0:02 now as a rugged Man I don't often find time for quietly reflecting on my
0:07 feelings but when I do there's one burden that weighs on me Mighty heavily
0:12 a Dark Passenger I've never shared with any man that the poor CPU in my gaming
0:17 PC is cooled by the pathetic heat sink that came in its box it weren't that I
0:22 didn't want better for it's just well
0:25 it's like that time I drove for days cuz it seemed better than asking for dire CS
0:31 I just didn't know how to pick one but thanks to the internet now I can
0:36 know enough about any subject to make video guides without ever admitting I
0:40 had no pre-existing knowledge on the subject and that's how this one came to
0:44 be I started by learning about so-called
0:48 compatibility my case can handle a 4 and 3/4 in radiator that's 120 mm if you're
0:55 some kind of or Canadian but as a rugged Man I believe bigger is better so
1:01 after Consulting my manual I eventually chose a 240 mm radiator the largest I
1:07 could fit in the top of my case When selecting a tool to remove the Unholy
1:12 Abomination that I knew was currently possessing my PC thankfully Mercy stayed
1:18 my hand a true rugged Man knows use the
1:21 right tool for the job I unscrewed one
1:24 corner and then the opposite one and then the other two in Rapid succession
1:28 before tearing that sucker off to see my processor looking at me with a mixture
1:32 of fatigue and relief across its heat
1:35 spreader for the next step I gathered the parts side need out of the cooler
1:39 box two cooling fans and the Mountain Hardware from my socket that I H well I
1:44 wish I'd looked at that before confidently chucking the manual in the
1:47 trash which led me to the most important fork in the road of my life I'd ever
1:52 encountered a burning in question that needed answering before I could go any
1:56 further push or pull thankfully I found
2:00 this great video on the subject this guy is anything but rugged but he suggested
2:05 having my fans pull air through the radiator and out of the case for a good
2:09 balance of overall system Cooling and ease of cleaning something I can
2:13 certainly appreciate I ran the long screws through the top of the case and
2:17 the four corners of the fans like a spit through a pig then after some fiddling
2:21 about got the first one threaded and from there it got much easier to mount
2:25 the radiator then I screwed the hold down plate to the CPU block attached my
2:29 Hardware to the motherboard put on some thermal goop and tighten the hold down
2:34 screws in a cross pattern before pluging power leads from a fans and pump either
2:38 directly into the board for automatic control or into the power supply if I
2:42 don't mind them running at full manly speed all the time with my work complete
2:48 I contemplated the sacrifices I'd made cuz while frankly the Practical benefits
2:53 of CPU liquid cooling with longer life and marginally better overclock and
2:58 being among them are debatable at best
3:01 what it was really about for me was knowing my Battlefield rig weren't
3:04 relying on the equivalent of the gentle beaten of pixie wings to keep her
3:08 running smooth thank you for watching this second installment of how to do
