0:07 welcome to my unboxing and first look at the Logitech for business bcc950
0:12 conference cam now it comes in a very plain brown box because this is not all
0:17 about the uh you know the Fancy Pants packaging that a that a retail oriented
0:23 skew would would be focused on but this is all about the functionality enabled
0:27 by this device and some of the really cool soft applications that it can be
0:31 integrated with so they say right on the package that it's optimized for
0:35 Microsoft link Microsoft link is more
0:38 than just sort of a regular consumer chat client it is a like an Enterprise
0:44 grade chat client so it allows you to use things like instant messaging so
0:49 this we're used to things like just sort of personto person messaging this we're
0:53 used to conference video messaging this we're used to but it also integrates
0:57 with entire room video conference systems all the way down to the webcam
1:02 built into your notebook it also has a lot of collaborative sharing stuff so it's integrated with things like one
1:06 note so you can collaborate on that as you go while you're giving presentations
1:10 in Microsoft link you can um you know
1:13 play a PowerPoint with sound and it'll work and so it works with I think it's I
1:18 think link does up to 720p but this particular webcam is 1080p so if you
1:23 wanted to use it with a different client then that would be fine due to the
1:26 recent acquisition of Skype uh Microsoft link is also fully integrated with that
1:32 so there's a lot of really really neat stuff you can do but what is the actual
1:35 usage case for something like this and why is video collaboration so important
1:40 I guess are the real questions that you may or may not be asking yourself so as
1:44 companies I don't know Outsource to different places or as they you know
1:49 spread out and have larger campuses as they grow you need to still find ways to
1:53 collaborate that don't involve getting in a plane and traveling somewhere cuz
1:57 it's extremely expensive and very inefficient the amount of time that gets
2:02 wasted sitting on planes is absolutely ridiculous so it's not that easy to take
2:08 something like a notebook which has you
2:11 know a very narrow angle lens on its webcam and it's usually not the highest
2:16 quality thing in the world although I'm not specifically picking on this notebook it was just the nearest one
2:20 sitting here so crowding people around it to give a presentation or whatever
2:24 else isn't isn't necessarily practical so this aims to bridge the gap between
2:30 something like a full room conference system and something like the the cheesy
2:34 webcam that's built into your notebook so I'm just going to show you guys how
2:38 it assembles and why it comes with a remote I think the remote is actually
2:42 one of the coolest things about it so we go ahead there's a little stick that
2:46 goes right here oh yeah it has a fully built-in speaker phone so that's that's
2:49 neat as well because it's sort of a one piece thing that fits in the middle of a
2:53 conference room and then you don't actually have to have anything else
2:58 sitting there I mean it looks sort of Space Age and cool and then um
3:05 like the conference room at the at a place where I used to work there's like
3:09 a speaker phone and then there's like sort of a random notebook there and then
3:13 there's uh like another device and then and we're not even set up for for video
3:17 conferencing yet so this guy right here replaces all of that stuff and then you
3:20 can even use you don't have to use Link cuz it's just a standard webcam it uses
3:24 h264 encoding for video so it'll work
3:27 just you can use it with anything whether it's FaceTime uh works with
3:31 Apple and Windows whether it's uh Skype itself whether it is something more
3:35 advanced like Microsoft link or Cisco's sharing software uh let's go ahead and
3:40 plug it in just for LOLs okay so let's do a quick product tour here there's
3:44 volume up and down mute hang up uh start call that's for the speaker phone
3:48 functionality here's zoom in zoom out as well as rotational functionality and
3:53 then what you'll notice here is on the remote all that is built in as well so
3:58 you can answer and turn terminate calls zoom in zoom out move it around control
4:03 volume and mute things so the remote is sort of the magical part because being
4:07 able to move the camera from one person
4:10 to another or from one angle to another allows you to basically be sitting in
4:14 front of it going okay you know blah blah blah blah blah blah blah but then
4:18 I've also got this thing on the wall over there that I'd like you to look at
4:22 so go ahead and look at that zoom in you got your computer sitting next to you
4:25 anyway so you're monitoring what they can see cuz pretty much any that client
4:30 ever supports that and that's the
4:33 scenario so basically it's a highquality webcam that's mounted to an ARM that
4:38 turns around goes up and down Zooms in and out and has an integrated
4:41 highquality speaker phone I think that if you don't see the application of this
4:46 then you're probably not one of the people who could benefit from it but
4:49 something like this can be easily deployed and something like uh I mean
4:53 you know smaller organizations don't necessarily have eight different
4:56 full-size conference rooms with full video conference buil-in you know
5:00 $500,000 thing so this allows you to take any small little office put a desk
5:05 in it put you know a couple wiring Jacks
5:09 into it and turn it into a video conference room because you just put
5:12 like a whiteboard on the wall you have one of these on the desk you have like
5:15 sort of three or four people sitting around it and it's usable that way so I
5:19 hope that pretty much covers everything you'd like to know about it there's also a headphone jack just in case you wanted
5:23 to use that the whole thing plugs in via USB so there's nothing sort of
5:27 unexpected there and and uh Slick's sort
5:31 of telling me something oh it looks like you don't have to use the stick maybe
5:35 that's what he's telling me so if you don't want the height adjust and you're
5:38 just going to use it on your desk and you just want something that's sort of a fully integrated speakerphone webcam
5:43 thing then that's an option as well I didn't even I didn't even notice that oh
5:47 okay it still moves side to side oh oh it probably yeah it probably still moves
5:52 up and down in side to side that's very cool well there you go don't forget to
5:57 subscribe Fest Tech tips for more unboxings reviews and other computer
6:01 videos it kind of reminds me of the guy from uh Star Wars in New Hope that the
6:05 the thing that comes out of the the swamp when they get pushed into the garbage compactor and it's like and then
6:10 it just goes
6:16 down
