0:00 so I believe this is one of the first h61 boards that I'm unboxing so the h61
0:05 is basically like the h67 except cheaper
0:09 so there's a couple small changes like it only supports two memory slots unlike
0:15 the h67 which supports
0:18 four and I'm pretty sure there's something else too oh yeah I don't
0:21 believe there's any support for SATA 3 6 gbit per second which to anyone buying
0:25 sort of an L Cheapo chipset board
0:29 probably doesn't matter that much so this is a Gigabyte board it features
0:32 Ultra durable 2 which is like sort of last generation Ultra durable including
0:37 Japanese solid capacitors 4 plus 1 plus one phase power which is pretty basic I
0:42 mean okay let's set our expectations somewhere realistic for this board it is
0:47 2011 select uh uses the B3 stepping
0:51 which means that there are no issues with the SATA 2 ports so that is really
0:55 important basically any uh h61 h67 p67
0:59 board bu you want to make sure it's using the B3 stepping and it features
1:05 uh something in Spanish which
1:10 um is interesting because this is
1:13 something that I pulled out of our warehouse but I think what they mean is
1:16 three-year warranty and that applies to North America as well as Latin America
1:20 as far as I know so there you go nothing different other than the language here
1:25 we got dual BIOS as well as 3 tbte plus hard drive support with hybrid EFI techn
1:29 technology which means it doesn't use a fully UEFI BIOS but it does have some of
1:34 the benefits 108 D sound to noise ratio
1:38 okay three times USB power which is a really neat feature basically allows
1:41 Gigabyte boards that feature that feature to deliver more power to the USB
1:46 ports which means if you have multiple devices plugged into a hub or if you're
1:49 using a high powerered device uh that requires more energy to charge then uh a
1:54 Gigabyte board will be more capable of charging it than another board so here
1:58 there's a little warning don't use socket 1156 CPU thanks Gigabyte users
2:03 manual as well as a driver and utilities
2:06 dvd one IO Shield silver two SATA cables one right
2:13 angle one straight blue and some environmentally friendly
2:18 cardboard packaging and finally the motherboard itself so basic board like
2:23 this we're not going to find any fancy schmancy heat sinks or uh
2:30 you know gaming features or SLI or
2:33 Crossfire we're going to find a basic board that does what it sets out to do
2:37 it is also kind of a smaller than standard microatx Port so you can see it
2:42 has four slots like standard matx but it's not as wide as a normal matx board
2:46 let me grab one just to actually here here's an ATX
2:50 board uh no this is an matx board which is also a no no this might be a standard
2:55 width one no I think this one's a little bit narrow too okay give me give me a sec give me a sec here guys there's a
2:59 standard width board so that's an ATX board but they should be the same width
3:03 so basically what Gigabyte's doing is they're saving a little bit of money on the materials and also making it so you
3:08 don't have to put in as many screws cuz it's a fairly basic board design especially now that motherboards don't
3:13 really have memory controllers on them or North Bridges there's a lot less
3:16 logic so you can easily build it onto a smaller PCB so let's go and have a look
3:20 at the layout so here's our 1155 socket the h61 chipset does not support any
3:25 overclocking so you're not going to need a whole lot more than the 4 plus one
3:28 phase power design that it is designed to deliver I mean you can't overclock
3:33 okay even if you have an unlocked CPU you can't overclock it so bear that in
3:37 mind we've also got a four pin power connector up here in the top left in its
3:41 ideal location we've got two DDR3 memory
3:45 slots a 24 pin power connector over here on the right in its ideal location we
3:51 have four SATA 2 3 GB per second ports
3:54 we have one PCIe 16x slot and it claims
4:00 ATI Crossfire X although I can tell you guys now it's not going to perform very
4:03 well because you can see that this PCI e6x slot is only actually wired up to 4X
4:09 so you're not going to get all the bandwidth to that bottom slot although apparently it will work in crossfire
4:14 mode should you so desire here we have two PCI slots which is appropriate for a
4:18 board like this because many people using these entry level boards are going
4:21 to have Legacy PCI Hardware that they would want to install uh your front
4:25 panel USB is here there's no USB 3 on this particular motherboard
4:30 uh you've even got look at that you got a parallel printer port header so this
4:34 is really for the upgrader market here's your front ports so your power reset
4:39 LEDs uh front panel audio they've moved it this is a good location for it
4:43 compared to up here which we're used to seeing on gigabite motherboards in the
4:46 past here we go we've got two PS2 ports once again aimed at that upgrade Market
4:51 VGA as well as DVI HDMI and DisplayPort won't be necessary six USB 2 ports so
4:57 that coupled with the two headers gives you a a total of 10 usb2 ports uh wow I
5:04 guess it's gigabit Ethernet why don't we double check that because uh this is
5:08 like I said pretty entry level so it may not actually be gigabit Ethernet so we
5:14 are going to consult a users manual which happens not very often on my show
5:19 and we're going to find out yeah gigabit Ethernet there you go real Tech gigabit
5:23 Ethernet and finally 5.1 audio out thank
5:28 you for checking out this unboxing on lonus Tech tips don't forget to
