0:00 Linus tech tips coverage of computex 2013 is powered by western digital our
0:04 trusted gaming gear partner is Corsair vengeance and our trusted retail partner
0:08 is nci.com guys we're here at the bit
0:13 phenix booth where they have an unbelievable a number of two two more
0:19 than two unbelievable number of cases on display so this right here is the ronin
0:24 it's also got what is possibly one of the most cool things that they're
0:27 showing off this is an updated version of their fan controller so touchreen you
0:31 can change color you can adjust your led
0:34 brightness on the fans you can adjust your led brightness with alc strips you
0:38 can adjust your fan rpms but check this out there's actually an open source
0:42 software utility that lets you also do all that stuff in the Windows os itself
0:47 so you can change the color to whatever you want you can also go ahead and see
0:51 led brightness control main diol only that but che out case
0:57 from the it extremely clean so that's
1:01 because they've added like a stealth sort of cover here so even though it's got a
1:05 large window you don't have to stare at the side of your hard drive cages with
1:09 all the cables hanging out the back and i'm probably doing this wrong but thank
1:13 you i appreciate that so once you move that out you've got what looks like
1:17 otherwise a fairly standard interior full support for a 240 mm radiator in
1:21 the top and then you've got your five plus two looks like six hard drive cages
1:28 these top ones are removable so if you need to put in ridiculously long
1:31 graphics cards or anything like that you won't have any difficulty this guy right
1:35 here doesn't have a name but you can sort of see the prodigy heritage of it
1:39 there you go see this is totally totally preproduction sample so you can see that
1:44 that side i who knows if that even makes it to the final one but it has a really
1:48 classy looking chromed strip all along the top and the bottom it's got a very
1:53 very clean front so single five and quar in b again you see that prodigy heritage
1:57 here and then on the again with chr stp as well as
2:01 the ventilated side for
2:05 graphics card who knows when we're to see this what it's going to cost or what
2:09 the features will be nobody knows which
2:12 brings us up to the phenom m this one's quite a bit more finalized this is going
2:16 to be an itx case that is going to be very very clean looking optimized for
2:21 something like i don't know you know file server or just someone who wants a
2:24 much more much more clean looking computer it's got again soyas so you see
2:30 that same interior with the five drive cages as well as full support for long
2:34 graphics cards if you really wanted to go that route by removing the top drive
2:38 cages which brings us to the colossus m this is going to be an matx case so this
2:43 one right here is going to use well hold on a minute so this looks an awful lot
2:47 like that sort of that prodigy heritage as well matx case that's kind of
2:53 confusing what in the heck you' also got adjustable uh you've got adjustable leds
2:57 so go ahead and see if i can figure it out how to do this
3:00 hold on can't can't they working sort of
3:03 the disadvantage of there we go there's a blue led in the front there some
3:06 different brightness levels there might be different versions of the colors who
3:09 knows but that brings us to this guy right here so people have been saying
3:14 for fair fair while here well prodigy is
3:17 a pretty big for an itx case why don't you guys try and put an matx board in
3:21 there bit phoenix has pulled through and they have done exactly just that0 in the
3:26 top matatx inverted motherboard the back
3:30 of the case as well as what appears to be what is that a 230 mm cooling fan 200
3:35 mm oh yeah no 230 mm down in the btom
3:38 230 works this is a 200 thank you okay
3:41 we've also got a 120 mm cooling fan in the back 140 might end up being in the
3:47 back hard to say guys these cases are not finished yet and then that
3:51 mesh front that we've seen on the black prodigy already so here i'll just give
3:55 you guys another look at that SSD mounts on the back of the motherboard tray
3:59 gives ir op and actually 100 where hard drives
4:05 are go two hard drives on the bot of the case you can actually and i just dropped
4:10 something no idea what it was but thank you if you want to remove that magnetic
4:14 strip right there you can actually mount hard drives with antivrational rber
4:18 mounts down there on the bottom and one
4:21 more in the back of the pc
4:25 this no name arrived give how last
4:30 minute it was computech started on tuesday so it has no name it has no
4:35 price what it does have is a very beautiful id so id for those of you who
4:40 don't know isn't always identification sometimes it means industrial design it
4:44 kind of reminds me of ASUS's uh vento
4:48 chassis from way back in the day but much classier that thing was like it
4:52 kind of bulged out at the bottom and it was like glossy bright fraking colors
4:56 whereas this uses bit phoenix's classic
4:59 s touch on top as front don't know
5:03 frontel even op will be a door but this is very
5:09 very early sample absolutely nothing about it is final but i think it looks
5:12 pretty darn nice which brings us finally to the shadow this one is entry level
5:17 quiet case so you got noise dampening material here in the front
5:28 and
5:32 u cases we were expecting benix but
5:36 headss thre me for a bit of a loop because that is actually not something
5:40 that i was expecting this is the bit phenix flow headset and what theyve done
5:44 what theyve attempted to do here is they wanted to build a headset that is
5:48 optimal for gaming but without blowing out the base without creating that that
5:52 inevitable problem that we seem to have with 99% of gaming headsets out there
5:57 where they are optimized to make explosion sound really rough and really manly but
6:01 they actually don't deliver a very satisfying music listening experience so
6:05 they're trying to move away from that and deliver a more balanced sound with
6:08 an id that you're going to be comfortable wearing outside of your
6:12 house and away from your pc where it doesn't really matter if you look like a
6:15 total dork now if i didn't want to look like a
6:19 total dork there's a good chance that i shouldn't have picked the pink one and
6:22 don't worry the chain is an optional accessory you do not actually have to
6:26 have the no i'm just kidding this is antithft device you don't want people walking away with these so the main
6:30 features here are you've got your inline volume as well as microphone mute and
6:34 you might say oh but lus there is no microphone on that headset well this
6:38 again is in line with the concept of having it be possible to move away from
6:41 the pc so see if i can do this not
6:44 looking at it that'll be the test of how good it is there you go so you can
6:48 attach the microphone like that it has a limited amount of adjustment wouldn't
6:51 mind seeing something that you can like really snake around but honestly for me
6:55 the problem is that a lot of headsets have such long boom mes that they end up
6:59 right in the middle of your mouth which is actually not the optimal placement for them you want them instead by the
7:04 corner of your mouth and that happens to be where this ends up on me the headphones themselves are
7:08 selfadjusting which means where normally i would show you guys the adjustable
7:13 headband um i i can't really because you
7:16 put it on your head and it see i can't even like figure out how this works
7:19 without the without actually putting it on so you put it on your head and it
7:22 adjusts to where it's supposed to sit i like the approach they've taken with the
7:26 headphone strap here because so many times you see lightwe
7:34 of aad g with alexible stp with a little
7:39 bit of padding on the inside and kept the structural integrity parts right here
7:43 which actually made out of what feels like these metal with plastic on the
7:47 outside metal with plastic on the outside so you maintain that lightness
7:51 without actually adding s
7:56 of add bum comes with a two stage cable which
8:00 means you can leave one end plugged into your pc so you can see this has quite a
8:04 short cable on it i'm going to see if i can like steal their uh their ipod here
8:08 so it has a short cable but there's another cable that acts as an extension
8:11 and plugs into the back of your pc so you can just plug it in and go away as
8:16 you see fit personally i love these two stage cables because i don't actually
8:20 plug anything into the back of my computer ever when it comes to headphones there you go guys there's the
8:25 two stage cable so that means you've got your split microphone and headphone
8:28 jacks here and then you've actually got then you've actually got a four p that's
8:33 on the microphone itself that goes into the single adapter on the other end i
8:38 prefer this because i use uh here we go
8:41 sorry i'll get you a good look at that i use a dac as well as a headphone amp at
8:45 my computer so having the option to not have this long cable loop because i'm
8:49 never going to actually run it around to the back of my computer anyway is really
8:53 convenient for me thank you so much for checking out this compex 2013 video
