0:01
so I recently unboxed the AMD fenom 2 X6
0:04
1090t Black Edition and now I'm going to be doing its little brother the X6 1055t
0:10
this is not a black edition processor but it's not a you know purple not as
0:15
strong Edition processor either this is still a six core processor it's clocked
0:20
a little bit slower than the 1090t at 2.8 GHz and up to 3.3 GHz in Turbo core
0:25
mode so that means that when you're running anywhere from 1 to three
0:28
software threads it's going to clock three CPUs within okay three cores up to
0:34
3.3 GHz and then it'll take the other three and clock them down in order to
0:38
stay within the thermal specifications that AMD set out for this processor okay
0:43
so like they're saying here it's a true six core design with nine Megs of total
0:47
cash it uses socket am3 which means that it is a drop in replacement this is one
0:51
of the most impressive things about this processor into existing am3 motherboard
0:57
so it has support for both ddr2 and DDR3
1:01
and there are supposedly over a 100 boards at launch that with just a BIOS
1:06
update they will support the brand new six core processors AMD's really done a
1:10
terrific job with their engineering team making sure that their new processors
1:14
will work in their old boards so the 1055t includes the same heat sink by
1:19
default as the 1090 you can see it uses a copper slab at the bottom it's got
1:24
heat pipes soldered if you want more details on the heat sink I guess you could watch the other video it's got
1:29
fins here and has a 60 mm fan that's
1:32
pretty much all there is to really say about it next we have AMD's
1:35
documentation oh and we have a phom 2 case badge very nice I like it okay then
1:41
we have AMD's certificate of authenticity as well as their warranty
1:45
terms and we have inst oh how to recognize AMD sockets that's pretty
1:49
useful so they show you everything from socket 754 up to socket F 1207 all right
1:55
if we unfold this you'll see that we have an installation guide for how to
1:59
install the CPU and the uh heat sink so
2:02
here's the one for am2 am2 plus and am3
2:06
eight steps pretty straight forward if you've ever installed a CPU before you
2:10
shouldn't have too much trouble with it and now let's have a look at the CPU
2:14
itself I apologize for going through a little bit quickly on this one but the
2:17
cameraman has an important social event that he has to attend so I don't want to
2:22
I don't want to keep him for too much longer here so here is the Phenom 2 X6
2:27
955 T I will did I say 955 I meant 1055t
2:32
I will actually be doing um an overclocking guide featuring this exact
2:36
processor where I take the sample that I received and turn it all the way up to 4
2:41
GHz six threads so uh stay tuned for
2:44
that here's your am3 socket with I believe it's 941 pins as I recall and
2:51
thank you for checking out my unboxing of the AMD Phenom 2 X6 6 core processor
2:56
this is the 1055t
