0:08 so last ces razer showed off a concept
0:12 notebook shell that allowed you to take their gaming phone and put it in as like
0:17 a touchpad and then like a a larger
0:20 Android experience and i was kind of going hey this has kind of been done before so
0:25 this is a little lackluster compared to your previous concept products and b why
0:30 the hell would anybody want a full-size Android experience it's terrible
0:36 so MSI apparently saw an opportunity here
0:40 and they are showing off a much better
0:43 solution because why would you want to run
0:46 a desktop experience or laptop experience on underpowered mobile
0:51 hardware when you can run a mobile
0:54 software experience on totally op gaming
0:58 laptop hardware so i don't normally cover like
1:02 some software crap that comes bundled with a gaming notebook but the MSI app
1:07 player is actually pretty freaking cool
1:10 so it's not a new concept running an Android emulator on a computer in fact
1:16 they even got a sticker right here it is based on the bluestacks Android emulator
1:21 but what effectively they've done here is packaged this into something that is
1:26 very usable and very practical for
1:30 gamers so what you're looking at right here is the full fat google play store
1:36 where we can get any normal Android apps any normal Android games and yes my
1:42 friends you should see where we're going with that so using this software you can
1:47 use a mouse and wasd
1:51 or a game controller to control Android
1:54 games giving you a distinct advantage compared to people who are playing on
1:59 mobile with their like touch screen joysticks and all that stuff so the
2:03 better the system the better the experience it'll take advantage of your
2:07 CPU your GPU and even things like high
2:10 refresh rate displays and there are other intrinsic advantages
2:14 as well you don't have to worry about battery life constraints you get to use
2:19 your full sized notebook great audio solution and if you plug into a wired
2:24 network connection you don't have to worry about any mobile network leg
2:29 bullcrap or anything like that now they're mostly focused on gaming but you
2:33 can run any app from the play store there's a bunch of great functionality
2:36 built in here as well so you can see there's hotkeys for pretty much anything
2:40 and MSI steel series keyboards built into their laptops will allow you to
2:44 remap any of that let's just go ahead and make this full screen and you guys
2:48 might have noticed that i'm running this on an MSI desktop now so they are not
2:53 limiting it to just their notebooks in fact it's not even limited to just their
2:56 gaming products so their motherboards their video cards even their new
3:01 prestige series non-gaming notebooks are going to have support for this app and
3:06 this is a huge boon for streamers for example some people do stream Android
3:10 games so now all you got to do is hook up a secondary monitor run your regular
3:14 obs and xsplit and then you just run this in a window and you can do all of
3:18 your gaming and streaming from one machine
3:21 this is a seriously unfair advantage that's not my
3:25 problem though one last point is that if you suck at games like me so this is
3:30 some like weird pub g clone or something you can actually run multiple games at
3:35 the same time so if you're like waiting around for a respawn you can just flip
3:39 over into another tab here play another play angry birds or
3:43 whatever while you're waiting and then just flip back over and you're ready to
3:47 continue one last point cliff from MSI said if i
3:51 don't talk about his prestige series he's not gonna send me a gigantic
3:55 life-size MSI dragon so this is their
3:58 new thin and light prestige series it's got like a metal chassis uh 8th gen core
4:04 i7 so up to quad core uh HDMI a couple
4:07 type c's a couple type a's you got your uh sd card 1080p ip looks like ips yep
4:15 not too bad and uh so the point here is basically that MSI is finally doing
4:20 something other than gaming notebooks
4:23 so good for them and
