0:00 so today on my video blog we're going to be checking out the Samsung flash Cam
0:03 SMX f30 so this is a small small hold
0:09 and point and shoot shoot and share memory camcorder there shoot and share
0:12 that's what I was looking for so it is YouTube friendly which is one of the
0:16 only things they actually list on the box here it has a 3-hour long time
0:21 battery face detection focus and time-lapse recording and then again they
0:26 tell you okay it's YouTube friendly so let's get this thing open I actually
0:30 know very little about this but I'm looking for a camera that can focus a
0:34 little bit better close up um we're shooting this video with the G7 but I'm
0:38 actually going to shoot the next one with this camera just to see how well it
0:42 performs when you upload directly to YouTube which as you can tell from the
0:45 box is one of the features that they're saying is very important about it so
0:50 let's start our unboxing here we've got the Samsung users manual disc inside so
0:56 there you go I think this might actually be two discs I don't know it's not it's
1:00 just a thick heavy one or something okay so then you've got a what's included so
1:05 you want to make sure that all the stuff that's on here is actually in there so
1:08 this seems to be kind of like a yeah it's a quick start guide there we go so
1:13 comes out some more oh that's a very long quick quick guide awesome so it
1:19 tells you what's included uh selecting the operating mode how to prepare it for
1:24 functioning before recording and
1:27 then getting the data actually off it
1:31 okay so that's great to have a quick start guide like that and then we've got
1:35 what's next here uh deer valued customer
1:38 oh how to contact their tech support okay that's good too you know we usually
1:42 do sort of more uh computer oriented stuff rather than consumer electronics
1:46 so this is there's a lot more handholding in here so here's a why to
1:50 register your product and uh pre prepaid
1:53 sort of thing to register your product that's great okay so inside we will find
1:57 the power adapter there you go you'll need that for power and you will also
2:02 find an adapter for composite output so you can plug that into the camera so you
2:07 can actually monitor what you're doing right off the camera and I'm assuming
2:10 you can also play it back on your TV and then in here we've got a USB cable so
2:16 this is for transferring data off the camera and then here we've got our
2:20 battery this is passed okay it didn't fail awesome that's good and then here
2:27 is oh one of those stupid little things for the USB cable that you'll probably
2:31 not install Okay so let's bring out the camera itself now in terms of General
2:36 specs this camera shoots in a widescreen format so it's uh 720 by 48 no sorry
2:43 it's 480 720 by 480 yep so that's uh not
2:47 720p it's actually 480p and it has according to our specs
2:52 okay it has a 42x in t Zoom here so here
2:55 it's listing the specs again okay it's YouTube friendly thanks for that it's
2:59 got got a Schneider Cru knck lens and
3:03 then you've got like a handy little pley uh handstrap here that is adjustable
3:09 there we go then at the back you'll find your record button your power button so
3:14 you hold that to turn it on just right here there's a little open thing so
3:18 that's where you'll find your power in there's your your AV out so that was the
3:21 composite video and audio and then a USB cable here you can change your mode from
3:27 uh camcorder to camera to playback and
3:30 then here I guess you can oh you can take a photo and then here's your zoom
3:34 and inside you will find the reasonably large LCD it's not a touchcreen so your
3:41 all your functionality is going to be over here accessing the menu and
3:44 everything over here is your ey check uh brightness and contrast and easy C so
3:50 thank you for checking out my video blog on the Samsung flashcam SMX f30 DN
