0:00 Linus Tech tips coverage of CES 2014 is brought to you by nc.com your source for
0:05 great technology selection and service along with Corsair memory and Western
0:09 Digital hey guys I'm here with our first video at CES with Christian to show us
0:13 tracker which is pretty interesting I was interested the second I showed up to
0:17 the booth because I constantly lose my keys I'm pretty good with my wallet I'm
0:20 pretty good with my phone but I literally can never find my keys so how
0:23 does this work so Luke we've got a solution for you you attach the sticker
0:27 tracker to your keys or a bag anything
0:30 that you want to keep track of you can even stick it on a remote the app will
0:34 find that thing at the Press of a button so you press a button on the app and
0:38 then it it makes it beep so you can see where you know did you leave it in the
0:42 couch cushions did you you know did it fall under the table and then you can
0:47 see with a hot cold indicator on the app if you're getting warmer or colder and
0:52 then if you leave it behind it remembers where on a map you left that thing so
0:56 this works through Bluetooth and you said the battery life was pretty insane how long is the battery life for that
1:00 little tracker it goes up to a year on
1:03 uh a little watch battery so you don't have to worry about constantly plugg it
1:07 into your computer or whatever the wall to charge it which is actually really nice because you might lose something
1:11 for a few days and having these kind of things and having them die is really not
1:14 that helpful so there's another thing you're talking me about where you can kind of help other people find stuff
1:18 just like ways and how does that work so in the latest Tracker app we've
1:23 Incorporated social tracking we're calling IT Crowd tracker so if I left my
1:28 keys some somewhere and you walked by
1:31 them then you would anonymously and confidentially just REM let me know
1:35 where my keys moved to so you can see on
1:39 this little map I've got my tracker on a
1:42 map and it knows where I left it and then if another user walks by it gives
1:46 me an updated location for that thing cool so it's Bluetooth but it doesn't
1:50 have to fully connect it just has to kind of ping and then it updates the map
1:53 without that user actually knowing and this is an opt-in correct so if you're kind of worried about it you can say no
1:59 correct yes so if you're interested in having other people help you find your
2:03 stuff when you lose it um then you can help other people find their stuff when
2:06 they lose it perfect so you if you're someone who tends to leave things behind
2:10 like myself this might help you a lot I also heard that it's pretty inexpensive
2:14 so how much are the different devices we wanted to make it really easy for people
2:18 to keep track of their stuff so one device is 29 and it's two for 39 and
2:23 four for $80 perfect that's really not
2:26 that bad I don't think I don't know about you is this kind of stuff you're
2:29 interested in comment below as always thanks for watching our content thank
2:32 you for our subscribers to sending us to CES and as always subscribe to lineus
