welcome to my unboxing of yes I have already done a Galaxy GeForce GTX 670
0:12
unboxing but I'm about to do another one because this is a non reference GTX 670
0:17
so this one uses the reference design PCB which is the short PCB with the long
0:23
cooler the uh the blower cooler that exhausts the air out the back and this
0:27
guy is slightly different so although the spec X are pretty similar this one
0:32
is slightly overclocked so it's at 1
0:36
GHz this one's overclocked right yeah it's overclocked factory overclocked to
0:40
just over 1 GHz still using 6 GHz memory
0:44
just like the GTX 670 and the GTX 680 before it includes all the usual
0:49
features such as the new txaa modes which give you the same look
0:54
as as older types of anti-aliasing with
0:58
a lesser performance hit also includes
1:01
um GPU boost which dynamically adjusts the clock speed of your GPU according to
1:05
how much thermal headro as well as power headro is available to it adaptive vsync
1:10
which gives you the best of both worlds in terms of whether your frame rate is
1:14
above your refresh rate it'll turn on vsync and then if it falls below then it
1:17
turns vsync off to optimize your performance also is very very power
1:21
efficient especially considering that it's a high-end GPU uh which is
1:26
something that you know in in in Generations past was not really a
1:31
priority for the you know the two big GPU makers out there and I'm sure you
1:34
guys know who I'm talking about and looks like I never brought my test bench
1:38
in here so I can't hold up my 8800 Ultra but that was uh definitely an example of
1:43
performance at any cost compared to what we're seeing these days with these power
1:47
efficient high performance graphics cards we've got a couple of dual Molex
1:52
to six pin PCIe connectors power connectors as well as a DVI to VGA
1:56
adapter a users manual and installation guide as well well as a graphics drivers
2:02
DVD is included with this card did I
2:06
miss any features probably it has 2 gigs of memory
2:10
1,344 Kuda cor a 256-bit memory
2:13
interface making it a very high-end card
2:17
compared to what we normally see in terms of how cut down the step down from
2:21
the flagship single GPU card is so for example on the GTX 570 we saw a clock
2:26
speed reduction and we've got a clock speed reduction here although a fairly
2:30
less significant one especially for these Factory overclocked cards so we've
2:34
got a clock speed reduction we've got a decrease in the number of cacor but
2:40
um okay I guess that's probably oh yeah right right right right right whereas
2:43
with previous generation products we also saw decreases in the memory
2:47
frequency for example uh and I think that pretty much covers it GPU
2:53
boost right right three plus1 displays are supported with NVIDIA 3D Vision
2:58
surround or just regular surround and then an auxiliary display we've got dual
3:02
DVI output HDMI as well as DisplayPort
3:06
we've also got support for 4K monitors and HDMI 1.4a which means you got your
3:10
3D and all that good stuff and this is
3:14
about as non reference as a cooler gets so we've got actually some really cool
3:18
branding elements going on here so GeForce GTX 670 Kepler that is the code
3:22
name you normally never see the code name on a final product like that so I
3:27
think that's kind of a nice touch this is also oh this is metal shroud so we've
3:30
got an aluminum shroud around 2 92 mm
3:33
cooling fans on a very very nice looking
3:37
heat sink r a radiator style heat sink so it's got four heat pipes you can see
3:42
the copper base of it right in there with the four heat pipes coming out this
3:46
is a 2 gig card so uh let me see y all
3:49
the memory is installed on the other side it looks like this is actually
3:53
using what PCB design is this
3:56
using huh cool so I did didn't know that
4:00
this wasn't going to be a reference PCB and you can see how different they are
4:03
I'm going to prop this one up right here okay so there's a reference PCB which is
4:07
this short galaxy has seriously beefed this
4:12
thing up compared to the reference design card so they've moved the power
4:16
delivery back over to this side whereas NV video on their reference card put it
4:20
over here they have just seriously amped
4:24
up the cooling involved I mean the uh
4:27
the aluminum cooling portion I I don't know if you're going to be able to see
4:30
it you know you guys aren't going to be able to see it but on the reference card it's you know about yay big whereas on
4:35
this card you can see that it is about yay big and then they have um they have
4:40
also added a six pin and 8 Pin PCIe
4:44
power connector compared to the Dual six pins that were on the reference card and
4:48
I don't remember oh right right because I was confused look at this they've
4:51
actually added like ventilation holes in
4:55
the PCB and I can show you why they've done that because you can see some of the power delivery components over here
5:00
have gaps very small gaps I'm going to try and get you guys a better angle here
5:04
very small gaps between these guys and this allows air flow to go over them
5:09
more naturally than if there if than if it was just a straight A straight dead
5:13
stop for the air and it didn't really have anywhere to go so that's really cool I haven't seen that
5:19
before very neat okay so let's move on uh does support multi-way SLI
5:23
configurations hence the two SLI connectors up at the top and it's got
5:28
just a very sort of neat look to it little Galaxy like line squiggly thing
5:31
going on over here I already mentioned we've got the uh six pin and 8 Pin PCIe
5:36
connectors this is a completely non-reference card I would expect this to run significantly cooler than the
5:41
reference design which isn't to say that the GTX 570 isn't a cool running card
5:46
already but when you've got two 92 mm fans as opposed to one what is that a 60
5:50
mil 70 mil fan then you can expect it to run quieter run cooler however the
5:56
caveat is that you need to make sure you have a case with decent air flow because
5:59
because this guy isn't going to exhaust all of the air out the back of your
6:04
computer whereas this one will so some of the exhausted air that cooled the GPU
6:08
is going to stay inside your case as long as you have lots of case fans you
6:12
should still be fine so I think that pretty much covers it thank you for
