0:00 so we'll begin as always with a shout out to Squarespace thanks for allowing
0:03 us to be here at CES 2016 so in walking past the HP Booth the
0:08 thing that immediately grabbed my attention of course was the Star Wars
0:13 co-branded laptop now to be perfectly clear this is not a super high
0:18 performance machine it's a 699 MSRP machine it comes with a core i5 8 gigs
0:23 of RAM a 1 TB hard drive a 1080p but
0:26 fortunately IPS display in a form factor
0:29 that it's not exactly groundbreaking by any stretch of the imagination but what
0:34 it does come with is just a pretty darn cool concept and the Star Wars branding
0:39 is more than just Skin Deep with Darth Vader on the top cover a stormtrooper on
0:44 the wrist rest and even packaging that comes in the shape of a TIE fighter you
0:49 actually get a ton of exclusive content with it with everything from visuals to
0:53 sounds of the machine optimized for the Star Wars fan as well as I think it's
0:57 something ridiculous like 1,00 photos in a gallery that comes with it
1:02 as well as all the trailers in Full Resolution it's got a couple of
1:05 accessories like this uh soft shell case
1:08 as well as a sort of I don't know it's it's sort of an average feeling
1:13 Bluetooth mouse clearly for the Star
1:16 Wars fan but not necessarily the kind of thing that I would otherwise geek out
1:20 over although this is really cool the touchpad itself has Luke's Reed out from
1:24 A New Hope as they go down the Death Star trench so that is a pretty cool
1:29 touch but then I came over here and they're like well hold on a second
1:32 actually this is the star of the show this is the new folio and I'm like okay
1:37 so it's a business laptop it's an elitebook those are cool they tend to
1:41 have really nice glass touchpads they tend to have outstanding build quality
1:45 security features things like touch uh fingerprint sensors this one actually
1:49 doesn't have that but supposedly with a wink and a nudge they're investigating
1:53 other biometric Technologies so it's actually it's obviously got a actually
1:58 that looks like a real sense camera is that a real sense camera on
2:02 here I'm getting a bunch of shrugs but there's two lenses on the top okay it is
2:07 definitely not so all they'll tell me is they're investigating other biometric
2:11 Technologies I can't tell you guys more than that but the things that I do know
2:15 are the speeds and feeds as well as the form factor of this sucker so it's using
2:18 a Coram processor it's a fanless design and they've basically taken all that
2:22 extra space not to mention the extra power that comes along with the corm and
2:26 used it all up to give you better battery a rock sound system and hold on
2:31 a second I will get back to that in a moment as well as by far the best
2:36 keyboard I have ever encountered on an HP laptop this size and this weight
2:40 which is not really saying anything because they've never done anything this
2:43 thin or this light before but it actually does feel surprisingly good now
2:48 back to the audio quality why would that matter they actually talk about this
2:52 thing I heard two reps screw up and call it a phone because they really do intend
2:56 for it to be used as a business phone whether it's individually with the 720p
3:01 webcam and not to mention the dedicated Hardware Skype buttons for hanging up
3:05 and muting all that cool stuff but actually just as a collaborative device
3:09 so you can sit down use the 180° hinge sit across the table from it and boom
3:13 now it really is legitimately more phone
3:16 than computer I think that pretty much wraps it up oh yeah no it doesn't it
3:20 comes with a 10-hour battery life with the full HD display it features an NVMe
3:24 SSD up to 512 gigs they're quoting 10 hours of battery life for the 1080p but
3:31 uh they won't say anything about the 4K for now we can probably assume it'll be about 2 hours to 2 and 1 half hours less
3:36 than that depending on screen usage and
3:39 I think I'm pretty much done yes oh yeah
3:42 the audio system is banging Olson if that matters to you people who think
3:45 bang and Olson might be a fairly reputable audio brand so thank you guys
