0:05 now I love Twitter as much as the next YouTuber for interacting with viewers
0:09 but it lacks that same Personal Touch that you can get from a voice
0:13 conversation and so began our epic
0:16 search for the ultimate voice chat client that would serve our needs both
0:20 from a gaming perspective as well as allowing us to enable live voice callers
0:27 on the W show our weekly live stream
0:58 we looked at conventional gaming voice chat clients such as Mumble and
1:02 ventrillo but what we realized is they don't really have friends which makes us
1:07 Kindred Spirits I suppose but doesn't really help us manage the live
1:11 interaction aspects of things it doesn't give us that same degree of flexibility
1:15 they also mostly require hosting and managing a server which if you've seen
1:20 the uptime of Linus tips.com you probably have some idea that we don't
1:24 want to do uh too much more of that
1:30 they can also take a while for people to set up which isn't really great for a
1:34 spontaneous live viewer Callin experience and having it be as seamless
1:38 as possible they also lack game overlay functionality so if you were to use
1:42 these on an ongoing basis besides just calling into the WAN Show
1:49 then so then we were like oh yeah Skype
1:52 skype's good for voice calling but that was a total mess you can have group
1:57 chats but if the leader leaves then the whole thing shuts down the overlays are
2:02 clickable which means that particularly from a gaming perspective yeah that will
2:06 kill you and last but not least there's the fact that on Skype there's an
2:10 exploit that allows the other callers to get your IP which even whether you're
2:15 streaming in the middle of streaming if someone starts dosing you or just for
2:18 anyone in general having people know your IP is an undesirable condition
2:24 so yeah no enter razor comms the friends
2:30 list is easy to manage and you may already even have a Razer account so you
2:33 can sign right in and you're pretty much ready to go you don't have to have a
2:37 dedicated server razor hosts everything so you can avoid having an awkward sort
2:41 of totally not recommended server running in your bathroom overlays are
2:46 helpful and not death inducing and last but not least chat rooms are permanent
2:50 and coming and going from them is a breeze it's so easy you just take one
2:53 hand and Chop Chop Chop
2:58 Chop so guys if you want want to check out Razer comms no it's not going to
