we have gotten a lot of requests for a video about this how to use one email
0:12
signin to manage multiple email accounts
0:16
so slick put together a little tutorial it's actually not as hard as you might
0:20
think so we're going to be using Gmail for our example but these steps should
0:24
be pretty similar in other email
0:27
accounts although pretty much the reason we're using Gmail to manage all the
0:30
email accounts is cu it's pretty much what you should be doing so you go into
0:34
settings then you go to accounts and import so see I would have gone to
0:39
something like forward and pop SL iMat but that's actually if you want to go
0:42
the other way around so we're going to be using accounts and import we're going to add another email address you own so
0:48
in this case we want the name for anything that we send from that other
0:51
email address to be still slick PC so that's fine and the email address is
0:56
going to be slick PCT test hop see if you can tell we've done this before at
1:01
hotmail.com these two don't really matter because you can edit this one
1:04
later and that is pretty much it so next
1:08
step send through Gmail so this is easier to set up it doesn't make that
1:12
much of a difference so yeah we're just going to do it that way before you can
1:17
send mail all you have to do is verify that you actually own that other email
1:21
address which is sort of important so we send a verification over there an email
1:25
has been sent with a confirmation code then we check over here Gmail
1:28
confirmation send mail as blah blah blah here's your confirmation code enter that
1:34
into the other window which I have lost
1:37
there we go
1:41
verify and that's not quite it so okay
1:44
here we can change these options again so all that's fine so we can go back to
1:48
our inbox but you actually have to set up the other email account to forward as
1:53
well so you just go into more mail settings email forwarding and forward
1:59
your to another email account so slick PCT test gmail.com and then you can tell
2:05
it if you want to keep a copy of the forwarded messages in your outlook inbox
2:08
I probably would doesn't seem like a bad idea okay the next thing we have to do
2:12
is go into Internet Explorer where we had set up a test email sending to Slick
2:17
PCT test hotmail.com and I minimized it excellent
2:21
so we're going to send that and go back to Firefox where we can see in our Gmail
2:26
inbox we have no new mail we have no new
2:29
mail we have new mail there we go now what we
2:33
do is we send back sort of blah blah
2:37
blah blah and we can change who we're sending
2:41
it from so we can either send it from Hotmail which is the default because
2:45
this was sent to the Hotmail account or we can actually send it from the Gmail
2:49
account that we're using so we're going to send it from Hotmail back to this
2:54
Gmail account blah blah blah blah and you can see that when you click down
2:58
here it is coming from the hotmail.com account so that's that's it it's that
3:03
simple pretty cool hey let's see if it's
3:06
uh oh didn't save in sent but it does keep the uh it does keep the original
3:11
one in here I hope this was helpful and
3:15
guys something to be aware of is forwarding the emails and sending emails
3:19
from that account does not necessarily qualify as signing in so if your email
3:24
provider has terms such as you know make sure you sign in once every year or once
3:29
every 200 70 days or whatever it happens to be you actually have to sign in once
3:33
in a while so I would set up a calendar reminder for yourself or something
3:37
thanks for checking out this episode of Linus Tech tips and we'll see you guys later for more unboxings reviews and
