0:00 welcome to my unboxing and first look at the funk ms3 so their slogan is
0:05 functionality perfected so you're probably not going to find 8200 DPI
0:10 sensors and you know 57 buttons and
0:13 whatever else but the idea behind this mouse was to create something that was
0:19 usable so check this out packaging is
0:22 very clean so here let's do the back first so you've got optimal inrange
0:28 button placements for more accurate gameplay so the idea is that there's not a ton of buttons but you could reach
0:32 them all built to last with only the best components available keep your
0:35 comfy grip allows you to keep focused on the screen so it's a palm type Mouse
0:40 customizable LED lighting system with profile indication okay so there's RGB
0:44 lighting which is basically just there and there switch instantly to another
0:47 DPI by holding down the instant aim button so it's got an aim button or a
0:51 sniper button or whatever sort of a lot of different guys have called that all
0:56 right it all started back in 1999 in sunny California a bunch of passionate
1:01 Gamers and friends got fed up with computer gear not cutting it like anyone
1:04 serious about his business these guys decided it was time to take action they
1:07 were Visionaries freethinkers and entrepreneurs and thank God Steve Jobs
1:11 came along and invented the modern gaming mouse in sunny California in 1999
1:15 actually that's not really what happened there but the point is that there were
1:19 some guys they founded Funk and they wanted to create stuff that was good
1:23 enough for them to use it so Funk was kind of Mia for a little bit there but
1:29 it has been resurrected and this is pretty much the first product that's
1:33 come out of the rejuvenated company so let's go
1:39 ahead and open this bad boy up you can open it up from either side I chose the
1:42 right because that's how I roll I make decisions and I just go for it U
1:46 spec-wise what have they got to say for themselves rron switches so that's in
1:50 line with funk saying that they're using only the highest quality materials omon
1:54 switches are very very well regarded uh
1:57 but this is this is funny check this out they actually call out the exact
2:01 processor they're using aago ugs
2:04 9500 okay so or sorry sensor uh and then the processor is a WT
2:09 6573 onboard memory 512 kiloby
2:12 resolution is 90 to 5670 DPI that is a
2:16 huge range and that goes all the way down very very low 1200 frames per
2:19 second tracking speed 5.1 m/ second I think there's pretty much everything in
2:23 here the only thing that I've seen that is not here so you can have up to, Herz
2:27 pulling rate is that um that thing that
2:30 logitech's doing now where they actually rate the feet on the bottom of the mice
2:34 for a particular uh distance that they can travel 250 km on their latest uh GS
2:40 series mice so let's go ahead and check out the actual Mouse itself so it's much
2:46 wider than what you might be used to if you've seen a few sort of modern gaming
2:51 mice because a lot of the mice out there it seems like manufacturers are hedging
2:55 their bets a little bit and saying okay well if we build something small ER then
3:01 people with small hands will be able to Palm it and people with big hands will
3:05 be able to claw it whereas Funk has gone okay no we're going to build something
3:09 bigger so that people with bigger hands can Palm it and people with smaller
3:13 hands can Palm it slightly less so what you'll notice is that I have small hands
3:17 and while my hand does fit comfortably on the ms3 you can see that I'm not
3:21 nearly to the end of the buttons here or to the uh rests for the ring finger and
3:27 the pinky finger and you can see here on the side I'm also not able to reach the
3:32 sniper button necessarily so the ms3 is
3:35 optimized for people with bigger hands such as slick who's on his way over here
3:39 right now to show us what his larger hands will look like on the ms3 thank
3:43 you slick for stepping in and doing what I can't do so uh you know what the mic's
3:49 on so feel free to to talk I still kind of claw it actually um but I I can pom
3:54 it a lot easier than most mice okay so here let's do a quick size comparison s
3:59 of sck hand versus mine so baseball
4:02 glove lady hand so somewhere in between
4:06 is probably where you're going to find the perfect balance with the ms3 now
4:11 let's go ahead and cover all the buttons that are on here so we've got four
4:15 buttons that are accessible with the thumb for me personally I'd be able to
4:18 do one two three of them this one's a bit stiffer than these
4:23 two you can actually hear there's a distinctly different click sound to them
4:28 and then this one is more of a spring loaded sort of type of feel of button
4:31 just like this one right here two buttons on the top all of these can be
4:36 reprogrammed from within the funk software as well as a non-tilting but
4:42 pressable scroll wheel and an additional button over here on the right of your
4:46 ring finger now I personally prefer this positioning for a button that's going to
4:51 be intended to be pressed by moving off either my left or right click because
4:55 I've seen ones positioned here a lot of the time and I personally left click a
4:58 lot more than I right click so I would rather move this off to the side than
5:02 move this off to the side with that said my hands are slightly too small to reach
5:06 that button on the end so guys if your hands are a little bit on the bigger
5:10 side you have probably found your new mouse the bottom is covered in a glossy
5:15 finish that also has slippy pads right here here here here and here and you can
5:20 see the laser sensor right here through the bottom of the mouse itself the
5:24 braided cable is 2 m long and has a nice
5:28 little sort of black an orange finish to it so hopefully you guys can get a good
5:32 look at that and then it does have a goldplated USB connector although it
5:35 should be noted that that doesn't actually do anything for the performance
5:38 it's mostly just for show I mean with that said it's not like it costs a ton
5:42 and Funk charging you an extra $25 because they put a goldplated connector
5:46 on it so I wouldn't worry too much about it from that perspective but yeah it
5:49 doesn't actually affect the performance too much the important thing well not at
5:52 all uh is to have goldplated inside here
5:56 not the outside of the connector where nothing actually happens except I
5:59 believe it's say ground but that's about
6:02 it so thank you for checking out my unboxing and first look at the funk ms3
6:06 don't forget to subscribe to L's Tech tips from unboxings reviews and other computer videos and oh yeah the last
6:11 thing I should probably mention about it is it has a really nice soft touch feel
6:14 over the entire Mouse with the exception of the bottom and the buttons on the top
6:18 that feels really good here that should give you guys some idea
6:23 of what the textures like and actually looks really good as well thanks guys so
6:28 yeah a couple things I missed the 500 12K memory holds up to three different
6:31 profiles and it's a driverless Mouse so you can just plug it in and it works the
6:35 way you intend it to honestly the minute I switched to my iari laser prior to
6:40 that I'd had a non-d driverless Mouse I gave up on mice that aren't driverless
6:44 every Mouse should have onboard memory these days and the last thing is it can
6:48 record up to 20 actions with a macro so there you go using the
6:53 editor shut up
6:57 Crow so we uh just finished filming this and Diesel the intern apparently wants
7:02 this mouse now to swap out on his workstation so there you go
