Corsair has yet another couple products for us from their H series of all-in-one
0:04
liquid coolers yes don't be fooled despite the addition of GTX and GT at
0:09
the end of the model names there was not a collaboration with NVIDIA but Jokes
0:14
Aside these coolers promise a number of performance improvements and some
0:19
interesting aesthetic changes as well so stay tuned to see how they stack up and
0:24
stay subscribed to our lineus tips channel to see a future video on the
0:28
megahertz myth where we take a look at old versus new when it comes to
0:32
processors running at equal speeds should be pretty
0:43
cool The Cooler Master Nova touch tkl utilizes genuine toer hybrid capacitive
0:48
switches and is now available at a more affordable price click now to learn more
0:54
let's kick things off with a physical overview of both units the h80i GT and
0:58
the h100i GT X have both received fairly
1:01
substantial makeovers they now feature a more angled look with gray accents not
1:06
only on the pump but on the radiator as well on the h100i GTX and other feature
1:11
GTX models the gray design plates can be removed and swapped out for a variety of
1:15
different colors though at the time of writing this review not even Corsair's
1:19
own website had anything to say about when those came out and none seemed to
1:23
be actually available at this time although a little snooping on the
1:27
product page did reveal what looks like a red replacement plate lucky for us
1:33
though I have the inside hookup and have been informed that they should be coming
1:37
out sometime around May both units feature an RGB LED on the top logo area
1:43
of the pump which can be adjusted in the Corsair link software gone is that
1:47
little Snap-on over the pump magnetic mounting bracket that came on previous
1:51
generations of the H series coolers but now they have a kind of Hardware
1:55
mounting solution which is pre-attached for Intel and has a general Twist on
1:59
Twist Off mechanism for swapping it out if you need AMD overall the mounting
2:03
block is fairly similar to previous a cooler setups with a standard back plate
2:07
standoff thumb screw setup which should be easy enough to install the tubing has
2:11
also received a bump up with some very nice and clean looking sleeving that has
2:16
no gaps or bare threads to gripe about which in my opinion is pretty amazing
2:20
overall the aesthetic Improvement compared to the bare black tubes of old
2:24
is pretty cool in my opinion the tubes also go straight into the pump blck
2:28
which results and a very clean looking finish although doesn't feel as flexible
2:33
as the rotating arms of last gen the included fans are the exact same as
2:37
before they cool all right at low RPMs and they can get really loud at high
2:42
RPMs but they do manage to shove quite a lot of air through your rad when they do
2:47
you can configure them however you'd like through Corsair link so pick your
2:51
poison the fans aren't exactly Square they don't form a perfect seal to the
2:55
radiator but they do manage to keep their overall static pressure quite High
2:59
regardless moving on to the tubing for the coolers the h80i GT and h100i gtx's
3:04
tubing runs are both quite long and stiff resulting in some issues with a
3:08
few of our cases this might be less of a problem for a full tower perhaps but the
3:12
tubing runs are so long and sturdy that closing the side panel can prove to be
3:17
difficult in a few of these cases and a little awkward if you happen to have
3:21
fans installed on the side panel as well the sturdy overall tubing plus the
3:25
sleeving does have the awesome benefit of B being very unlike to Kink which is
3:31
pretty great for people who are just trying to avoid issues the final gripe
3:34
is the fittings yeah they can swivel in socket which looks incredibly great and
3:40
very very clean but they don't have the Rotator arms that the previous
3:43
generation has as I brought up earlier which in combination with the stiff
3:47
tubing can again make installation a bit tricky in a few Solutions but it does
3:52
look sexy as hell once you get it in place properly and when you sit back and
3:56
gaze upon what you've created it makes the Fairly minor installation issues
4:00
seem entirely worth it now that we got that out of the air I can finally talk
4:04
about how it performs and stacks up against the rest of its competition we
4:08
had some issues getting the default fans to run at our standard testing speed of
4:12
1100 RPM hence why they are listed at 1500 RPM on the chart do keep in mind
4:17
that they do perform well at that speed but have a much louder overall noise
4:21
profile that being said the h8i GT with its thick single 120 mm design had a
4:27
hard time keeping up with our super hot test bench which was expected as our
4:32
setup often throws off coolers in that range I may dial it down a little bit in
4:36
the future but it should perform on more reasonably overclocked CPUs we see the
4:41
h100i GTX Flex a little bit with its new cold plate and pump designs that it
4:46
shares with its little brother the H GT this results in a bit of a leap from the
4:50
predecessor and slotting it in as the best cooler under 280 mm that we tested
4:55
this time around in conclusion Corsair stepped their game up up improved
5:00
Aesthetics across the board with sleeve tubing and cool replaceable logo plates
5:04
which can match your color scheme improved performance through their
5:09
improved cold plate and pump design efficiency but is it enough well I don't
5:13
think anyone who already has an h100 or h100i should run out in the replace
5:18
their cooler anytime soon if it's still working fine but anyone that wants a new
5:22
240 mm cooler for their build or to replace a malfunctioning cooler this
5:28
would be a fine option and it performs pretty damn well to boot what do you
5:32
guys think let me know in the comments down below or over on the forums
5:35
personally I don't mind the stiff tubing I don't think I'll really have any
5:39
problems with it and I'm totally willing to make that sacrifice if you want to
5:43
call it that uh for the awesome looking sleeving and all that kind of stuff but
5:46
yeah let me know what you guys think over on the Forum specifically by the
