit and check it later and it'll
25:38 be fine yeah no it's fantastic and things like being able to control music
25:42 yeah I I that's what I do 90% of the time that I'm interacting
25:48 with my Pebble when I'm not checking the time or reading a message is I'm
25:52 controlling music from my pocket because and this is a this is another
25:56 frustration as much as I love the way that Apple moves things forward in some
26:00 ways things like inline controls that work with your phone yeah apple also
26:05 doesn't necessarily do all the standards all the time so uh so a lot of headsets
26:11 particularly from companies like Sennheiser that I really like will have
26:14 these inline controls that don't work with my Android phone so this is the way
26:18 around it being able to leave my phone in my pocket that is cool and and this
26:22 has Okay Google support as well right yes so you will I mean aside from with
26:26 the Moto X you'll have support for Google Now from your pocket anyway yeah
26:31 but I'm assuming this will be able to hear it better and if I leave my phone somewhere else yes and this will work
26:36 with other phones that don't have that feature as well the thing I worry about
26:40 here is battery life so anything with an always on not e in or um shoot I forget
26:48 mirol or Mirasol display I worry very
26:52 much about what the user experience is like and I would have liked to see
26:56 someone pick up where qualcom left off off with the talk with that Mirasol
27:00 display um it was much more power efficient than even AMOLED I mean you
27:05 can see that motal is trying here if we go back to the to the picture of the
27:09 watch you can see that the stock watch
27:13 face is mostly black that's the way Amo
27:16 LED Works anything that's black is actually powered off so you're going to
27:20 get some power savings just by having thin white elements on an otherwise
27:27 black screen I just I'm not sure if it's going to be enough I already run out of
27:30 battery on my Pebble from time to time
27:33 and that one lasts me about 4 days so for something that I have to charge
27:37 every night I feel like it's a bit of a hassle right I don't know this again
27:43 these are these are two things that I'm extremely interested in acquiring myself
27:47 and because I think they should honestly work pretty well together but uh I'm
27:52 going to need to and like the watch like I'm going to have to wear the watch
27:55 before I decide I'm going to buy it I'm not going to just order it online and be
27:58 like it'll show up and I will like it that was one of my big problems with the
28:01 talk was it just plane wasn't comfortable yeah um and this this is
28:05 where when when we joke about Best Buy is like the Amazon showroom like we
28:10 actually need an Amazon showroom yeah we need we need showrooms from these
28:13 companies not necessarily Stores um but showrooms because I'd like to go in and
28:17 be like Oh yeah this is pretty cool and maybe have it be like like the ncx
28:21 langly kind of idea where you can order something online and get it shipped
28:25 there and then pick it up well I mean you look at what guys like T-Mobile are
28:28 doing moving things into the 21st century where they they were doing trial
28:32 devices yes super cool that would be awesome that kind of thing I'm totally
28:35 down if I if I could go like new Moto X and Moto 360 let's do this for a week
28:41 that would be great and I would know my answer for sure at the end of it Y and
28:45 that would be exactly what I want the issue with that is you'll never see a
28:48 program like that at launch so for the enthusiasts and early adopters the folks
28:52 like us and the people watching this show that might not be that appealing
28:55 because you're always going to have limited quantities of something available at launch even someone like
29:00 apple where they've got iPhone 6 in full-fledged full scale mass production
29:07 like weeks or even months ahead of the actual launch date you can still never
29:13 make enough of them unless it's like a
29:17 bad product in which case who wants to
29:20 use it anyway yeah uh all right let's move on
29:24 to our next topic here Mozilla leaves a ton of pass on a fairly open server
29:30 twice okay so there was a posted by rainfall within on the Forum and the
29:36 original articles from hot for security take it away Luke there was a freaking
29:40 ton of misinformation about this so I'm going to go through it generally and
29:45 then clear up some stuff that there was misinformation about so for the second
29:48 time in a month one of them was at the beginning of August and one of them was
29:52 on August 27th so the first one was
29:56 76,000 email addresses and 4,000 heavily
29:59 encrypted passwords not plain text
30:03 passwords um and those were left publicly accessible on a server for 30
30:07 days not good and then on August 27th they found that
30:11 97,000 users also had issues who
30:15 were not this isn't Firefox browser
30:18 users that's that this is one of the big misinformation thing this isn't like I
30:23 had Firefox browser and my email was randomly stored on the server no these
30:28 are people that were running test builds not even just the normal thing test
30:32 builds of bugzilla very specific and not people
30:36 that were signed up on the bugzilla forums not people that were accessing
30:40 those those their their accounts in that way just actual people signed up
30:44 directly for the test build of bugzilla
30:47 those are the people that were affected so I saw a couple people like jumping
30:51 ship off Firefox in the massive browser
30:54 war that that thread turned into which it should not have turned into but
30:58 internet so it did um we're jumping ship
31:01 off Firefox cuz they're like oh no my email stolen no dude only if you were a
31:07 bugzilla pre-release tester like not even just someone who used bugzilla but
31:11 someone who was like developer level testing for
31:14 bugzilla anyways um and no they did not
31:18 make the same mistake twice within a month and like
31:23 make a mistake and then make a mistake again knowing that they made the first
31:26 one that that's not what happened happened they discovered a mistake and
31:30 then what I'm assuming is they searched for more and then discovered another one
31:35 that was made previously because the second one had been open for I believe 3
31:39 months so they found two mistakes they didn't make two mistakes in one month
31:44 they were I believe two or three months apart and like I just said I'm going to
31:49 have to assume they found the first one and then we like oh crap and started
31:52 looking around and found the second one so yeah tons of misinformation going
31:58 about that thread and then like tons of misinformation for the first about page
32:01 and maybe a quarter and then the all the rest of it was just this stupid browser
32:07 War because it's the internet come on
32:11 yeah because Internet yay Internet yay my browser takes
32:15 0.0000001 seconds and it's already
32:18 happening in twitch chat I use IE tour browser master race no one cares Chrome
32:25 is my main driver but it's heavy as hell that I'm okay I'm with you on that one I
32:30 also Daily drive on Chrome I don't but it is oh it drives me crazy they all
32:34 suck let's just come together and accept that they're all horrible we need slower
32:40 iteration and more solid builds that's
32:43 what we need okay uh so I have a straw poll for you guys I am not going to be
32:48 here for wo next week in the in like a span of a month you're not no I'm going
32:53 to be at the event in California that's next week that's not that's event in
32:58 California we have the event together in California the following week yeah I
33:03 have no idea how we're going to get content for the channel over the next
33:07 couple weeks here so in a span of like
33:10 four weeks I think we're doing like five
33:14 events so uh we did packs um I have a secret one coming up
33:20 we're doing the mod 24 NVIDIA thing
33:24 which there will be more details about revealed tomorrow so stay tuned for that
33:29 um you're going to ctia so that's the
33:32 wireless Industry Show which will be interesting that's the first time we're doing something like that and I feel
33:36 like there's one more I'm missing lots of feedback Germany's coming up yep
33:40 Germany's coming up Germany's coming up soon actually Everest was almost can I
33:44 talk about this I guess so Germany so uh
33:47 Luke and I are going on a European field
33:51 trip so we will be touring two very cool
33:56 factories we should rent a yellow bus no it's not in the budget a really short
34:01 one at all um so we are going to be
34:04 visiting the Cherry Factory you know the guys who make keyboard switches this is
34:08 going to be courtesy of Corsair and Cherry and we are going to be touring
34:13 the senheiser facility as well and uh we
34:17 are potentially going to be getting an interview opportunity with one of the
34:20 co-founders of Sennheiser and and um or sorry one co-
34:26 CEOs excuse me and we are potentially going to get an opportunity to interview
34:31 um the guy who does their product development so the guy who designed the
34:35 hd8 DJs for example I get to sure you'll like to meet him I get to congratulate
34:39 him out of one side of my mouth for how amazing they sound and then ask him why
34:44 the hell there isn't at least like an aftermarket option for increasing the
34:47 headband padding a little bit cuz after like a couple hours it starts to wear on
34:52 me but I'm just like oh but they sound so good and I'll like take them off I'll
34:55 put on something else be like screw it
34:58 put them back on that's why I like my um
35:02 595s so much even though I recommend 555s cuz you can just do the rubber band
35:06 hack but they just feel so comfy I could
35:10 literally wear those forever yeah and the hd600s are the same they sound
35:14 really great but they're open which is a bit of a problem because the volumes I
35:18 like to listen to sometimes um that can be an issue cuz the baby is through a
35:23 wall I live alone but probably 3 feet four feet from my desk right very close
35:29 yeah um and she is a very light sleeper all right so anyway I'm not going to be
35:32 here next week so I want you guys to
35:36 tell me who you want Luke's co-host to
35:39 be some of these people aren't even options and I'm more just curious It's
35:43 like a popularity contest and I just want to see who wins options uh so the
35:48 options are barnacles Timmy tech TV edil Taran and CES C who is Luke's brother
35:54 all right so we'll go ahead and C C in number two throw those results up there
35:58 while we uh while we move on to the next topic what else we got uh I was staring
36:03 at the results um um a punch of tablet stuff yeah Lenovo launches a tablet it's
36:08 $19.99 it's got a 19 by 1200 display
36:12 it's got an Atom Processor which is very interesting to me ASUS was showing off
36:16 some great adom powered stuff at CES this year that it's like yeah Snapdragon
36:23 whatever adrino GPU cool and then
36:27 there's like Intel's onboard Graphics which might not be that great in a
36:31 notebook but you throw that stuff in a tablet it's like freaking awesome Bam um
36:38 it also has two gigs of RAM 16 gigabytes of
36:41 storage and 16 gigs needs to go away 16
36:45 needs to die like now why does that still exist like it's one
36:49 thing if you give me enough storage for all my apps and I have to put all my
36:53 other crap on an SD card or even
37:02 storage we should we should hold on hold on we need a growling
37:08 contest okay I can't keep a straight face I win all right back to the back to
37:12 the result grow that was probably really bad for my throat yeah probably you
37:16 probably shouldn't have done that sweet I egg him on all right it has a 4290
37:20 mlia battery bluo 4.0 uh dual be
37:24 whatever totally worthless but they're front facing speakers that's the
37:28 important part um 8ap rear camera 1.6
37:31 front camera if you're going to put a 1.6 megap camera on something I would say don't bother you know the best part
37:36 about that growling contest is yes we probably just peaked the whole oh we
37:39 totally did I'm monitoring um all right there's an LTE model available at a
37:42 higher price and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat it will also have 64bit
37:48 compatibility and I would encourage you guys if you aren't already go subscribe
37:53 to Techquickie because we have a once and for all 32bit versus 64-bit video
38:00 coming out that I want you guys to watch and then I want you guys to share
38:04 because more RAM and Windows bro yeah because it contains a lot of information
38:09 that actually it doesn't contain that much information but it contains
38:12 information that people need to know
38:16 which is that 64bit is not I'm not going
38:19 to spoil it for you guys all right so moving on uh looks like Barnacles is out
38:24 ahead although cold C is actually not
38:28 that distant a second which is good because it'll probably be cool
38:31 us was already kind of a foregone conclusion I traded him a graphics card
38:36 for a couple of wow appearances so he's already prepaid yeah yeah yeah makes
38:41 sense all right so oops wrong window
38:44 another tablet yes yes let's talk about
38:47 that one hold on hold on original posters uh so top war gamer posted the
38:52 Lenovo 8 in Android tablet and rainfall within posted the Milla story all right
38:57 all right moving on to the TBA one so that's top war gamer again hit us what
39:01 do we got it's named The Encore mini it has a 7in
39:05 1024x600 screen it is a $120 uh Windows 8.1
39:11 tablet though so I don't know yeah so we're talking like x86 Windows 8.1
39:18 so quad core Intel Atom Processor 16
39:21 gabes of internal storage but it does
39:24 have an SD slot for expansion so there we go cuz we can do what we were just
39:28 talking about which is you can have your OS and your apps and then a whole bunch of files on the side your music and your
39:32 videos I mean with micr SD capacity up to what like 128 gigs these days like it
39:37 it's it's just kind of a a joke to be concerned about having to store stuff on
39:42 micro SD especially if it's stuff like songs or or movies or whatever else yeah
39:46 no big deal um it uses Windows 8.1 with
39:49 Bing which is a horrible sentence to say I know it's so bad you know it's funny I
39:55 was playing around with Cortana on my HTC 1 and8 for Windows review one thing
40:01 that I was just kind of like you
40:04 know Bing can I just reconfigure this so
40:08 that when it does do an internet search it just uses something other than Bing
40:13 please just anything just don't use Bing
40:16 um anyways there's a few drawbacks like bad viewing angles no Windows Button
40:22 song Just Give me anything oh no no no
40:26 no no yeah but B well I would do
40:30 anything to search but I won't Bing
40:36 that no I won't Bing anything for search
40:42 sorry I'll let you finish the story now that was great that should be our next
40:46 song we did the rap now we can do like
40:49 anything but anything but that but
40:52 remixed fantastic someone says Bing is literally Google with a skin
40:57 no it's I'm sorry but you're dumb I don't usually say that kind of stuff wow
41:03 oh my God but it's like not wrecked oh
41:07 wrecked um sorry that was that was bad
41:10 um if it was if it was Google with a skin I might actually use it I know
41:14 right cuz it looks all right it does it looks good okay sorry talk about this
41:18 tablet so yeah it has drawbacks cuz it's $120 so there's going to be drawbacks uh
41:24 full Windows isn't necessarily optimal for 7 screen either what the heck um and
41:31 it's I don't know it's a super super super cheap tablet so it is what it is
41:35 why don't we move on yeah that's pretty much it uh more exciting news is that
41:40 the AMD R9 295x2 Is On promotional pricing which I
41:45 think means basically AMD code word for
41:48 it is now this price we dropped the price to something more competitive
41:51 don't buy it at anything other than this price also we're like we're trying to
41:54 give NVIDIA the business cuz NVIDIA tried to drop Titan Z down to what two
41:59 grand I think to select system Builders and AMD is
42:05 like we're going to do $1,000 for ours we're still half the
42:09 price so uh yeah so through specific
42:13 retailers for as low as a thousand bucks for a th000 bucks do you think that card
42:17 makes sense I don't like Crossfire SLI and I
42:22 especially don't like them on the same card but it is kind of interesting
42:28 all righty then interesting okay at $1,000 though if you're going for raw
42:33 FPS can you come up with a better
42:39 solution he's thinking top of my head yeah the answer is kind of no like you
42:43 do have to find a spot for the radiator but at $1,000 what else can you buy you
42:48 can pick up two 780s but those are going to be three gigs didn't 290s just get a
42:52 price drop as well I think yeah but 295x2 is too fully 295x or 290x it is
43:00 not 2 290s because because due to the
43:03 water cooling they were able to make it a fully so you could do something for
43:07 the same price but not necessarily lower and not even quite okay yeah the same
43:11 price but that would be but that diamond card on New Egg there for $489 is um
43:17 that those are 290x right okay but that is a dual slot card yeah whereas a 295x2
43:23 is a dual slot card for two gpus but we didn't we didn't have a limit
43:27 for slots or like case size or anything I think I said better solution but then
43:32 I said in terms of raw FPS mind you um
43:36 290 290 X's particular if they if you Crossfire them unless you have an
43:40 extremely well ventilated case could easily throttle whereas a 295x2 won't
43:45 due to the liquid cooler so in terms of raw FPS it might still win and then
43:49 liquid cooling these would make them better but would also massively increase
43:53 the cost much more expensive so I don't think G10 would be
43:57 enough I don't know go go AMD um that said that's probably the most exciting
44:01 thing AMD did this week and they actually launched a new GPU based on a
44:05 new micro architecture Tonga is the least
44:09 interesting thing ever I think I pretty much said that in my video I mean it's
44:14 good it slots in at around the same price point as the card that it replaces
44:18 that is around the same price did exactly what everyone thought it would
44:21 do yes it's more power efficient it has
44:24 better feature support so you've got free sync
44:27 as well as um Hardware h264 4K encoding
44:32 and decoding and the like super weird but kind of interesting multim monitor
44:36 speaker Arrangement setup thing yeah where it like automatically makes it
44:39 left right center channel if you're using the internal speakers on your
44:42 monitors for a massively expensive triple setup using a 285
44:49 what yeah I read that and I was
44:53 like the only big issue I have with it is that they cut the RAM from 3 gigs to
44:58 2 gigs in an era where more RAM is
45:02 becoming more important every day and when AMD themselves almost a year ago
45:09 now in Hawaii spent so much time talking
45:12 about how important it was that 290 series had 4 gigs of RAM compared to the
45:17 competition's lower frame buffer amounts
45:20 yeah so AMD guys you got to you got to figure
45:26 out your story what your naming yeah 285
45:29 is kind of brutal like what are you doing what would you have rather they
45:33 did I don't know not that they shouldn't have done the R9 R7 thing in the first
45:38 place 28 yeah you know what I actually screwed it up in the video I called the
45:42 r7260x the R9 260x and someone called me
45:46 on it and I was just like you know what I don't care because that's dumb it
45:49 should just be the 260x you know what from now on let's make a packed
45:53 everything's R9 nothing is just we don't give the RS at there are no s see I did
45:58 that on one of my graphs and everyone freaked out NOP okay well from now on
46:01 that's okay should we just do it R like
46:05 used to be yeah let's call it it should have been we'll just like like the old code names like the r600 code name we're
46:10 just going to be like okay R 260x and
46:13 like GF no cuz I I'm okay with nvidias
46:16 it's like GTX is gaming okay so it's just GTX whatever you don't really have
46:20 to say GeForce anymore just like radon so we'll go R whatever and then GTX
46:25 whatever and people will it the stand are R speaking of people
46:30 liking things for the number of people who complained about us running
46:33 overclocked benchmarks on our gpus I think that many times several
46:38 complained about us not running overclocked benchmarks goes to show you nobody's ever happy so I think what we
46:43 should do is maybe go back to overclocked benchmarks but with a caveat
46:48 so maybe instead of going balls to the wall on the graphics cards let's do the
46:52 same thing we do on CPUs where we aim for that lwh hanging fruit number the
46:56 problem with that and the reason why we haven't done that in the past is
47:00 actually because with CPU launches it's
47:04 much more orchestrated we have more information from more people with
47:08 graphis card launches we're in the black okay another thing though so I have no
47:12 idea actually this is a new thing that I kind of decided today I was I was like
47:16 chatting with Ryan Trout from PC per on Skype and I was just like you know what
47:21 I don't care about embargos anymore we're not going to hit embargos
47:25 anymore we're going to do everything
47:28 late I and we're going to try it for a little bit and some people probably
47:32 won't like it but there are a couple of reasons for this number one is that
47:36 we're a YouTube channel first and foremost and YouTube actually
47:40 prioritizes newer content and search results so us being a day or two or even
47:46 six hours after everyone else has been beneficial for us in the past reason
47:51 number two speaking of beneficial for us in the past we have launched content as
47:56 much as months late what about the nocto
47:59 cooler wasn't that like a year late something like that I mean the pebble
48:03 the original Pebble uh if you look for here so this is a perfect example let's
48:08 screen share with Linus I searched for Pebble my Pebble Smartwatch review was
48:13 months late months after everyone else
48:16 did uh unveilings and handson and full
48:20 reviews and yet 274,000 views I believe
48:25 that's the one of the most for any
48:29 original Pebble review and I was way
48:32 late so the way that I'm kind of looking at it is you know what maybe let's not
48:36 make it about the product so much let's make it more about having great quality
48:40 content making sure it's right and not staying up until 4 in the morning the
48:45 night before to finish benchmarking something when we can just release
48:49 something else that day and do it
48:52 right so I don't know it's not 100% it's
48:55 just something I was kind of kicking I think it also sh with you guys depends
48:59 on what it is and when we get it cuz a lot of times like with the extreme
49:03 Edition like we got the BIOS for that board like the day before I had to do
49:08 all the testing like that's ridiculous yeah I mean yeah that's a perfect
49:12 example x99 okay x99 got pushed up we I
49:17 think mostly people know this if you've been following the rumor mill the rumors
49:20 changed at some point which is often an indication that something changed um so
49:24 we got a finished retail Buy BIOS which In fairness to Aus particularly was not
49:30 very different from the previous one we had which wasn't very different from the
49:34 previous one we had in fact I think the only bugs they fixed there were like if
49:37 you didn't have a CPU fan installed uh
49:40 the ignore CPU fan speed feature didn't work or something like that like it was
49:44 minor tweaks so ASUS actually had their
49:47 crap together reasonably well but that doesn't change the fact that we got a
49:51 new NVIDIA driver optimized for x99 I think three or four days before launch
49:56 three three and that was over a weekend
49:59 yeah so so like not very helpful yeah we got a new uh we got a new isus BIOS like
50:05 a couple nights before the launch like it was it was very last minute and you
50:11 know what no one seems to have minded that our 5960x video went up on the
50:17 Tuesday yeah so there you go apparently we only
50:22 need 11,000 more subscribers to get to a million that's pretty insane yeah people
50:28 want us to discuss PewDiePie's disabling
50:31 of comments so this was originally posted by onot Tech on the Forum and I
50:35 actually went ahead and I post on Facebook asking what people thought
50:40 whether we should do the same thing and there was some there were some really
50:43 interesting thoughts there but I'll let you kind of cover exactly what happened
50:46 here original article here's from Kaku here it is one thing I want to talk
50:49 about before I even get into this is I've talked about PewDiePie on the show
50:53 before and about how I don't I think I've used the wrong terminology I probably said I don't don't like him I
50:57 don't like the character he portrays in most of his videos after watching this I
51:02 went through and watched like a couple other videos that he's done um like you
51:06 brought up the uh what is it the Fine Brothers yeah YouTubers react he's a lot
51:11 more sane I ended up looking that up and I watch this video and stuff and like
51:14 seems like a pretty smart dude no no problem with that I'm just not
51:17 interested in his content so anyways uh
51:20 he has decided to disable comments forever forever this has been because he
51:25 is sick of seeing mainly spam people self- advertising and people trying to
51:29 provoke others and all the other people
51:33 responding to those things making them go to the top and making them very the
51:37 the the main things that people are actually looking at especially with YouTube's new style of comments yeah and
51:42 you know it's always been a problem new comment system old comment system as you
51:45 get bigger and bigger the signal to noise ratio in the comments goes down
51:50 and no offense to Felix um but something
51:54 about his style of content I think attracts a less sophisticated commenter
51:59 yeah which is again one of the reasons why I don't like his okay go ahead with
52:03 the rest of the story and then I'll talk about sort of some of my thoughts on it as well um it the main issue is that
52:08 most of the positive feedback or even like constructive negative feedback and
52:13 welcome suggestions and all that kind of stuff are buried under all this what is
52:17 essentially junk crap that gets in a lot of the videos and he has said I just
52:22 want to connect with you bros which is currently that was a quote which is
52:26 current ly impossible essentially because it's just buried under all this
52:30 stuff and you have to imagine how many comments he gets on all his videos it's
52:33 he's not going to be able to read every single one of them I don't think you
52:36 could actually read that fast at his scale I don't know if it's possible like
52:41 yeah he'd have to have a team of people and that's insane he could afford it he
52:45 could probably afford it I have a team of people and I'm like a fraction his SI
52:49 comments though just well I wouldn't spend my money on that you have to have
52:52 a whole department of people just to sit in a room and read YouTube comments
52:57 and like collate all the important ones and hand you a package even if I was
53:00 making $4 million a year I don't think I would spend it on that so stupid anyways
53:05 so he he's decided to try and move to things like maybe uh direct Twitter
53:08 interaction Twitter hashtags that he can hashtag a certain video then you can
53:13 look up that hashtag to see what people think about that certain video or a
53:16 subreddit or something like that things that people like total biscuit have
53:19 already been doing pud isn't going to watch this but if he did I would suggest
53:25 that maybe it's time to not necessarily be so married to being a onean operation
53:31 and invest in something like building a community the lineus tech tips.com forum
53:35 is is awesome awesome that's why I always have the call to action to if you
53:39 don't want to post on YouTube post on the Forum because I always read every
53:43 single comment on every single video that I make that is on the Forum thread
53:47 for that video I read all of them hands down and so that that's what I would
53:51 encourage him to do because there you can actually Foster the kind of attitude
53:57 in the kind of community that you want I mean mostly once it reaches a certain
54:00 Tipping Point there's only so much you can do but at least it's it's usually
54:04 more refined because it it takes that extra step yes and having your own
54:09 Community is is so much more of a powerful way to connect with people and
54:13 have them connect with each other I think that's the thing that's missing in
54:17 a lot of social networks is the connection between Bros so to speak as
54:23 opposed to between PewDiePie and all the Bros so I would really encourage him to
54:27 allocate some of his 4 million a year to
54:30 someone to to build a community for him and do Community Management you probably
54:33 get a pretty cool server probably better than ours yeah probably better than ours
54:38 uh all right so all right I wanted to give some Mye thoughts so I went ahead
54:42 and I I posted on Facebook asking people
54:45 for their thoughts and I read most of what came in in the first half an hour or so and I had a lot of people saying
54:49 yes it's aess poool and I had a lot of people saying no it's not you know um
54:55 with some people even going as far as to say I'll unsubscribe if you disable
54:58 comments which I think is ridiculous because it's not YouTube is a video
55:03 watching site first and a commenting on
55:06 the video site like sixth there's a lot more stuff that you can do on YouTube
55:10 actually find that I watch more of tal biscuits videos now that he doesn't have
55:15 comments than I did in the past so might sound weird but it just it's it's even
55:20 though I wouldn't really read them that much and even though I'd only really get the top comments his videos seem less
55:26 aggressive not because he's doing it but because like the the overall experience
55:30 the environment yeah yeah it's totally about that and I guess that's what got
55:34 me thinking so I had a lot of people saying no don't do it because you know
55:37 sometimes I post questions in your comments and I actually get an answer and it it really made me think and I was
55:41 also on the pka podcast last night we were talking a little bit about about
55:45 poison within the community and how to manage it and I kind of realized you
55:49 know what our audience is pretty damn mature I was just going to say I think a
55:53 big part of it is that we're not a let's play Channel we're not a let's play
55:56 Channel we're not a we're not a you know I don't want to pick on anyone in
56:00 particular but we're not like okay I'm not just not going to pick on anyone but
56:03 the point is our type of content is only
56:07 really interesting to people who are
56:10 somewhat technology literate which I think is going to mean you somewhat know
56:15 how to use the internet which of course means we have more ad block users and
56:19 all that stuff but you know if if someone was to go a cable Linus what
56:23 would you rather have would you rather have users that use ad block and you
56:27 know that couple of pennies or whatever per view doesn't get contributed to you
56:33 but they don't poison your community or would you rather have these
56:37 poisonous people that are giving you a couple pennies I will take the mature
56:41 Community every time because at least those people I can reason with you know
56:45 with the relationship we have with them over the years and maybe go okay well hey maybe you turn on ad block but would
56:50 you consider buying a cool t-shirt once in a while and that's yeah we've we've
56:54 found a way that at least I personally
56:57 think the mass majority Mass majority of our community is cool with us monetizing
57:01 different things and I think one of the one of the big problems that I've seen a
57:05 lot of the ad blog guys talk about is they don't want to see they don't
57:08 necessarily mind advertisement they don't want to see most the crap that
57:13 ends up getting in their advertisement feed I don't think advertisement in
57:16 general is necessarily evil it's just
57:20 well yeah no because because can if you
57:23 have a legitimately good service at a legitimately fair price I appreciate
57:29 someone taking the time to tell me about it so I think it helps that we kind of
57:32 act as a filter speaking of filters and advertising we've actually got our
57:36 sponsor segment coming up so first up is and I love this I love it when this
57:40 happens you know what I you know why I think I'm always wearing my Squarespace
57:43 shirt cuz you always wear your Squarespace shirt okay there's I I have
57:47 two of them so I usually wear a Squarespace shirt twice a week in
57:51 between laundry Cycles because they're American Apparel and they're so soft and
57:55 they're so nice um so there's so there's that so if other sponsors are watching
57:59 this right now that's the way to get lonus to pimp your crap it's that simple
58:03 send them like super nice American Apparel shirts and like some bamboo
58:06 shirts and stuff and on Fridays I'm usually like my most tired cuz it's been
58:12 a long week and it's like you know what I don't care if I'm like being a poster
58:17 boy for Squarespace I'm going put my comfy shirt
58:21 on I want a comfy Squarespace shirt yeah too bad I just have this like shirt that
58:26 I got from Pax did I tell you about how I got this no I'll tell you the the
58:30 biggest like PA hack after the after the
58:33 sponsor okay so Squarespace if you guys aren't familiar already is the fast easy
58:38 way to make your own beautiful website did I mention affordable you can save
58:42 10% by visiting squarespace.com Linus
58:45 and using offer code Linus and it really is out of everything I've tried anyway
58:51 which is a safe statement for me to make because I haven't tried to build too many websites but it is definitely the
58:56 easiest way to build a website that's functional and looks great it looks good
59:01 on your notebook it looks good on a desktop it looks good even on mobile and
59:06 it's going to be Snappy and responsive because they take care of the actual
59:09 hosting of the website with a flexible plan that you can go ahead and negotiate
59:13 with them according to the different tiers depending on what you need it's
59:17 also incredibly scalable and you can go from three people a week are visiting my
59:22 website about my cats to I'm selling pet
59:26 accessories and I'm getting thousands of hits a week and people are flooding my
59:30 site because you can turn Squarespace into a full-fledged eCommerce site with
59:35 the built-in tools it's got an easy logo designer which saves you a little bit of
59:39 either hassle or expense when you're first starting up and it's just super
59:44 easy to use also they happen to be awesome dudes so there we go we like
59:48 Squarespace we like the people who work there and we like that they support the
59:52 W show and you guys should probably like that they support the W show too because
59:55 if it wasn't for sponsors like Squarespace it would be pretty hard
59:59 for to do the things that we do and
60:02 speaking of other sponsors Dollar Shave Club what's Dollar Shave Club pretty
60:06 darn straightforward dollar so symbolic of
60:11 money shave so symbolic of saving money
60:16 and club which is sandwiches so it's all
60:19 about saving money on sandwiches dollarshaveclub.com no I'm totally
60:23 kidding saving money so you can buy sandwich saving money yes Dollar Shave
60:27 Club is all about buying yourself one
60:31 additional sandwich per month so you you
60:34 you save money by uh shaving which helps
60:37 you acquire female attention which then
60:41 you can buy uh stuff so that they can
60:44 make you sandwiches so not only does Dollar Shave Club hopefully help you get
60:47 into a relationship you are now clean shaven earlier in this very show we were
60:52 trying to be we were trying to be Progressive about M of the opposite sex
60:57 and then you're going to go and turn why are you bringing this to a sex thing it could be a girl sponsored why could a
61:02 girl not buy Dollar Shave Cliff
61:05 supplies hashtag Get
61:10 Wrecked okay
61:14 technically strictly speaking although
61:17 Dollar Shave Club does aim most of their
61:21 marketing at men women get sold a lot of St stupid
61:26 gimmicks when it comes to shaving supplies too and maybe that's it maybe
61:31 all of you guys are already signed up for Dollar Shave Club at
61:35 dollarshaveclub.com but maybe you know some female friends who could benefit
61:39 from you know a quad blade or even six blade executive razor you know what they
61:44 call it the executive you can be a female ex damn it it's 2014 we have
61:48 female Executives exactly tell Marissa Myers that she can't that she can't have
61:53 an executive razor and you know what I can cook pretty well all right I know
61:57 there's probably some dudes in the audience that could cook so there you go guys Dollar Shave Club ships you high
62:02 quality razors and other bathroom supplies including their one wipe Charlie's butt wipes for men or
62:07 women as well as their aftershave and
62:11 their shave butter which goes on clear so you can see what you're doing twice
62:15 as important when you're shaving a particularly tender area so
62:18 dollarshaveclub.com Linus guys check it out now join the club start shaving time
62:22 and shaving money okay so how to get
62:26 that was hilarious how to get that shirt how to get this shirt and like a whole
62:29 ton of extra shirts when you go to different gaming conventions a lot of uh
62:34 what they try to get you to do to get the the free shirt which is not free at
62:37 all is pre-order their games pre-ordering games is not free bull crap
62:43 and is not free at all and is super stupid so what you do is you go up to
62:47 their booth and you pre-order everything you can so that you can get all their
62:51 swag but you do it on Amazon oh you're not really telling people this are you
62:55 I'm telling people this you're going to wreck the system for yourself they'll
62:58 never catch on will they no it doesn't matter they're so oblivious all right do
63:01 it do it do it tons of people and like you probably already know about this but
63:04 just this is for the people that don't okay because there's probably people out
63:08 there that don't emo polar bear says my girlfriend prefers my Dollar Shave Club
63:11 razors to her women's razors there you go guys and and Dollar Shave Club if
63:16 you're still watching you guys need to get a lady Razer going anyway sorry go
63:20 um yeah so what what what you do is you go up to the booth and you pre-order
63:24 everything so you get all their extra little things and their Swag Like shirts
63:27 and stuff and then you do it on Amazon cuz Amazon does not charge you until
63:30 they ship so then you just go back to
63:33 your computer or go on your phone or whatever go to your Amazon account
63:38 recent orders cancel done you get all
63:42 the swag for free it took you like two extra seconds and you're done so I got
63:46 all the Ubisoft shirts all of them and
63:49 like all the other shirts there that required a pre-order cuz I was just like
63:52 oh I need to pre-order the game sure cool done
63:56 people say you guys need to have an option to accept tips in your video
64:00 descriptions um we have we have that we have our our monthly contributor thing
64:05 or you can buy a t-shirt or or you can just change your Amazon bookmark to one
64:09 with our affiliate code we have instructions to how to do that linked in
64:13 every one of our video descriptions that helps us out a lot I mean between us
64:17 girls Amazon affiliate Revenue has become a way for me to continue
64:22 expanding the team like it's turned into not just a couple bucks here and there
64:25 so you guys have been amazingly supportive but I mean more is always
64:31 better because as much as we just hired someone I would like to add more because
64:36 I mean Luke's going to be out of the office for a week out of the next two weeks you know traveling to shows and
64:41 doing show coverage and stuff like that we're going to need I we're going to be
64:44 out for at least at least two days how many three three yeah no no I'm out for
64:50 five too because I'm doing two events too how are we gonna do anything I don't
64:53 know we'll figure it out but the point is I hired him cuz I needed help we're
64:57 getting to the point where Luke needs help so if you guys if you guys like
65:00 encourage people you know or ask permission and then change people's
65:04 browser bookmarks to Amazon to ones with our affiliate code every little bit
65:08 helps especially people you know who shop on Amazon a lot we need to find a
65:12 way that we can have it as an auto executable off a flash drive yeah there's also a browser toolbar oh
65:16 actually that would be brilliant no that's that's like yeah I'm not doing
65:20 that um so you're a terrible person
65:26 actually that's kind of smart what if we had lonus Tech tips branded USB drives
65:31 that basically um we sold like at a loss
65:35 so people could buy USB drives from us on the cheap but that had that preloaded
65:40 but in a very upfront way so the idea was hey you're buying this USB drive
65:44 this USB drive is designed to override your Amazon affiliate links when you
65:48 plug it in we could just give them like a a loader that loads it onto the people
65:52 want to donate button on Twitch why we should just put a button on Twitch that
65:56 links them to the store on the Forum where they can become a yeah we should
66:00 just we should actually have just a description on our twitch page I love
66:03 twitch they're my friends but they don't need half of the monthly donation yeah
66:09 so but what I don't I don't think they're asking for a sub button yeah
66:12 they asking for a donation button so if we had like links yeah those are
66:15 different a sub button is a twitch subscription cuz like my personal
66:19 channel has a sub thing and it has a donation thing and it has a donate to
66:23 Child's Play thing oh okay yeah speaking of which I have to do the ALS
66:27 donation I haven't done that yet I did my Ms one oh crap okay yeah I I
66:32 committed 500 and then fractal is going to match it so crap I get I'll do that
66:36 this weekend cool all right so let's move on to our next topic this is just
66:40 this is something pretty quick but the ASRock x99 extreme 11 features 18 satis
66:45 6 gbit per second ports this was originally posted by top pick on the
66:49 Forum and I think rather than talking
66:52 about this a whole lot we're just going to let pictures do the talking
66:56 did you did you did you see the super scary thing though yeah right there
66:59 super scary um I've seen ASRock motherboards with chipset fans before
67:04 that don't turn on unless you enable them so I'm not sure if they have that
67:08 here but one of their previous extreme 11 boards was like that the problem is
67:12 that it ran so hot that you had to enable the fan on that particular model
67:16 look at this though that's ridiculous two USB 3 headers just cuz whatever
67:22 because why not should we we give ASRock a chance is
67:27 ASRock participating in our four-way motherboard ease of use shootout I think
67:32 they did found a board for it yeah we have a board so um so let's give ASRock
67:37 let's give ASRock a chance to win us over because the last time I really
67:41 tried to use an ASRock board was back in the like Blue Room days at ncx I think
67:46 yep and the last time I put an ASRock board in my own system was a 939 duel
67:53 oh that that was like optron 165 dual
67:57 core days all right uh steam client beta
68:01 update brings better streaming support overall especially to AMD cards uh this
68:05 was originally posted on the Forum by
68:08 welcome uh so you want to cover this one
68:11 uh yeah there's a there's a few things actually they're also doing tweaks to
68:15 stream uh steam music where it can find music inside steam directories that
68:19 probably should have been there by default guys because you can kind of buy
68:22 soundtracks with games and it wasn't automatically picked them up and that's
68:26 super stupid but it can now which is great there's UI improvements they're
68:30 reducing energy usage when it's running in the background but it just kind of
68:33 generally supports they're saying in home streaming now support uh inh home
68:37 streaming support now available for AMD
68:41 cards that's a note in here I didn't know that it wasn't available before uh
68:45 I think it wasn't optimized cuz the thing is the thing is for every enode
68:50 encode and decode like combination they have to make sure it all works and with
68:56 all the hardware different hardware encoders and decoders that are out there
69:00 there's a lot of optimization for Val to do for what was at least at the last
69:04 time I talked to him basically a oneman army team yeah yeah yeah yeah exactly
69:08 there you go uh you can now stream from Linux uh from a Linux host 2 PCS now uh
69:14 which is interesting you and you can uh
69:17 use vce Hardware encoding of direct 3D games now if you have a Ron 77 XX
69:24 whatever numberb is the are at the end or a
69:27 r9200 series above the0 above 240 okay
69:31 cool well that'll just keep getting better and then when we get an Android
69:35 steam client then everything else will be irrelevant yeah all right so this is
69:40 something that uh if you've been following me for a long time then you
69:44 might know about this already what the bloody heck was that nigma PCI something
69:50 oh so I did a video of this bad boy
69:54 quite a while back oh come on there it
69:57 is magma Express box 3T Thunderbolt
70:01 external PCI Express enclosure um and I got really amped
70:06 about this product because it was basically a way to install a graphics
70:11 card yeah look the old intro I haven't seen that in forever let's watch it
70:20 hello all the sound effects were made
70:24 yeah all the sound I I I barely remember the actual video sequence but all the
70:28 sound effects are like permanently ingrained in my brain yeah that was like
70:32 actually cutting cardboard and the the Ping for the him winking is hitting a
70:37 glass with a spoon cuz we were worried about like uh usage rights for sound
70:41 effects and we didn't have any sound effects librar okay so this bad boy lets
70:45 you install graphics cards sound cards whatever else and connect all of them to
70:50 a PC via Thunderbolt
70:53 well the unfortunate thing about about this was due to AMD mostly AMD and
70:57 NVIDIA as far as I could tell and their support for this technology it was not
71:02 possible to install external graphics cards even though it was just a PCI
71:05 Express 4X link over Thunderbolt well
71:09 now and this was originally posted by random kit on the Forum MSI has taken it
71:15 into their own hands to release their new gs30 Shadow and gaming
71:21 dock so basically it's a 13.3 in
71:24 Notebook with just plain Intel onboard graphics and then a an external PCI
71:30 Express link to this box that will house
71:34 an external graphics card this is the
71:37 ultimate to me because for carrying
71:40 around I use an Ultrabook I'm not going
71:43 to carry around a g750 JZ all the time I
71:47 actually love the g750 Jay-Z JayZ is a pretty big dude great not this notebook
71:54 I actually love this notebook notebook it's incredibly well cooled it performs
71:57 really well it's done great for us on
72:00 shows or like if this thing's like glitching out and the CPU usage is
72:05 pinned at 100% And I'm trying to like capture footage or something I know I
72:08 can go to the g750 and it'll just be fine because it's basically desktop
72:14 power but the problem is I'm not going to carry that around with me all over
72:17 the place unless I need that power all over the place like at a show so
72:20 something like this is a great solution
72:24 out and about great battery life get home plug into the dock got your
72:28 peripherals got your 34 in Ultra wide
72:31 monitor yeah and that desktop grade
72:35 graphics performance I'm excit to bench the crap out of this thing that's what
72:38 I'm excited for me too speaking of benching the crap out of things um
72:43 totally not related to that at all but LG confirmed that they are sending us
72:46 their new curved
72:49 34 LG man be excited for a video about
72:53 that from him that's a that's happening I am either going to
72:58 conclude that it's the best thing ever or I'm going to conclude that it's the
73:02 best thing ever for people who want a curved monitor yeah both of those
73:07 conclusions will be pretty darn positive I already know this my favorite thing
73:10 about LG monitors too is that nobias my
73:14 favorite thing about LG monitors right now at least is that they can't um they
73:18 don't currently have some way to read all of the data on the Monitor and send
73:22 it back so you don't have to assign like six different check marks seeing that
73:26 you're okay with all of your data being theirs when you pry the product yeah the
73:29 monitors still don't suffer from those phone and uh Smart TV issues cuz I
73:35 really wanted to just get a G3 and be happy with that and then I was like it's
73:39 kind of a cool phone yeah it's pretty cool phone yeah yeah all right so
73:44 details of the new Moto G are available on Motorola site 5 in 720p screen
73:49 they're going much bigger across the uh across the entire lineup 8 and 16 gig
73:53 versions available SD card slot 16 gig plus SD card I'm kind of okay with but I
73:58 really wish we' move to 32 two front-facing speakers again go Motorola
74:02 is Motorola turning us into Motorola Fanboys over here slowly yeah but they
74:07 need to work on battery life my first cell phone was actually a Motorola mine
74:12 was I don't know what it was cuz it was horrible and it was the cheapest thing
74:15 they could get me that had a sliding front cuz I didn't want to flip one my
74:19 um my mom is hard of hearing so oh wait
74:23 smartphone my first smartphone was oh no not smartphone this is my first phone
74:27 what yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I know hold on hold on just calm your calm your
74:31 boobies what this is the Motorola vbox
74:34 my mom's heart of hearing so it wasn't so much so we all got them feel so it
74:38 wasn't so much about the phone call experience but more about the text and
74:43 this was one of the first options available ever in fact it might have
74:47 been the first with a full-fledged keyboard full quiry keyboard like an
74:53 actually a fairly good one I got got pretty fast on this thing and there are
74:57 no good pictures of it because like how could you take a good picture of that
75:01 back when this thing existed like 2 megapixels was pretty good for a digital
75:06 camera uh but we all had them in order to talk um in order to use voice
75:11 communication you actually had to use a headset beautiful not Bluetooth headset
75:16 mind you like wired inline headset or
75:19 they had this goofy stupid thing that like clipped onto the battery cover that
75:23 plugged into the headset Jack which wasn't very durable cuz apparently that
75:27 reminds me of like remember remember how you trick out your Game Boy Color like
75:31 all those like weird attachments and the lights never had a Game Boy Color oh did
75:35 you have I a game kid no you're a Game Gear Kid Game Gear kid how many how many
75:40 landfills are filled with the batteries that you used for that I actually that
75:43 was The Game Gear is the reason why you jumped to rechargeables was what drove
75:47 me to rechargeables yep that's fantastic yeah the Game Gear
75:50 singlehandedly moved me to recharable batter six right six
75:55 anyway sorry you were saying uh I don't remember okay I
76:01 thought I was just talking about yeah know I was talking about how the uh you
76:05 can attach that mic or whatever right and how you were explaining it reminded
76:09 me of all the attachments and stuff you could get for stuff like Game Boy Color
76:12 right or or Game Boy classic or a whole bunch of different game boys where you
76:15 get like the light or the weird screen protector thing or the screen magnifier
76:20 or like the grip thing and like oh my goodness or the chrome rims basically
76:26 subwoofer yeah speaking of chromed rims and subwoofers this was originally
76:30 posted by James 669 and Dell is showing
76:34 off their latest
76:38 5K monitor 4K that is so
76:43 2014 last quarter or this quarter next
76:47 quarter Dell will make available for the value price of
76:52 $2500 a 27 in
76:56 14.7 megapixel monitor this bad boy will
77:02 not be able to be driven by DisplayPort 1.2 in fact just to demo the thing they
77:08 had a Quadro 5000 running with dual
77:12 DisplayPort 1.2 outputs out to the Dual
77:17 inputs on the monitor I have to question why we need
77:22 this I can imagine this as a tech demo like I can see them creating this for a
77:27 trade show or something hey yeah oh yeah it's going to go on
77:30 sale it has a price already yeah yeah it
77:34 just feels like because we can I mean I'm already not sold on 4K because of
77:39 the scaling issues in Windows oh God once that gets addressed let's all go 4K
77:44 but right now it is not a great experience right now I think 1440p is
77:48 pretty awesome and I actually and that's one of the reasons I like LG's 34 in
77:53 Ultra wide so much is that it's the same pixel pitch as a 27in 1440p monitor but
77:59 it's 3440 X 1440 so it's a nice high resolution and it's B this isn't that
78:05 big it's only 27 inch it's very high resolution which means you're going to
78:09 have to deal with tech scaling and it's going to be very very difficult to run
78:13 in a way that doesn't increase immersion in any way so I love it because it's
78:19 better technology for the sake of better technology but I'm not a huge fan of um
78:24 the kind of Graphics horsepower you're going to need to drive this thing I
78:27 think that's actually more than our triple 1440p surround
78:33 setup yeah so I don't think I ever clarified the resolution that it runs at
78:38 in fact I oh yeah here we go 5120 by
78:42 2880 so that is twice the number of vertical pixels as a standard 27inch
78:47 Monitor and twice the uh horizontal
78:51 resolution in fact that's I didn't that didn't I didn't even clue into that this
78:54 is this is to to 1440p what 4K is to
78:59 1080p ridiculous yeah
79:02 ridiculous well someone's got to push the envelope yeah I hope it runs at 60
79:06 HZ based on that they needed two DisplayPort 1.2s I suspect it will yeah all
79:11 right so four speaking of 4K 4K Blu-ray discs are arriving in 2015 in an attempt
79:16 to fight back against streaming media this is post by dietr W and the original
79:20 Source here from CNET and we can look at
79:24 this Blu-ray disc logo and
79:28 um reminisce about a simpler time when
79:32 Optical media mattered you know I'm slowly moving away from physical games
79:36 yeah dog because it's pointless and stupid you were wrong all along still
79:40 actually really like hash Get Wrecked I would love to still be able to do it
79:45 poking me in the face it's probably not a good idea I'm sick that's true
79:50 um that doesn't work that way that might
79:53 have helped that's warm moist there but you now I put it on my touchpad there
79:57 you go I'm tell you where I'm going to put it next oh god um the only reason
80:02 why is because it is uh worthless because 99% of the time it just screws
80:07 up and makes you download it anyways mhm
80:10 if it actually had all of the usable data on the disc then I would still be
80:14 totally down I'm just floored we never went
80:18 USB why not every I I don't know anyone
80:21 who didn't think that was going to happen I thought it was yeah and they're
80:25 so cheap now like they're so Che okay
80:28 they're not as cheap as a sheet of plastic no I will give them that but I
80:33 got to wonder if someone had cared enough could a USB standard have been
80:39 developed that would have allowed for much cheaper more permanent storage I I
80:44 got to wonder I don't know enough about the technology to really speculate on
80:47 this but I and everyone else in probably
80:52 the digital you know gener generation
80:55 World figured that you were going to go into a store and this was back when we
80:59 thought stores weren't going away so you were going to go into a store and you
81:02 were either going to buy a USB drive that would contain the music album or
81:07 you would go in with your M with your USB drive and you would pick the album
81:11 you want you would sit and you would listen to it because you know previews
81:15 on iTunes who saw that coming and you would put the D put the media onto your
81:20 USB drive that way I'm I'm dating myself
81:23 a little bit here on little bit but I I
81:26 was in that HMV they still exist I know but who
81:31 cares still have one locally I I was in uh I was in the town I grew up in the
81:34 other weekend I went to the bird sanctuary and I drove past a blockbuster
81:39 that no no it's empty but the signage is still up because no one's taking over
81:43 the location and I was like oh hey that
81:48 thing I remember you I never there was that secret room in the back yeah I
81:54 never used Blockbuster cuz we didn't have one locally to me so when
81:57 everyone's like oh my God it's so weird seeing Blockbusters now that they're
82:00 closed I'm like nope don't care it's all about Willow
82:05 video for you yeah which they're still going strong they're still still around
82:09 somehow they're they're doing like better lately which makes no sense all
82:12 right TAA well you know what I think those nonchain types of stores probably
82:18 appeal to an older audience better yeah but then also their like game sales and
82:22 stuff is doing great and they still do cuz they but they do console games
82:27 largely right they're they're slowly moving away from PC games going sense
82:31 probably all right so TAA posted on the Forum Intel's new 14 nanometer chips so
82:37 Intel has made a lot of fuss over the last little while this original article
82:41 here is from bbc.com of all places BBC pretty sure there are a number of other
82:45 places that reported on this that are more technology Orient anyway um the
82:50 point is that they have finally launched the core m series which goes all the way
82:56 down to 4 and A2 watt CPUs based on
83:01 their new 14 nanometer process node manufacturing ridiculous yeah this is
83:06 amazing so Intel has actually been talking a fair bit recently about how
83:11 successful their move to 14 nmet has been which is great news especially when
83:15 you consider how rough it has been for a lot of other folks and how unexceptional
83:21 Intel's last process node migration was
83:24 no we're seeing better power characteristics we're seeing better
83:27 performance we're seeing all this great stuff that has improved not just in a
83:31 linear manner this time around so this is exciting Intel had initially aimed to
83:37 launch a full-fledged desktop lineup sooner but at least they now have
83:42 shipping chips that are going to be targeted at very low power and razor
83:46 thin fanless tablets without uh having
83:50 for without manufacturers having to resort to ARM-based CPU design signs so
83:55 this is incredibly exciting um in much
83:58 the same way that every time Intel completely changes the laws of how
84:02 processor work is incredibly exciting it's like that's Intel's a victim of
84:07 their own success in that way it's like yeah Intel like broke physics again
84:13 whatever same as they did last year it's not necess yeah I'm not going
84:18 to get into that anyways I was going to say it's not necessarily breaking
84:22 physics anyways no I know no one but they might be breaking what we
84:26 conventionally thought were the laws that's what I meant I know that's why
84:31 that's why I was like no one cares I'm probably like the only dude
84:36 here that actually you dork
84:39 anyways I like physics all right well I
84:42 think that's it for me do you have um anything else uh no there was rig of the
84:47 week voting is a thing yeah voting go to
84:51 build logs build log section of the Forum vote for give the like very large
84:56 spance of time because we're trying to
84:59 kind of catch up um so there's a lot of
85:03 rigs being voted on right now so weigh in and we will hopefully be blasting
85:07 that on a w show sometime soon um yeah I
85:12 have roped in wher and alpen waser to help me with Bill blogs so things are
85:18 actually properly happening now which are
85:22 good what I'm Luke Skywalker cuz that's
85:25 how the force worked in the original
85:30 trilogy you're like a wa there goes your ARM sua you're big
85:35 like one um not that kind of I mean that too
85:42 but uh anyway moving on what were we talking about oh right I forgot
85:46 Squarespace um we're doing our usual hashtag thing so it's the first
85:51 Squarespace integration of the month
85:54 so tweet your Squarespace a link to your
85:58 Squarespace site with # Linus
86:01 Squarespace and you will have a chance to win your site hosted for free for a
86:07 year nice and that will be on our next
86:11 Squarespace sponsorship spot where we will pick one of you and we will go
86:15 ahead and we will announce a winner free website for a year guys they have a
86:19 two-e trial and our next spot should be within the next couple of weeks so go
86:23 ahead and create your site and then you could win your site to continue
86:27 developing for a year so that's pretty cool I think that's pretty much it yeah
86:31 that's that's that's probably it oh there was the I think it was
86:34 overclockersuk or something had a listed
86:38 a graphics card in the description it was like get ready for um halflife 3 and
86:45 my phone going off is distracting me halflife 3 and GTA 5 launches should I
86:49 answer this and troll whoever it is sure hello
86:55 hi oh hi Mom you're on the show I know I
86:58 need to speak to lus your your mom's on
87:01 uh SHA home phone isn't
87:04 she no I think that's her note three oh
87:08 all right well at any rate all right all right what do we
87:12 got minus last the first time we took my
87:17 kid out of country you stuck him at the top of the top building in the world
87:22 when there was an earthquake on thisp uh well actually that was Western
87:27 digital's
87:31 idea uh L who's in
87:35 charge well
87:38 um one could argue I'm gonna go with the safe answer here and say my
87:43 wife ah yes okay let's go the second time you
87:48 took him out of the country you stuck him on the top of a mountain where he
87:52 was dizzy and throwing up not the second time yeah I think she means like the
87:56 second time that stood out to her which means she was deeply concerned for your
88:00 safety right okay uh what what what is it this time well the second time what
88:07 it means is when lius is in charge and he takes you out the country your life
88:11 is in danger okay I also asked to go on that
88:16 trip and now you want to take him to Germany uh Yes actually
88:23 that Germany safe yeah give me a heads
88:27 up on how you're going to try to kill him in Germany well the way that he
88:31 would be most likely to die in Germany
88:34 would be from how Politically Incorrect can I go with this you know maybe I
88:38 won't go there um so so the way the way that he would be most likely to die in
88:43 Germany would be probably from sensory overload from being surrounded by Cherry
88:48 MX key switches so it's pretty safe the
88:52 odds of that happening is probably only about
88:56 50/50 only 5050 okay question yes did
89:00 you take life insurance on Luke uh I
89:04 think he has it through the yeah I think you pay your own premium because that
89:09 way if you have to have it paid out it's
89:13 not taxable or something yeah Luke Luke pays his own premium but yes he does
89:18 have life insurance I believe but he I think he chooses his own beneficiary and
89:22 I don't think he picked me did you no oh all right then get
89:30 wed doesn't come back in 100% total
89:34 intact person I will be coming for
89:40 you all right thank you caller I think
89:43 it's time to uh I think it's time to go back to the phone boards and find
89:47 another caller um all right so guys
89:50 thanks for tuning in uh we'll see you again next week same bat Time same bat
89:54 Channel it'll be him and in all likelihood CES C his brother talking
89:59 about the same kind of stuff thanks again for watching we totally appreciate
90:03 you guys tuning in you guys have been amazing the last few weeks we've been
90:07 consistently over 5,000 live viewers on
90:10 the show Even if we factor out all of Luke's family members who apparently
90:14 watch and apparently everyone's like totally into the archive these days
90:20 every archive like 880,000 990,000 views
90:23 cool actually you guys are making us feel like an actual legit podcast these
90:27 days which is interesting which is kind of cool I listen to a lot of different
90:31 podcasts I look I look at podcasters who
90:35 are much bigger than us guys like Ray William Johnson so his runaway thoughts
90:39 podcast you can say what you want about Ray William Johnson's content the truth
90:43 of the matter is he's a much bigger deal than us in terms of sheer numbers in
90:48 every possible category he quit YouTube but he's still doing I think he still
90:51 does the podcast and he's still creating content and he didn't quit that long ago
90:55 so anyway the point is we're coming up
90:58 to the point now where it's not like when show gets like 12th as many views
91:03 as runaway thoughts it's like smaller or
91:07 bigger fractions rather so we're not there yet but but you guys are awesome
91:11 thank you very much we appreciate you guys we appreciate our sponsor Squarespace and Dollar Shave Club and
91:16 I've said this a few times now but we will see you next week except me I will
91:19 not
91:24 oh Dam it my brother's really into Mobile stuff and a lot of the stuff
91:29 recently is like next week is probably be mobile stuff so should be
91:34 good show I'm making my own theme song
91:39 it's All About The W show on the lightest tag tips we're riing now this
91:46 is the song that is so awesome
91:54 and we're done no we're not
91:59 done are um
