0:08 now if you go on the Patriot website they have a lot of different series of
0:12 RAM tons and tons of different series have G2 and sector and Sector 5 and
0:18 sector 7 and different numbers they have all these different kinds of rams and
0:21 Vipers and Gamers and why that is the
0:25 question that is the question I'm asking and that is the question that I'm also
0:29 going to answer the reason is that their different
0:32 series of RAM are optimized for different platforms so right here I have
0:36 the Patriot memory G2 series now this is kind of a sort of a value performance
0:41 memory so you don't have you know super fancy heat spreaders you don't have that
0:45 kind of stuff going on but what you do have is decent spec okay in this case
0:50 this is a PC3 uh sorry PC3
0:54 1280 but the DDR3 1600 MHz so this is a
0:59 dual Channel kit and it is designed for the Intel 6 series platform so that is
1:03 another thing that you get by going with an optimized kit so this is optimized
1:07 for the 6 series platform that means you can use it with p-55 just like you can
1:11 use their p55 optimized memory with a p67 board or with a z68 board but you
1:17 might not get the same level of compatibility that you do if you use the
1:22 correct RAM with the correct platform so inside we find another retail package
1:27 look at this this has a hanger on it how is the retail
1:30 supposed to know that there's a hanger
1:34 inside fascinating you know what's cool about Patriot actually I was on a trip
1:38 down into California um a couple weeks
1:41 ago and I got to see the Patriot facility in in California and they have
1:48 actual smt machines in their office
1:52 where they were producing memory dims right there in the USA go figure right I
1:58 had no idea they're actually one of the few memory manufacturers so they don't
2:03 manufacture the chips that are under the spreader so they're not a Samsung or or
2:08 a micron but they do actually
2:11 manufacture modules in the United States
2:14 still they have more manufacturing facilities overseas but it was pretty
2:18 cool you got to like like it was just open and there's like a like a line that
2:24 goes along and then it goes puts all the components on it and then it goes
2:27 through the oven you can actually just like stand there and watch it very very cool anyway this is the G2 Series so
2:33 right here you see we've got a fairly standard Fair heat spreader on there all
2:37 right this is a DDR3 memory module it is dual Channel as I mentioned before in
2:41 terms of latencies these are not too super aggressive by any stretch so 1600
2:46 MHz 99920 run at 1.65 volts so these
2:51 aren't a super low voltage kit either but they are definitely suitable for
2:55 Intel core I3 Core i5 and core i7
2:58 processors on LG 1155 so that is your
3:01 h61 h67 p67 and z68 motherboards thank
3:07 you for checking out my unboxing of the Patriot G2 series don't forget to
3:10 subscribe to L techtips and also please note that it comes with an installation
3:13 guide check that out
