gaming promo.com this will be the saddest of
0:22
all of the personal rig updates um so
0:25
before we go any further I finally got
0:28
it pretty much done there's still a couple small things I haven't finished
0:32
bleeding out the loop and uh yeah mostly that we're we're pretty
0:37
much there I need to reformat my OS and stuff like that because this is like a
0:41
year outdated at this point I haven't used it in a really long time um so I I
0:46
actually had my 30-in monitor here in the room while I was working on the rig
0:50
I don't remember why it was down here I don't remember why it was down here
0:53
where oh we were probably running benchmarks on it yeah we were running benchmarks on it so it was down here in
0:58
this room and it was just kind of here and and Rumble really wanted some
1:01
attention and he was you know just kind of being a brat rubbing up against
1:05
everything jumping up and everything he jumped up on my 30in
1:10
monitor and uh it fell right here and
1:15
swacked this thing now when it was powered
1:19
off it still looked absolutely perfect
1:23
so right in the center there where it got hit there's not a single mark But I
1:27
powered it on to test whether my r worked and I was greeted by
1:32
this so my Samsung 305t plus my 2560
1:37
x600 monitor that I actually just recently tested and found out will work
1:42
at 75 Herz with a supported NVIDIA graphics card and I was really excited
1:46
to try that out is
1:49
dead um so I have to figure out my monitor situation sometime over the next
1:54
little bit here I'm going to check with uh Paul from from New Egg TV and see how
1:58
he likes that yamama Kazi leonitis that he got see if he likes it and we'll go
2:04
from there anyway I might as well show you guys my horrendous okay this is
2:07
probably the worst Cable Management you've ever seen um I decided by the
2:12
time I was getting to the close to the end of the build I was like you know what forget it I'm not going to put
2:16
quite the same sort of care and attention to detail into the cable
2:20
management as I originally intended so things got a little crazy all up in here
2:25
so the things that I'm still going to do you can see this just runs off to
2:29
nowhere this is the USB connector for the T balancer which is my smart fan
2:35
speed controller so this I only have to plug into program it so I'm just going
2:38
to leave it here and then I can plug it in to program it and then just take it
2:41
out and leave it back here um this is for the
2:45
UV there we go the UV cathode that's in the uh T Virus it's okay you don't have
2:50
to see the inside they don't get to see that yet I'm going to do a final update
2:53
when it's like done done um also because
2:57
I didn't have as much room with my cable manager holes as I had hoped because a
3:01
lot of it got taken up by these SATA connectors which I was planning
3:06
originally to hide sort of down here but it didn't really end up working that way
3:11
so instead they come through here they're managed back here and then they
3:15
go into all these drives because I took up a lot of my cable management room I
3:19
was only able to run a couple power connectors up here so I think I only
3:24
have a single 3 MOX connector coming up
3:27
here and it's powering everything so so I had to Fashion myself some random
3:32
adapters so this is like a MOX to uh
3:36
left angle SATA and Molex and then I
3:39
used some of the phobia quad SATA Splitters to uh to Molex um to power all
3:46
eight of the f-120 sand Force drives
3:49
that are running off the LSI controller inside uh normally I'm pretty good about
3:54
oh yeah and the same thing like running all of the fans so there's two fans in
3:57
the front four in the bottom two in the top two at at the back and they all have
4:01
to somehow plug into four fan connectors on the te balancer which this is the
4:04
only really reasonable place to hide it so that ended up being a bit of a
4:08
nightmare as well and I could fashion custom cables but I just got to the
4:11
point where I was tired and I wanted to have a gaming rig again um normally I'm
4:15
really good about this um and I end up
4:18
with a loop that's very easy to bleed but my Loop
4:21
is as you may or may not be able to hear got quite a few air bubbles in it so I'm
4:25
going to have to play around with the angles of the case a little bit and get
4:28
that bled out so this barely closes guys like barely closes and I can barely get
4:33
the side panel back off so once it's done and it's closed I want it to pretty
4:37
much be done uh one of the other things that was a real nightmare to get done
4:41
was uh getting this 38 tubing over the D5 pump as well as the halfin barbs that
4:46
I have on my thermal chill rat I also still have to add some zip ties I mean I
4:50
don't think these are going to leak look how stretched they are but it's always you know better safe than sorry for
4:54
stuff like that all the not quite individually but two cables per sleeve
4:59
cables go here and I want to I want to tie them up a little bit just get them
5:03
into bunches somewhat because you can see them through the mid plate on the
5:06
other side I didn't get a custom mid plate so um that's the last thing that I
5:11
want to change on the back um it's going to be really quiet once I get it sort of
5:16
dialed in with the tea balancer but uh
5:20
there you go so we're close and there's my there's my horrendous Cable
5:24
Management you guys are going to be surprised at how tidy the other side
5:27
looks when you see how awful it looks in the back here but I've never really I've
5:32
never been really been one of those guys who puts a lot of attention and detail
5:35
into the stuff that no one's ever going to see even though I feel like I
5:39
probably should especially with some of the awesome build logs that are going on
5:42
in the lineus tech tips Forum uh you guys are you guys are making me feel bad
5:46
about taking a year to finish this monstrosity but anyway I pretty much
5:51
have a gaming rig again except I no longer have a monitor and that's my
5:54
personal rig update and and as always don't forget to subscribe to L this Tech
