0:00 miniature but high performance graphics cards have been around for a while but
0:04 earlier models compromised performance for their petite size not to mention
0:10 that they really really ran hot it wasn't until the gtx970 minis in late
0:15 2014 and the Epic Radeon R9 Nano the
0:19 following year that these pint siiz pixel pushers became viable options for
0:24 really high performance mini computers
0:27 you can see our reviews of these cards by looking up here but what I have for
0:31 you today is an entirely new Beast Zotac
0:35 offering for 2017 is the world smallest
0:38 GTX 1080 but how does it perform and who
0:42 or what is it even for Zotac doesn't
0:45 really seem to know they they say it fits in 99% of cases then show things
0:50 ranging from what looks like a mid Tower up to Giant server cabinets then Show an
0:55 example of it installed in a case that could have totally fit an average size
1:00 graphics card with no other compromises what so come with me and
1:05 we'll cover both the performance of this unique card and a really cool use case
1:10 that actually benefits from its
1:21 compactness the be quiet! pure Bas 600 features a versatile design noise
1:26 isolation and is optimized for different liquid radiator configurations learn
1:30 more at the link below first things first let's check out their thermal
1:34 solution there's no point in putting a better GPU in a small package if it's
1:38 just going to Thermal throttle anyways it starts with a copper block directly
1:41 above the GPU with 5 6 mm copper heat pipes extending away into the aluminum
1:47 heat sink above that are two very different fans the one on the left is a
1:51 90 mm static pressure optimized fan while the one on the right is a 100 mm
1:56 airflow optimized fan they claim this combination produces ideal mixture for
2:01 maintaining strong air flow over key components the neutral colored shroud
2:05 and back plate are both made out of metal and it features a basic white
2:09 lighting setup RGB fiends will be disappointed but at least it shouldn't
2:13 conflict too much with anything in your system as it's all black gray or white
2:18 for I/O it features a standard Pascal setup three DisplayPort 1.4 ports one
2:23 HDMI 2.0b port and one dual link DVI
2:26 port and this is actually kind of cool I
2:30 guess it received a little bump of 26 MHz in terms of clock speed as well
2:35 although as you probably know your mileage may vary here due to GPU boost
2:39 3.0 which will automatically apply minor overclocks to your card based on spare
2:44 overhead in terms of thermals and power or throttle it down as needed when I
2:49 benchmarked the card against an EVGA superclock 1080 and an NVIDIA Founders
2:53 Edition 1080 I found that it performed pretty much right as expected slightly
2:58 better than the founders Edition slightly worse than the superclocked
3:01 card those results were true in DSX
3:04 mankind divided rise of the Tomb Raider and Ashes of the singularity so it
3:09 performs well for its size but why is it
3:13 its size well I'm going to pass over to Luke version 2 for that answer hey guys
3:18 Luke version 2 here I somehow got roped
3:21 into doing an upgrade to Linus' personal Media Center rig how did that happen
3:27 well it's a fascinating story involving a couple jet planes a well-trained
3:31 monkey and a pink and green car but we all know that's not what you want to
3:35 hear about so well let's skip right to it however it happened today my task is
3:39 to remove Linus' GTX 980 TI and replace
3:42 it with the Zotac 1080 mini theoretically thanks to efficiency
3:46 improvements since last generation's 900 series this will allow us to maintain
3:50 the same performance or probably better while consuming less power and while
3:54 freeing up space in the Silverstone sg-13 for an all-in-one water cooler in
3:59 this case the T series super slim from
4:02 Silverstone the 1080 mini runs a little bit colder than the 980 tii did which
4:07 makes sense because it's a pascal card and it does have a lot of room to
4:11 breathe through the side the CPU didn't do like that much better because it is
4:16 an all-in-one but there isn't a ton of radiator space it's a slim and it had a
4:20 slim fan as well but it's a little bit better and it does seem to be slightly
4:24 quieter as well which is good and there you have it it worked we were able to
4:29 fit an Allin one in this tiny ITX case
4:32 because of this graphics card it had enough room right at the end there to
4:36 make clearance between the radiator and the graphics card everything was fine
4:41 that's the use case being able to fit more things in your computer is the use
4:45 case if you're wondering what this is for there you go that's pretty much it
4:50 it's a good card it's slightly better than a Founders Edition and it's
4:53 slightly smaller it might look a little bit weird in certain systems if you have
4:57 a system where it has a very defined space for your graphics card you want to
5:02 fill that space this card might not be for you if you're going for maybe
5:07 something that doesn't have a window and you're not necessarily that worried about what it looks like and you want
5:12 the capability to do something interesting with it later on maybe this
5:15 card is for you or if you're trying to build something small and compact like
5:19 this guy right here then it would work perfectly tunnel bear is the simple VPN
5:24 app that makes it easy to browse privately and enjoy a more open internet
5:28 with tunnel bear turn turned on your online activity is kept private from

6:00 down below to see some of the stuff you found in this video like the Zotac 1080
6:04 mini and maybe some shirts not this shirt in particular but that shirt that
6:08 Luke 1 was wearing earlier that one I believe you can buy at the link down
6:12 below also down there is a link to the forums where you can talk about small
6:15 graphics cards and the positives and negatives of those things and in this
6:18 video right here you can watch I don't know it's a mystery video
6:25 I'm not going to tell you
