0:00 you're are going okay uh nope not that one the
0:03 other one Chrome and then yeah Chrome's stupid
0:08 restore session that's just Absolut recent yeah it's
0:13 ridiculous and just doesn't work
0:18 sometimes wow Chrome you are so terrible
0:22 I just love you I just love you to
0:27 pieces recent tads none
0:31 it's like yeah I know the computer trash but it's just like really like really
0:37 like oh man the D Dem black magic
0:40 drivers man they were you know we were doing real well for a bit and the funny
0:45 thing is that's even on their fancy like $1,000 or $22,000 however much it costs
0:51 like 4K capture card and it just like
0:55 sometimes oh no no no cuz this was an HDMI one no it is on the intensity Pro
0:59 cuz sometimes it just outrights like yeah no blue screen sorry not so see you
1:06 all right so you know what guys I hate to kind of make you sit through this but
1:10 because it will take me about an extra 6
1:13 to 12 hours to have the wow archive up
1:17 if we uh if we don't do like if I cut it
1:21 together afterward there are a few reasons for that um and it's absolutely
1:24 terrible so we're going to kind of just start over and then we're going to Nuke
1:28 our first topic so we're going to do an extr extremely quick intro paid
1:33 prioritization on the internet Watch Dogs is going to run at crappy
1:37 resolutions not on the PC uh knock to a fans new one's coming an Adaptive sync
1:42 is also coming
1:58 boom
2:11 so our sponsors today are squarespace.com the fast easy way to
2:15 create your own beautiful website and ASUS with the g750 JZ this laptop is so
2:23 great that I use it with my
2:28 mate don't hate
2:34 I can't rhyme in your response is too
2:37 late all right so let's move on to our
2:41 oh I guess since it was one of our headline topics we better at least sort
2:44 of talk about it very briefly so FCC approves internet fast lane basically
2:49 that's just a way of screwing over people who don't have the money to pay
2:52 for the fast lane you know what's funny and we actually I guess we didn't talk
2:55 about this last time around but it really is like that because calling it
3:00 calling it an internet fast lane is actually the very best way to explain
3:06 what it is it is a way of making sure that the people who don't have way too
3:10 much money so that they just don't even care anymore um just all get stuck in
3:16 like sitting in traffic and wasting their time they're taking a three lane
3:20 Highway and making it so that one of the lanes is paid for only so the other two
3:24 lanes have way too much traffic all the time and then this one's awesome but
3:27 only has really rich people on I mean um so have you ever have you ever been to
3:32 Toronto uh for like a half an hour okay
3:35 so Toronto has basically they have like
3:38 two kind of not quite but like two somewhat equivalent highways and one of
3:44 them is a toll Highway and the other one is the sit and don't move Highway and
3:50 the toll highway is so expensive because
3:54 you actually you get told when you get on and then it actually keeps track of
3:58 how far you go and then tolls you like based on how far
4:02 you went at the exit and the way like
4:06 the the way they enforce this is it's it's all cameras but get this if you try
4:10 to dodge the toll they'll actually they keep records of all the vehicles
4:15 matching a given description and when they catch you they look for patterns
4:19 and when they catch you they hit you with the entire Bill plus interest so
4:24 like it's absolutely brutal and basically I remember I forget I forget
4:29 how much it costs but I was there and
4:33 um and and I worked it out and it was something like an hour of your wage per
4:39 day if you were making like okay money
4:42 just to get to and from work aside from gas aside from insurance which of course
4:48 the the local government is also collecting taxes on yeah it's just
4:53 absolutely brutal that's nasty so that is what a fast lane is a fast lane is a
4:58 way of saying saying you got lots of money all right man you don't got lots
5:04 of money you can go get in that one get in Highway that doesn't move ever yeah
5:10 pretty much okay okay so this is pretty
5:14 fantastic this was posted originally on the Forum by death Jester we're going to
5:19 go ahead and share my screen here Watch Dogs the Watchdogs experience so okay so
5:26 here's a quote from the article which was on the Ubisoft blog our nextg system
5:30 or on nextg systems the game will run at 900p on PS4 which actually is not that
5:36 bad upscaled 900p is not that bad that's
5:41 what like 80% of the resolution of 1080p is that's it's still not 1080P and 1080p
5:46 is kind of meh on a TV though remember you're playing on a TV so 1080p is like
5:51 as good as it get not not everyone plays these on TVs that's true but you're
5:55 still playing on a 1080p display especially like dorm room people yeah
5:59 yeah okay so so you're playing at 1080p so 900p not that bad it's going to run at
6:05 792p on the Xbox
6:09 One what is
6:12 792p like they're just they're just inventing things it's like what it's the
6:18 highest it's probably the highest they could get that sits at 30 FPS yeah but
6:22 it's two better than 790p why didn't you go with 790p why not 793 highest they
6:28 could possibly get where it sits stable at 30 FPS I tell you that was it it runs
6:32 at 30 frames per second on both on both consoles and um basically what Ubisoft
6:38 had to say is while some new gen games now offer native 1080p it was much more
6:43 important to deliver an amazing NextGen experience than to push a few more
6:47 pixels onto the screen and this is a quote resolution is a number just like
6:52 frame rate is a
6:58 number
7:02 oh no resolution is not just a number resolution is one part of the overall
7:08 visual Fidelity but that assumes that
7:11 the resolution is at a reasonable enough
7:14 level that it's not detracting from the
7:18 experience experience is a word just like how gameplay is a
7:28 word how did I ever do this show without
7:32 you oh right less
7:36 expensively you don't pay me for the whole show and actually at the beginning
7:40 when I first came on you didn't pay me for the show at all for like a year and
7:44 a half or something I don't think it was a year and a half I think it was I don't
7:48 know when it was it was a year and whatever mons I think that a year is
7:54 just a period of
7:58 time oh no oh man so okay guys this is this
8:05 is the problem with this okay like look look at it this way when you're playing
8:09 a game like Battlefield 4 where it's available on the PC it's available on
8:13 the PlayStation 4 it's available on the Xbox 360 it's available on all these
8:17 platforms that gives you an opportunity to evaluate the importance of like
8:24 gaming hardware and you know what I think when you and I were doing our
8:28 evaluation with the gen versus last gen versus entry level PC we pretty much
8:32 agreed PlayStation 4 you know what not a bad value the the difference and we this
8:38 was Assassin's Creed at the time and that was running at 900p at the time
8:41 wasn't it uh I think so it was something like that I can look at up it was 720p
8:46 on uh it was 720p on Xbox one for sure
8:49 and I think we could agree and just jump
8:52 in if I'm saying things that are totally unfair but I think we could agree that
8:56 PlayStation 4 looked a hell of a lot closer to the entry level PC like
9:00 basically yeah yeah sitting a distance away from but the Xbox One experience
9:05 because the resolution was so low even though maybe they're running similar
9:09 detail levels and they've got the same physics simulations and all that
9:12 gameplay stuff that is really important the resolution was so low that it
9:17 detracted from the experience it was very noticeable it was it was obvious
9:23 and your eyes kind of went oh like crap like this would look good if it wasn't
9:28 for yeah that that people are saying 1080p now but I think there was0 I think
9:33 there was an update no there was an update so the point is that up to a
9:38 certain point resolution's just a number
9:41 and when your TV is going to be you know 20 ft away from you or something like
9:46 that 1080p versus 4K you may not even be
9:49 able to tell depending on the screen size and stuff too depending on screen size depending on distance depending on
9:54 content but 1080p versus 360 P you'd be
10:00 able to tell and then like 1080p versus like you know whatever the lowest one
10:05 like is it like 144 or like whatever the
10:08 like lowest vertical line resolution is
10:11 going to be distracting and terrible and
10:15 I it's in my mind 792p for something that we're going to
10:19 call a nextg gaming experience I I
10:23 understand what they're doing but it's a totally unacceptable gaming experience
10:28 in my mind but I don't blame Ubisoft for
10:31 this at all no not their fault in fact
10:36 Ubisoft I'm going to do this you know why they push the
10:40 experience that they needed to push that's right and on the platforms that
10:45 can do it they're going to deliver that experience they had the balls to say
10:49 look we're going to make an awesome game that looks fantastic and has a bunch of
10:54 really cool features does and it does and you know what if people don't buy
10:57 the right Hardware fine then they're going to get a lesser
11:02 experience and like we're sorry but like we did our best man we did our best and
11:07 deal with it honestly this the stuff ubisoft's been pushing out lately has
11:10 been really cool other than you play you play terrible yeah you play is terrible
11:14 really bad but like the game this live stream brought to you by Ubisoft you
11:18 play terrible oh wait hold on Noe no no no um one actually fairly interesting
11:23 thing is Mario Kart 8 on Wii U is going to be 1080p 60 FP hold on hold on this
11:27 is great this guy's like is such a suck up sometimes and then he probably hasn't
11:32 seen the part of the stream you play is terrible yeah you play is awful really
11:36 bad yeah you play as awful very possibly the worst one what I think Ubisoft
11:40 should do is they should just like uh make a deal with valve where they can
11:45 have their own up play but they can just skin steam a section on Steam like
11:50 there's the up playay section on Steam no valves should just sell them a
11:53 license for steam no way that would be so good that
11:58 would be awesome that would be awesome if anyone from valve is watching please
12:02 rescue them you you know that they need to have their own thing so they can feel
12:06 like big boys like like they have their online content distribution thing let
12:11 them build their own you can still make money off yeah you can still make money
12:14 off of it this way just let them license it so they can feel like they're doing
12:18 their own thing everyone's a winner
12:21 everybody everyone's a winner because it's so much better than origin and you
12:25 play and then and then maybe part of the license contract can be that browser
12:31 based what's that Battle Log Battle Log has to go away yes oh man I would be so
12:37 happy valve can rescue us all valve can literally save the whole universe okay
12:42 I'm sorry you were talking about Mario Kart and how marioart Nintendo is going
12:46 to be delivered Nintendo Mario Kart 8 on
12:49 Wii U 1080p 60fps including split screen
12:52 multiplayer they're just like nope it needs to be in this experience and it
12:56 looks really good and it has new features and all this kind of stuff stuff and boom done I mean part of
13:00 Nintendo's thing I I think they benefit from resolution more than other guys
13:06 because their graphical style it's kind of like blizzard where they're just like
13:11 okay we're going to make stuff that's really easy to run and then we're going
13:15 to call that a graphical style yeah but it looks really good but it works that
13:19 cartoony style works I mean that's not going to help
13:23 Nintendo stop losing money but and it's
13:27 not going to help watch dogs in any way no because Watch Dogs is not cartoon
13:31 this great who's this on Twitch uh adal
13:35 valant Battle Log is so much fun yeah it's basically its own game the game the
13:40 game is can you make it work press the button I don't if it works it's like
13:45 playing slots you know every time someone wants to play
13:50 Battlefield with me I'm like let's see
13:53 cuz I don't know and half the time it's like nope can't play okay good luck have
13:58 fun oh fantastic someone wants to know what
14:01 are the aftermarket buds on my ie80s um nothing these are just these are just
14:04 stock ie80s and I love them they're amazing they're my favorite they're my
14:08 favorite earphones ever um not because Sennheiser paid me to say that in fact
14:12 my relationship with Sennheiser has been very Rocky at times but I definitely do
14:17 love their products what's what are those tips that we used to use comply
14:20 yeah those were nice comply actually reached out they want us to do a review
14:24 and I was just kind of like how do you do a review of a piece of foam that goes
14:27 on the end of a yeah we could do like a 30 second review we could do a review of
14:31 just the tip I guess we don't want the whole thing good
14:36 but they break down and then you have to buy new ones and it gets expensive you
14:39 done I mean edzel buys them but my whole
14:43 thing was I don't want to get hooked because yeah I I cannot okay I can
14:49 afford to buy foam tips but I would feel
14:53 stupid yeah it's yeah it's not like that
14:57 much money but it just seems like an investment where you're like wow do I
15:00 really need to do this I'm locking into this commitment but you know what in the
15:05 grand scheme of things they do sound better and they are way more comfortable
15:10 way more comfortable if they had like a subscription service as stupid as this
15:13 sounds they should have one though soent
15:16 has a subscription service yeah like well I mean one of our sponsors Dollar
15:20 Shave Club like if you told if Dollar Shave Club came to us and they're like
15:24 yeah we have this great idea you're going to buy razors online I be like wow
15:29 you're an idiot that's a terrible idea that's a terrible idea but the whole
15:33 subscription model makes it actually work really well because you're
15:37 committing a small amount of money spread out over a long period of time
15:41 and then you don't have to think about it because to me it's really about the hassle I'll tell you what if anyone from
15:45 comply is watching if you guys figure out a subscription model where it like I
15:50 just get a new set of tips once a quarter or something like that and it's
15:54 inexpensive and like I get a discount for being like part of the club kind of
15:58 like what again one of our other sponsors 54 where they take their store
16:02 and they basically go okay look you sign up for the subscription and you have
16:06 half price off of MSRP and we send it to you once a month like if comply figures
16:10 out something like that where they get the commitment from me so they can rely
16:14 on the business and I get a discount and the convenience I will commit and I will
16:19 start using comply tips so recently came out of their like beta phase they're now
16:23 selling normally beta food I know with
16:26 the way beta tests go like well they have they have FCC approved even though
16:31 that's still kind of sketchy but they do have a nutritional label now and all that kind of stuff so that's kind of
16:35 good they have a nutritional label but
16:38 nutritional labels are just
16:41 numbers this is not going to end like
16:45 ever um we need a t-shirt resolution is
16:48 just a number and then it should be all like pixelated and shitty looking yeah
16:52 that's actually not a bad idea guys let us know if we need to do that you know
16:56 what I'm I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to just jump on this we we have to
17:00 make that t-shirt need uh resolution is
17:03 just a number t-shirt resolution is just a number just like yeah and the text
17:09 should look crappy and low res okay I'm
17:12 I'm sending that to edzel I'm trying to think of some way that you can include just like FPS is just a number it's it
17:18 would be too long it would be too it would be too long for one and then for
17:21 two the only way that I can think of that you could style it properly would be like lagging the the word the letters
17:25 out and that would just look really weird yeah and like if you want the the
17:29 words to be low res enough to kind of get the joke it's going pretty big
17:32 they'll take up space so you can actually read it and stuff so yeah resolution is just a number t-shirt
17:36 we're going to we're going to get on that you guys yeah I'm sorry our t-shirt
17:39 supply chain takes so long we're looking into some other options um so stay tuned
17:44 on that you guys yeah but yeah so they they win Subscription Service recently
17:48 and I think that's really smart because a big problem with that whole thing
17:52 sorry we're back to talking about soilent I've lost TR I had to think about it for a second what is he talking
17:57 about subscription condoms that probably
18:00 exists it probably does it would make you feel really insu like it would
18:04 wouldn't it make you feel crappy when you start to get a stockpile and you'd be like Oh I'm not oh
18:09 no I'm not doing very well here there's you you know how I
18:13 sometimes try and find like people that want to do pre-rolls and stuff like that
18:17 um I I was watching a yeah this is going to go there um I was watching an old
18:21 Archive of one of The Young Turks videos
18:25 on some topic I don't even remember why I was watching it but there sponsor for
18:28 the video was some condom website and I thought about it and I had like written
18:32 the email being like maybe we should contact them and I was like no because I
18:36 was like well our target audience would be so big for them wait because they'll have large
18:41 penises well I mean you probably do but
18:44 yeah but I meant more the male side yeah
18:48 we should totally do it why not I did I wasn't a huge fan of the website oh okay
18:52 if it was like a better service or a better website then I probably would have actually sent the email but it was
18:57 kind of okay okay yeah cuz if we can find I guess well there's the challenge
19:01 if we can find a not sketch yeah online
19:05 condom seller well like durx wouldn't be
19:08 sketch but then it would have to be like a subscription service to them or
19:12 whatever so and like I don't know if that's going to work but anyways back to
19:15 soilent again um my biggest problem with
19:18 it is like the second you run out you're like okay well I'm going to have to wait
19:21 two weeks or something until I get more so the time to not be using this for a
19:26 while right cuz you you can never be on cycle properly can never actually test
19:30 it yeah exactly so now they actually have a subscription thing you can sign
19:35 up for a month or whatever weeks or I don't know I didn't really look that a far into it but you can get a
19:38 subscription and they're like yeah it'll show up a little bit before the end
19:41 because it's not that big of a deal because this stuff lasts for like years
19:45 before it expires so it'll show up before you're out and you're good it's
19:49 like okay cool and then if you listen to everything he just said and you imagine
19:52 he's talking about condoms that works too actually all of
19:57 that would have been accurate would yep I was paying
20:00 attention awesome I mean whenever we're
20:03 talking about condoms I'm definitely paying
20:07 attention subcription so this is a topic SS o e l e dude we're you know what
20:13 normally we don't we don't no normally we don't change people's names on The
20:17 Forum like it's kind of against Forum policy but if if he or she ever wants to
20:23 message me and get a name change we will take care of that for you so that I can
20:28 pronounce your name when you post things that are helpful like
20:32 this whatever anyway the point is excuse
20:35 me the point is that nocta has released penis size is just a
20:41 number and the entire twitch chat
20:46 exploded oh my God that's awesome maybe we should have a low reses penis on the
20:51 resolution is just a number shirt well it's like small enough that
20:55 you can't really make out what it is yeah yeah like a low res cocking balls
20:58 like right under the under the in the corner or something so it just looks
21:01 like an underline or something yeah so it's just like four squares right oh
21:06 yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah there you go oh terrible that's awesome you know I
21:10 don't think I've ever used that word on the stream before no probably probably
21:14 shouldn't all right so Noctua has new fans coming you guys this is pretty
21:20 freaking exciting new fans in new colors
21:23 although the way the internet exploded about this news um kind of made me feel
21:29 like they didn't really watch our computex coverage from last year like
21:33 one year ago we broke this news showed
21:36 off all these
21:39 fans and it takes Noctua a year this is what I like about Noctua they don't seem
21:44 to care about making money nope they just don't they just like so many so
21:51 many fan companies or cooler makers you look at them and you just kind of go you
21:55 know I wish they would just give up their precious money and spend a bunch
21:59 of money making like a really great quality fan which they'd probably make a
22:03 lot of money off of which well no I don't think so because like the you look
22:08 at how much nocta spends on the packaging you know to make sure and you
22:12 can't have a premium brand without having good packaging I think this has
22:15 been proven time and time again I'm not criticizing them for spending money on
22:18 packaging you have to so they've got their premium packaging they've got
22:21 actually legitimately well-built products the amount of R&D I mean it
22:25 took them a year to get these to Market I don't think after they were working
22:29 yes I don't think their margin is any better than any other fan maker and if I
22:33 had to guess I would guess it's probably worse so like on a bomb cost basis like
22:38 you look at what the other guys can afford to spend on marketing whereas we go to nocta and we're like hey you know
22:44 we love your products um you know we would have no problem Shilling the heck
22:48 out of them because we think they're great and they just kind of go like we
22:52 don't really have a marketing budget so
22:55 yeah we thank you for loving our products we'll send you as many of our
22:58 products as you want which is kind of awesome which is great which which
23:02 actually use them all the time that was all we really wanted
23:06 anyway but uh I don't remember where I was going
23:10 with this right right right so I love that they just have the balls to have a
23:14 product that's pretty much ready to rock like a year ago take a year to bring it
23:18 out because that's how long it takes to get it perfect and I'm assuming it's
23:21 perfect they are in the mail but we don't have them yet but anyway the redo
23:25 line takes away some of the little extra
23:28 like rubber grommets and brings back some of the older designs that we
23:32 haven't seen in a while like the older S12 non- rux and cost them down a little
23:37 bit to make noct tool quality a little bit more affordable which I think is
23:41 great but and then nope oh these are the ones that have my attention I mean we're
23:45 talking $30 plus a fan for industrial
23:49 grade Noctua fans and they're black and
23:52 they just have little brown accents and they have all the way up to IP67 water
23:58 and dust proofness they're available at a couple of different RPM levels and
24:02 Holy balls these are exciting because I
24:06 well that it's the only fan they look
24:09 really sharp that really matters if you want the and I again I haven't even
24:14 touched them yet but because of noct to's reputation I'm comfortable saying
24:17 they're going to be the only fan in terms of the highest possible quality PC
24:21 Fan Experience that you're going to be wanting to look at so and those those
24:25 rubber accents on the end can one probably be changed in color pretty
24:29 easily yep um and two they're removable so that'll be even more easy to change
24:33 the color and and they're the dark dark brown yes not the light brown that a lot
24:38 of people complained about anyways yeah I'm I'm all right with the color I don't
24:41 mind it it's like a chocolate color as opposed to like like a digestive problem
24:46 and if ASUS stops making golden motherboards maybe it'll be okay ASUS's
24:52 motherboards I'll have you know are the gold standard oh and that is why they
24:56 are gold speaking of ASUS is JJ ever
24:59 going to join us here I I we haven't had our video chat open so I don't even know
25:04 if he has uh has tried to send a friend
25:08 request or anything I don't see any requests and I don't see any emails from
25:13 the uh the jmeister so maybe JJ will
25:16 join us next week I don't know boom oh you know we never showed the results of
25:21 that straw pole that we ended up crashing the stream over wanting to show
25:24 them are you happy with your ISP why
25:28 wow a third of the people say yes remember though our time zone for this
25:33 show is very well lined up with Australia oh yeah that's a good point
25:39 they should definitely be answering no all of them should be answering no
25:42 anyone from Australia go back and change your answer seriously he said yes
25:49 wrong not good enough a full 24% said
25:54 cucumber I you know what I might have said cucumber cuz you don't put multi
25:58 options do you nope nope you have to
26:01 choose one option you got to commit yes no or
26:06 cucumber oh man we haven't even covered anything we
26:11 didn't really have much of a show lined up today because we were expecting JJ to
26:14 talk to us and tell us about z97 we talked about
26:19 stuff we talked about FCC we talked about Watch Dogs we talked about uh
26:22 Noctua fans we talked about nocta fans okay well let's talk about how Xbox one
26:27 is slightly less unfair now so um they
26:30 did a couple of things here that I think I would look at and say wow that's
26:35 really commendable if they weren't so terrible in the first place so number
26:40 one is the fact that like honestly I've never owned an Xbox okay no I have owned
26:45 an Xbox I have an Xbox 360 and an Xbox
26:50 One okay I do I own two Xbox were both for not for really personal use much I
26:56 could have used them but you did didn't
27:00 right so one of the biggest issues that I had from day one like when I found out
27:06 as a PC Gamer traditionally anyway this was posted on the Forum by rafy um when
27:11 I found out as a PC Gamer that they had an Xbox Live gold membership that I had
27:16 to have to like update my profile or
27:20 voice chat with people or play multiplayer I was just like what are you
27:24 are you high like are you stupid like if
27:27 we just and I kind of said at the time I remember saying at the time look if we
27:31 all just boycott this it'll go away like
27:34 that instantly it'll go away because
27:37 they have to sell consoles and they have to sell games and if we refuse if we
27:42 just all stand there and not pay for it those subscription fees will go away
27:47 looks like it's happening Microsoft is getting a little desperate and then the
27:52 other thing that's terrible in the first place is the fact that the connect which
27:55 was forced to be bundled with the Xbox
27:59 one you were forced to buy one if you wanted an Xbox One um is now an
28:04 option um and I mean connect is just
28:07 like it's one of those things where you know what a $100 Delta and I wanted an
28:13 Xbox one I would probably buy the connect option I have a young family for
28:19 kids you know what casual connect games
28:22 I would rather and and this is like this is like that kind of thing that the
28:26 gaming Community makes fun of and I wholeheartedly agree with you guys it's
28:30 all kind of silly and you'd have the control of being able to stand in your kitchen and when your kid won't get off
28:35 the Xbox just be like Xbox off like it's
28:38 one of those things where I would rather my kids play at a game that at least has
28:42 them waving their ARM around if nothing else I don't I don't want to see I don't
28:47 want to see my son like Flack do life
28:51 this for four hours at a time I it's one
28:54 of those things like I I don't know like I did it as a kid I turned out all right
28:58 but at the same time I just I don't know it just seems
29:02 like it can happen you just probably want a mix of things like my parents
29:06 were cool with it but I was extremely active I was in tons of sports and all
29:09 this kind of stuff but then I would also lay completely across the couch and play
29:13 more win for days on it right so like I don't know like I don't know what the
29:18 right answer is but I but I will say that if I was going to buy the kids an
29:21 Xbox game I would rather like you know Dance Off challenge or whatever versus
29:27 like you know blood blood sport 16 kind
29:31 of Duty yeah Call of Duty like Space
29:35 Edition or whatever that don't worry the amibas have ai yeah we we got like a big
29:41 time actor to put in the trailer because we don't know what else to do who just
29:45 plays a character that he has no matter what definitely very recently played
29:49 like no differences I know it's exactly the same
29:53 person have you watched that at all yes I have yeah I'm just like
29:59 wow why is this even a video game why don't we just make it a movie then at
30:03 this point I legitimately looked up to see if he was actually playing the same
30:06 character like I was wondering if they had made a deal with Netflix or
30:09 something to like integrate the show into the game I was like oh that's kind of interesting that's an interesting
30:13 idea nope it's like oh okay guess not so
30:19 anyway I I I don't know remember where we were going with this but uh so you'll
30:25 be able to buy the connect separately later this fall you can get the console for $100 cheaper without connect
30:30 someone's calling me and uh something else right Xbox Gold is no longer
30:35 required for popular entertainment experiences like Netflix and Hulu Plus
30:40 and that's baffling to me why did you ever need that in the first place yeah
30:43 and I can't imagine that Netflix H Hulu Plus and those guys really wanted that
30:46 to be there at all they've probably been pushing against it as well but what can
30:50 they do right yeah you know I used to play Halo 2 online so I had to have a
30:54 gold subscription and what I would do is I would have my whole friend written out
30:59 and then every single time that uh you
31:02 know you were a sucker were Su every time my one month would uh close you
31:07 would get a one month free if you made a new MSN
31:12 account so I had my whole friends list written
31:16 out I'm not going to go into what I did from there your friends must have but I
31:21 had a hard copy of my friend yeah they
31:24 did that is so annoying
31:28 oh it's the first okay Luke's freaking
31:31 like gonna have to read him because he's a jack at bum Pooh head I was like I I
31:39 was paying for my games at that point in time and like there's no way I'm going
31:42 to pay that much money for this stupid Online subscription that I don't want to
31:46 do and there like there's no way your parents are going to buy that for you no
31:50 nope I I I I I've I've I've met I've
31:53 spent enough time with his parents to be like yeah they're pretty supportive but
31:56 like you f figure it out yeah I paid for I played ever Quest back in the day I
32:00 paid for those I paid for those monthlies that's why you got into Eve
32:05 online because you could earn your subscription fee
32:08 yeah uh wow subscriptions I think my parents helped me out a little bit
32:12 though but then it was my brother my dad and I and we all played together like my
32:16 mom came and played with us sometimes too and stuff so it was like we're all
32:19 yeah that was kind of cool and for a lot of times we even shared an account all
32:23 three of us so yeah all right so you
32:27 know what's funny is there was a post in this thread so this was originally
32:30 posted by Tech fanatic on the Forum thank you very much for posting that
32:34 said that like haa lonus was so down on
32:37 AMD's free sync LOL show you know goes
32:41 to show him and I was a little bit confused by that was I ever at any point
32:45 down on freesync a little bit what did I
32:48 say you said it wasn't going to work but then I think you I think I said it
32:51 wouldn't work with the scalers now yeah and I'm pretty sure specific words were
32:55 current form and said that that was NVIDIA saying that yeah um and I know I
33:02 know that you said it won't work in its current form and when the news first
33:05 broke on uh NCH I actually posted that
33:09 to Facebook and I was like holy crap does this completely invalidate g-sync
33:14 existence yeah so I don't know where all this came from but I am totally 100% on
33:20 board with AMD's free sync now called
33:23 active sync there there's one thing that I'm a little bit sketched out about so
33:27 far and that was doing some reading it's not 100% clear to me what cards it's
33:32 going to work on because it looks like they're saying R9
33:38 290x and 260x which would basically be um Hawaii
33:44 version whatever it is the new ones um
33:48 so not the Reb Badges of the Tahiti core ones which would really suck which would
33:53 be really sucky and then there's no mention of NVIDIA cards now what I think
33:59 is AMD's whole stance lately has been
34:02 Open Standards this and that so I sincerely hope that it's an open
34:07 standard uh but I would hate to see it
34:11 happen where NVIDIA is pushing a gsync standard and AMD is pushing an Adaptive
34:17 sync standard and we end up with monitors that support one or the other
34:20 or both because and this is something I have criticized NVIDIA about asking
34:26 people to lock into something is kind of sucky I do understand that if you
34:31 develop the technology like they they basically built their own scaler
34:35 hardware for monitors it's not just a software trick I mean if you're
34:39 developing the technology I understand that you want to benefit from it and the
34:42 only way you're going to benefit from it is a license fee to the monitor guys and
34:46 selling more graphics cards to go with those monitors but that doesn't mean I
34:49 have to be happy about it um and I I
34:52 think that it will be definitely the wrong path if both of them try to do
34:56 that I mean the good news about adaptive sync is unlike gsync it looks like it's
35:01 going to be a very simple implementation so anything with DisplayPort
35:05 1.2a uh will have adaptive sync as part
35:08 of the Vasa standard um which which
35:12 pretty much I mean you know don't don't quote me on this six months down the
35:18 line really don't quote me on this but if that happens active sync is going to
35:23 just be in any monitor with a DisplayPort Port because remember guys display
35:27 port is free to implement on your monitor compared to the license fees
35:30 associated with HDMI so it'll just support active sync and I really don't
35:35 know what the future of gsync will be one thing that NVIDIA did say openly was
35:40 that we really want the gaming experience to be better and that's why
35:45 we made this technology so I really hope that if they managed to move the
35:49 industry forward that they still feel good about themselves and that we all
35:53 still remember who did it so that's I guess all I have to say say about that
35:57 and I I say the same and it's not because you know I've got you know a
36:02 raging you know hard on for NVIDIA it's
36:05 because I do appreciate anyone who pushes the industry forward I don't have
36:09 a ton of love for Apple but I appreciate that they pushed resolution forward even
36:14 though they don't even make displays why did it take apple to to develop the
36:19 retina concept boy and like I appreciate other
36:24 things they do like the fact that they focus on accur color for their displays
36:28 whereas everyone else other than Google seems to be and HTC is doing a better
36:32 job lately I mean well everyone's doing a better job lately but Apple started it
36:36 and so I I think we just all need to appreciate the guys who innovate even if
36:40 that Innovation isn't inventing or actually building something if it's just
36:45 awareness and making people understand that something needs to happen so there
36:49 that's what I have to say about that I guess there's some other stuff in there isn't there something about like
36:54 potentially DisplayPort 1.3 as well uh well DisplayPort 133 will be able to
36:59 support 8K although it'll have to change the
37:03 connector to be able to support H 8K or 4K 3D so that's not necessarily tied
37:08 into the actual adaptive sync thing that's just talking about future display
37:11 port connectors and if anyone wants an explanation of adaptive sync basically what it means is that your monitor will
37:15 only refresh when your graphics card outputs a signal so it's just like gsync
37:20 and it will reduce tearing and leg and it really does make a very big
37:24 difference it's like fantastic fantastic low persistence is cool man yeah and low
37:29 persistence on top of that is going to turn the LCD gaming experience into
37:33 finally legitimately better than a CRT gaming experience yeah you know how
37:38 people were talking about so many years later yeah yeah this is totally off
37:43 topic completely but you know how people were talking about how our office was dirty in the office tour video yes have
37:48 you seen Palmer's office no oh my God
37:53 there's just like the the side of his desk there's like an Ang angled pile of
37:57 garbage that goes all the way up and touches the top of his desk on both
38:01 sides and then on both sides of the door there's just like stuff and none of it's
38:06 like none of it necessarily looks like you should throw it away it's just stuff
38:11 just all over the place the whole top of his desk there's a laptop sitting like
38:14 angled on top of a bunch of books and other crap and like just is the top of
38:18 his desk worse than my desk was back at NC you remember the piles of paper that
38:23 I used to have on my desk right I think they're like I don't know cuz I didn't
38:26 get like a top down view M I got it from the side but that's got to be one of the
38:31 closest to your desk I've ever seen like it's it's insanity and there's like an
38:36 interview going on in there and he's just like yeah whatever I don't even care the number the number of PE 8K is
38:42 just a number uh the number of people
38:45 telling us or asking why we didn't clean up the office before we did a tour oh
38:50 you guys the number of hours that went into
38:54 clean up before that tour happened C
38:57 you wouldn't have even believed this place there was like okay here I'm going
39:01 to put this in perspective for a minute all that stuff in the garage was in the
39:06 house okay yeah so that's step one step number two all of the shelves the one in
39:11 Luke's office and the ones downstairs for the camera equipment were in the
39:16 house or sorry we didn't have the table
39:19 all that was on the floor yeah the table that was out in the garage that's just like a dining room table that has like
39:24 pedestal style feed under it so there's like not really any room under it that
39:28 was what we were using in place of where Brandon's shelf is so like all the stuff
39:33 that's on that shelf was either on that under it or on the floor in the in the
39:37 fastest possible green screen area sometimes when we had to shoot a fast as
39:41 possible we legit had to like rearrange
39:44 the piles of stuff on the floor so the lights could illuminate the green screen
39:48 correctly you guys have no idea like it's actually everyone around here has
39:52 been marveling lately at how easy it is to work right now it's it's it's quite a
39:56 amazing you can walk in a straight line for at least 2 seconds without running
40:00 into anything yeah and before like shuffling your foot forward would have
40:04 run into something I think Brandon's agility has leveled up at least six
40:09 levels since he started working here because that guy he almost cables he
40:13 almost ended up with the nickname cables if we hadn't started calling him Boll
40:17 before we started calling him cables he would have been cables for sure because
40:21 that guy when he first started working here you put a cable in a room he would
40:25 trip over it 100% like the number of times he has
40:29 almost destroyed the Sony fs700 camera the $8,000 camera I can probably count
40:35 on more than one hand yeah because of like tripping on something or hooking it
40:39 on something and like and then oh man there's this one time when he didn't
40:42 lock the tripod head oh no and it it was going down so fast that I I swear the
40:48 lens mount would have broken or something and then he's like w and he
40:51 caught it oh uh yeah and like he he's learn
40:56 learn the the foot flick yeah the footlick which most nerds that I know
40:59 know which is when you're like walking across and you trip on traditionally an
41:03 Ethernet cable but it could be anything your foot goes under it and then you
41:07 fall forward whip your foot back and then slam it forward so you can land and
41:12 you're okay you look kind of weird but you're okay but it doesn't pull on the
41:15 cable we should do a guide we should do a guide we should do a guide how to
41:19 navigate like we we noticed a lot of you were upset about the number of cables in
41:23 our office let's show you a little trick
41:26 it's called the foot flick the foot flick that would be awesome it should be
41:31 like a music video I I've always kind of wanted to do
41:34 a music video Everybody Do the foot flick everybody do the foot
41:40 flick that would be fantastic all right well we should probably do our sponsor
41:44 spots or something at some point here so uh bought to you by foot flick bought to
41:48 you by foot flick Squarespace the number one website for creating a website about
41:53 foot flick just go to squarespace.com sign up and you can have your website
41:58 online in just a matter of no time it'll look great on the desktop great on the
42:03 notebook which is basically the same thing and great on your tablet and
42:06 smartphone because the way that their templates work makes it super easy to
42:10 get set up and something I always forget to mention they have 247 tech support
42:15 yeah I always forget about this that is actually a huge deal it is it's not
42:19 phone support mind you but you can email them and I've actually I had my mom
42:23 tried them and even though like my mom's still didn't manage to figure it out
42:28 like they I read the responses and they were like super helpful and like really
42:32 fast and I was just like Ma you have to
42:35 you have to read it you can't just get an email from an internet company assume
42:40 you're not going to be able to read it and then call me you have to try to read
42:44 it like they they they they explain like if you just read the thing anyway my
42:50 mother aside Squarespace is super easy to use super scalable and apparent
42:56 apparently based on how much positive feedback I get about Squarespace you
43:01 guys love it so the number of people that have just sent me tweets thanking
43:05 me for the the the 10% off so if you head over to squarespace.com Linus and
43:11 use offer code Linus you can save 10% um so people thanking me for the 10% off
43:16 and people telling me how much they love it and how easy it is to use compared to
43:20 Wordpress or other services like that you can set up a portfolio you can set
43:24 up a Blog you can set up even a web store so they have an e-commerce module
43:28 and it's all compared to actually coding a website from scratch it's basically
43:33 drag and drop to the point where our designer did Linus Medi group.com as
43:38 opposed to having him do linusmediagroup
43:41 docomo designer they've got their tech support they've got the fact that it's
43:46 easy to use and the fact that you can just hit it as hard as you want and the
43:50 plans are very very scalable and they don't go down so there you go guys
43:54 squarespace.com we absolutely love it and uh the discount 10% yes it is just a
44:02 number thanks squ space we appreciate you guys we love you and uh inside joke
44:07 for whoever from Squarespace is uh is is watching this um right
44:21 now I think that's pretty much the end of the joke there so let's move on to
44:25 our next our next sponsor message you weren't there I have no idea what just happened
44:30 total inside joke okay he's going to he's going to freak out he's going to be
44:34 like dude really okay so the ASUS g750 JZ as far
44:40 as gaming laptops goes with go without
44:44 getting into the ones that are like so thick they legitimately don't fit into
44:48 backpacks in fact I actually have ASUS's
44:52 purpose built what did I just drop hopefully nothing important nope so I
44:56 have ASUS's purpose made Rog laptop that actually goes with the g750 JZ or any
45:02 other similar ASUS gaming notebook that's also uh well this size um where
45:07 was I going with this right yes so it's the gaming laptop that without going
45:11 into kind of the ludicrous specs is pretty much as good as you can get it's
45:16 got now you're just listing off rappers
45:20 oh I didn't even mean
45:23 to I was doing so good
45:27 I will give you 50 cents to go
45:31 away I I'm sorry I had to oh man oh man
45:36 I was doing so good and then he said ludicrous and I was just like boom
45:40 you've completely derailed
45:43 me okay so I'm trying to talk about this
45:47 laptop here so without getting into the ones that are absolutely crazy run crazy
45:51 hot and get like 30 minutes of battery life the g750 JZ is about as powerful as
45:56 you can get the onboard Graphics I mean okay I shouldn't say onboard the
45:59 built-in Graphics are a GTX 88m which is
46:03 actually a about equivalent to a GTX 770 desktop card and then the onboard CPU
46:08 onboard CPU why am I even saying these things you just you threw me for a loop
46:13 here I was doing so good I lifted up my laptop I put it back down I sat here I
46:18 just like looked around in the background and then ludicrous all right well I'm just going to have to make my
46:23 way through this as best I can here so the cooling is fantastic good enough
46:27 that we can actually run these laptops on our laps and wow I just got the 50
46:32 Cent reference I didn't get it till
46:48 now oh that was good okay okay can we do
46:54 we have our composure yeah
46:57 okay okay this laptop is very powerful
47:02 it's portable it's fast it runs really
47:05 cool it's high quality cuz it's made byus it's got a great overall fit and
47:10 finish to it we found that it's great for video editing it's great for gaming
47:15 it has a surprisingly excellent price to Performance ratio compared to thin and
47:20 light gaming notebooks and even compared to a desktop it's not as far off as
47:24 we've traditionally seen in the past you should check out the g750 JZ if you need
47:30 something that is while not super thin and light still portable and will
47:34 deliver a truly great gaming experience I mean we were able to run BioShock
47:38 Infinite on Ultra you were able to run pretty much everything you threw at it
47:41 like desktop grade specs I did my normal benchmarking sets for good graphics
47:46 cards so maximum everything essentially like Luke has different uh presets for
47:50 the games depending on what kind of a tier of product we're running and so we
47:54 were able to run all of the like Enthusiast class tiers and without the
48:00 laptop um something to tears I'm missing
48:03 the word there bursting into tears although that would be like water
48:09 cooled Next Level laptops they burst into tears when you put them into under
48:12 performance we need the snacks on this show do you have any M&M's no actually
48:22 a I was like what of course not ah a oh
48:27 my goodness oh yeah okay so I was I was
48:31 actually trying I was like I didn't prep my Jay-Z joke this week which like
48:35 needed some prep so I was like I'll just let him go and this week will be a calm
48:39 week and then nope not at all not at all
48:42 he said ludicrous I didn't even mean to on that
48:46 one I didn't even think of it that
48:50 wasn't even the spelling that was in my head no nope all right so posted on the
48:55 four Forum by someone anyway this is an article from an NCH The Shield gets
49:00 portal and half life too which uh here
49:03 if you want to run through this with everyone I'm going to go get the like
49:06 epic NVIDIA swag that they sent over here where you can find it it's a little
49:10 bit higher up there I don't think there's really actually that much to say
49:14 uh you can talk about how amazing it is yeah it's it's kind of awesome I really
49:17 appreciate that they're bringing this back because honestly it's been a really
49:22 long time since it came out so you could probably play it again and it would be
49:25 totally fine and having it on a shield is definitely something where you just
49:29 play it while you're like going to bed and it's not actually that big of a deal
49:33 um if you get portal and halflife 2 together it's about 10 bucks on Android
49:37 which is actually awesome because that's about the same price as they are on
49:40 Steam which is fantastic uh this is just way too cool
49:45 we have to show this like now yeah I know right I was so stoked when this
49:48 came in I guess he's got to get hooked up first um when it first launched it
49:52 ran on an ATI x800 Pro or uh slxt or
49:56 NVIDIA 6800 Ultra or gt and that Tegra 4
50:00 chip should theoretically be faster that's incredible and that's not even
50:04 Tegra K1 yet and Tegra K1 is like right
50:08 around the corner yeah they they're already leaking stuff for shield 2 which
50:11 will be running it so which is extremely exciting so we're at the point where
50:15 NVIDIA has done a lot of gum flapping
50:18 about you know console grade gaming experience on mobile but you look at how
50:24 long they've been at this like ever since the the whole the the original
50:27 Tegra and the Tegra 2 they've been saying look this is where we're trying
50:30 to get to It's actually kind of cool it's
50:35 actually happening yep it's actually happening and half is finally like half
50:40 lifee 2 Portal 2 this kind of stuff they're actually games that I really
50:43 legitimately want to play on the device I mean the funny thing is as soon as I
50:46 heard the announcement that Portal 2 was going to be coming I think two days
50:50 prior I had finished playing Portal using gamestream yeah yeah yeah it's
50:54 like so yeah I just played played through I played through the entire game
50:58 on my shield with gam stream fine right yeah you didn't have any downsides
51:02 didn't have any issues um but anyway so cool okay so this uh this was sent to us
51:06 from NVIDIA they hadn't like given us any preparation for what it would was
51:11 going to have anything to do with so it's basically just um a painted crowbar
51:16 uh it came in like this enormous box with way too much anti-static bubble
51:21 packaging yeah I guess when you're NVIDIA the only packaging you really
51:24 have is anti but uh there you go so it's a what would
51:28 Gordon do crowbar with a halflife 2 Lambda and an NVIDIA Shield logo on it
51:33 so this is freaking cool this will definitely live on the wall of Epic that
51:37 we need to recreate back here because we seriously need to redo the L show oh
51:41 definitely it's absolutely that's that's one of the coolest pieces of Swag I've
51:45 like ever seen 100% pretty pretty
51:48 amazing whoever thought that was a good idea was was on the money was not stupid
51:53 nope yay good job the better than
51:57 useless award the not stupid award that should be the only W that award that we
52:02 can possibly give out we should never have any other Awards other than better
52:05 than worthless better than worthless or better than better than all the terrible
52:10 words yeah yeah so we can just change whenever but it's essentially the same
52:13 idea better than putting nails in my
52:17 eye okay so this article from digital Journal honestly it's not the best
52:21 article I've ever read and uh I I don't know like I hate to I hate to generalize
52:26 about people but like this author needs
52:29 a better portrait James if you're watching dude please like it's like
52:35 selfie bad and it's like selfie in like
52:38 it looks like he took it on his webcam because you can see his screens reflected in his eyeglasses yeah it's
52:43 just like yeah he must have too yeah no see you can see yeah and like a really
52:46 old kind of crappy laptop webcam yeah so
52:50 James please please fix that um it's I mean it's not it's not that it's not
52:54 that bad but uh basically the point of the article which is you know like it's
52:59 it's actually pretty thorough for all of my for all my criticisms is that the NSA
53:04 and gchq are working on tour basically
53:09 and it is not as impenetrable as some
53:12 people would like to believe the main way that they are getting at your data
53:16 and tracking you is through browser plugins which still work with tour so
53:22 things like flash and Java that are well known to have
53:26 vulnerabilities um that just are gaping
53:30 that being that being said a lot of people that I know that try and set up
53:33 secure setups that aren't running Java or Flash and they're running a
53:37 combination of other things like there's there's you have to have a whole Suite
53:41 yeah and the thing is that most of the community that was using tour already uh
53:46 probably is doing that but we're talking about more mainstream people hearing
53:51 about T and kind of going oh but then I still want to watch my YouTube videos so
53:57 if you're unsure about all that kind of stuff um look it up there's guides on
54:01 how to like properly set up your browser if you want to be anonymous and it's
54:04 still you're still at a huge amount of risk but it's it's going to be a lot
54:08 better than just running tour so the tour network has not been cracked but
54:13 there are an increasing number of uh sites that are being hijacked do.ion
54:19 sites that are being hijacked by law enforcement agencies and recording
54:22 details of people that are visiting the sites and sending them to the NSA um so
54:28 there you go guys he
54:31 uh yeah so you're not safe anywhere I'm
54:35 beginning to think that my like technophobe sister might have been right
54:39 about all of this like she just she didn't even want a smartphone she
54:43 doesn't want a computer she just like no pen and paper I was when I was doing
54:48 research for that video that I'm working on right now I ran into something and I
54:52 started asking questions about it I was like I feel like a tin Hatter when I'm I'm asking a few of these questions but
54:56 then that's probably okay yeah because
55:00 of what's been happening lately that's probably entirely fine and I might not
55:04 even be that far off so I'm going to let you handle this are you sure yeah I kind
55:09 of want you to read through part of this no I don't really want to you don't want to read through this all right go uh so
55:14 Oculus Rift is being used to or the idea
55:17 of oculus rift is being used to give chickens a freerange style lifestyle so
55:22 they set up an Oculus Rift mix it in like a second life kind of idea and they
55:27 can make the chicken think that even though it's confined into a coupe it actually has a free range roaming
55:36 identity really VR for chickens like really what do you think
55:42 about this I think that as Concepts go
55:45 it seems more like a publicity stunt for VR in general and less of a uh practical
55:51 thing I mean we are so many bajillion
55:55 years away from a product like Oculus being able to
56:00 be miniaturized and costed down enough to put them on chickens I mean the it's
56:08 stupid I want chickens to have good lives but I don't think VR is the
56:14 solution well there's two things one I don't think it's actually going to give
56:17 you the benefits of free range because they're still confined to the thing and
56:20 a lot of free range stuff is the fact that they can run around all that kind of stuff and two I'm not real oh is this
56:27 fake yeah okay the whole point of the article was to see how many people they
56:31 can convince okay so I thought you had maybe seen that but I don't think so
56:35 anymore but everyone watching I bet a
56:38 lot of people actually kind of thought that that was legit and you know what it
56:44 maybe could be but I I read quite a few places that it's not so like yeah but
56:50 that's bad and the fact that that sounds super realistic is really bad
56:56 because imagine how many people you could sell free range chickens
57:03 to next they're just going to like strap a TV to the front of the cage and be
57:07 like yeah free range free has like a field on
57:11 it they can see the field which makes them think they're in the
57:15 field done all right so I actually kind
57:19 of well when we were supposed to have JJ on here I kind of realized we have like
57:24 barely talked about Intel's new z97 and h97 chipsets like at all so as usual Z
57:31 versus h means that Z is overclockable and H is uh not so much uh the N9 series
57:37 chipsets offer increased data transfer speeds for storage drives now supporting
57:41 the m.2 specification allowing them to drive two PCIe 2.0 Lanes to the m.2
57:47 drive giving it a total of about 1 GB per second of bandwidth compared to
57:51 about 600 megabytes per second of bandwidth available over SATA 3 um okay
57:58 the same connectivity options are basically there so 14 USB ports six of
58:02 which can be usb3 up to six SATA 3 six G
58:05 or six GB per 6 GB per second ports an
58:08 integrated gigabit Ethernet controller 8 PCIe 2.0 Lanes I believe that's all off
58:13 of the chipset because you have 16 Lanes off of the CPU something along those
58:17 lines they have upgraded smart response technology SRT so they're supporting
58:22 hybrid hard drives with integrated flash storage so pre viously the feature
58:25 required separate hard drives and ssds on separate connectors so I think
58:30 there's one drive to which that's applicable the uh WD black squared yeah
58:35 um okay Broadwell so new CPUs like
58:38 legitimate new CPUs are not coming until sometime next year probably about a year
58:43 from now and those will bring a 30% increase in power efficiency and z97 at
58:47 least some of the boards are advertising that they will have support for
58:51 Broadwell in the meantime we get Haswell refresh as well as Devil's Canyon so
58:56 Intel has improved the thermal interface material on the CPUs so that they're
59:00 going to run cooler and the word on the street is that z97 boards even before we
59:05 put overclockable has well refresh processors on them are overclocking a
59:08 little better and have the CPUs running cooler and I think that is pretty much
59:13 it except uh we were supposed to have we were supposed to have JJ on to talk
59:17 about this stuff he's an extremely busy man I know no well it's it's true he's
59:21 like super crazy oh oh whoa hey there we go oh just oh
59:25 oh oh just got back to the office out of the office due to an emergency it took
59:29 longer at the event location just got back into the office okay well maybe
59:32 we'll have him join us I think we've only got about 10 15 more minutes left on the show so guys uh you know maybe
59:38 what we'll do is we'll have JJ on next week I can't I can't say 100% because
59:42 it'll depend on his scheduling but I know you guys will probably want to hear from him about um what ASUS has done
59:48 that's amazing uh in the last little while that is what you will hear that is
59:51 what you will hear I mean he's uh he's so knowledge eligible so you know I look
59:55 forward to having him on the show I wish he'd been able to make it this week but there you go while you get that loaded
60:00 up I have to call out a tweet some guy tweeted me I bet you could get two packs
60:03 of M&M's for 50 cents yeah no no no no
60:09 no no that was pretty good he didn't fit Jay-Z in though so I don't know he can
60:14 have three points three points not 10 points yeah all right posted on the
60:18 Forum by Alex Goes High LG G3 press
60:22 renders leaked she look pretty and then
60:25 the completely impartial and unbiased headline says best looking phone of the
60:31 year so here we go Phone Arena was the
60:34 original uh poster I like the new design of the volume up down and power buttons
60:40 so that's back here yeah because um the
60:43 one thing I didn't like about the power button before was it was a strip right
60:47 which wasn't it was it was fine like it wasn't a big deal I didn't even bother
60:50 bring it up because it didn't matter that much but this does look nicer so I
60:56 we'll go through these renders like okay so there's a thing there and there's
60:59 some stuff uhhuh it reminds you a lot of that doesn't it yeah and why is everyone
61:04 doing gold phones please stop like can you can everyone please stop following
61:09 Apple like what makes Apple a leader the fact that everyone follows
61:16 them like and it's and it's a stupid idea I'm not being an apple Fanboy by
61:20 calling them a leader I think the idea was bad I think the idea was bad and the
61:25 people following it should feel bad that's all I'm trying to say gold
61:28 motherboards like just stop it gold is
61:31 Gody yeah I'm sorry people with class wear white gold
61:37 gold is awesome Al like everyone but a
61:40 metal I'm sorry gold is awesome when it comes in like a metal yeah like if I had
61:45 like a if I had like a if I had like a gold brick or like yeah something I I
61:50 can't think of too many other things I would like to actually be yellow gold
61:53 like some sort of booly or a medal or a trophy yeah all of that's super cool
61:58 yeah trophies should be gold yeah I'll settle for brass I've never want a
62:02 trophy in my life so I'd settle for any trophy really but you know what I I
62:06 don't know that I agree with the best phone of the Year thing because not
62:09 because this looks better but because it looks like the same damn thing like it
62:14 actually just doesn't really look any different to me I I don't I don't see
62:18 the difference and maybe I'm just not picky enough but like brushed metal back
62:24 back um I like how it looks but you're
62:27 not wrong it looks pretty much the same and and I would if everything else is
62:32 equal if they're the same price and they basically look the same front-facing
62:35 speakers man it is such a big deal and it is so disappointing that was one of
62:39 my complaints about the G3 is if I held it in the right particular way sorry G2
62:44 G2 sorry yeah yeah if I held it in the right or wrong way it would cover up the
62:48 speakers and essentially manually mute the phone yeah because I would be
62:52 covering up the speakers I couldn't hear it anymore it was kind of an yeah and another ergonomic thing that
62:57 people might not necessarily agree with me about but is that I don't like bottom
63:00 mounted headphone Jacks anymore I complained about this in my 1 and8
63:04 review but I actually didn't properly explain what I don't like about it like
63:08 I said thing right sorry is it the car thing car thing cuz you put your phone
63:13 in oh that's another reason but no that was I don't like it because of cars
63:17 because if you plug your stuff in the bottom and then you try and put it in a cup holder oh that's another good point
63:21 okay no I was talking about what's more natural for me put it in my pocket so
63:25 that I'm not putting strain on the connector um and so and not just that
63:30 but that that cuz that you could train yourself one way or the other but I like to have it right side up in my pocket so
63:35 I can pull it out of my pocket and glance at it okay and then the other
63:38 thing that I didn't explain very well is that if you have something plugged into
63:42 the bottom of the phone and you're using it right side up it's kind of in your
63:45 way and not so much on the 1 M8 if you're right-handed because it's it
63:50 could kind of come down here but using the iPhone 5S something I forgot to incl
63:54 includ in my review um where it's on the left it sits right under my pinky so
64:00 when I'm typing it's like right in the way um especially if you have a right
64:04 angle connector on your headphones just like I do yeah which isn't that uncommon
64:09 both of these have it y actually yep uh
64:12 Sony's CEO and executives are taking a 50% pay cut with no bonuses um they've
64:19 lost money four out of The Last 5 Years this was posted on the Forum by top war
64:23 Gam the original article is from IGN and
64:27 I I yeah you know what top war gamer I think you nailed it I'm surprised it
64:31 took you this long to do it it's almost like a a knee-jerk reaction to oh well
64:36 Nintendo's doing this yeah therefore maybe that's the honorable thing to
64:40 do okay I mean I don't
64:45 understand why an executive gets a bonus
64:49 if the company isn't hugely profitable the my my favorite ones and read
64:55 hate massively is when the company is like failing and going bankrupt and
65:00 they're like massive exiting bonus yeah it's like uh no that shouldn't be
65:06 legal I I really I really wish that uh
65:10 this mobile site yeah I wish this wasn't the mobile site but aside from that I
65:14 mean I I I don't know I don't know how you can ever enforce something like that
65:18 because it all just becomes like you know a just like Buddy Club where it's
65:23 like yeah let's all make lots of money that sounds great yeah I think that's a
65:27 great idea too bonus for you bonus for you bonuses for everyone but I I just
65:33 think it's wrong I just think it is so wrong that when you are not making money
65:39 I okay it's one thing to I mean okay
65:42 I'll I'll use you know the business terms to streamline your
65:46 Workforce and you know be profitable and
65:49 make money because you cut a bunch of jobs no one likes that but I kind of get
65:55 it the company's profitable you're still you're maintaining your sales Target
65:59 you're doing the company things that you need to do which is to make money it's
66:04 another thing when you are cutting jobs
66:07 or not cutting job or okay it's I guess it's better if you're not cutting jobs
66:11 and okay no hold on if you are we'll get there we'll get there yeah
66:17 yeah so right so if you're making money that's one thing if you're you know
66:20 cutting jobs or even not cutting jobs and you're not making money you shouldn't be getting a bonus because a
66:25 bonus should be tied to Performance and if the company's not making money then
66:29 the leadership is not performing because leadership is responsible for everyone
66:34 like if he does something stupid ultimately who gets a cease and desist
66:40 or who gets a complaint it will be me
66:43 because I'm responsible for him so if he does something great then I should get a
66:48 bonus but if he does something crappy then I'm the one who has to deal with it
66:52 because ultimately I'm responsible for what he does and that's how leadership
66:55 works that's what taking responsibility for things is supposed to look like and
67:00 so I don't understand why it took so long and I'm frustrated that that's a
67:04 thing and I guess I'm not really going anywhere with this now but the point is
67:08 thank you guys for tuning in to the W show I hope you guys enjoyed it as much
67:12 as we did I'm surprised there's so many people watching it's the weather's
67:15 beautiful here maybe the weather sucks there in which case I'm sorry to hear
67:18 that but uh I think also bunch of finals ending this week there's still some more
67:23 coming a little bit later if you guys are have finals later than this I'm
67:28 sorry holy crap that sucks um but yeah
67:31 thank you everybody for tuning in that was awesome all right peace out
67:34 guys someone will get
67:52 it
