0:00 Welcome to our review of the fractal design node 202 we first checked out
0:04 this case uh quite some time ago at computex 2016 and have actually had it
0:09 in the office for a while but the release has been a little wonko as in to
0:13 say actually buying the case has been a bit of an issue seriously there is even
0:17 a Reddit thread with people discussing if it even exists now that it does seem
0:22 to exist for people looking to buy it let's take a closer
0:28 look
0:34 ibw Revolt 2 has been redesigned from
0:37 the ground up to utilize its small form factor to hold the power you need to
0:42 game with confidence check out the link in the video description to learn more
0:45 you can see right off the bat that the form factor is quite small when laying
0:49 flat it has a width of 377 mm a height of 146 mm and a depth of 47 mm this case
0:56 is designed for sfx power supplies up to 130 mm long ITX motherboards and
1:02 standard siiz graphics cards or 310x 145 by 47 mm graphics cards that
1:09 was a lot of specific dimensions and there's a reason for that the density of
1:13 this case is pretty damn High not the highest but high enough that it doesn't
1:17 really allow for a ton of play in terms of what you can put inside if you're
1:22 interested in this case you should be checking the dimensions of the
1:25 components that you're planning to put inside of it this isn't a shot at the
1:29 case that all it's just a heads up that you need to be aware of its limitations
1:34 during your planning phase starting at the front of the case you have two USB
1:38 3.0 Jacks in a black finish dual audio
1:41 jacks for your headphone and microphone and an illuminated power button just to
1:45 the right of said Jacks there's also a fractal logo on the right hand side
1:50 which looks a little odd when you set the case up vertically but fits right in
1:54 when it's placed flat looking around the case is pretty standard Fair fractal
1:58 went with an unsurprising matte finish all around and definitely didn't skimp
2:03 on breathability with mesh areas scattered around everywhere that they
2:06 might be useful moving on to the inside of the case we see an elegant yet
2:09 simplistic setup comprised of three main zones the power supplies little area the
2:14 motherboard split off and the graphics cards whole section all have their own
2:19 kind of areas like I said if you go for the option that includes a power supply
2:23 you'll be equipped with a 450 W Integra
2:26 which should be able to handle basically everything modern that you would throw
2:29 inside this case the power supply area also somewhat supports a little bit of
2:33 cable management room just in front so you can stuff some of your extra cables
2:37 away and leave some breathing room for the air coolers on your CPU and GPU you
2:42 will very likely need this Cable Management Area unless you plan on
2:46 stuffing all of the spare cables under the graphics card because some of the
2:51 even included cables are hella long I
2:54 don't know why someone would need a USB 3.0 internal header cable that if you
2:58 stood two of these cases beside each other would be able to be plugged into
3:01 the other one that being said at least it is a blackedout cable if you do
3:06 spring for the included power supply and get the included cables that are kind of
3:11 straight out of 2005 with colors all over the place that may be a little bit
3:15 disappointing although it also may be fair considering that there is a lack of
3:19 a side window the motherboard area is fairly unsurprising although it does
3:23 support the start of the PCI Express Riser card you might notice that in the
3:27 Glam footage that the screw holes for ours are a little bit off feel free to
3:31 ignore this completely this is a pre-production sample and they have
3:35 revised this part of the case so that this is no longer an issue on the
3:38 graphics card side of the place you naturally have the installation area for
3:41 the graphics card an angled support bracket which you can move around to
3:45 support whatever kind of graphics card you decide to put in there and some
3:49 shared room for the front IO cables
3:52 there's also a bunch of extra room under the graphics card for support for 120 mm
3:57 fans two of them straddling the middle support bar of the case is an SSD cage
4:01 that you can mount two drives in this cage is relatively easy to get to the
4:05 only drawback is that the cable management of installing an SSD on the
4:09 graphics card side of the case is a little messy there are fan filters but
4:14 some of them are rather difficult to get to the filter for the power supply and
4:17 the GPU are only accessible if you take the case apart completely I mean taking
4:21 the top off and the bottom off although I must say that they are I am happy that
4:25 they're included and last but not least is the stand it's fairly stand Fair
4:30 sorry for the pun it's made out of plastic and is actually quite solid it
4:34 does an adequate job of keeping the case standing upright there's little rubber
4:37 feet on the bottom four of them one in each corner and they do an adequate job
4:41 of keeping it from sliding around the desk it looks fine but you can do
4:45 something that Hardware conu did in their video which I think is quite awesome we're just going to call them
4:48 out if you place it down and then put the case down horizontal on top of it it
4:52 makes it kind of look like the case is levitating it looks super cool in
4:55 conclusion the node 202 is clean quite
4:58 dense and even even slightly cheaper than the RV z01 from Silverstone in
5:03 terms of positioning I think fractal did a great job for price and what you get
5:07 with it it didn't exactly knock my socks off but I also wasn't expecting it to
5:12 these small ITX cases that still support full size graphics cards are actually
5:17 quite attractive right now and there's a fair amount of them the idea that a tiny
5:21 case with a tiny GPU like an R9 Nano is awesome but still not catering to what
5:26 most people's desires are so I think this was the right direction to go
5:29 thanks for watching guys if this video sucked you know what to do but if it was awesome get subscribed hit that like
5:34 button or even consider becoming a contributor on our Forum or supporting
5:38 us directly by using an affiliate code to shop on Amazon buying a cool t-shirt
5:43 like this one or with a direct monthly contribution to the Forum again I don't
5:46 know why you'd get two I just felt like saying it twice it's probably fine if
5:50 you're wondering what to watch next click this button to see a mystery video
5:55 I really just definitely forgot to write this part of the script so I'm going to
5:59 give Taran a link Oculus versus Vive Taran just said so it's going to be that
6:03 video there we go
6:06 cool
