0:07 so I'm working on a little change up in my wife's PC I decided to pull out the
0:12 uh G1 sniper and go with a more
0:15 reasonable board so I'm just using a
0:19 Gigabyte uh p67a I'm actually changing the CPU as well I had a 2500k in there
0:24 before and I'm going to be putting in a 2600k this is an ancient sample board so
0:29 this is actually using the B2 chipset which means I can only use the theta 3 6
0:33 GB pers second ports without uh without them eventually dying but that's fine
0:38 because I'm only using a single SSD for the boot drive and then uh a SATA
0:42 optical drive for this machine and I just the only reason that I'm uh
0:46 bringing this up is because actually I'm just going to move this out of the way
0:51 it can
0:54 sit over here with the other computers
0:57 that are on this shelf like motherboards
1:00 going on got another one sitting over there anyway that can go there for
1:05 now okay so the reason I brought this up is because I'm going to be reconfiguring
1:09 the air flow in this machine a little bit because it's been um a little bit
1:14 problematic so you know she's like yeah yeah I like the ark midi case it's my
1:18 favorite case that's what I want my PC in but she doesn't like this big uh dust
1:23 thing going on here so there's a filter on the front of the case but you can see
1:27 it accumulates quite a lot of dust um
1:30 not very attractive also I've been having some problems with overall dust
1:34 buildup inside the case as well and what I realized it's due to the negative air
1:39 flow on the case so while the intakes are filtered we so we can keep a lot of
1:44 the dust out that way it's still better to maintain positive air pressure inside
1:48 the case so what I'm going to be doing is I'm actually going to take this fan
1:51 out entirely so I'm not going to have any intake fans
1:56 whatsoever and then what I'm going to do well okay oh sorry sorry so I'm not
2:00 going to have any intake fans in the front so that'll mean that I won't have
2:03 that uh that ring of dust in the front and then what I'm going to do is I'm
2:07 going to turn all of these around and
2:11 I'm going to use the ones at the top and the back as intakes so what I'm hoping
2:16 that will help me achieve is to have uh
2:20 overall positive air pressure inside which means that dust is less likely to
2:24 get sucked in and little cracks in the case and also by having all the intakes
2:29 higher up up I'm hoping that less dust will be brought in in general because it
2:34 won't be sitting right on the floor so we'll see how this goes so the purpose
2:38 of this video was uh several fold so number one was to talk about positive
2:42 air pressure a little bit with respect to uh keeping dust out of your case so
2:46 you want to use filtered intakes and then have overall positive pressure
2:50 inside the case so that it blows out the little cracks uh number two was cuz
2:54 several of you had asked about my um my wife's machine so I figured I'd show you
2:59 guys the finished build now that it's done and number three was that since I
3:02 was taking it apart anyway because look at this color scheme I mean yeah yeah if
3:07 you guys are wondering why I would have downgraded the motherboard the reason is
3:11 that this just doesn't go with the
3:15 overall look of this particular case so hold on let me just blow out this you
3:19 can see the dust ring right not really no okay well whatever it's
3:25 there I wish I had compressed air but I
3:28 don't
3:32 we'll call that good enough okay throw that on there and
3:38 now the properly finished build now that
3:41 the color scheme has been corrected so I've got my special signature Linus
3:46 Edition RAM in there which is blue and black and then everything else see
3:50 there's a couple little blue accents there's some blue accents on the heat
3:54 sink of the yeah on the heat sink so the motherboard itself and then other than
3:59 that we've got a black and gray and white sort of grayscale overall theme
4:03 going on in here all of these are just stock Parts I haven't done anything
4:07 particularly special because let's face it it's important to me but it's still
4:11 not my machine um so uh so
4:16 yeah oh yeah so these are all intakes and then this CPU uh cooler doesn't need
4:21 any kind of additional cooling since I swapped out the G1 uh Sniper 2 is it
4:26 what was it a G1 Sniper 2 something like that yeah Sniper 2 I had to throw in a
4:30 sound card so that's just an older aente sound card just because uh I don't have
4:35 that awesome onboard audio anymore so we can go ahead and close this up oh yeah
4:39 overall specs so we got a 2600k 8 gigs of Linus Edition RAM p67 GB board MSI
4:45 GTX 560 Hawk with the twin frozer 3 cooler we've got a PC power and cooling
4:50 silencer MK3 modular power supply ocz agility 120 gig
4:56 SSD um did I say 2600k already
5:00 I'm not sure uh right thermal take Silver Arrow heat sink and then
5:06 obviously all of that is in the fractal design Arc
5:13 midi and mid tower case there we go so
5:18 it's time to put this back and then um I
5:21 can have my computer back because that is apparently how this works when this
5:26 computer is down I forfeit the right to use mine
5:30 so thank you for checking out this little episode and don't forget to subscribe Fus Tech tips for more
