0:00 so today I'm going to be having a look at The Cooler Master hyper 212 plus this
0:04 is a very popular uh value heat sync
0:08 because it provides nearly the performance of much more expensive heat
0:11 sinks it has a wide range of compatibility including core i7 Core i5
0:16 core I3 and am3 so it fits on basically anything and it also features some
0:21 traditionally more expensive high-end features like heat pipe direct touch as
0:25 well as a 120 mm fan and in add addition
0:30 to that it also works with a dual fan and push pull so you can you can really
0:34 load this thing up like you can't really do with a lot of lower end heat sinks in
0:39 this sort of a price range so it didn't look like there was a seal on here but
0:43 it turns out that there is and I'm going to have to get like a key or something
0:47 to break the seal you know I really should have a knife on hand ahead of
0:52 time for doing these but ah you know what I'm just going to peel the sticker
0:56 off that would work better yes there we go
1:00 that worked out really well for me okay so let's see what we're going to find
1:04 inside of the Box first we will find a plastic clamshell style of packaging
1:09 okay and then let's see what we got in here in terms of accessories so there we
1:15 go all right so first thing we find a
1:18 multi back plate so this back plate is compatible with am3 as well as lga8 775
1:25 1156 and 1366 it has all the necessary
1:29 holes and and you can see from the way that they lift it up that is how they
1:33 get compatibility with both Intel and AMD because with Intel this will sit
1:38 flush with the back or it'll have to lift up over the 1366 back plate but
1:42 with AMD it actually has a significantly larger back plate that it has to oh no
1:47 wait no I guess with AMD they're not even oh this is kind of okay now I'm a
1:52 little bit confused I'm not going to pretend to know how this mounts because
1:55 it looks like there's like some kind of a sticker backing on the back here okay
2:00 forget it all right moving forward we
2:03 have more accessories including an instruction manual which is tucked into
2:07 the back of the little fan shell so I'll go ahead and pull up the instruction manual first maybe maybe on camera I can
2:13 figure out exactly how that backplate works so wow this is like huge okay
2:19 first of all there's your warranty information slip okay so that's going to
2:23 tell you all about the warranty in a bunch of different languages wow that's
2:27 a lot of different languages it's like nine on each side even has Serbian and
2:31 Turkish awesome I love it you can tell a company is is properly International
2:36 when you know I mean here same thing here's our instruction guide wow that is
2:42 like everything check this
2:46 out and then all along the other side
2:50 all these different languages okay so the English one says how do we do this
2:55 oh I was right the first time it looks like for LGA 1156
3:00 the back plate actually um lifts up off the back okay whereas for
3:06 AMD we're actually using the back plate
3:09 looking thing on yeah we flip it around the other
3:13 way okay I get it so for AMD you put it on this way for Intel you put it on this
3:19 way yes there we go we figured it out
3:22 awesome okay so inside here we're going to find all of the other mounting
3:26 hardware that we need including the hold down for the front so you can I mean
3:30 this is very obvious you can see this is for AMD that's for Intel and then these can
3:36 be moved back and forth I'm not sure if they slide or if you have to actually
3:40 take them out I can't tell but these will actually move in and out depending
3:45 Which Intel you are using 775 1156 or
3:49 1366 very ingenious hold down this uh
3:53 looks like some kind of fan Mount yep
3:56 all right and then in here we'll find yeah the rest of to the hardware I'm not
4:00 going to go and pull out all these screws I don't want to lose them but that's all the other stuff you'll need
4:04 as well as some Cooler Master thermal paste nice of them to include that for
4:08 you all right okay so let's have a look
4:11 at the heat pipe cooler itself so the fan is pre-attached oh yeah I get it
4:16 okay so these additional Clips here are they they even include the clips for you
4:20 so you can put these on either side and then you can attach your second fan
4:24 right out of the box if you have another fan and you have four mounting screws for it that's terrific Okay so as I
4:29 mentioned before this is a heat pipe direct touch cooler so that means the
4:33 heat pipes are all flattened along the bottom so they actually do make direct
4:38 contact with your CPU I wouldn't be doing this right if I didn't do the obligatory shininess shot so you can see
4:43 that they are quite shiny and the surface does appear to be quite flat but
4:47 really eyeballing it is not very useful um it comes down to Performance data and
4:51 the hyper is a very good performer for the money so oh yeah we I should mention
4:56 this there are four heat pipes and they do go up both sides of the cool cooler
5:01 okay and you can see that they come out the top here it's 120 mm big and the fan
5:05 is actually kind of unique looking this is this is a fan blade shape that I
5:10 haven't really seen before you see how it's kind of like a wavy shape rather
5:13 than a more straight swept blade so that's kind of nice too I've heard that
5:17 this cooler is actually quite silent but I don't actually have somewhere to hook
5:21 it up right now I think that pretty much concludes everything I wanted to
5:25 demonstrate about the hyper 212 plus so thank you for checking out my unboxing
5:30 and first look and I'm just going to sort of give you some more angles here
5:33 to check it out there's your Cooler Master logo on the top thank you for
5:37 checking out my unboxing
