welcome to lus techtips today we're going to be doing an unboxing of the Intel core I3
0:13
2105 now this is a low-end processor so
0:16
it might not seem like it would be that interesting to you but it is and I will
0:20
tell you why this is part of their second
0:23
generation uh core ey series processors
0:27
so that means that it uses the sandybridge core and it has integrated
0:31
graphics on every single one whether it's a dual core or quad core this one
0:35
in particular is a dual core but I want you guys to come in here and have a
0:39
quick look at this so you got two cores you do have hyperthreading so that means
0:43
you've got four threads Intel HD graphics
0:46
3000 that's the interesting part so this is a low-end chip with a high-end
0:51
integrated Graphics cuz remember the second generation core series processors
0:56
have either hd2000 or HD 3,000 onboard
1:00
graphics and the only time we've seen HD 3000 in the past is with the K series
1:06
chips and quite frankly if you're buying a high performance hyperthreaded turbo
1:11
boost quad core processor what on Earth are you doing using your onboard
1:15
Graphics in most cases so this is the first skew that has a mix that that I
1:21
believe makes the most sense which is the low n CPU with the higher end
1:25
onboard Graphics so highend onboard Graphics means a couple of things first
1:29
of of all it means better performance in well games obviously it's still
1:34
integrated Graphics but it's on the CPU better performance in games it also
1:39
means better performance in um the the
1:43
HD graphics accelerated functionality such as Lucid virtue which is uh far
1:48
more interesting in my opinion than necessarily the performance of an Intel
1:53
HD 3000 graphic solution very very cool
1:56
technology I'm going to actually be doing a video on virtue very shortly but
2:00
I I I did some media conversions with it very impressive it's so fast okay we've
2:05
got an integrated memory controller with support for up to dual Channel DDR3
2:09
memory and a three-year limited warranty so this is all pretty much stuff we're used to now I'll show you guys the
2:14
product itself really quickly here but uh there's not going to be that much
2:18
interesting we've got a core I3 sticker we've got an Intel certified heat sink
2:22
solution so this is a very low power CPU
2:26
this particular little guy is rated at 65 Watts TDP so you got a really thin
2:30
thermal solution no copper slug necessary in the middle and you've got a
2:34
nice four pin pwm fan there and last but not least look at this environmentally
2:38
friendly packaging there's a little bit of plastic but overall not bad
2:42
definitely improving so there we have it
2:45
the core I3 2105 in all of its Glory it
2:49
fits in your standard LGA 1155 socket do not try to put this in an 1156 board it
2:55
will not work so the main reason for me unboxing this is actually because I want
3:01
to put it up head-to-head against AMD's
3:04
Apu so here I have an A8 Apu which is a
3:07
four core processor with uh discret level graphics and then this is Intel's
3:13
price similar two core processor also
3:17
with the highest end Intel onboard Graphics now bear in mind Intel CPUs
3:21
have much higher performance per core than AMD CPUs this one does have the
3:26
advantage of hyperthreading but this guy actually has for physical course so I
3:30
think that's going to be an interesting comparison which I will also be doing in
3:34
the near future as well so don't forget to subscribe to L techtips for more
3:38
unboxings reviews and other computer videos I'll show the box that's more
3:42
interesting
