0:00 be proud about it man what is this what
0:03 wait what okay wait this is this is this
0:08 is Donal
0:13 poeland this is the whole room water cooling
0:19 project this is crazy why
0:25 not typical lest Media Group Style
0:30 with the original plan powering the fans on the radiators was actually going to
0:34 be pretty straightforward because they were going to be relatively close to the
0:38 window opening but with the new plan putting them down on a little roof
0:42 overhang getting power to them was actually going to be a bit of a
0:45 challenge so I came up with an idea we were going to use part of the original
0:49 plan which was swifttech eight Port uh fan Splitters and then we were going to
0:54 use one of those handy little wall power to four pin Molex connectors and and
1:00 mount it down there in a way that it would be safe from the weather and then silicone over all the connections and
1:04 all that so that they don't corrode so we needed a new plan and I came up with
1:08 something that I thought was going to work we actually had one of those um
1:12 like wall power to to 2 amp 12vt power supplies and I was like okay well it
1:16 wasn't until the next morning that I grabbed that adapter and realized it's
1:19 only 2 amps I wonder if that's even going to be enough to power all the fans
1:24 so I ran inside checked the spec on the box for the fans and realized that each
1:30 fan is1 amps that means that with 20
1:33 fans on five quadruple radiators we need
1:36 exactly two amps going through our Splitters and out to the fans so my
1:41 bacon got saved there it's just barely
1:51 enough all right Luke's dad was here till 4:00 a.m.
1:56 getting all the copper piping installed we got the radiator Mount finished the
2:01 night before uh all the systems are pretty much built they just need some
2:04 more quick disconnects so this is the day that it all has to come together
2:09 because Nick Luke and Brandon are all leaving at the end of the work dat like
2:13 there's no stay late and they're going to PA to do show coverage there so
2:18 coming into the office in the morning we set out some goals okay we want to have
2:22 the radiator on the roof by noon um we want to have the room cleaned up and the
2:27 desks rearranged we need to run
2:30 water through the copper piping and get the soldering flux out of there and uh
2:35 we need to have all the systems tubing connected by the end of the day ready to
2:40 show it off I guess so one of my
2:43 interview questions were how do you feel about going up on the roof which I
2:46 didn't know I was doing so I don't know as far as I had
2:52 understood considering it's on the fascia boards we were putting a ladder
2:56 against the side of the house and I wasn't the one doing it those two things
3:01 were pretty key even we could even take the screen out of the window and
3:04 probably just lean out and do it that way but apparently we're going on the
3:08 roof so hopefully I'm able to check in
3:11 in a little while from now considering I'll be hanging off the side of a roof
3:15 trying to install a radiator on a facial board which makes no sense I have no
3:21 idea where the idea that Luke was going on the roof came from he wouldn't even
3:25 be able to install the radiators from there that's just stupid we're going to
3:30 use a ladder from the ground I found out
3:33 about this same time as everyone else did oh
3:39 neat I have a wood holder not really what it's for totally
3:45 legit now watch your head terrifying
3:48 that is extremely terrifying maybe the water draining
3:54 we'll make it slightly lighter the
3:57 radiator assembly ended up being incred heavy and there wasn't much we could do
4:02 in terms of pre-installation because we hadn't
4:06 actually been up there yet before we cut all of the wood and figured out how we
4:10 were going to mount it so I had to go up the ladder first with building materials
4:15 like you know drill and 2x4s find somewhere to put those which ended up
4:19 being like a little lip for uh for rainwater being redirected and then I
4:25 had to carry that entire radiator setup
4:28 up the ladder which was extremely difficult I was actually on the top of
4:33 the ladder thinking that I was stuck for quite a while because both of my hands
4:38 were on the radiator and I didn't have enough leverage to bring it up onto the
4:42 roof without putting too much strain on the ladder so that it would move to the
4:46 side and it was only by having someone hold the ladder really securely at the
4:50 bottom and creeping my hand out that I was able to bring it up onto the roof
4:54 because it was enough on there that for
4:58 me to bring it down would have been a huge momentum swing this way and for me to bring it up would
5:03 have moved the ladder so it was uh it was pretty scary getting it up there but
5:08 once it was there I was actually able to rest it on the roof and aside from
5:13 needing someone to hand me tools from the window above cuz I I could I had
5:17 nowhere to store everything um it was pretty straightforward from there you
5:22 need boards huh okay
5:34 the next step is
5:37 to secure this to
5:48 that oh my battery is uh is no
5:53 bueno let's find out if my eyeballing worked
6:03 oh yes it did we sent David for lumber um and then
6:11 I don't remember whose suggestion it was but we realized that having it mounted
6:15 out there insects could potentially be a
6:18 huge problem so we uh we sent him to go get some mesh that we could glue onto
6:24 the intake on the radiator so that we could hopefully keep bugs out of it now
6:28 I in my wisdom thinking that we had an entire roll of this mesh used the mesh
6:33 that I had already cut to size to wipe off this extremely goopy adhesive not
6:37 realizing that a that was all the mesh we had and B Home Depot was out of stock
6:42 that was the last one that they had so when we sent David back to the store to
6:46 buy more mesh they didn't even have any that was an appropriate size and they're
6:50 out of stock for 2 weeks so I'm just going to drill here I was
6:54 like you want a stud finder he's like no no one would put a plank up there I was
6:57 like okay where he go oh my
7:01 God I would uh I would be upset except
7:05 that it's exactly the same decision but I made exactly the same number of
7:15 times is the pump powerful enough I
7:19 don't know you tell
7:22 me so not so sure at this point me
7:25 neither I'm try to sound sure I know
7:31 is it on full is there any settings I no
7:35 it's full always
7:40 full super nasty that is um not a bad
7:45 flu rate we're getting a yeah we were getting a lot of bubbles we're still
7:48 getting a lot of bubbles I guess that's what happens when
7:51 you have that
7:57 much this one
8:01 swifttech was a great choice for us for this project because they have some of
8:05 the parts that we need that are pretty unique so they have all of the quick
8:09 disconnect fittings that we need very high quality they have the compression
8:13 fittings we need they have the water blocks that we need they've got their
8:17 latest Apple gxl they also have their kodo NV Le which is what we're using to
8:22 liquid cool all the Titans and finally
8:25 and this is really important they have their radiator Reservoir combo unit that
8:29 we're using using to avoid installing one additional component a reservoir
8:34 inside each of the systems so that will allow us to detach the systems from the
8:39 whole room liquid cooling Loop and then run them on their own either if for some
8:43 reason we need to do maintenance on the loop or if in the winter instead of
8:47 removing the heat from the room we want to kick the heat from the systems into
8:51 the room to actually warm it up a little I'm going to put it on top of
8:58 here how many cut do we need 10 and then this is going to
9:02 go straight up I'll cut it at some point
9:06 clamp it to the wall and then if there's an overflow it'll go up here and
9:09 everything will be okay instead of it flowing
9:23 out you have to put it on then press it
9:27 oh calibrates there okay
9:34 I have literally always guessed that that look from
9:38 lus it's okay I had to hang a painting of his sweating for his wife live that
9:43 down
9:50 lus the longest one
10:06 uh well it needs to cycle a bit I
10:12 think huh
10:15 yeah who there it goes what are you
10:19 leaving no no water is just uh like it it's going now did you just turn the
10:24 pump off no pump is still on for sure
10:30 okay good give it some more
10:35 water more
10:38 water be ready again okay okay
10:51 okay judging by how fast it goes out of that fill tube like it's pushing
11:00 okay uh are we do we need to top up the uh the tube one more time like can I
11:04 come down or what's up we can maybe give it a really short shot okay water okay
11:11 stop okay down I
11:15 come are you just power cycling yeah can
11:19 I see so I mean like it's it's pushing
11:23 water okay you just can't really tell with the
11:26 c one wait are we out of water uh in the
11:31 fill tube yeah but if you let
11:35 go I'm pretty sure there's still water in the
11:38 r okay what just happened that has
11:41 literally never happened
11:46 before I don't think water's making it all the way through yeah maybe not
12:01 it must have an air bubble stuck in it or something there's a ton of bubbles
12:05 like coming out yeah they stopped for a while now they're starting again there's
12:11 a lot of them DP over here there's a drip over here apparently there's a
12:15 where from the
12:20 copper really yeah where what part uh from the te
12:27 right by the door on the hot hot
12:34 side that be I'll be back in a
12:38 second oh it's dripping green too it's
12:41 the antifreeze oh need a
12:47 bucket the rest of it looks
12:50 okay where is
12:54 it hello it's right up there in that corner okay get the shirter something we
12:59 can't just leave it here where is the shirt in the in
13:27 there I take it up
13:35 I don't see any solder on that
13:41 one do you see me
13:48 no yeah I didn't see any
13:52 solder that was one of the last joints you did so that was at like 3:30 or
13:57 something probably
14:00 okay yes not fed um I'll I'll go up
14:09 there kind of feels like a movie yeah or
14:14 a documentary yeah one of those one off
14:20 in The Cooler Master nepon 240m features
14:23 an exclusive pump design and their new silencio fans to provide impressive near
14:28 silent performance click now to learn
14:50 more took too no wonder we crashed and you threw
14:56 all the parts away you left me searching I'm not over
