welcome to my unboxing of Corsair's SP
0:10
or static pressure series of fans so you can see I've got a couple dual packs
0:14
here of the high performance Edition and the quiet Edition now the only
0:18
difference between a high performance Edition fan and a quiet Edition fan is
0:24
the RP the stock RPM at which it spins at 12 volts so here let's go ahead and
0:30
now I talked a lot about this in the flow series fans or the AF series fans
0:34
unboxing but it remains relevant here so I will continue to talk about it where
0:38
has Corsair innovated when it comes to fans because it's a very crowded Market
0:42
everyone in their dog has a line of fans and what they think is interesting about
0:46
it so Corsair has done a number of things first of all they have gone the
0:50
root of some of their competitors who have different fans that are optimized
0:54
for different things so nocta for example has their pressure optimized
0:57
pseries fans as well as their directed airf flow and pressure optimized f-s
1:01
series fans okay so corser has SP and
1:05
then they also have AF Series right there we go you can see they use very
1:10
very different designs so that's one of the ways to innovate is you create fans
1:14
that are properly optimized for the different usage scenarios you think your
1:18
users will encounter this one for pressure they have also added something
1:22
that I think is really cool so you just use a screwdriver to pop the ring off or
1:25
you can do it with your hands if you want um and you can replace it with red
1:29
or or white whatever color you prefer whatever color you think will accent
1:34
your rig the best I mean I hope Corsair comes out with even more colors in the
1:37
future because that just looks like the
1:40
bees knees in my personal humble opinion
1:44
okay what else can you do you can improve Aesthetics right all black
1:47
cables all black connectors Corsair is already very good at that very clean
1:51
looking Hub designs I mean I I hate ugly
1:55
fans or I hate good-looking fans that then have like a big gy sticker on the
1:59
back of just drives me crazy um you can do that you can reduce vibration so
2:04
they've used a very unique design here where they've got rubber here rubber
2:07
here so rubber on both of the outsides rubber filling in the entire inside of
2:11
what would normally be an open uh open Corner fan and then but you can still
2:16
access the insides in case you need to run a bolt through it or whatever else
2:19
the case may be so I think that's really cool because they've reduced vibration
2:22
from every possible angle on their their
2:25
new series both serieses of fans
2:31
I think double packs are actually more cool than uh people give them credit for
2:35
because you can save a couple bucks just by getting a double pack and quite honestly who needs one fan in the first
2:40
place so let's talk about the applications what are the pressure fans for if you have something like a case
2:45
with a very restrictive front panel so if you don't have a mesh front panel
2:50
like for something like um you know an a
2:53
Corsair 300r where it's a very open front panel if you have something that's
2:57
more like a 650d you might want to opt with a pressure series fan if you have
3:02
something like a Corsair h100 see how restrictive that is how little actual
3:06
space there is for the fan to push air through well if you were to use an
3:10
airflow series fan it would be and I mean this is okay
3:14
this is not very technical this is like very surface okay guys it would be very
3:18
leaky so to speak so it would try to push the air through try to use these
3:23
very Scoopy very flat propeller-like
3:26
blades to push the air through it
3:30
but it would leak it would spit air back up through the fan which reduces the
3:34
efficiency and reduces how much air flow you actually get through your radiator
3:38
and fan noise basically goes up in a linear fashion with RPM the faster you
3:44
spin your fan the louder it is so if you have to waste Cycles spinning faster in
3:48
order to push the air through you're just going to have a noisier experience
3:52
whereas with their pressure series fence you can see they have a much broader and
3:57
uh lower uh lower count of the propeller
4:00
blades so what that means is that when these spin they're more of a constant
4:05
downward pressure as opposed to moving through as much air if they were in a
4:10
completely open environment like this so that is why these are optimized for high
4:16
uh high pressure applications such as this where there's a lot of restriction
4:20
or resistance to the flow of air so there you go that is why there are two
4:25
different series of fans that is what Corsair has done to innovate and I think
4:29
that that pretty much covers it so thank you for checking out my unboxing and first look at Corsair's static pressure
4:35
SP series of fans and don't forget to subscribe to Linus Tech tips for more
4:39
unboxings reviews and other computer videos and don't forget every fan includes three different rings so you
4:44
have white blue and red you configure your fan the way you want to of course
4:49
there's done a lot of engineering a lot of testing to make these fans what they
4:53
believe are going to be pretty much the best option out there so uh once we have
4:57
some more time to spend with our data hopefully we'll be able to back up that conclusion don't forget to subscribe to
5:01
lus Tech tips for more unboxings reviews and other computer videos sorry guys I
5:05
forgot to show the accessories that are included for black screws got to love
5:08
those nice little finishing touches from Corsair again all black wires black
5:13
sleeving black connectors nice little finishing touches they also have a
5:18
little thing about not returning the product to the store and contacting Corsair as well as of Corsair Solutions
5:22
guide showcasing their different products because at this point they have so many products that you could almost
5:26
build an entire PC with nothing but like Corsair
5:30
Intel and then I suppose You' need like a motherboard and a graphics card or
5:33
something
