0:14 the steel series flux in-ear now i've been using the in-ear pros for a couple
0:18 of weeks now and i have to say i absolutely love them with that said the
0:24 in-ear pros with their comply tips and all the adapters so you can use the
0:27 microphone on your pc and all that kind of stuff are a more premium option they
0:31 do cost quite a bit more than the in-ears which i haven't had the pleasure to try yet but i am looking forward to
0:36 checking them out so the in-ears like i said more value-oriented product with
0:40 that said they still feature six millimeter drivers which at this kind of
0:44 a price point is a good thing it still has a microphone and my expectation
0:49 because it's a steel series product is that the microphone's not going to be
0:52 that bad for example on the in-ear pros when we did our video about them we actually
0:57 recorded part of the audio from the video
1:00 with the inline microphone that was built into one of the sides
1:06 and the thing that surprised me about it was the audio quality actually wasn't bad even though the microphone wasn't
1:11 sitting right next to my mouth so i'm really excited to check that out so what
1:14 do they have to say for themselves here frequency response 20 hertz to 20
1:19 kilohertz okay 19 ohm impedance this is important because you want that to be a
1:23 low number for mobile devices so that they're able to push audio clearly more
1:28 easily all right 100 decibel sensitivity gotcha 1.2 meter flat cable we'll show
1:34 you that in a moment and the mic pattern is omnidirectional so it is not a
1:38 directional mic which is good because when you have a mic that's built into
1:42 the wire on an in-ear headphone like this
1:46 if it's facing the wrong way for example the only thing it would hear is the
1:49 sound of your shirt moving against it so they include a quick start guide some
1:54 mobile accessories including their flux headphones which you can get in a
1:57 variety of different finishes and whatnot the free um i don't know what this one is but
2:02 this is the free game controller it's a bluetooth game controller
2:07 we've got a steel series sticker as well as
2:11 oh a warning about not damaging your hearing other than that nothing else
2:15 else inside the box so the packaging is pretty bare bones it comes with a little
2:18 pouch to keep your headphones in as well as your accessories so it comes with
2:22 three different sizes of ear tips large extra large and gargantuan no i'm
2:28 just kidding it comes with small medium and large so we can go ahead and check
2:32 that out so it looks like the small ones and the large ones are the ones that
2:38 are not actually pre-attached to the headset so we'll go ahead and open this
2:43 up now unlike the pro it doesn't come with the
2:46 adapter to take the 4-pole to two three
2:49 pulls for plugging into a pc with that said you could use an adapter and you
2:53 could still plug it in should you so desire it also doesn't have quite the
2:57 same thickness of cable as the pro so on
3:00 the left you see the non-pro and on the right you see the pro so that's uh
3:04 that's what makes the cable uh non-tangle is that flatness and that
3:09 thickness so it's not going to be quite as tangle resistant as the pro level
3:12 skew but again this makes sense they're also a little bit lighter weight one
3:16 thing i noticed about the pros is that they do tend to have some some weight on
3:21 your head when you're wearing them but it's okay because they wrap around the
3:24 ear so there's somewhere for that weight to be supported with the non-pros they
3:28 are intended see they're labeled here there's your left and there's your right
3:32 on the inside of the earbud piece they are intended to be worn like normal
3:37 iems which is right inside the ear canal
3:40 hanging down like this so steelseries calls them passively noise cancelling
3:44 which basically means that because of the seal that they have between your ear
3:48 and the outside world there's no there's no background hiss no active noise
3:52 cancellation but they are isolating in that you are less able to hear the noise
3:57 around you you can swap the ear tips relatively
4:00 easily as with pretty much all iemc look you can see there's that those six
4:04 millimeter drivers that's why the end of these are so big compared to most uh
4:10 low-cost headphones that you find out there and by low-cost i sort of mean
4:13 anything under sort of three figures
4:17 and the reason that's so big is because they actually have a bigger speaker in
4:20 it the overall id looks very nice it has kind of a rubberized finish here and
4:25 then the silver steel series logo so it's not just white
4:28 it actually has some shininess to it one advantage that the non-pros have over
4:32 the pros is that the pros switch to a round cord up at the top meaning they
4:37 lose some of their tangle resistance near the top and this is because they wrap around your ear whereas the
4:41 non-pros use a flat cable all the way from the bottom to the top they have an
4:46 inline volume control or rather an inline microphone and then an inline
4:51 control it's not volume control but you can use this to take a call on your
4:54 phone or hang up a call because it does have a built-in microphone and then
4:57 you've also got a little steel series logo on the back there so that's
5:01 pretty much what you'd expect cable length wise uh this is a good test for
5:05 any sort of headphone
5:08 because you always want to know okay so when i'm actually wearing the thing so
5:13 i'll plug into my uh my phone here do i have enough slack so that i can kind of
5:17 make it under a shirt and then sort of up a shirt and then see how it goes from
5:22 there now i think the mediums are a little bit big for me so i'm going to want to switch to the smalls before i
5:27 really listen to them and i'm just going to see if we missed anything else that
5:30 steel series has to say about themselves so i mean they're a gaming company so
5:33 they're obviously saying yeah you can use these for gaming but you're not
5:36 required to you can use them with your phone or other devices as well
5:40 and i think that's pretty much all there is to say about it advanced dynamic
5:44 drivers for detailed sound inline microphone and controls you know what i
5:47 do want to do a quick test of the of the tangle resistance here wow those really
5:52 like suction into your ears that's uh that's a bit different
5:57 so let's go ahead let's give it a good tangle shall we this will be the last
6:00 thing in this video so we're gonna do the whole like tangle
6:04 it up really good put it in the pocket and let's see how the uh the tangle
6:08 resistance holds up for the for the in-ears so it should be noted
6:13 that there's no such thing as a pair of headphones that is completely tangle
6:17 proof which is why whenever i see tangle proof on the box for a product i do say
6:22 tangle resistant but when i compare these to my clip chest for eyes when i
6:26 did those with the s4s i had a much bigger problem than that
6:30 getting them undone so very nice good work to steal series thank you for
