0:00 my friends and welcome to the WAN Show the
0:05 restaurant that's not even relevant a
0:09 joke isn't just supposed to be random this is not Family Guy this is the WAN
0:13 show this is a much better show there was a TJ Fridays in uh Norway and that
0:18 was weird that is kind of trippy yeah why
0:22 would there be a TJ Fridays I would think it would be like I I can't even I
0:26 I don't even know what language they speak in Norway Norwegian it's they they
0:30 have a language it's like a slightly different version of yeah oh
0:34 interesting anyways we have some pretty interesting call outs which lonus is
0:38 going to start I guess or not yeah right
0:42 so uh good old G excuse me uh Gog
0:45 they're not good old games anymore cuz they have like Witcher 3 coming out on
0:49 it soon or something uh they have their own launcher so they're looking to go up
0:53 against steam as opposed to being a place where you can buy like you know
0:57 Hugo's House of Horrors um Microsoft is
1:00 calling Windows 10 the last version of
1:03 Windows which either means they've uh kind of decided okay that's it we've
1:08 made enough billions of dollars we're going to pack it in we're all going to retire we're going to take all the cash
1:12 divvy it up between all the Microsoft employees and B I mean can you imagine
1:16 if a company the size of Microsoft did that they just like y dissolved
1:20 overnight you know what you know we're done let's just let's just you know what
1:25 you know Apple for example let's say apple decided you know what we've got
1:28 $80 billion in the bank it's more than
1:31 enough money for the we make every single one of our employees even like
1:35 store level janitors just not have to work for the rest of their lives yeah
1:38 that's enough I mean we we earned this forget it we don't need a Beats by Dre
1:43 streaming service anymore I mean forget who cares let them you know get their
1:48 music somewhere else which is actually a topic we're going to talk about later but you go ahead anyways Nintendo is
1:53 looking into mobile games or potentially looking into mobile games which is
1:57 interesting and our last call out isn't even really a call out it's a whole
2:02 topic anyways Tesla is selling used cars and they're selling them by region so
2:06 that's pretty cool and the whole topic dang it you gave there was one piece of
2:11 the topic left then and you ruined even that well you could technically buy it
2:15 from a different region but the store you search by I haven't fired you in a
2:19 while so I look for like Vancouver and then you see that there's like a 5%
2:22 discount and now you're even you're elabor you're elaborating on the one
2:28 little piece of information that they were missing from the announcement video
2:31 it's because it's Tesla I can't like I can talk about this for too long but
2:36 this is the WAN Show so we have potentially more interesting topics to
2:39 talk about potentially intro it
2:44 worked yeah I tested I think it's like lagging
2:48 though is anyone even
2:54 watching yes oh okay good
3:02 I know twitch at some point they're going to fix sorry oops um uh sponsor
3:07 Linda learn things fresh books yeah
3:11 account for things yeah mop buy things buy things
3:16 with the money that you made so you learn stuff start your own business and
3:20 run the accounting for it and then buy stuff with the money that you made from
3:23 this this is a highly disturbing Trend that I'm seeing from you is trying to
3:27 tie all of our sponsors together and then no seriously if you tie in Dollar
3:31 Shave Club as well you can look professional throw them off an integration
3:36 Cliff that's what you're doing you're drowning them all you're throwing them
3:40 in the water all drowning them all in success can you imagine that would be a
3:44 great Channel Super Fun swim while tied
3:51 together you we have to do it in a pool that we wouldn't die in yeah yeah yeah
3:54 yeah yeah yeah we'd have to have like like you'd have to have kind of oh I
3:59 don't know what you'd have to do you'd have to have like ropes tied to you that
4:02 people at the side can like literally pull you right out of the pool if like
4:05 something we could put like carabiners on them so you could disconnect from people if it really became bad yeah yeah
4:10 but like so you make teams right and
4:13 each team has to choose the way that so
4:17 okay okay okay so like if you're going to do the butterfly or whatever yeah so you do multiple Heats right so each team
4:23 gets to choose so let's say we have three teams right we got seven people who work here someone's going to have to
4:27 operate the camera so you got three teams teams each team gets to choose a
4:31 way that everyone has to be tied together oh my God so you do three Heats
4:36 oh no right so you can swim however you want I guess yes but if team L for
4:43 example says okay you have to be tied
4:46 together at the waist side by side then
4:50 everyone has to do that oh my God we can have Team L because we have two L's team
4:53 n because of two uh n's and then team T
4:58 because of a t and an
5:02 e you're determined to ruin this show today aren't
5:06 you sorry that actually sounds hilarious and we should probably do that so why
5:10 don't we kick off with some Community announcements we'll have to find a pool
5:13 that'll let us film at it I was trying to take a picture of my son at his
5:17 swimming lesson and they were like no no no no no and I was like oh yeah I guess
5:21 I I get that cuz like oh yeah it's a
5:24 camera and stuff but like I was clearly
5:28 like part of a pool can you do can you
5:31 rent a pool I think so you because I think you can book a pool just like you
5:34 can book like a movie theater I okay you
5:37 know we should look into it it sounds like an expensive super fun I think
5:41 super fun is probably going to get to the point where we're going to start to
5:45 rely on something like patreon for it because quite quite frankly we haven't
5:50 figured out how to monetize it we just lose money on it we lose money every
5:54 time we do it cuz it's fun and because we like it and because we think you guys
5:58 like it yeah like there's a lot of reasons we do it but money is not is not
6:03 one of them like lonus Tech tips straight up is the swimmer with Channel
6:08 super fun tied to it and like swimming
6:11 in the opposite direction because even something like buying the life-size
6:16 soccer ball thing that I was rolling around inside for the upcoming video
6:20 which is going to be fun by way say most people don't know about that yeah that's
6:23 coming if you follow on Instagram you'll have seen a picture of the ball even
6:27 buying that ball it's like 60 bucks that's more we're going to make on
6:30 Google AdSense on that video to be completely Frank with you guys and then
6:33 the whole company was out for like two hours I think plus someone's going to
6:38 spend four or five hours editing the stupid thing like that's that's the
6:41 amount of money that we just throw in a fire every time we make a childan super
6:45 fun video but I think that if we did
6:49 like patreon funding for it where we kind of went okay every time we make a
6:53 Channel Super Fun you guys played you know two bucks or five bucks or whatever
6:56 I I haven't looked that closely into patreon they've contacted me been like
6:59 why don't you use patreon I was like well because we run a lot of advertising
7:03 on our content and I think we do a video every day so if you're contributing per
7:07 video that be yeah so unless people are like patreon contributors for like 50
7:11 cents they're going to feel like we're like giving it to them pretty hard and
7:14 people already give us monthly contributions we already have a mechanism for that which keeps our our
7:18 website afloat and you know pays for the much more expensive servers that we have
7:23 now compared to the one that was running off a test bench in the office at NC but
7:29 us that for a little while yeah oh it was awful it was bad it was really bad
7:34 we have like a real server and a real data center now and we have like real
7:38 monthly software package subscriptions that keep the whole thing running
7:41 smoothly it's amazing it's great um anyway I think something like that could
7:45 make sense but uh yeah we'd probably need need you guys to help with her or
7:49 something cuz I'm thinking the cost of like booking a pool for a couple hours
7:53 we need to do something like that it's not going to be cheap yeah um okay so
7:58 why don't we move into our first topic of the day and we can do that as soon as
8:04 I plug in my HDMI cable and we didn't
8:08 sincerely hope that it works otherwise blue screen oh I am not hoping for a
8:14 blue screen we're actually we're plugged into the black magic intensity right now
8:17 oh dear yeah so that blue screen legitimately straight up could straight
8:22 up happen so our first topic is why Microsoft is calling Windows 10 the last
8:28 version of Windows the original article here is from The Verge look at that why
8:33 is the webcam oh right here last week um
8:37 so why Microsoft is calling Windows 10 the last version of Windows now to be
8:41 clear the joke we made earlier about
8:44 maybe they're just packing it in and they're going to give all the money to
8:48 all the employees and tell them to retire um that is not what is happening
8:52 instead it's going to be um I mean there's been Rumblings of Windows as a
8:56 service for a long time now but that
9:00 there's no confirmation necessarily that that's what we're looking at here but
9:05 what Microsoft is saying is that Windows 10 is going to be the end of the of the
9:11 huge monolithic Windows releases every 2 to three years and the beginning of much
9:17 more Nimble rapid updates and not
9:20 necessarily to the OS as a whole or even
9:24 as a piece of
9:27 software cuz an OS is not a whole
9:30 oh but even to just individual
9:33 components of it so for example they could um they could update something
9:37 like Xbox or they could update uh you know mail for example and they could
9:43 continue to evolve the functionality of the OS with smaller updates over time
9:47 and now they have set a precedent now
9:50 for Windows 8.1 users getting or Windows
9:53 8 users getting the update to 8.1 which I still maintain was not a new OS I I
9:58 don't even understand why they called it anything other than eight service pack
10:02 one anyway even 8.1 just have have the
10:05 message and be like service packs are gone now it's a decimal point that would
10:09 have been fine I would have understood that like why do we insist on just
10:14 insisting it's a different operating system but there's an update to it so
10:19 the like no just stop anyway Windows 10 though they're offering a free update
10:24 and I guess you can also roll up to Windows 10 from 8.1 and you can even
10:28 revert it which is not the same as any pack I've thought that was awesome
10:32 anyways um so Windows 10 is has is the
10:35 first time we've seen them roll out a major update for free so I guess the the
10:42 question here is are we going to see 10.1
10:46 10.2 um is that is that just hilariously
10:50 close to Apple's OS 10 with iterations
10:55 um is is that what they're going that actually just occurred to me that's
10:58 pretty funny yeah it is every operating system will now be 10 Android
11:04 10 mem and N I wonder if they'll just get
11:10 rid of not a desert public naming like everyone else seems to be doing with
11:14 everything which is like not okay with Hardware but anyways I wonder if that
11:19 just get rid of public naming because eventually if they keep iterating like they did with eight so 8.1 and then keep
11:24 going on from there they'll eventually run out of numbers uh like they actually
11:28 ran into with Windows n where their internal software stuff went above the
11:33 and there's stuff that they could have done and like apple ran into when they
11:36 ran out of cats no really yeah that's why it's
11:40 yanity they ran out of interesting cats
11:44 I mean they could have gone with like you know os10
11:48 Tabby but but I don't think anyone would have
11:51 been that impressed Quil like knitting
11:57 needles oh or when you buy like when you
12:00 buy the entire ecosystem then you can you get like an a free upgrade to OS 10
12:05 cat lady comes with a cat sweater and and a
12:11 cat bed which they won't use and it comes with four cardboard boxes which
12:15 they will use that's right um what are
12:18 we even talking about anymore I don't know we were talking about Windows 10
12:21 right okay so yes it's unclear how Windows has a service like if you were
12:26 to have to buy a subscription for it will play into this um it's unclear if
12:30 they plan to monetize it through the App Store if they plan to finally do a way
12:35 better job of that which is what would be required for them to monetize Windows
12:40 through the App Store in any meaningful way um I I personally am kind of looking
12:45 at it as like okay well maybe we also thank you to Lord sparklebottom yes for
12:51 posting that topic um you know I I can I
12:54 can see them not necessarily charging for Windows but kind of subsidizing
13:00 Windows development with one drive your one drive subscription and with your
13:05 Office 365 subscription but it seems like you're so far away from that and I
13:11 would personally rather be able to use whatever version of those Services I
13:15 wanted and have it integrated so that I could easily do that and just pay for
13:19 Windows I mean the fact that Office 365
13:22 stubbornly insists that I use one drive for cloud saave means that I just
13:27 straight up don't don't use cloud save because one drive is just not as
13:33 convenient for me to use as Dropbox and and so we do use cloud saave we just use
13:38 the local file manager to save it into the Dropbox folder in instead of the
13:43 nicely integrated Cloud saave feature which should be open to everything which
13:47 exactly I can't I can't I like I even
13:50 paying for that yeah I am paying for Office 365 so if I decide I want to use
13:55 a different cloud storage service you know what I should be allowed to I
14:00 should be allowed to use Apple's cloud storage if I feel like it so so yeah I
14:04 mean I I guess unless they can find a way to make everything so neatly and
14:10 beautifully integrated that I don't even want to use anything else then then sure
14:14 we're a long way away from that but there's little stuff that Microsoft just
14:18 still doesn't get like um someone thought it was hilarious to sign up my
14:22 Hotmail account for uh they used one of those I mean it's not like this is
14:26 exactly a new prank but they used one of those pages where you can sign someone
14:29 up for like daily Inspirational Bible verses and you can uh sign people up for
14:36 like boatloads of them at once very conveniently with sites like this so um
14:41 I don't actually monitor the email account so I didn't realize until I
14:46 fired up an old smartphone that I haven't used in a long time that happens to be logged into that account and I was
14:50 watching a video on it and I was hearing notifications like every 5 or 10 seconds
14:55 and I was like what's going on that's kind of weird like what what where what
15:00 where are these even coming from and so I finally figured it out that Hotmail
15:04 address had 55,000 unread emails in it
15:08 and um so compared to Gmail where that
15:11 would be really simple I would create a
15:15 search for a domain I would go at this
15:19 contains create filter apply filter to
15:22 all previous conversations I would press one button and everything would be gone
15:27 for Hotmail they have a feature called sweep so you highlight a message you
15:31 press sweep and then it deletes and you
15:34 can select block feature messages but only that exact matching email address
15:40 and I'm sitting here going why L of these aren't going to match why yeah a
15:44 lot of them aren't going to match because content filters that's why I
15:47 don't have uh 15,000 emails from CES
15:51 every year yeah because of content filters filtering is is not just good it
15:56 is absolutely necessary I mean it's not like I'm saying that Gmail is perfect in
16:01 fact is this ever going to load there we go okay so I think I can screen share
16:07 with you guys right now should be fine yep all that looks fine okay yep I'm
16:13 going to screen share with you guys so I mean there's stuff like this that drives
16:17 me crazy about um oh you know what I'm going to no I am going to make sure of
16:21 something before I go ahead and start typing so um no no that's fine um so you
16:28 know like
16:32 um okay well you know what forget it there's a
16:37 couple things that Gmail does that drives me crazy like if you do a search
16:40 in the top bar in Gmail for just the sending domain it doesn't work and it's
16:46 just like really I can't just search for
16:49 keyword NVIDIA and have that bring up anyone who emailed no it has to actually
16:54 contain NVIDIA in the body of the email another thing is oh wait no could be
16:59 wrong hold on no maybe it's when I start searching for no no that's fine uh maybe
17:02 it's right yes that's what it is when
17:06 you uh when you start typing in the address bar you can't just type the
17:10 domain so if I just type NVIDIA it doesn't bring up a list of all the
17:14 people that I've corresponded with who have an email NVIDIA.com and I'm kind of
17:18 sitting here going why how is it possible that it doesn't
17:24 search the entire email address field
17:28 for or something like a keyword like that that all time so there so there is
17:32 stuff that drives me absolutely bananas another one that drives me crazy is I email myself a lot and if I type in and
17:38 this this is a funny one if I type in
17:42 lonus at it still doesn't come up with
17:47 my own email address it still populates
17:50 with a bunch of other people that are also on my company domain before my own
17:55 apparently if you go from colon NVIDIA it works but that's just that's stupid
17:59 why should I have to do that so yes I'm aware that you know I can go on Google
18:04 and I can go you know site colon blah blah blah and there are ways to yes use
18:09 search tools much more powerfully but I really shouldn't have to do something
18:13 that obvious so let's go ahead and move on to our next topic here what is our
18:19 next topic Apple wants to kill free music streaming apps like Spotify and
18:24 beats rech posted by tangra tangra
18:27 tangra article here is also from The Verge I don't know whether or not tangra
18:32 is like the the little fast uh like
18:36 monkey enemy who's like Speedy or or like the
18:41 the tangra like the big beastly enemy oh
18:44 I'm going to go with irritating yeah irritating little yeah I'm going to go
18:47 with monkey enemy okay yeah um so
18:51 Apple's apparently pushing music labels to kill free Spotify streaming ahead of
18:57 the Beats Rel launch so this picture is
19:00 from uh the is the famous picture of
19:04 some super not hip dudes with at least
19:08 one dude who is allegedly fairly fairly hip and with it so to speak I wouldn't
19:14 personally know much about the subject but that's from the acquisition of Beats
19:18 Audio by Apple the single largest acquisition they've ever made and the
19:22 Rumor the word on the street streets oh
19:29 was that it wasn't about the headphones it was rather about the beats music
19:34 streaming service that Apple wanted to you know sort of get into that business
19:39 of and sort of Leave Behind the more traditional iTunes model where users buy
19:44 individual songs or they buy albums so they they they wanted a competitive
19:48 streaming service now it is now known that Apple does intend to relaunch that
19:53 streaming service and the sort of the the Spotify is already speaking out
19:58 about Apple's business tactics for making sure that it doesn't have any
20:03 free competitors so apple is apparently
20:06 pushing record labels to influence them
20:09 and to influence their artists to remove
20:13 the free options remove their music from free options like spotify's ad supported
20:19 streaming service so which has to be one of like the least surprising things
20:23 pretty much ever um Taylor Swift has actually come out publicly I think this
20:27 was a number of months ago but I can see if I can find the quote uh when she
20:32 pulled when she didn't put her new album on Spotify and I think actually pulled
20:37 her entire back catalog yeah I think her
20:40 stuff is still on Google Play music I don't have a Spotify account so I can
20:45 actually um I can check that one but I I can't verify yeah so here's the here's
20:50 the article on the breakup with Spotify let's go ahead and so this is from CNBC
20:54 evidently she's got a good quote in here where basically the long and short of it
20:59 is there she is she's got lipstick on she's Taylor Swift that's very
21:02 interesting um but the long and short of
21:05 it is you know music should have a should have a value um we shouldn't be
21:10 treating it like it's free so people should pay for it and I want to protect
21:14 the users that spent you know $22.99 or
21:18 whatever it is they spent on the album from feeling like they got a raw deal
21:21 because someone else can listen to it for free if they're willing to put up with some advertising which sounds all
21:26 you know fine and good except that we all know what it's really about come on
21:30 now um and I mean that's fine it's not like
21:36 we're not also about making money for making our content it's just you might
21:39 as well at least be honest about it should just say I pulled my music off of
21:44 Spotify because yeah so shake it off so
21:47 her latest album is still not on Google Play music either so she's reserving it
21:50 for the album but her back catalog I believe still is available on a paid
21:54 service Google play music um so yeah you might as well just be be honest about it
21:58 is but that is a direction that I can definitely see more artists getting on
22:04 board with is hey you know what let's get people back in the habit of paying
22:08 for music maybe it's less but maybe it's
22:11 at least something the hard thing here
22:16 is that there will pretty much always be a service if someone wants your music
22:20 for free there will pretty much always be something whether it's YouTube or
22:25 something else well apparently Apple's putting Apple's putting pressure on
22:29 labels to remove free YouTube streaming as well which is also ad supplemented so
22:34 so the the idea is moving away from ad
22:38 supported music and I I know that you don't mean YouTube I know what you mean
22:42 and we might as well just speak frankly if it is too difficult for someone to
22:46 get the music in a way that they perceive is free or if you remove a
22:49 convenient option like Spotify cuz let's face it cuz buying buying music in
22:54 Canada is brutal like it actually is it sucks buying an album is really actually
23:00 difficult to do cuz most of the album stores don't really exist anymore or in
23:03 very crappy quantities and getting an
23:07 actual album is often not available you can't just buy the mp3s off of Amazon
23:12 remember I wanted the uh Arctic Monkeys A&M album yeah I do remember that and
23:17 someone in the States ended up buying the mp3s and being like I won't ever
23:21 listen to them so they're kind of yours here and gave them to me and I was like
23:25 uh it's like we haven't actually we haven't actually done this correctly but
23:30 I don't know how to tell you this is wrong because it doesn't feel wrong does
23:33 it no um so I don't know so anyway
23:37 stupid um so Spotify currently has 60 million users only 15 million of them
23:42 however are paid users and the beat streaming service is expected to be full
23:46 of exclusive content um the new
23:50 streaming service is expected to debut at WWDC in June what is WWDC um
23:55 worldwide developer conference oh and I
23:58 guess that's pretty much all there is to say about it I I think we got to do like
24:01 a Twitter Blitz or something for this so we talk about oh oh oh yes yeah like I I
24:05 want to because I want to hear from you
24:09 guys will you I first don't tweet me yet
24:13 because I'm I haven't told you what to tweet yet I want to hear from Spotify
24:17 users I want to hear from paid and free
24:21 Spotify user specifically so I I do subscribe to a streaming service I don't
24:26 qualify if you're a paid Spotify user I
24:29 want to I want to hear what you think about artists locking into exclusivity
24:35 deals with particular streaming services because for me personally a big part of
24:40 the argument for me paying a monthly subscription to you know use my stupid
24:44 data plan to listen to all of my music which I'm also paying for a huge part of
24:49 the argument is that it's a One-Stop shop I don't want to start subscribing
24:53 to Google Play music for my Taylor Swift and Spotify for my redot Chili Peppers
24:59 and beats music for my whatever cuz all of a sudden now we're adding up to maybe
25:03 I'm spending $25 $30 a month well hold on a second well I could just be buying
25:08 MP3s at a dollar a pop the old way for
25:12 what I'm now paying for a streaming service and arguably streaming services
25:16 do have a value I find the discoverability of new music is great
25:21 through a streaming service because I'll hear all kinds of stuff it never would
25:24 have even occurred to me to look for before but if all of a sudden I have to
25:28 subscribe to a bunch of them that's just that's just sucky because then then I
25:32 don't even know you know what music accessory to buy cuz maybe my Sonos
25:36 system or my you know whatever other you know music streaming device supports
25:40 this one but not the other now it turns into a fragmented nightmare um so I want
25:46 to hear from I want to hear from the paid Spotify Spotify users and I also
25:50 want to hear from the free Spotify users would you guys be willing to pay if the
25:55 exclusivity thing didn't happen would you be willing to pay for Spotify for
25:59 the same service you enjoy for free now with ads if it meant that artists like
26:03 Taylor Swift or let's say let's see you don't like Taylor Swift I don't care
26:06 it's not the point artists that you care about whose music you want to hear if
26:09 they didn't pull their support from the service entirely just for having a free
26:14 option so go ahead and uh start hitting us at linch on Twitter Let's uh let's
26:19 start getting those replies in and uh then let's go ahead and uh move into our
26:25 next topic and then we'll come back to that yes okay so this is from Alex Goes
26:29 High and the article is either from straight from the horse's mouth or from
26:35 The Verge the the actual straight from them article is quite good to be
26:38 completely honest so maybe we'll go with that
26:42 Boop check it out yo are you all butt
26:46 hurt at steam or valve or valves steam
26:51 are you letting off stee about how you feel about valve or giant Bronze Statues
26:56 that I'm kind of happy we didn't make I'm really glad we didn't build that thing CU like we wouldn't have managed
27:01 to for those of you who don't know we had like a like a a reward tier for
27:06 crowdfunding campaign we did a while ago where the plan was that we would um the
27:11 plan was that we would build a life-size gay Ben statue which would have been
27:15 hilarious but um by the time we managed to get the
27:20 thing commissioned get the artist out here get the thing actually built valve
27:24 would have gone from like you know the king of the popular gaming companies to
27:29 they've been doing a fair bit of digging lately so all right so you want an
27:32 alternative Gog galaxy forly known as good old games so
27:38 Galaxy is their new gaming platform that
27:41 is and get this DRM free so you can
27:45 actually have a completely DRM free version of any game that you own on good
27:50 old games and you can download that to your computer play it without DRM and
27:55 fully optional gaming Cent that you can
27:59 use for games that you buy on
28:03 g.com super cool the Rebrand is for a
28:06 reason so it used to be called good old games because it was all old games I
28:12 don't know that they were necessarily all good but they were definitely all
28:15 old yep um but that's not necessarily the case anymore so a big like you know
28:21 major launch title coming up is actually Witcher 3 which is not old might not be
28:27 good if you're into The Witcher it's probably
28:30 good but um personally I never really got into the whole the whole Witcher
28:35 thing I never super did but I have a buddy who's like it's probably his
28:38 favorite franchise I think he's watched I think there's a movie or something and
28:42 he's read books and yeah so he's really
28:45 excited about it there's some really cool features there's obvious kind of
28:49 things like optional auto updates and
28:52 oneclick installs which you'd kind of expect from this um but then there is
28:57 offline support which is cool cuz that's not necessarily true for everything and
29:00 the ability to roll back roll back auto updates is very cool leaving that for
29:04 the last one was the coolest thing I'm sorry roll back updates is awesome so
29:09 their their little blurb on this is sometimes game updates break things
29:12 which is very true um yeah thanks to the
29:16 built-in roll back feature you can restore your game to Prior states with
29:19 just a single click so even if you just didn't like something if you're like oh
29:23 they rebalanced this this way I'm playing a single player game and it
29:27 nerfed my character I'm just going to keep rolling around with this overpowered character you like all right
29:32 roll back um I think that's pretty cool for yeah like I just said a bunch of
29:37 different reasons also there's backup copy download which is cool their quote
29:41 on this is want to backup your purchases we get it for all games you can download
29:45 a DRM free backup installer that you can save to an external disc drive or Cloud
29:49 also super cool I love this thing I'm excited honestly I've been waiting for
29:53 this for a really long time so it's pretty cool that it's here than they
29:58 don't have their in-game overlay working yet
30:02 but uh I have two monitors anyways I'm not too worried about it and oh get it
30:06 not too worried about it I wasn't paying attention to you did
30:11 you know 22222 is falling on a
30:14 Tuesday no I didn't it is good for you
30:22 anyways crossplay right okay I wanted to talk about this crossplay enabled games
30:26 will offer online play between Gog and steam so I don't remember the name of
30:31 the game but there's a game that I bought on Kickstarter a while ago and I
30:34 cashed in my key before they had steam keys so I got a Gog key for it and then
30:39 all my friends bought it on Steam and I wasn't able to play with any of them and
30:43 it's like a co-op game so I haven't even
30:46 played it at all and I got it like a really long time
30:50 ago because I've been waiting for crossplay Get Wrecked so I'm excited for
30:56 that it might actually already be able to be done without the launcher but either way I don't know I'm super stoked
31:01 for this because I think valve's comfy
31:04 coach has been getting a little bit too comfy and they've been kind of they've
31:08 sold a lot of hats and they've got a lot
31:11 of money and the thing about a lot of money is that it seems to uh it seems to
31:17 turn into well how do we get like more of it so that we can build an even
31:21 bigger money for it uh pretty quickly and it just yeah it I don't know it just
31:26 seems like it seems seems like a lot of what we I wonder if we've been just
31:31 misinterpreting valve all along like a lot of what
31:38 we what sorry um a lot of what we've
31:43 misinterpreted as valve just generally being good guys is simply valve being
31:48 good business guys so the decisions that they make that please the community are
31:53 they doing it because they believe it's the right thing to do or are they doing it because of you know famous quotes
31:58 like Gabe n's um don't do anything blah
32:02 blah blah Don't Lie to the internet because they'll remember and they'll always catch you etc etc etc is that
32:07 advice because that's an ethical good guy thing to do or is that advice
32:11 because it's a business thing because it's a your business will not make as
32:15 much money if you don't do that so I think there's a lot of room for for
32:19 someone to come in and compete with valve I don't think Ubisoft or EA are
32:23 necessarily the answer we need a truly third party service and that's what
32:27 what's interesting about G is that they don't make
32:32 games so they're not you're not supporting a competitor's platform EA
32:38 doesn't have to line valves Pockets to
32:42 have their game on valves platform and
32:45 vice versa so maybe then we might see a
32:49 little bit less of the sort of you know
32:52 the the the up play fortress and the origin Fortress and the steam Fortress
32:57 maybe at at some point in the future I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon we will see a Bonafide thirdparty
33:03 option that these guys can feel comfortable launching their games
33:06 through because there was a time long
33:09 long ago when game developers were willing to share their profit margins
33:14 with a retailer it was a long time ago um so I
33:20 don't I don't think it's that uh e games and GameStop oh no nope I'm totally
33:25 wrong apparently it's owned by CD project red why I made the weird face no
33:29 no I was wrong I did not know that I did not know that GG was owned by CD project
33:36 red I actually didn't know it was an ownership either but I knew they were
33:39 like super major in cahoots that much is
33:43 apparent I did not know they owned it so there you go there is no well then it's
33:48 okay so CD project owns CD project red and G so there you go apparently well
33:55 let's move on then GG luses hopeful you
33:59 know future amazing so we have to wait for something else then well CD project
34:05 seems to kind of want to work with people yeah but it doesn't matter
34:09 because another game developer isn't going to want to line their pockets
34:12 because we all see what happened that last time that
34:16 happened yay uh so let's go ahead and go to that
34:21 Twitter Blitz that I had said that we would do before so something about
34:26 Arctic Monkeys yeah um so you know no
34:31 they should keep the ad supported tier right but that wasn't really the
34:34 question the question was if they are
34:38 forced to would you pay basically the problem is that uh even when you watch
34:43 ads you're not making as much money for that person or platform or whatever you
34:47 want to call it as you would if you contributed directly very little often
34:51 times like fraction of a scent enough
34:54 that it can keep them afloat and can probably cover your C of being on the
34:58 website if their name is Taylor Swift and a lot of people listen to it but oh
35:03 I meant for just the hosting service oh I see
35:07 um but yeah all right um Eric flood free
35:12 Spotify user here seems like a complete money grab well yes Apple's turning into
35:16 the same institution that they beat oh that is uh that is actually a pretty
35:20 spot
35:23 on um yeah I mean a big part of Apple's pitch was oh BL blah blah blah the way
35:28 we've always done this with the incumbents with buying an entire album
35:32 or buying a single for way too much for one song is stupid we should do and and
35:37 apple that's actually that's actually really interesting Apple stuck to their
35:41 guns about things like the you know the 99 Cent song download back in the day
35:47 because it's not like there couldn't have been premium songs for $4.99 as a
35:52 as a single release for example on iTunes that could have been done but
35:56 they were they were they were they held steadfast that a song should cost a
36:00 dollar on the iTunes Store so so the
36:04 whole thing that they that that that's a really good point the whole the whole
36:07 thing where you had to pay way too much to listen to music did get torn down by
36:12 Apple and that was a big step towards online music distribution so it seems
36:16 like now that someone else innovated
36:19 before Apple um they kind of want to
36:22 dial things back and go back to go back to the old way um very very interesting
36:29 Mr flood Matthew Harvey says I'm a free user Spotify for me is too expensive
36:33 when I can just watch it on YouTube if it becomes exclusive now something to watch out for uh Mr Harvey is that the
36:40 same pressure on Spotify will also be on YouTube for ad supported
36:45 music yes with that said I mean it's not
36:49 like Google has made any kind of a
36:52 particularly well-kept secret out of the fact that they intend to move YouTube
36:56 towards some kind of a premium platform they already have what I forget what
37:00 it's called now but their YouTube music pass thing that costs about the same asy
37:04 think music key thank you or whatever I forget what it's called I think he is
37:07 right um so yeah I wouldn't imagine for
37:11 a second my thing with YouTube though with what he's bring up it's not even
37:14 necessarily Vivo or like YouTube music or whatever it's the like random dude
37:19 that uploaded the whole album and no matter how much YouTube
37:23 wants to like have their algorithms go and take them all out there always seems
37:27 to be a few that make it through regardless yeah which is funny because
37:32 like I uploaded a video actually it's funny the fractal designed to find our 4
37:36 April fools video that we uploaded got flagged for uh content infringement and
37:41 the supposedly infringing part of the video was when the rain was falling on
37:46 the case at the end of the video and it was like it's this song I'm it is not
37:50 there is no song there isn't even any audio in the video at that point um so
37:55 anyway it was a video that got like 300,000 VI use and the AdSense got
37:58 ripped off of it so I was like can you not please did they did they give it
38:04 back I don't know I didn't look but by now no one's going to watch that video anymore like it's just stupid so anyway
38:10 um I don't know there there it seems to be pretty cat cholly for certain things
38:15 yeah um when I watch YouTube that matters I turn off ad block like your
38:18 case okay that's good thank you uh not
38:22 necessarily the topic of conversation right now um for a show about technology
38:26 why do you use low bit rate and only 30 FPS on Twitch well Canada yeah thank you
38:31 we're Canadian and our internet service provider is being a in fact we've
38:36 dropped 413 frames on this show alone
38:39 and we're only streaming at some pathetic I think about half of our
38:43 official rated upload speed maybe like a third of it there's not much we can do
38:47 about that right now we are moving yes to a new office that will have a 200
38:51 megabit Uplink and then we better freaking be able to stream properly
38:55 we're going to stream whatever we please once that happens god um as a free user
39:00 I don't care about the paid service I just ignore the ads I think what a lot
39:04 of you guys are missing is that what's happening is the songs you want to
39:07 listen to aren't going to be there anymore so there is no ignoring the ads
39:13 it's like the song's not there so um so
39:17 I I really wanted to get a feel for whether whether you guys would be would
39:20 be willing to pay as free users but I think maybe I didn't I didn't you know I
39:25 didn't succinctly enough make the point of what I I you go to the next thing
39:29 I'll see if I can sure um all right so
39:32 our next topic for the day Star Wars
39:36 Battlefront will not have iron sights
39:39 according to EA um so my initial reaction here and
39:44 this is this is like totally a joke and
39:49 not what I would really expect them to actually do but can you
39:54 imagine a Star Wars Battlefront where you had like scenario missions where
39:58 you've got like a crack team of Rebel Commandos like you've got four or six
40:03 Rebels versus what what is it 20 20 player or 24 player can't remember
40:08 anymore so you had so you had the Imperials but the Imperials can only hit
40:12 fire because Stormtroopers can't hit anything dirty dirt so like so like the
40:17 rebels can look down a site but the Stormtroopers just have to be like
40:22 PE and they have so so like that could
40:25 make that could make for a really fun game mode right that would be hilarious
40:30 and the Stormtroopers have really quick respawns and it's all objective based
40:34 right so the rebels have to plant a bomb in the thing and the and and Storm
40:38 Troopers like their guns Jam or whatever like like you make the stor they're slow
40:43 moving they can't see they hit their head on doors as they're opening yeah
40:46 they can get taken Ewoks jump on them and beat them with like stones and for
40:52 some reason spam spam F to get rid of Ewok yeah the armor that they're wearing
40:56 doesn't do anything for some reason like
40:59 that would be a super fun game mode that would be awesome just eliminate iron
41:05 sights and the quote is
41:08 hilarious it doesn't say we want to be Counter-Strike there are no iron sights
41:12 in Star Wars on the ordinary blasters
41:16 box said you have scopes on some rifles
41:20 but there are no iron sights we're not
41:23 taking into account what we've done before I think that would be
41:27 disrespectful to the fans and to what we're trying to achieve
41:31 here in response to the fact that their other shooter Battlefield does actually
41:37 in fact contain iron sights a lot of the things you saw in the game have nothing
41:40 to do with anything we've done before some features of course resemble our
41:46 other Shooters because we want to make the best possible shooter but in general
41:51 we've tried to do something completely unique okay what did he even say he said
41:56 a whole bunch of [ __ ] you've watched the movies a lot though do they aim down
42:00 the side of the gun of course they do then who cares not well to be clear well
42:05 Stormtroopers can't because the costume
42:08 prevents them from like the the chin you can't get your chin against the gun but
42:12 they do hold the gun like this now I
42:15 actually have from shepperton Design
42:18 Studios a stormtrooper Blaster oh that
42:21 I'm going to go retrieve now while you maybe do another topic or something like
42:25 that don't worry I got this I got this I'm going to go retrieve my Stormtrooper
42:30 Blaster and we're going to find out if it has anything on it resembling SES or
42:34 if that's even more nonsense than it already appeared to be cool that's I
42:38 will return I would love to do another topic for you guys but my laptop has
42:42 completely lagged out just use mine all right I can use Linus's laptop oh
42:47 fantastic oh there we go my laptop's working again good timing so we have
42:52 another Topic in here that isn't actually uh it doesn't have any notes on
42:56 it at all but I'm going to cover it anyways because I just think it's that
42:59 hilarious I'm going to try to post it in chat let's see if it'll work yes okay so
43:05 Jewelers are starting to Plate Apple watches with gold to undercut Apple's
43:11 pricey Edition models hilarious and it
43:14 looks really good like okay I don't like
43:17 gold to be completely honest I would actually rather the Silvery model one if
43:21 I wanted one of them but it looks really good for what it is and I think that's
43:26 absolutely hilarious I don't know how how much it costs golden dreams is Apparently one of
43:31 them so it cost about $3,500 oh my butt's wet oh not
43:48 cool how much water was that here
43:52 bit can I see yeah yeah here just oh wow
43:57 yeah so that mostly went on your butt too yeah no it went like it went like
44:02 like it hit the shirt and kind of went down the pants
44:05 actually so okay that's good to know so all the water that's on the couch has
44:09 actually touched your butt yes nice okay yes it is butt water I wanted to make
44:13 sure that it was at least butt water okay what what are we talking about um
44:17 Apple watch the guys that are plating it with gold for
44:21 $3,500 24 karat gold 24 karat yellow
44:25 gold 18 karat rose gold or 18 car white gold so there is a less expensive
44:30 Service uh the one that we've actually talked to is watch plate which is doing
44:36 it for 400 bucks which I think is actually a lot more reasonable because
44:40 when you account for that the Apple watch it has an $85 bomb cost I I think
44:46 spend 24 karat rose gold or 24 karat yellow C which is even better than the
44:51 spec I'm not aware of 24 karat rose gold cuz like the composition of rose gold I
44:55 don't know if it actually allows for 24 someone tweeted me about this and I
44:59 didn't look into it any further but I don't know much about my point is for
45:04 something like a mobile device that I that I you know realistically you're
45:08 going to replace at least every couple of generations I think 700 or $800 total
45:14 is a lot more reasonable than you know three or four or $5,000 total let alone
45:20 15 or 17 or however much an addition costs so I think this is brilliant I a
45:25 lot of the comments on the thread on the Forum were about um how Apple's probably
45:30 going to sue I don't see how Apple could sue them I don't think you can that's
45:34 like that's like Ford suing someone for painting their car and they're not
45:39 selling goldplated Apple watches they're selling the service of gold plating a
45:44 Apple watch and I actually talked to watch plate the the guy at watch
45:47 plate.com I think they're going to send us an Apple Watch for review because we
45:50 obviously weren't able to get one from Apple because we're us um and it will be
45:54 so in much the same way that we do uh debr and um skinned phones since dbrand
46:00 provides our phones um it looks like we're going to do a goldplated watch and
46:03 so we'll we'll work in some messaging about the goldplated watch and all that
46:07 and anyway um so so we're probably going to work with those guys on it and I'm
46:11 really I'm really excited to see it anyway I talked to him and the
46:14 background of their company is really really interesting so they actually have
46:18 other businesses including uh something to do with like motorcycles and stuff
46:22 too so they're actually not just a fly
46:25 by night like dude in his garage with some chemicals plating things um so so
46:31 that's that's pretty cool that's that's good to know and he's looked very deeply
46:37 into the legality of this already and kind of went I he's got it cover this is
46:41 his process you you you place your order yeah uh you wait for a shipping label
46:45 which they will send you when it's when it comes to you you package up your
46:49 watch and ship it to them they gold plate it and ship it back within 3 days
46:52 and then you're done so they're not actually selling anything to do with the
46:56 watch other than plating it and you're allowed to do modifications for things
46:59 yes so if they were selling goldplated watches then there's a big problem
47:04 especially if they were calling it like you know addition watch for you know
47:08 $8.99 or $9.99 or whatever then then
47:11 it's like there's a trademark infringement there's all kinds of stuff that Apple can go after them for this
47:16 just looks like Apple's going to have to shut up and take it on the chin and uh
47:21 there's going to be no actual way to differentiate a goldplated cheaper watch
47:27 from an addition watch on the street and the people who buy addition watches are
47:31 just going to have to live with that is there like under the bottom of the watch
47:35 does it actually say addition on it probably so like I still think those
47:41 guys that were going to go out of their way to buy a $10,000 watch will probably
47:45 still do it I really wish they'd buy something other than an ad I've just not
47:51 saying it's a good idea yeah I just think they'll actually probably still do
47:54 it I guess why do I care it's not like I think buying a $10,000 watch is a good
47:58 idea in the first place yeah no I don't this might even give them more of a
48:02 reason because then they can look down on the people like if you see some if
48:05 you're wearing a gold one and someone else is wearing a gold one you can be like oh well is it actually an
48:11 addition and then if they're like no I just got a CO bit you okay sure that's
48:16 fine I got an actual addition blah blah blah blah blah I'm on their site right
48:20 now I'm looking to see if they show the bottom of it at all I don't know has
48:24 anyone actually reviewed the addition yet
48:27 I don't know I I have no idea I'd love
48:30 to see a picture of the bottom just so I can find out or if there's something in
48:36 the firmware that tells us it's an addition like if you can you know scroll
48:40 down to a menu or something I don't know I don't see a single picture of the
48:44 bottom of the watch it seems like no one's actually that interested in that
48:48 that's funny anyway I'm really looking forward to reviewing it I'm also apparently also
48:54 courtesy of dbrand uh apparently going to reviewing the MacBook
49:00 2015 you know what here's the way I'm
49:03 going to tackle it there's actually a couple different angles that I have in my mind so I'm going to try and use it
49:10 I'm going to legit I was going to say the only way I think you can do it is use it and actually see how many times
49:15 you are unable to use it properly so I'm going to keep a tally of the number of
49:19 times that I needed to so I'm going to have to use it for an extended period I actually have a couple ideas of content
49:25 and one thing to keep in mind is while I believe that his uh Massacre of the
49:30 product will be just he is a cable salad
49:34 power user whenever we're in an airport there's everything you could possibly
49:38 connect to everything whenever we're anywhere there's everything you could
49:41 possibly connect to everything um so it will be somewhat of an extreme case I
49:46 I'm that's in saying that like I said I still think it's just but there's a
49:50 couple ways it could win me over there's a couple ways that could convince me
49:53 I've heard Apple's touchpads are outstanding I've used them briefly I've
49:57 never owned a Macbook though so I've used them they seem great every time
50:01 I've Ed them they seem really good I do prefer a mouse in general but I also
50:05 have never owned a Macbook so a mouse is the kind of thing that I very frequently
50:10 I carry one in my backpack I carry a mouse pad I very frequently plug a mouse
50:14 into my laptop what you talking about like a lot of us might carry mice and
50:18 mouse pads but there's not that many people that do that so I'm going to give
50:23 it a chance to win me over I'll give it a chance to win me over but I'm exp in
50:27 it to be a massacre when I was in school I carried a mouse and mouse pad to every
50:31 class of but like that's us like I don't know how many people will do so let's
50:35 see we'll see how it goes um but uh I'm
50:38 I'm I'm definitely I'm definitely stoked on that it's definitely going to be a
50:42 lot of fun I also brought my keyboard got a lot of people telling me to
50:45 apparently it says 18K gold on the bottom of the Edition okay all right
50:48 thank you very much so if they start engraving them then it's a problem I
50:53 guess maybe I don't know no cuz you're allowed to engrave anything you want
50:57 yeah and if if you actually spray it with 18K gold you wouldn't even be lying
51:01 yeah it would just say 18 well yeah but I could I could engrave it with made in
51:06 space and it's gray and that's not
51:09 that's not an infringement of made space gray coated with
51:13 plastic that it be like 20 karat gold like whatever 2 um okay so let's move on
51:19 to our oh no no let's go back a topic so
51:24 this is my E18 blaster this is uh from
51:27 shepperton Design Studios they sent this over along with the stormtrooper armor
51:32 that we featured in a couple of our videos in the past and uh let's have a
51:37 look here so now now EA has come out and
51:40 said that some some rifles will have
51:44 Scopes so sniping for example will be possible you're not going to have to hit
51:48 fire if you're sniping but I know for a fact that Han Solo's Blaster does have a
51:53 small scope on it even if it doesn't have an iron sight and and I now know
51:58 for a fact that the e11s in the original
52:02 in the original Star Wars and New Hope have a scope and an iron sight right
52:10 there so EA straight up lied to us again
52:13 there's your iron sight yes you can look down it if you were and you can see the
52:19 way the scope is mounted is on is on a
52:22 gun rail that scope comes off there's
52:27 your rear there's your front of the iron sight bam that is not a sniper rifle
52:34 that is a standard issue assault rifle and it has an iron sight EA Q D Get
52:42 Wrecked Get Wrecked all
52:47 right and that's as close to screen authentic as you're going to find it's
52:51 not like they just tacked on iron sights for no apparent
52:54 reason um oh yeah right uh we have sponsors for
52:59 this show and one of them is one of them
53:02 is linda.com hey look at that we got a new
53:06 mouse it works this week oh yay yay I
53:11 forgot about that linda.com is used by excuse me used by thousands of millions
53:16 of people around the world thousands of millions except not cuz that's a really
53:20 big number that's billions you could probably learn about that on linda.com
53:24 yeah you could probably learn some math on Linda all right well you could learn Excel
53:28 used by millions of people around the world they have more than 3,000 courses
53:32 available which is what I guess you were thinking of EX they have topics like web
53:36 development photography visual design business WordPress Photoshop Excel thank
53:42 you and the courses are taught by industry experts
53:46 so the whole idea behind it is that you get your your plan so they start at $25
53:51 a month and then you learn whatever you want at your own pace whatever your
53:55 objective happens to be you want to get get better at your hobby you want to get
53:58 better at your job you want to get a promotion opportunity you want to start
54:01 a completely new job altogether you want to become a freelancer working at home
54:05 linda.com I'm not going to say is the answer but it is sure as heck a place to
54:09 start and if you check out our link right here linda.com show you can try it
54:13 for free for two weeks to find out if it's right for you if the whole learning
54:17 at your own pace thing is a good two like business weeks 10 days 10 days
54:23 sorry yeah two two thank you business weeks let's just
54:27 call that speaking of business freshbooks.com is the online tool for
54:31 folks who run their own business yes so
54:34 instead of and I by the way I I oh oh if
54:38 your parents are watching I have now paid the invoice for the Copper from
54:44 your dad's Plumbing business which you haven't but I'm but I'm saying this so
54:49 that they know that it I have I have done my I have done my part of it he has
54:54 disengaged so this is the old way you know a contractor books a job and they
55:00 kind of have a vague notion vague notion of how many hours they spent on the
55:05 project not that we were being build hourly anyway because Loop's dad is a
55:08 freaking Saint and really helped us out with that project 4 in the morning yep
55:13 and so so you kind of track your hours you kind of track your materials you
55:17 hopefully have your receipts somewhere and then at the end of it you hopefully
55:21 remember to send an invoice in a timely manner and then the customer hopefully
55:25 pays you at some point with fresh books the workflow is simplified you use the
55:29 online tool to track things like your hours track mileage keep track of all
55:33 that stuff it's stored online so when you finished the job it's as simple as
55:37 Boop email something to the client get a notification that they've read it they
55:42 can pay it by credit card and instead of you know running around dealing with
55:46 payments and billing you are running around doing your business so check out
55:49 freshbooks.com slw if you or anyone you
55:53 know is looking for a way to simplify your accounting and if you do so try to
55:57 remember to enter when and the how did You Hear About Us section when you sign
56:00 up oh yeah right thank you for that all
56:03 right our last one today is mass drop least favorite sponsor what oh cuz
56:09 you spend all your money cuz they take my money yes and if you want to play
56:12 Battlefront you could get the battle station bundle to play with Battlefront
56:16 so you can shoot with iron sights all right so it's
56:19 drwan show and the battle station bundle
56:23 is actually looking pretty appealing right about now now when it first
56:28 launched it was not at its lowest price because that's the way that mass drop
56:33 works is they have a price range and whatever deal they Source based on
56:37 community feedback from the manufacturer starts at the highest price which is
56:41 usually moderately discounted or even just a little bit discounted and then
56:45 the more people glom onto it the lower the price drops and this one is looking
56:49 like a pretty Kick-Ass deal because it's already at the lowest price you guys
56:54 don't even need to commit to anything look at that they were only projecting
56:59 10 to reach the lowest price there's only 2 days left they sold 104 of these
57:05 so it's an ergotech ARM and 3 24in LG
57:10 monitors and the price is apparently uh
57:15 $39.99 us so I think I'm on I think I'm
57:18 seeing Canadian pricing oh oh oh I'm not
57:22 9.99 to Canada yeah I'm not signed in so it's not yeah so it's 53 to Canada and
57:27 then the US pricing right now is hopefully in the dock somewhere unless
57:33 totally five oh 540 us oh wow did that
57:37 say 539 Canadian what no it must be us
57:41 oh it's just shipping plus Canadian shipping okay so yeah it's 540 us for a
57:46 triple monitor ergotech ARM and three
57:49 1080p IPS display so pretty sick deal
57:53 you guys can check that out at draw UPS slw show sign up for Mass drop and check
57:58 our link which is the one that he just talked about for a variety of drops as
58:01 well oh yeah they just that they have more than that I usually I usually have
58:05 that knife they have like all kinds of cool stuff on there actually I got an
58:09 audio recorder so that we don't have to use Brandon's anymore not that long ago
58:12 that's good so that was pretty good yeah that was actually been using Brandon's
58:16 for a really long time we've got a rapid fire topic posted by Overlord original
58:20 article here is from tech power up and
58:24 uh fix Stars unveils the highest capacity 2 and 1/2 in SSD yet
58:32 6,000 gabes what that's ridiculous unknown
58:37 controller right now 6 million
58:42 megabytes keep going six billion
58:48 kilobytes Six Trillion
58:51 bytes six quadrillion tth of a bite
58:55 which doesn't actually exist because a bite is eight no eight bits so you would
59:00 only have like 78 of a bit per tenth of
59:04 a bite which is stupid sorry should I it is kind of dumb
59:10 it does make sense at a third certain point it's just really annoying to calculate but not for a computer anyways
59:15 time to keep going um it has an unknown controller up Nick hey how's it going
59:21 I'm going to make this super awkward oh thank you bringing us water what a nice
59:26 guy thanks Nick thanks Nick we appreciate you wow he flipped us off you
59:31 know Brandon Appreciation Day is coming do you remember that Brandon appreciation day almost a year AG almost
59:37 a year ago we had Brandon appreciation day where we called Brandon in and then
59:42 we're just like I appreciate you and then you told me to make a calendar
59:45 notification for it for the next year I completely forgot about it was setting
59:49 up the garbage calendar schedule and then saw Brandon appreciation day really
59:53 and was like what the hell is that that should we have Brandon appreciation day
59:58 again when is it August 1st August 1st which Saturday but we can just do it on
60:02 the day before rock on we should we should totally do Brandon Appreciation
60:06 Day this year don't tell him I I asked
60:10 him what the hell it was but you asked Brandon what it was but cuz I was like I
60:14 was like I don't know what this is but he doesn't know that we're doing it again oh I see so he'll probably just
60:20 forget about it okay excellent all right so uh basically the details of that SSD
60:25 are pretty straightforward uh 15 15 nanometer
60:31 mlc um mlc flash uh the underlying
60:35 controller is unknown yes um it saturates a SATA 36 GB per second
60:40 interface 540 megab per second read up to 520 megabytes per second right it
60:45 supports trim it has a three-year warranty um no no random iops
60:51 specifications are stated so the idea here is I think that this is not
60:56 intended to be a high performance desktop drive this is a mass storage SSD
61:00 for some reason I would laugh so hard if it was just like this tall no no it's
61:05 not it's not it's not it's it's it's standard I think oh 9.5 mm thick
61:09 standard 9 and a half millim thick like well it is 2 and 1/2 in in that
61:13 Dimension it's just also 3 feet tall that would be super awesome to put in
61:19 your notebook and just have like a 6 tbte laptop notebook SSD it's not going
61:25 to fit a lot of not books but it'll fit like some of the the like big ones the
61:29 really big ones yeah even those are moving to m.2 like even Ms size gt8 only
61:35 but if you get those like those little Boutique laptops that you can configure
61:38 like crazy a lot of times they'll still have big Drive areas cuz you can swap
61:42 out like your optical drive bay when they're still really big and use that as
61:46 a drive slot that's true all right assus
61:50 recalls the mg279 Q free sync compatible display
61:57 this was originally posted by Reigns X and the original article is from
62:01 sweclockers um this this display has
62:06 been um oh this is Swedish that makes sense
62:11 okay well at any rate I guess I won't be telling you
62:15 anything while I read it directly off of the not translated for some reason page
62:21 so pretty much the only English sources
62:24 right now are apparently forums so that was actually right in my notes on the
62:27 topic uh apparently the display skips every sixth frame mostly visible during
62:34 smooth motion at a constant speed which makes sense um it creates hiccups and
62:39 they are withdrawing all mg279 qes from the sales Channel all dissatisfied
62:44 customers should contact support early next week the issue should be possible
62:48 to correct with a new firmware but they need to be returned to the factory to
62:52 update with specialized equipment this is something that I legitimately don't
62:56 understand why is it that mon monitor manufacturers are afraid to provide
63:01 firmware update support on them we're allowed to update the firmware on our
63:06 motherboards we can even update firmware on graphics cards if we want that
63:10 doesn't Avid warranty which graphics card for more updates I think it does
63:15 but on a monitor I don't really I don't really understand why uh why they can't
63:21 just have like a uh you know a Diagnostics only USB port or better yet
63:25 the USB port that's already on there um
63:29 have like a diagnostic mode or like a switch you can hit or something like
63:32 that it doesn't actually connect really to the monitor yeah I guess that's true
63:37 it's just powered yeah so I mean fine
63:40 then come up with a different way I don't care I mean I yeah just some way
63:46 to do it that would be cool enough monitors are coming out now like you saw
63:50 the um what was that stupid the first
63:53 free sync monitor available first free
63:56 sync was it AO ISO I can never remember how you're supposed to pronounce it uh
64:02 the first free sync monitor for sale but basically it came
64:07 without freesync support and relied on a firmware update I I can't I can't I
64:12 can't remember who it was uh ocuk it
64:15 appears yeah so it required a firmware update once it was released I'm sitting
64:19 here going well why don't you just why don't you just actually give us the
64:23 ability to update the firmware of this yeah I I wasn't saying it's not doable I
64:28 just they can't do it through their current USB setup y CU it's just like
64:31 you're 100% right which is the best kind of right yeah Tesla now selling used
64:37 electric cars posted by tangra on the Forum original article here's from The
64:42 Wall Street Journal we kind of already talked about this well yeah but you only
64:45 intro it there's not really much else to say
64:50 so pretty much these are going to be cars that are coming off of lease and
64:54 they are going to sell them
65:00 online is there anything else we can say it's cool they're like they're certified
65:04 pre-owned or whatever which is cool uh I don't think there's really a huge
65:10 discount on a lot of them I checked out the Vancouver one not like I was going
65:13 to actually buy one just cuz I was interested it's still way out of my
65:17 price range by a lot but anyways I was
65:20 just interested cuz I was like Hey cuz you and me were talking about how the
65:24 only way we'd probably ever get something like a Tesla as if it was used
65:27 and way older than it is now um so I was like hey okay where's the landscape now
65:34 still way too far away for both of us
65:38 unfortunately um but like the discount
65:41 was not that high but then part of the problem is the ones being uh sold as
65:46 used on the Vancouver Market will have like 5,000 clicks really that's it what
65:51 are people doing with them that's my point I don't know and I'm like why is
65:55 this even here it's barely left the lot and I'm like okay well of course there's
65:59 no huge discount this thing has barely been driven like where's the one with
66:04 like that dude that drives like crazy and racked up like a 100,000 clicks
66:09 already yeah that drives like an hour and a half to work and then charges his
66:13 car and then drives home every day yeah where is that guy I guess he doesn't
66:16 have a Tesla he hasn't resold it guess he's like he's a he's a working Schmo
66:21 and uh can't afford a Tesla unfortunately yeah so I the Vancouver
66:25 Mar is a little bit starving right now I didn't do a ton of research apparently I
66:29 think Nick checked out more like the the like San Fran one and stuff like that
66:34 which will'll have way more apparently there's stuff in the program available for between $60 to $90,000 which is
66:39 definitely less than a new model S um but still going to be out of a lot of
66:43 people's price range and they are putting a warranty on it so the certified pre-owned ones are going to
66:47 have uh 4year or 50,000 mile warranties
66:50 on them which would last four years for your dude over there yeah yeah seriously
66:57 oh um it's currently only available in 11 US cities apparently and uh the cars
67:02 are coming from display models and or oh could be a display model oh so test
67:07 drives could be test drives oh so there
67:10 you go see that makes a ton of sense all right so yeah I don't really know what
67:16 else to say about selling used cars it's cool but it's not like I don't know I
67:19 mean to put this in perspective more like the kind of car that I've been
67:23 shopping for lately is like a be van for
67:26 lonus Media Group I was I was I was literally seeing
67:30 if I could buy a van for like a few thousand and I found I found a uh I
67:35 found a 2002 Honda Odyssey for $3,200
67:39 with $85,000 clicks on it or something like
67:42 that van are expensive is it minivan minivan no van vans in general the
67:47 $3,200 I thought that was pretty good that's pretty that's a lot of mileage
67:50 it's a lot of mileage good but it's a lot of mileage but considering that
67:53 it'll basically get driven to from the
67:56 office or not yeah we wouldn't use it much yeah
68:02 yeah so I was thinking cuz I don't want something expensive I want something
68:05 like super craptastic that I don't even have to lock the doors but you can throw
68:09 a bunch of junk in it whenever we need to move probably have to lock the doors
68:12 because with my car I'm really not worried about people stealing it um it's
68:16 a manual for one thing which is apparently a huge theft deter in North
68:19 America and for number two it's like not
68:23 useful for Smash and grab it has no cargo cap whereas a lot of people steal minivans
68:27 so they can smash and grab interesting I had no idea that's sense it makes a ton
68:32 of sense and because there's so many minivans on the road like stuff like a
68:35 Dodge Caravan for example is a prime target because it's like yeah there's a
68:40 missing vehicle it's a you know red Dodge Caravans like okay well there's a
68:44 lot of those crap ton of them and because there's so many it's probably
68:47 pretty well documented on how to break into them y yep so all all that kind of
68:52 stuff so we might actually have to worry about you know not having that we park
68:55 it inside I was just going to say we can park it in it's not like we're going to fill the whole thing yeah because for
68:59 those of you who are wanting to see what the new LMG headquarters is looking like
69:04 if you snagged a vessel membership back when we uh announced the free ones
69:09 during the first few days then it's already up on vessel we have a tour of
69:13 the new office and if you haven't then that's going to be coming to YouTube
69:16 very very soon and it'll give you a really good look at the New lonus Media
69:21 Group HQ which I personally think is awesome and I think is a good opport for
69:25 us to jump into um the feedback on the
69:29 most recent video that we launched on vessel have you the com some guy just
69:34 posted in the chat Lon you can buy our old Chrysler for, 1500 bucks 89k miles
69:41 89,000 miles yeah but miles you're probably in the states it's going to be
69:45 a nightmare getting that card here oh yeah no good thank you though I really I
69:49 sincerely appreciate the offer um but I
69:54 I really vehicle not a good idea
69:57 especially when you're in that low of price it's not going to be worth it yeah
70:01 thank you though can't say can't say
70:05 thank you enough um but no thanks that's
70:09 also, 1500 us oh yeah which would legitimately turn
70:13 into a lot more once you move it to Canadian all right so let's go ahead and
70:19 let's um let's let's uh let's fire up you know it's really funny
70:24 because we got so many complaints about
70:28 not doing unboxings anymore back when we killed them and we did an unboxing the
70:34 other day and the the N okay a that's
70:38 not very many likes and B the amount of hate on the
70:44 unprofessionalism of the video is uh so
70:48 there's like there's some people that like it but here we go this feels less
70:52 professional than usual here's someone that likes
70:57 it um bad
71:00 sound uh this is very disrespectful rude
71:04 and unprofessional disrespectful wow
71:07 um what what else we got whoa I think you should remove the video from here
71:12 and present your excuses to your fans and followers and to factual design stop
71:16 rushing wow um
71:20 okay uh
71:25 so like some people like it some people are like yeah he's um you know who cares
71:34 this guy's like yeah they're almost always why was this unboxing so ghetto
71:38 and unprofessional was it more ghetto and unprofessional than it it normally is
71:44 like the one guy complained about sound we should still have good sound even if
71:47 it's a I thought it was it was fine I mean there was some winds I was wearing
71:50 a lav so like that's kind of life sometimes you guys could put a wind sock on a lav no but I was wearing it in my
71:55 my shirt like it's not that bad um so yeah I don't know we we thought we were
72:00 like I haven't I haven't watched it I thought we were like doing the right I
72:03 thought we were doing the right thing you know like hey let's bring back
72:06 unboxing a while wait till it hits YouTube and kind of have to feel it out
72:10 a little bit more and whatnot but yeah what's the title of it but with that
72:14 said I mean the vessel audience is in some ways going to be like sort of the
72:19 the die hards yep the guys that don't miss a video even if the video is called
72:24 hey we're launching on a new platform as opposed to heyy here's a hot new product
72:28 you might actually give two cares about um so yeah I I don't know I was just I
72:33 was quite taken aback yeah got a lot of
72:36 people saying like yeah it was it was bad it was terrible in fact the entire
72:39 twitch chat has uh has pretty much has pretty much exploded with people saying
72:44 like it was great or it was like super stupid it was super terrible and um so I
72:50 don't know I don't know maybe we'll bring back unboxings as like a a a
72:54 regular or even once in a while thing um
72:57 I don't I don't know I don't know I mean the reality of it is um unboxings are a
73:03 good way for us to address a product like the defin s where I could have done
73:08 a full review Luke could have done a full review but the cold hard truth is
73:12 it's the Define R5 the full review wouldn't have taken much more time than
73:16 the unboxing it's a Define R5 with no front door and no Drive cages in the
73:22 front and more water cooling radiator spots sort of because the Define R5 has
73:26 them you just have to pull out the cages that would have been the review what
73:30 else am I supposed to say the the the the thing like the fact of the matter
73:34 here is we've got we'll have people complain about us glossing over this
73:38 product but then we're going to have people complain or worse yet simply not
73:43 watch the video when we do like a proper
73:47 more professional review as opposed to just goofing around and having some fun
73:51 with it on a product that just isn't very interesting so I don't know and
73:56 when you get to we've discussed this but not with necessarily this terminology
74:00 when you get to masterful levels in product tiers like we kind of have in
74:05 certain ways with phones where like you're you're outpacing what people need
74:09 or want other than freaking batteries but anyways that's he means the product
74:14 not our reviewing technique yeah yeah yeah so when the to clarify we're
74:19 basically masters of reviewing so everyone just needs to not what I meant
74:22 at all calm their boobies down bad my bad my b um so basically when the
74:27 iterations become much less interesting it's hard to make an interesting 5 to 7
74:31 Minute video every time and sometimes it's actually kind of better to just be
74:36 like look these two things are different
74:39 this is a general idea of the product you're welcome there you go all
74:44 right people have been demanding a straw pole the straw pole is here um got
74:49 people making good points if it's not that interesting why unbox it well some
74:53 people are still going to want to see it it's a fractal product I still don't
74:56 mind showing it to you guys it's not a bad case in fact there's some really
75:00 good things about it I personally don't think that many people need more than
75:04 five mounting points for drives I've actually and I think you have too
75:07 struggled with certain ideas where we want to show you guys something but it
75:11 would only take 30 seconds to show it to you so how do we do that because if we
75:15 release a 30 second video I mean there's a uh I mean there's
75:21 the possib I mean what I've done with stuff like that in the past is the handy
75:25 Tech series is an interesting way of tackling that where we do we often come
75:30 up with ways and we make it work but like that's that is a legitimate problem
75:33 but it's funny because if we pad the content people complain and if we make a
75:38 a short piece like I did what I called I think I called it like a micro review
75:42 for the Moto E which was again a product I didn't think was particularly
75:46 interesting but was relevant from the perspective of you know someone who's
75:50 doesn't have a lot of money and is shopping for a phone um so I did what I
75:54 called a micro review and then we get people complaining that the content to
75:59 uh sponsor spot ratio is not good and I'm kind of sitting here going who cares
76:04 who actually cares it's at the end of
76:08 the video you don't have to keep watching we we do that out of
76:12 consideration for you guys and it's it's not a better video if we just write it
76:18 to be longer and put in filler it's it's
76:21 not a better video If there's no point to the cont that were staying it doesn't
76:25 make it better and like I would make the argument that for something like the Define s the point was the voyage of
76:31 Discovery I mean that's what people claim to have always liked about the unboxings that we did was this is the
76:36 first time I'm seeing it and here's the here's the process um I mean a lot of
76:40 the complaints about it are about apparently the way that I handled the case you know how I handled the case I
76:46 lifted it up to shake it to demonstrate that something had come loose inside and
76:51 the side panel came off because the screws had come out
76:55 did I handle that case poorly who handled that case
76:58 poorly not him that's the answer to that
77:02 question so and people are like upset oh he's throwing it around I never threw it
77:06 around I dropped the side panel because the side panel screws came out because
77:11 the captive nubbins on it make it so that only a tiny bit of the threading
77:15 goes into the side panel so which is something that is
77:22 actually really really hard to capture that's actually an interesting Point that's really hard to capture in a
77:26 professional review because when he takes that side panel off it's not going
77:30 to be filmed the first time um and it's
77:34 not going to end up really making it in the video and then if he claims like oh the side panel came off because the
77:38 screws are short then some people will not necessarily believe him blah blah
77:41 blah blah but with that said no one would ever open up a case by shaking it
77:44 you know if they were buying it for themselves and I would make a decision
77:49 when but there's always there's there's always going to be The Accidental clumsy
77:53 where they bump something or trip on on something and like later on if they're carrying their computer around and their
77:57 buddy like slops them on the shoulder and it's like hey man and the side panel
78:00 falls off like I don't know yeah it seems pretty unlikely I mean I think I
78:05 think far what I would probably do when I'm writing that script is I would go
78:08 okay am I actually going to encounter this problem
78:13 if I'm buying the seen the uning taking it apart yeah no I shake it around a
78:17 fair bit so if I buy the case I take the side panels off I put them in the in the
78:21 Box safely while I you know build my computer in it no I'm not so not going
78:25 to mention that but it is something that probably should have been addressed
78:30 they should have had a longer screw anyway the point is it's just stop
78:34 spoiling the video's it's just an unboxing it's the
78:38 the the only entertaining thing about the video is just hey here's a video I
78:42 talk about the product it's kind of entertaining I hope um all right so
78:46 let's go ahead and what the straw oh um
78:51 so somewhere around
78:54 so the wow audience wants somewhere between 77 and
78:59 94% in favor of unboxings with that said they don't get
79:05 the kind of viewership that our proper reviews do um so for me I like I see it
79:09 as a way of as a way of covering products that I think are interesting enough to make a video but not
79:13 interesting enough to spend the hours and hours and hours and hours and hours
79:16 involved in making one of our normal videos which is why we selected the one we did to be completely honest so let's
79:22 see maybe we'll we'll try it a couple more times or we'll see how the Define
79:26 S1 goes when we launch it on YouTube and stuff like that what
79:31 about yep um I think we should just try that rather than pulling them about it
79:35 we'll just see how it goes um there was
79:38 another topic I wanted to hit just now Nintendo is apparently working on a
79:42 theme park yeah so they're joining forces with Universal Parks and Resorts
79:47 this is the first ever attractions based Nintendo thing and there's no other info
79:54 um and that's the actual logo yeah that's at all horrible that's for a game
79:58 I own it it's actually pretty good um okay so yeah so this is if you have
80:04 friends the article is pretty much pure speculation uh it was posted on the
80:08 Forum by notional and I would go I would
80:12 go I would go to this versus Disneyland oh 100% I think in terms of relevance to
80:16 my childhood I would be so scared to go though cuz the
80:20 merch oh the merch oh my financials yeah well that's
80:25 exactly it I mean Nintendo for Our Generation I think Nintendo is actually
80:29 has so much bigger than more relevance than Disney yeah um I mean I'm just
80:34 trying to think like Disney does a really good job with the princesses with the with the the young
80:40 the little girl demographic what do they have for the guys they got they got
80:45 cars um which cars is crap movie no oh
80:49 that was like that was like merched like
80:52 cars everything no no but is cars like a
80:56 guy specific thing um it's a guy technically yeah I think cars you could
81:01 be a girl and be interested in race cars yeah you could but I think that's not
81:04 when they when lesser percentage when they sat down and they had a planning
81:07 meeting for the demographic they're targeting I don't think little girls it
81:11 was was it um so not frozen so yeah so
81:15 not frozen like what targets what targets little boys
81:20 Aladdin Aladdin was never really merched in the way that something like a car or
81:25 and it's old any of their new stuff I don't really know back in the
81:30 day Aladdin people saying cars is Pixar
81:33 Pixar's owned by Disney
81:37 um they own Star Wars yeah they own Star Wars but that's not I've got someone
81:42 saying cars is a great movie I'm sorry but cars has Owen Wilson in
81:46 it I still think you should do your movie nothing with Owen
81:50 Wilson in column does contain
81:54 also falls into column is great movie a movie rating database like just a
82:00 database that automatically rates movies based on like contains Al anyone brings
82:05 up that Marley and Me atrocity I don't even want to talk to that person ever
82:10 again to story okay yeah but Toy Story was very poorly
82:14 merched yeah did did you ever like that's true there was there was some
82:18 would like Toy Story was and that was pre- Disney ownership by the way so Toy
82:23 Story was was a Pixar project that
82:27 seemed like they just it was pre-commercial yeah like they they used
82:31 actual toys other than uh Buzz Light ear and Woody so the only merch deal would
82:38 be things like bed spreads and stickers
82:42 did they even really sell Woody and Buzz much not much as far as I'm I remember
82:47 being a kid and being like the first time I ever saw a Buzz Lightyear toy I
82:51 was like whoa you can get those yeah
82:55 like it wasn't it wasn't like a oh I see these everywhere it didn't have the
82:59 Disney Juggernaut merchandising meile you can buy like bow and arrow sets from
83:06 The Hunger Games or whatever and like B you can buy whatever you want for new
83:10 ones like Frozen has everything you could possibly want Frozen was such a
83:14 huge Commercial Success you know they're working on the sequel now right yeah yeah so they've brought back uh some of
83:19 the some of the same folks um I'm stoked for it I'm going to watch it um Frozen
83:23 was good the Olaf dude the dude that runs the shop in the
83:26 mountains oh that's the Snowman what yeah oh oh no okay so you
83:31 me the Swedish guy right the Swedish guy yes so cool I love that guy he made the
83:36 whole movie for me anyways keep going um
83:39 where what were we yeah I don't know like I don't get it anyway so yeah Nintendo theme park I would go I would
83:44 take my kids there because it would have a lot more relevance to me it would be a lot more interesting to me it wouldn't
83:48 just be like and they'd still have fun yeah and they would still have fun
83:52 there's rides do they care chines do Mickey Mouse versus Mario Mickey Mouse
83:57 versus Mario how is that not in a fighting game
84:01 yet apparent apparently rayu might be coming
84:06 to uh Smash Brothers the whole it's so inbred now
84:12 like when are we going to get a stormtrooper in Smash Brothers that would be awesome matter of time absolute
84:17 matter of time like it just gets to the point where you add so many characters it's like completely imbalanced and it
84:22 doesn't and no one even cares anymore it's just like we oh people will care
84:26 there's a really hardcore smash Community I know that people will care
84:30 but like most people won't care if it's
84:33 something as cool as like we put Darth Vader and Smash Brothers one thing that
84:37 I like about smash a Darth Vader Angry Bird there's the people that care and
84:41 there's very specific like crossover of crossover sorry Angry Bird oh my god
84:47 um that would be so ridiculous um there
84:51 there's enough like fine control and specific things that there's people that can care and there's stuff in the game
84:55 that caters to them which is super cool but it's also so General and easy to
85:00 pick up that random people can just play still have a good time unless they're
85:03 playing against those people in which case the hardc it's ridiculous yes
85:08 anyways we have lost we have lost so many live viewers since I've like
85:13 stopped talking about topics we've lost like 300 well we're like done are we is
85:18 there anything else EVGA is releasing ddr4 memory apparently and DDR3 memory I
85:23 see enhanced is coming to GTA 5 soon so that's going to be interesting cuz
85:27 everyone's going to get banned unless they pirate it I guess so more game
85:32 developers giving people more reasons to Pirate things super cool has a black
85:40 PCB evidently carefully selected chips
85:43 that's good sounds delicious if they
85:46 didn't carefully select chips there might be a Dorito on your RAM yep Dorito
85:52 memory they should sell someone should sell like specifically not carefully
85:57 selected chips RAM they used to so there's a chance that when you order it
86:01 in the mail you just get a bag of Doritos but they're super cheap so it's
86:05 like a lottery I was trying to have a real you know like how in games you can
86:08 like buy a key to open the box and you get something random so it's like that
86:11 with Real World products so there's like a 50% chance you get a bag of chips and
86:15 there's a 50% chance you get RAM but it's
86:19 55% of the cost of the actual item so
86:22 this is back when they used to actually do that this is an article from legit
86:26 reviews from back in 2005 this was uh wow almost to the day
86:32 10 years ago um I'm old holy crap I
86:36 can't believe I remember this so uh UT memory I's were actually based on the
86:42 famous throwaway stuff wind Bond bh5 no
86:45 no they were they were not throwaway um they were like they were they were they
86:50 were like working chips so so basically some bh5 dies got like found somewhere
86:57 um and pretty much what happened was uh
87:01 ocz bought a whack ton of them and released them as VX modules voltage
87:06 extreme because the chips weren't see I
87:09 can't remember exactly what it means okay after they were packaged they were
87:13 not speed bined utt stands for untested
87:16 memory ic's they were based off old wind Bond Die revisions no one found them
87:20 someone apparently legitimately obtained them so ocz released their gold VX
87:27 modules and pretty much because they weren't speed bin in any way and they
87:31 weren't sorted you had to pump VX stood for voltage extreme you had to pump like
87:37 obscene amounts of voltage through them but because they were based on the
87:41 famous bh5 which were some of the best most famous overclocking memory ever um
87:47 they could still overclock really well if you just fed enough voltage to them the problem was that they would die at
87:52 some point so there you go so this pretty good article
87:56 apparently mushkin had some Redline memory like sick like 2226 timings at
88:02 3.3 to 3 and2 volts and a big sign on it
88:06 that says active cooling required this is like back in the wild west of like PC
88:11 Hardware it's just like yeah anything goes forget JD specifications we're
88:16 going we're going full on UT and you know what I mean back when the back when
88:21 the signals were running at much lower frequencies there was less cross talk
88:24 there was less complexity in the trace designs um back then this kind of stuff
88:29 could actually fly these days I don't
88:33 even recommend um I I don't even I don't even
88:37 recommend overclocking memory anymore I recommend putting it in your system at
88:42 the speed that it's supposed to run at and leaving it because it doesn't make a
88:45 difference to Performance anymore anyway I mean this was back in the days when
88:49 you were accessing memory over the front side bus so you would like over the snot
88:54 out of that and you needed high speed memory in order to stay in sync like
88:59 maintaining a one:1 ratio was like a big deal because all of a sudden you were
89:03 wasting fewer clock cycles and there was less latency like ah yeah and uh that's
89:09 when that kind of stuff was fun that was when that kind of stuff actually made an
89:12 ounce of sense these days overclocking memory just gets you random crashes
89:17 every once in a while and higher temperature memory yeah so there you go
89:23 yeah anyways um that was a fun show yeah so I
89:29 guess that's pretty much it thank you guys very much for tuning in apparently
89:32 people didn't like my RAM Lottery idea your RAM Lottery idea I wasn't even
89:37 listening to you I literally have no idea what you're talking about okay all
89:41 right well thank you guys for tuning in we'll see you again next week same bat
89:45 Time same bat channel did people not
89:49 understand it yeah I had someone tweet me what do you mean same bad time same
89:52 bad Channel what's wrong with the time and channel bat like Batman it's like
89:55 the old 70s Batman so that made me feel old too just all about the feeling old
90:00 today the best part is he's not actually that old I'm I feel old you're not
90:04 technically old enough to have seen that though that's true I'm old enough that
90:08 it was rerun on TV though I've I watched
90:11 it on YTV but obviously but doesn't YTV do the like super old school rerun
90:16 things I'm willing to bet they don't still rerun that like I'm willing to bet
90:19 their super old reruns are like Bobby's World now no you know yeah yeah right
90:26 because I've seen it
90:29 yeah okay oh it broke oh it didn't all
90:34 right people are asking for an after party but my back is swe so yeah and I
90:40 have a question from Ken about a
90:43 video
90:52 um next time Tesla cently the model 3 will be
90:56 unveiled next march interesting h i
91:00 don't believe rumors anymore I'll wait till it's
91:04 unveiled sponsors remember if you use all
