0:07 I've been asked a lot of times for optimization tips for SSD so here's one
0:11 that is very very useful um if you have an SSD you probably know that they're
0:15 not very big uh the average size of an SSD these days is around 120 gigs so I
0:20 ran into a situation where I was using space sniffer to figure out the
0:24 differences between the os's I had installed on a couple of my ssds and I
0:28 realized that my hybrid file hyber file.
0:31 CIS you don't have to get too close cuz I'll read it out is 12 gigs of space on
0:35 a 120 gig Drive I never ever hibernate
0:40 my uh test bench PC that's something I only really use on a notebook so why am
0:44 I wasting the space that I could be using to install more copies of
0:48 Battlefield 3 that doesn't run off my external steam drive and insists on
0:52 installing in program files because origin is awesome um so yeah that's what
0:59 I could be doing with that space instead so I'm going to show you guys how to
1:02 disable it uh completely because it's not as simple as just setting it to
1:07 hibernate after settings never you also
1:10 have to turn off allow hybrid sleep and
1:14 then once you're done that so you access this through control panel all control
1:17 panel items power options edit plan settings so you have to go to the Chang
1:21 Advanced power settings the next thing you have to do is open up an elevated
1:25 command prompt so the way to do that is you search for CMD in the start menu you
1:29 right click and you run as
1:32 administrator then in your elevated command prompt you type
1:36 power CFG DH so that's for hibernate space off
1:43 press that and delete the oh that
1:46 deleted it okay the instructions that I had seen have sometimes mentioned uh
1:51 deleting that file but it looks like you actually don't have to now all of a
1:55 sudden I have 12 gigs more space on my
1:58 boot Drive yay now I can install more stuff on my computer that I do not
2:02 hibernate so there there's my tech tip for the day unless I upload two videos
2:07 today in case in which case that's one of my tech tips for the day don't forget to subscribe to L Tech tips for more
