0:00 so today I'm going to be doing a quick unboxing of a product I got in the mail
0:04 these are a couple of NZXT fans and one
0:07 of them is a 120 mm and one of them is a 140 mm so the first thing I'm going to
0:12 do is the unboxing part fans are really easy to unbox you just open the
0:18 box yeah there we go yes excellent okay
0:22 so why don't we have a look at what's included as far as accessories go first
0:27 you have oh H they're one screw short on
0:30 this one you might say they're one screw short of a mounting system uh probably
0:34 just an innocent mistake but it should be four screws included for mounting and
0:39 then also one Molex to three pin fan
0:42 power adapter so let's just kind of okay
0:46 there you go so you plug in your Molex there and if you have a bunch of fans
0:49 then you can take more than one of these and you can daisy chain them together so
0:54 you just kind of plug this into here in
0:57 theory yeah there you go and then you can power two fans you can plug in more
1:00 fans okay so in terms of specs 120 mm
1:04 fans because they're smaller by a substantial margin than 140 mm fans need
1:09 to spin faster to move the same amount of air or you can move more air at the
1:14 same noise level because the 140 mm fan
1:17 can spin slower or spin the same speed and move more air either way okay
1:21 they're both nine blade rifle bearing fans so they're long lasting they have
1:25 sleev cables and this is something that NZXT has figured out that's so few other
1:30 companies do is that using a higher quality sleeving helps you can't see the
1:35 color of the cables at all and they use a nice long piece of heat shrink
1:39 everyone else seems averse to using more than like 2 cm of heat shrink because
1:43 apparently it costs a lot of money okay and then Here We Go the actual specs of
1:48 the fans I'm just going to let you read that on your own should you so desire
1:51 cameraman let me know when we're focused enough that they can pause it if they
1:55 feel like it and there's another one here there you go that's good enough
1:59 okay so why don't we just plug these fans in and then we can show you how
2:03 loud they are uh more than anything else I guess
2:06 we'll just be comparing the two fans against each other so I'm going to plug
2:10 this in so that I can uh plug in both
2:13 fans there we go so one here A camera
2:17 get close so that you can you can hear the difference between fan on and fan
2:21 off so you have to get really close to the
2:27 fan that's pretty quiet there's no way you're going to be able to hear that
2:32 okay and now let's try the next one I
2:35 suspect we're going to have a very similar experience given that they're
2:39 they're both rated for the same noise
2:46 level yep so these are both fairly slow Finning spinning fans but as long as
2:50 you've got uh a decent case that
2:53 shouldn't be a problem so anyway there you go that's my unboxing of the NZXT
2:58 performance fan series
