0:01 so if my living room was at work um this
0:05 is probably what it would look like I'm here with my ifinity triple 46 in setup
0:13 that I'll be using for an episode of tech tips that may be up before but it
0:18 may be up after this video actually goes up so I just want to take you on a
0:21 little tour through the uh the construction because if you actually
0:26 look around the room you can see it's kind of a you know an empty space so I
0:32 figured hey why don't we use this for our for our setup and uh yeah so here
0:37 let's walk through it so I found this couch um upstairs where people have to
0:42 wait so anyone who had to wait for anybody today had to stand because I
0:46 borrowed it we've got the Phantom lapboard right here so you can see that
0:50 this guy uh we I did an unboxing recently but it's a laser mouse and
0:55 rotating keyboard with a mousing surface on the bottom of it great game
1:00 controller when you're sitting on the couch I've got a wireless Xbox 360
1:03 controller with my griet rubberized uh
1:07 analog stick covers all right I got my remote for the TV uh over here I've got
1:12 the TVs themselves so these are all Samsung LCDs they aren't LED backlit
1:16 they're not super high-tech the total cost for these three TVs at a big box
1:20 store was $3,000 so I mean y's a lot of
1:24 money but it's not actually Out Of Reach to set up something like this which is
1:28 pretty cool because the technology has just come so far I've got my box for the
1:32 Phantom lap board I had to kind of um
1:36 well this is random but I had to sort of
1:39 jury rig something to actually put the monitors on so these are all antech df30
1:44 boxes because they're quite sturdy and they're just kind of a you know glossy
1:47 black box so they look pretty nice this is actually my media PC from home um so
1:52 this is a Silverstone sgo1 which in my
1:55 opinion was the best Sugo ever although the SG3 is pretty good too I've got a
2:00 little Imon display which I actually I don't have the application open right
2:03 now but it shows me like what media is playing the date and time uh inside I've
2:07 got a core i5 750 quad core with a
2:11 custom CA and Tech true power 550 W you can see my 8 pin connector for example
2:16 is only exactly long enough to reach the 8 pin connector on the motherboard got a
2:20 zman CPU Cooler in there keep things nice and cool nice and quiet and then uh
2:26 normally I keep a fairly modest video card in here but as you can see I have
2:30 clearly upgraded it to the Radeon 6870
2:33 and what's really cool about this card is as you'll see in my length comparison
2:37 on my blog it's not actually that long so you can install it quite easily in a
2:42 media oriented or a mini ATX case and
2:46 it'll still work just great so I got my wireless I got a Gigabyte motherboard in
2:50 there uh okay I think that's pretty much it I got my steam drive so you can see
2:54 my steam drive back here runs off USB 3
2:57 contains all my Steam games cuz I use an SS SD for my home computer so there's
3:01 not enough space to store my like 50 something Steam games um so I found that
3:06 that solution actually works pretty well for me so this is oh crap that one came
3:11 undone the HDMI cable I'm using is a little bit finicky there we go all right
3:15 so we can here we can even go around the back and sort of check out how everything's hooked up at the back so as
3:20 you may or may not know ifinity requires at least one display
3:25 port compatible uh monitor so since most
3:29 TV in fact all do not have DisplayPort what we're using is an active display
3:33 port adapter back here so that's a mini DisplayPort to DVI active adapter it
3:38 means it costs about 100 bucks and you actually have to power it via a USB port
3:44 so that's back there and that one is running over to the far monitor then
3:48 we're using native HDMI to HDMI for the middle Monitor and last but not least
3:53 we're using a DVI to HDMI cable for the
3:56 left monitor when looking at them from the front so what that means is that
4:00 we're using all Native digital signals but we are using adapters so the image
4:07 quality is all going to be identical it's just a matter of cables at the back
4:13 so um there you have it that's a little tour of the setup here so if you don't
4:18 mind I'm just going to sort of oh yeah right cameraman's reminding
4:24 me of something we had discussed that I totally forgot so what I want you guys
4:28 to do is leave a comment at uh on the bottom of this video and
4:32 say first of all if you installed this
4:36 setup in your living room tonight would you sleep tonight and second of all if
4:42 you installed this what would you do how
4:45 would you make this setup better to suit your personal needs
