0:00 So today we're going to be having a look at the ASUS oplay air so this air
0:04 version the biggest most obvious upgrade they've made to it is where the air name
0:08 comes from and that is that they have added Wireless support to the older ASUS
0:12 o play so let's have a quick look at the box here you can see right there they've
0:16 called out on the front Wireless that is the big feature okay but let's have a
0:21 look at the features that they list on the side so if I can get the cameraman to have a look you can see where we've
0:26 got full support for most of your important HD movie format you have
0:30 support for photos now as well as a bunch of different audio and subtitle
0:34 formats okay they have a look at the unit itself multiple format support blah
0:38 blah blah isata is present it now has a card reader which is another cool
0:42 feature and then here we've got easy Wireless file sharing complete card
0:46 reader support to share photos on TV large screen with your family and
0:49 friends as well as o photo picture manager to organize your pictures by
0:52 date folder okay so let's open up the box itself here and oh okay there goes
0:58 ah a liner piece so you got a Slick Black Box and let's just take out the
1:02 opl air itself and have a look at the accessories first so you can see we've
1:06 got a pretty good accessory package let's see what we've got first of all
1:10 you will find a media remote that looks kind of
1:15 like a shortened um if you've seen the OEM Microsoft Remote it looks kind of
1:19 like a shortened version of that with no number pad so that is your oplay remote
1:23 and they've been kind enough to include a couple of AAA batteries for you
1:26 awesome okay then we have composite cable
1:31 all right if you're using an HD player though try to avoid using this because
1:34 yeah you're not going to get the best for you're not going to bet get the best
1:38 possible quality out of it then you've got a power cord a power brick as well as an O
1:44 playay HD Media Player user manual as well as the o link network connection
1:49 utility okay then inside we have an oplay HD Media Player quick start guide
1:55 so this is going to give you a general overview of what all of the different
1:58 connections are as well as the remote control buttons and wow then they
2:03 basically show you how to plug it into your TV so the setup better be pretty
2:07 easy otherwise people are going to have trouble with that so let's take out the
2:10 opl air itself and have a quick look at the
2:14 Box okay so it's not particularly large
2:17 by these media player standards it's a little bit bigger than a wdtv or wdtv
2:22 live but it's obviously much smaller than a popcorn hour so let's just take
2:26 this uh plastic cover off you can see it's got a very nice glossy finish to
2:31 the go away ah to the ASUS logo on the
2:35 top and then the rest is a matte like a matte black that'll fit in very nicely
2:38 with other media devices and then the front is a glossy black finish as well
2:43 as the side and the other side you can see little air ventilation holes up at
2:47 the top here because I mean you you've got a 1080p video Processing Unit inside
2:51 so you are going to need a little bit of ventilation for it so this side is where
2:55 you'll find the card reader so you can see we've got support for compact flash
2:59 SD as well as memory stick and memory stick Duo and then on the other side we
3:04 have support for USB as well as EA and
3:07 that's where you'll find a little Hardware reset switch should you need to
3:10 reset the device if it locks up and then on the back that's where we'll find most
3:15 of the gut so you can see all we've got here is composite so if you're using
3:19 analog you're using composite period and then we have HDMI as well as optical
3:25 audio out so that is your digital connection so they haven't given a whole
3:28 lot of connection options but this should service most of the people out
3:33 there then you've got a landport if you don't want to use the wireless as well
3:37 as a power plug the bottom of the unit has four little rubber feet and thank
3:41 you for checking out my unboxing and product over overview overview of the
3:45 ASUS oplay air
