0:00 so we've got another p-55 board here today that we're going to be checking
0:03 out it's the assus p7 p55 dle now le can
0:08 mean any number of things in this case I'm pretty sure it means late edition
0:12 you've got a lot of the basic features that you're going to want so you've got
0:15 your 8 phase power you've got support for what is it their uh memo K turbo V
0:20 overclocking software memo K is actually one of the more unique features we'll
0:24 talk about that in a bit so inside we've got our IO Shield got like the padding
0:28 on the back that's kind of neat you've got these little uh ports that you can
0:31 use to plug your individual pins into then plug the whole thing into the board
0:35 the easy connector or something like that you've got an ID cable two SATA
0:39 cables and a manual with the uh DVD
0:42 inside so you can see it's actually a very very basic accessory package with
0:47 this board so let's take out the divider here and get that out of the way and
0:51 let's take out the actual board itself so this is one of the lower-end boards
0:55 in ASUS's p55 lineup so let's go ahead and put that down there you can see it's
1:00 actually a little bit on the narrow side so normally you'd see that a board will
1:05 have one two three screw holes and it
1:08 would actually be a little bit wider so this is a narrow board it helps them save on cost and it helps them keep a
1:12 cleaner layout gives you a little bit more space to work in so let's do the
1:16 general layout we've got our 24 pin connector over on the right Edge exactly
1:19 where we want it support for dual Channel DDR3 memory like all p-55 boards
1:24 here's our LGA 1156 socket and here's our eight-phase power design up at the
1:29 top of the board you can see you've got an 8 Pin power connector for the CPU
1:33 right there and then let's have a look so you've got a couple of PCI Express
1:38 ports but we don't have support for Crossfire or SLI on this particular
1:43 board this is kind of a neat looking heat sink here it's uh very unique I
1:47 actually kind of like the look of this board to be honest uh we've got six SATA
1:51 connectors so if I can just get the cameraman to have a look so two right angle ones and then four of the more
1:55 classic style that comes right out of the board and let's have a look at our
1:59 rear panel I don't really like the color of this PCB I prefer to see it like a
2:02 jet black but it's not too bad looking actually okay we got two PS2 ports we've
2:07 got eight USB ports so one two and then we've got uh digital audio eeta and 7.1
2:14 audio so actually a pretty good uh a pretty good IO Port thing here oh yeah
2:18 let's talk about memo K yeah before you zoom out so that's the memo K button
2:22 basically memo K you press this button and the board will default to super
2:27 loose super non-aggressive timings for the RAM so you can make sure that you
2:31 can boot with any RAM no matter what the profile is on the memory itself so thank
2:35 you for checking out my blog on the p7p 55d L
