0:00 okay so this is cool our buds over at cable mod you know these guys that make
0:04 fancy cables they just launched builds.gg which they're gonna kill me
0:09 for putting it this way but it's basically pinterest for gaming rigs so
0:14 if so you build a gaming rig you submit it
0:18 and then people can get inspiration they can see what parts you use they can see
0:22 what like mods you apply to it or whatever the case may be and you can
0:25 also go there if you want to find like the coolest rad stuff for your build
0:31 anyway to celebrate the announcement they are sponsoring this video where
0:35 alex and i are going to be building our submission to builds.gg and they're
0:41 launching a contest which obviously we're going to be winning where they're
0:45 giving away 10 000 us dollars in prizes
0:49 for the sickest builds so check that out but not before you check
0:54 this build out
1:06 oh those have we told them what we're doing yet
1:10 um we're building an awesome system for
1:14 for build.gg okay all right
1:19 so we have this Corsair cx600 um be a bit careful because
1:24 these are just wires why are these just bare
1:28 it says in the thing scrapyard wars is the reason so water cooling next i mean
1:32 we have water cooling right yeah so i have this swiftech radiator um
1:37 i really like the bit um where is it yeah the marine epoxy that's in here
1:42 from that time that you drilled into it
1:45 fun bit of trivia for our viewers radiators used to be designed with the
1:50 water tubes directly under the screw holes so it was a fairly easy mistake to
1:56 make if you accidentally over tightened something a little i've heard the washer
1:59 aesthetic is like really in because the more washers you have the cleaner your
2:03 build okay get it
2:12 so what tubing do you think we should use i was thinking we need quick connects anyway so
2:17 the white could just run to the quick connects and then we could change it to
2:20 blue and red you know what though there's a compelling practical reason
2:24 for putting in some clear tubing that way we can make sure the water's in
2:27 there oh true yeah and we need to make sure that it doesn't cancel my old coils
2:31 yeah those are really important so basically the way it works is you just
2:34 kind of put it on there kind of like that
2:38 and then
2:41 it's like instant performance increase for your
2:45 tubing kink free oh this right here goes on the front oh
2:53 our build we're gonna have to go in from behind
2:57 actually i think that you can just take this whole radiator bit out yeah and just move it
3:02 right to here
3:05 bam does that fit because if we could get even more cooling that would be
3:09 great we could just double sided tape it oh yeah that could totally work so for
3:13 this build we're going to be using the rog maximus x formula it's a z370 board
3:18 and it's actually freaking sweet so
3:22 really don't make a mess
3:29 so we've got water cooling for the vrm that's built right into the motherboard
3:32 it's awesome but my only concern is that
3:36 these vrms put out a lot of heat yeah so we probably shouldn't combine the CPU
3:42 and the vrms on the same radiator
3:46 hmm so what i'm thinking is there's this cooler master gemini or
3:51 gemin 2 s424 yeah which i think could look
3:56 really good in this case how does this go on uh yeah it goes over
4:01 the RAM so that you get the additional benefits of cooling the RAM that's
4:04 something you won't get with normal water cooling so we're going to go with the tridenzi royals they're
4:10 definitely the blingiest RAM on the market at the moment like look at that
4:14 like can you just see me so the most important thing
4:19 before you put on your CPU cooler is to make sure that you get the correct
4:24 amount of thermal paste oh that's gonna make a mess don't do
4:28 that don't do that it's gonna take like 10-15
4:33 minutes to clean that up oh my god it's a dick
4:40 up and to the left just a touch
4:43 so we have the zotac mini 1080 that uh
4:47 it got a bit chopped up so yeah yeah in the case yeah i remember that um
4:51 did we shave down the top of it too yeah it looks like that we did
4:54 this is gonna look great oh yeah
4:57 straight from unloved zero
5:01 to epic hero
5:06 by not cutting off the end of this zip tie i can actually keep it for use later
5:11 on down the line because all you need to do
5:14 is stick a little pin or something in there and you can bend that little
5:18 plastic tab down and then you can actually extract this and completely
5:22 reuse it for any length of project so i'm just going to fold this up under the
5:26 card kind of like that nice
5:29 and what's really cool is that we actually get some additional cooling for
5:33 the rest of the system out of this configuration so we're going to put the
5:36 GPU in the vertical mount right here and that gives us some direct cooling
5:41 for our chipset which is located right here on the motherboard so i guess one
5:44 thing that we haven't thought of yet is where is our pump and reservoir going to
5:48 go no you know what it actually looks like what there are o-rings in here
5:52 that's o-rings not threading oh so this is to be straight piped into in fact i
5:57 love it so since that's just the reservoir we also need a pump
6:01 so i was thinking that this one right here from active aqua which conveniently
6:05 has its own power supply you could just put it in here it has suction cups on
6:09 the bottom to uh that's great and then we could just have
6:12 it have its own power cord yeah that goes on the computer uh here can you
6:16 help me cable manage this first though um sure see that
6:20 that actually goes right back too if we just put a screw in there it's not the
6:24 right one but uh it should work yeah no one's gonna notice we do not have the
6:28 correct size fittings at all oh really yeah
6:32 we could just not do that yeah i think we're going to have to not do the pump
6:36 so i found another pump res combo oh great
6:40 i'm just not sure where to put it it's like kind of too long to go up in here
6:43 like the last one yeah like it fits but it's not going to be great
6:48 um it could go sort of
6:53 right there
6:56 but it might be kind of messy yeah i don't really like that look
7:01 i'm just really disappointed that we're not going to get to use this res anymore
7:04 can we use this one too and just put it up in the top
7:07 sure cool yeah i mean two resins is fine well
7:10 and it makes a lot of sense because you want to have the water nice and high
7:13 yeah so then we can just loop it here up
7:17 there yeah i found that when i was strapping on my
7:20 second fan here which i really want for optimal cooling that i was accidentally
7:25 covering my pci express power connector here but get this i can actually
7:30 repurpose my fan strap here
7:34 as like cable management to hold it in
7:40 that is using the old noggin
7:43 now our power supply isn't modular
7:48 so we can't actually replace the 24 pin cable but
7:51 we can get what i think is really basically the cable mod
7:55 experience with one of these extensions so we're just going to run this down
8:00 keeping the cable nice and taut as we go
8:03 and then we're going to run it back up and you can see
8:06 that with the really vibrant green and black color scheme on our extension
8:10 cable the regular one just kind of fades into
8:13 the background and you barely see it at all okay so i found some fan splitters
8:17 and fan extensions so that's how we're gonna get power to our front fans over
8:21 here and then i also found this single SATA to quad SATA power
8:26 adapter oh nice yeah so that way with just this one SATA power plug
8:31 we can power up to four SATA devices
8:35 high amperage check this out there's even a high amperage header on this
8:38 motherboard it's like it was designed for me to plug three fans into it now
8:42 what i noticed is that
8:45 those leads that i taped up
8:48 what we could do is we could splice on a molex connector oh use that to power the
8:53 pump or do you think that we can just run this over to that and just solder it
8:57 right on i mean i still want them to be detachable though so i'm not going to
9:01 solder them i'm just going to twist them together and use electrical tape oh okay
9:04 okay this is like the perfect situation where you'll want to use these anti-kink
9:09 what do you even call them just anti-kinkers yeah tube coils tube coils
9:13 okay yep and as you can see i've gotten a bit
9:16 artistic with it and kind of made a little
9:20 pattern here and then we're able to just come in here like this would be horrible
9:25 if we did not have these on but now we do not have to worry at all
9:30 about potential kinkage and those vrm's just hitting
9:34 5000 degrees i mean that should be fine yeah so you
9:38 go in there with that and then we bring another tube out of there into the vrm
9:43 cooler and then we're good we've completed the loop
9:47 just make sure you leave enough slack in the lines that actually has a double
9:51 benefit so one allows us to pull that out and fill it and then put it back in
9:55 and two that means we can repurpose the soft
9:58 tubing for a future build if we have a run that's slightly longer ah yes so i
10:02 really want to use white to go down to the vrms but we only have this little
10:06 scrap of tubing fortunately check this out
10:10 this quick connect from colder not only matches our red white and blue
10:15 color scheme it can act as a coupler so then we can
10:19 actually take check this out this piece of red tubing then
10:24 and extend it that is perfect three two a one
10:32 dang so one of our Corsair fans isn't connected but the pump does work
10:37 i think you might just have to power cycle real quick here
10:41 i thought it's hey nice okay so now we just need to uh i
10:46 think we need to plug plug it into a monitor and stuff get these fan headers turned on and all yeah
10:51 we've got all these cables for the light strips which looks
10:55 not all that great you can't have all of those cables there so i'm going to use
10:58 this cable mod aio sleeving
11:02 to just get it all nice and tucked away so we
11:05 don't have to worry too much about it oh i can smell it
11:09 we are so close so at the back we've got a matching
11:13 power and HDMI cable and then we've got other colors
11:18 hey it posted nice i mean we knew that was gonna
11:21 happen yeah because it didn't post and then we fixed it don't don't put that in i love the
11:26 way she moves
11:54 rides we be sitting here chilling in the woods on the campfire
11:59 take that boat out to that water for that fish fry i'll be swimming with some
12:03 gangers drinking mudslide if you get it how i get it then you living life i know
12:08 they hate the way i get it cause i'm some flying i can go and throw them
12:11 hundreds like emojis and go and chill with your girl while she coach me i'm
12:16 that dude i'm that dude
12:21 we've got quite the puddle here we might need to swap it out every
12:25 like hour or two of use but yeah that's fine think of it like oil changes for
12:29 your car okay but instead of oil changes just filling up the oil
12:34 that leaks out the bottom which i mean that's the thing yeah people do deal
12:37 with with their cars oh yes we've got a full bench drive
12:42 ready to rock here i want let's see this thing haul um
12:49 there's artifacting our GPU is dead
12:58 i don't think it's dead
13:02 speaking of dead this meme so uh thanks for watching our video creating um out
13:08 of parts we legitimately already had which is sort of terrible
13:13 the world's ugliest gaming rig
13:17 sponsored by cablemod so guys i'm going
13:20 to give you the full details for the builds gg giveaway you guys are going to
13:24 have to do a little better than this by the way so method one of winning is
13:29 they're providing ten thousand dollars in prize money five thousand to first
13:32 place three to second and two to third and the top three builds that receive
13:37 most of the votes during the contest will win that method number two
13:41 is not everyone has an awesome rig but they want to make sure everyone has a chance to win so depending on how many
13:46 people participate cablemod will provide another additional ten thousand dollars
13:50 of prize money so if there's a thousand entrants they'll do two one hundred
13:54 dollar prizes and if there's up to fifty thousand entrants they'll do two fifteen
13:59 hundred dollar prizes and then there's a whole bunch of stages in between a total
14:03 of up to another ten thousand seven hundred dollars method number three is
14:07 for users that have no build to share but want to join the competition by
14:10 voting for builds for those people there will be hardware prizes from brands like
14:14 ASUS noble chairs performance pcs cablemod and others so head to the link
14:19 in the video description for your chance to win or to submit your build or to
14:23 vote on builds by the way we do fully intend to submit this build so feel free
14:27 to vote for us so thanks for watching guys if you
14:31 disliked this video you can hit that button but if you liked it hit like get subscribed or maybe consider checking
14:36 out where to buy the stuff we featured at the link in the video description
14:39 also down there is our merch store which has cool shirts like this one and our
14:43 community forum which you should totally join
14:49 thanks alex really uh really getting your priorities
14:54 in line there we go thank you
