so today we're going to be doing an unboxing this is the MSI
0:04
their take on the gtx 570 from NVIDIA so
0:08
the first thing you're going to notice about the front of their box is well i
0:12
don't know i don't know what the first thing you're going to notice is but the first thing i notice is this afterburner
0:17
logo attached to like a spaceship thing going on here so afterburners MSI's
0:23
overclocking and tweaking software that is awesome it's really good it's great
0:27
you can adjust voltages you can adjust clock speeds you can set different
0:31
overclocking profiles you can make it so that it sets everything up when you boot
0:35
into Windows it's really really good anyway other things
0:38
on the front of the box we have a three year warranty and emma in MSI in the usa
0:43
and canada and bear in mind that in canada so this is applicable to our
0:47
canadian viewers the warranty is actually covered within canada so you
0:51
don't have to ship to a us depot that's a pretty good advantage because you
0:55
don't have to pay shipping across the border deal with customs etc we have
0:58
full support for NVIDIA cuda sli phys x
1:02
as well as 3d vision including 3d vision surround although you will need two
1:06
cards to run 3d vision surround and the specs are
1:10
pretty much the same as any other gtx 570 in that you've got
1:15
1.28 megabytes of video card memory
1:18
we're actually using the same GPU core
1:22
as the gtx 580 but it is slightly cut down so we have fewer processing cores
1:27
and a lower memory bandwidth to go along with
1:32
the lower memory capacity so let's take the card out for a second and then we're
1:36
going to have a look at what MSI's included in terms of accessories because
1:40
that's sort of part of their package as an NVIDIA add-in board partner as well
1:45
so the first thing we have is a quick user guide next we have a driver disk throw it away
1:50
download the latest from NVIDIA's website we have a mini dvi or rather
1:55
mini dvi mini HDMI to HDMI adapter
1:59
we have a dvi to vga adapter although please do yourself a favor and get a dvi
2:03
monitor if you're running a video card of this caliber next we have two molex
2:08
to PCIe six pin adapters just in case
2:11
you do not have an up-to-date power supply with PCIe connectors in which
2:16
case please get a new power supply and next we have a little guide on how to
2:19
use their live update feature all right let's get down to the graphics card
2:23
itself at the time of recording this video MSI's gtx 570 also comes with one
2:28
additional free game that the other gtx 570s do not so it comes with with all
2:35
the usual stuff and then it comes with a copy of metro 2033 it's not included in
2:40
the box but you get a coupon if you buy it from ncix that that includes a
2:45
download steam version of metro 2033 so
2:48
that's a pretty cool game directx 11 to run on your brand new directx 11 video
2:53
card so here at the back you can see there's not a whole lot to speak of here
2:57
at the top of the card you will find an MSI logo you will also find a GeForce
3:01
logo as well as two PCIe six pin power
3:04
connectors so that is two six pin rather than a six pin and an eight pin like on
3:09
the gtx 580. here at the top of the card
3:12
covered by MSI's little trademark
3:15
blue cover things are two sli connectors so
3:19
that means we have full support for two-way sli as well as three-way sli
3:24
using a three-way sli bridge and a compatible motherboard all right here we
3:28
have a pci express 16x interface
3:33
down here at the bottom moving on to the back we have what i
3:38
would now consider to be standard for an
3:41
NVIDIA 500 series card we have two dvi
3:45
ports one mini HDMI port so remember
3:49
that you can only use two of these at a time that means you can either use both
3:52
dvi's you can use a dvi and HDMI and then a dvi and HDMI you can't use all
3:57
three at the same time to get NVIDIA surround that is 3d vision surround or
4:01
just regular surround gaming going on you actually have to have two cards
4:06
running in sli mode and then you hook up
4:09
two monitors to one card and one monitor to the second card and given how much
4:14
horsepower is required for 3-monitor gaming i don't really feel that's an
4:18
unfair requirement on NVIDIA's part especially because you don't have to
4:22
have a displayport monitor you can run three
4:25
HDMI or dvi monitors okay here at the
4:29
back of the card there's not really a whole lot and i think that pretty much
4:32
covers everything there is to say about the MSI gtx 570 so i know i haven't had
4:38
a performance review up yet but i will have my usual slew of video content
4:42
around the gtx 570 coming for you guys shortly
