welcome to my unboxing and first look at the most exciting dual 120 millimeter
0:12
radiator pre-filled maintenance-free liquid cooler from Corsair
0:17
since the h-100 this is
0:22
the Corsair h100i and we are going to unbox it and we are going to find out
0:27
what is better about it than the original 8100 because i can already tell
0:30
you one thing based on the picture those fans are so much better than the ones
0:35
that are included with the h100 that it is not even funny anymore those are
0:40
looking like corsairs sp series fans and those are some serious business pretty
0:44
cool fans so let's have a look at what we got on the outside of the packaging to start with here so okay extreme
0:49
performance liquid CPU cooler i can believe that all right we got some cool
0:53
specs bro and some sort of okay moving right along we've got some comparisons
0:58
to the Intel box cooler which is just totally unfair to this cooler why do
1:02
they compare to the Intel box cooler what's the point of that they should
1:06
compare to other high performance coolers because it can show itself as
1:10
being like pretty ass kicking at that level as well hydro series requires the
1:14
case with two 120 millimeter fan mounts on top with 15 millimeter spacing for
1:18
standard dual radiators okay magnetic mounting bracket and mounting hardware
1:22
Corsair link cable those are two other very cool things that are included with
1:26
this coolest so what is a magnetic mounting bracket i
1:30
have no idea stop don't return it to the store and product solutions guide ah
1:35
manual ooh warranty information notification for australian consumers
1:39
this is a sample from Corsair so i guess they sent me an australian sample
1:43
uh okay so you got some pretty cool instructions for how to install the back
1:47
plate the fans and radiators the mounting bra oh cool i love it oh i'm
1:52
super excited about this okay so let's start
1:55
with the cooler actually i lied we're not going to start with the cooler we're going to start with other stuff we're
1:59
going to get everything out of the box we'll be back in a moment all right so everything you see in front
2:03
of me is extremely exciting because it's all part of this whole package deal
2:08
thing that we got going on here so first things first
2:12
the most boring possible part all the screws and mounting hardware and whatnot
2:17
so you got all the screws you need to mount your fans to your rad you got all
2:20
the screws you need to mount your Intel whatnots to your Intel other whatnots
2:25
and then you've got these little pieces for for mounting on AMD these guys are for
2:30
putting around your CPU sockets so this is pretty similar to what we saw on the
2:34
original h100 except for the coolest thing ever check this out instead of a
2:39
sort of no offense to the previous generation Corsair product but kind of
2:43
horrible and total pain in the butt
2:46
system that we had before now if you want to change what socket you want to
2:50
mount on you just go like that and then you put your uh here so you put
2:55
your little brackets under here if you want to mount on AMD just like that you
2:58
put the screw on the top of it and it's done then you can just pull it off like
3:01
this no big deal
3:04
Intel mount just like this no big deal
3:09
so awesome this is great for guys like me
3:12
who are swapping uh sockets all the time and it's just oh
3:16
just freaking awesome universal backplate for everything from lga uh 11
3:21
55 and 11 56 to 1366 to 2011. actually
3:25
sorry not uh 2011 2011 is done using
3:29
these ones right here so it does uh doesn't this one is not needed but this
3:34
piece will still be used for 2011. this is the universal one so pretty much any
3:38
Intel socket you can imagine can be mounted to with this cooler and i'm
3:42
actually going to check on the back of the box and see if they have support for
3:46
looks like yeah no it doesn't go all the way back to 775. however quite frankly
3:50
if you're spending over 100 on a CPU cooler for your 775 CPU then you need to
3:54
adjust your priorities all right
3:57
two things here check this out you can control not only the two fans that are
4:02
included with the h100i using one of these little adapters right here that
4:06
takes your four pin or three pin fan you can do whichever you want
4:10
and uses the built-in Corsair link software
4:16
that can be controlled from your desktop to adjust your fan profiles and monitor
4:20
your coolant temperature and all kinds of cool stuff like that but you can also
4:24
plug in another one totally optional you don't have to plug it in it's up to you
4:28
the choice is yours you're the consumer and you can control an additional two
4:31
fans just like that so cool love to see
4:34
these kinds of options and Corsair is so good in aesthetics
4:38
every wire is black it just looks perfect like everything
4:43
about it is just just perfect just awesome Corsair link
4:48
interfaces with your system using a simple usb connection so all you got to
4:51
do is plug this guy into here so you're going to go ahead you're going to have that on your socket you're gonna
4:55
run this around the back of your motherboard and plug it into your usb
4:59
header on your motherboard oh and this looks way better than the older one as
5:03
well actually this everything about this is better that looks fantastic let's go
5:06
ahead and take this off so you guys can really see it nice glossy Corsair logo
5:11
going on there very very very very sleek
5:15
uh the fans let's talk about the fans that are included so these are kind of
5:19
like a like a okay i hate to use this word but kind of
5:22
like a cheapo version of the sps where they have the same blade design the same
5:27
frame design but we lose the rubber mounts we lose the um the
5:32
interchangeable colored rings so these are things that are just kind of too
5:35
expensive for an included oem style fan this is kind of cool though there's
5:39
little spots to mount what appears these look like led mounts but they don't go
5:43
all the way through but slick was saying you could just kind of drill through and you could probably mount leds on it
5:47
which would be pretty sweet and there's sort of an off color but it'll still
5:50
look very sort of matching in high performance once
5:54
they're spinning and they're on your uh they're on your rad like that it's gonna
5:57
look outstanding so you get two of those these are way better than what was
6:01
included with previous generation products because these broad blades and
6:05
the way that they're swept aren't great for moving a ton of air in an open
6:10
configuration like this but they're fantastic for moving enough air through
6:15
a very very tight fin matrix like this
6:18
you can check out my episode on the ncixcom channel where i
6:23
uh introduced the sp series fans and talked about how much better they are
6:27
for certain applications now let's get to the cooler itself the
6:31
radiator hasn't changed much you got your standard radiator mounting size you
6:36
got your these look like the same fin density so nothing's really changed here
6:39
but Corsair has increased the size of
6:42
the coolant hoses they've also dramatically improved the quality of
6:47
them check this out even though this is 3 8 inch tubing you can do pretty much
6:52
whatever you need to do with it to get it to your CPU socket this is way better
6:56
than what we saw included on the h100 in fact i have an h100 over here that you
7:00
guys can come have a look at so see this used a corrugated plastic that was um it
7:06
wasn't going to kink or anything but it wasn't very flexible and it didn't allow
7:10
you to manage it very easily so this is definitely way better nice and soft
7:16
and we've still got these are rotating fittings so that you can get it wherever
7:21
you need to get at the bottom is copper which it better be and it's got
7:25
pre-applied very high quality thermal compound you probably won't even see
7:28
much improvement from changing that out to something that's you know an aftermarket thermal compound so thank
7:33
you for checking out my unboxing and first look at the Corsair h100i i've
7:37
recommended the Corsair h100 probably a hundred times on twitter or facebook or
7:42
wherever else and i will do this exactly the same thing to this one because it is
7:46
so much better than single radiator solutions and the build quality this
7:50
looks just outstanding the Corsair link software is a bonus and the fact that it
7:54
now includes very competitive performance fans where
7:59
previously the h100 had fans that you'd probably want to replace don't forget to
