0:00 okay so today i'm unboxing a couple of zowie gear products as you can see i'm
0:04 in the cameraman's office so i am finally back at work after my boat with
0:08 the swine flu um honestly i know nothing about zowie as a company except that
0:14 they make gaming peripherals we don't actually carry them yet however i'm
0:18 going to have a look at these evaluation products and check out what i think of
0:21 them so this headset is called the hammer it should fall around like a
0:26 69.99 79.99 sort of price range it has
0:29 uh some guy on it who says it's really good
0:33 and then it has another guy who also says it's really good okay so it's
0:36 designed for esports so that means it's designed for sports that you do not
0:40 leave your armchair in order to do
0:44 the very best kinds of sports obviously okay so we'll start with the headset and
0:49 they also have a mouse pad which is the g
0:52 tf or two face okay so headset here the build quality
0:56 actually there's nothing particularly exceptional
1:01 about it but it feels like it's going to be pretty comfortable when i go ahead
1:05 and put this on my head so i'm just going to figure out which way okay so
1:08 the ARM here is a little bit stiff for the huge huge microphone which looks
1:13 like it should be pretty good it's like an enormous microphone in there i
1:17 don't know why you would need that but either way that's pretty cool so this is
1:21 the left ear so i should probably be putting the uh this turns all the way
1:25 around okay so i should probably put that over there so i'm gonna check out
1:29 the uh comfort level here how do i look
1:33 cameraman is making kind of like a weird face at me this isn't actually flexible
1:38 which is something i don't really like so you can't adjust how far the mic sits
1:41 away from your head however they're incredibly light which i guess is one
1:46 huge advantage of such a such a slim design and another thing that i've
1:50 noticed about them as i had them on is that they are using a closed design
1:56 so that means that sound is going to be a little bit more tinny
1:59 you're going to get a little bit less bass but the advantage is going to be that
2:04 directionality is much better other people can't hear what you're
2:08 listening to and you can't hear any outside noises like i can hardly hear
2:13 myself talk when i have these on much like the sennheiser pc350s
2:17 okay so it also comes with uh what do we
2:20 got here oh okay we've got an on
2:24 on the on the cable we have a switch for the mic as well as a volume control this
2:28 feels pretty cheap and cheesy but uh i don't think the clip is going anywhere
2:32 anytime soon so it should be durable enough from that perspective then we
2:36 have let's see pretty short cable but it looks like
2:40 this little accessory package here comes with an extension cable so that you can
2:45 either plug into the back of a keyboard on your desk or you can reach around all
2:49 the way and reach around or you can reach around all the way to the back of the case okay it also comes with a
2:54 couple of foam ear pads
2:58 so you can actually replace the pleathery ones that come with it and it
3:02 looks like oh this is actually really easy to do with foam ones should you prefer that
3:09 feel on your ears of velour or whatever
3:12 you want to call this material okay let's move on to the mouse pad i'm just
3:15 going to cough once here sorry about that
3:18 okay i'm not still not feeling 100 quite yet okay so this is the g tfs or the two
3:24 face it is a spawn okay whatever that means it has this
3:28 badass looking guy on it all right and it says okay what is unique about
3:33 this mouse pad is that it is a hundred percent cloth but it is as fast as
3:37 plastic because it actually uses a plastic coating over top so that's kind
3:43 of like the steel series 5l which is a
3:46 cloth pad with a plastic layer on top
3:49 except that this is not a hard pad this is actually still a rollable
3:54 sort of actual cloth pad whereas the 5l
3:58 sips on like a plastic back substrate
4:03 sort of thing so this is a quite a large mouse pad as you can
4:06 see here with it in front of me so i've got the cameraman's like ghetto mouse
4:10 here which totally sucks but in terms of
4:13 in terms of glide actually i can't really see it being any faster than the
4:17 qck that i'm using at home but i do like the rough textured feel quite a lot if
4:22 you can i don't know how the cameraman is going to sort of capture that but
4:26 have a look and i also really like how thick it is this is quite a thick mouse
4:30 pad and it has nice nice woven edges
4:34 which is something that i've noticed about my qck is the edges are getting
4:37 quite frayed and i can see that this would cause that to not happen the back
4:42 is a rubberized very grippy i'm just obviously you'd never use a mouse on the
4:46 back of a mouse pad never do that it's stupid but i'm putting a mouse on the
4:50 back of it so that i can demonstrate it's quite grippy when you put it down
4:54 on the desk and it's not going to move if even if you lift your mouse and kind
4:58 of do that sort of thing anyway thank you for checking out my unboxing of the
5:02 zowie gear hammer and two face
5:05 mouse pad
