0:00 welcome to rog reboot episode one our
0:03 first winner here is josh he had a very simple request
0:10 i mean especially in retrospect it seems like this is the kind of
0:14 thing that should be pretty doable
0:18 he wanted a white and blue
0:21 gaming computer and we got the gaming computer we got the rog gtx 1080 ti
0:28 we got the core i7 7700k we got water
0:32 cooling up the bananas but the case is black this is my peace
0:37 offering can you live with a balls to the wall
0:40 gaming computer that's not white
0:44 and that i dropped pieces of i think so
0:47 good let's get started then
1:00 the ASUS rog strix 1080 ti features
1:03 rsync RGB lighting with a plethora of colors and the ability to synchronize
1:08 effects across the ecosystem of rsync enabled products learn more at the link
1:13 below your video
1:16 pretty short pretty sweet had one of my friends help me write a script and then
1:21 grab my sister and said hey will you help me with this
1:24 that's a little awkward not like that
1:29 have you ever gamed on a machine of the caliber of what we're building today
1:33 never huh see i get so disconnected from this
1:36 stuff sometimes i just like kind of take it for granted so man have you ever
1:41 built a computer before no i should know that because the last
1:45 desktop you had was what 10 years ago yep you don't even have a desktop we did
1:49 at one point but i might have broken it
1:53 well that's a little awkward are you gonna break the one i build today no not
1:56 at all it's not even just a little bit broken nope let's try oh okay so you got
2:01 you had a desktop but we're talking it was like a
2:05 a pentium 4 or something is ancient yeah
2:08 okay got it yeah i feel old
2:12 we're off to a good start okay so how much of the building do you
2:16 want to do versus how much of the building do you want to be like like
2:19 when i would help my dad with carpentry um i'd like to do at least a good part
2:25 of it okay a good part of it all right i'll pick the best part okay so the best
2:30 part here hold the screwdriver and hand it to me when i'm ready for it so we're
2:33 gonna open up our power supply silver box right there
2:37 yes i know it's not it's not light or blue
2:41 that's okay like it's 80 plus titanium efficiency
2:45 which is like bananas bananas yeah
2:50 bananas are good they have lots of potassium yeah
2:57 we have these also not white and blue
3:01 cables from cable mud but they'll look really good don't worry
3:04 it's okay i don't really care at all that there's no white case i just think
3:08 it's funny that Linus uh takes it so
3:11 personally that there's no white case
3:17 i don't know if i can work under these conditions 10 points if you can find the
3:21 motherboard and the massive pile of awesome hardware that you're getting today
3:26 nice 10 points perfect you leveled up it's like the beginning
3:30 of a game where like you actually don't do anything you just like look in the
3:34 right direction and it's like 25 xp you're level two now yeah yeah it's it's
3:38 like that boom see if you installed you can pull that off okay there you go
3:43 hold on to that if you ever had to if
3:46 like let's say you legitimately had something devastating happen to your
3:50 board like critical functionality like the RGB wasn't working quite right if
3:54 you sent it back to them without that cover and the pins get damaged now
3:57 that's physical damage it's pricked
4:01 okay you want me to do that right now sure okay i mean you don't have to i
4:05 can't force you to do anything like you could just leave
4:08 i could but i won't so there you go
4:12 at first you didn't cut it but then you got it yes now you don't got it
4:16 that is true
4:20 um okay so that looks pretty good so far next stage is we actually move on to the
4:26 not white but still very good case
4:29 look i'm showing you how to build the computer i can see it in your eyes
4:33 you're super disappointed it's not white i'm just
4:37 getting really tired of how much pressure you're putting on me about the parts not being white i'm sorry i'll
4:42 stop no pressure but this is
4:46 the part where you either kill your motherboard or it's fine oh that's stressful no no it's not
4:51 stressful at all don't worry you know the one funny thing about this though to
4:54 me is that we didn't choose an rog board for the build
4:59 oh white and blue
5:03 you got this okay yeah it always does that it's kind of annoying
5:07 it's like they were determined to have the logo upside down on their water
5:10 cooler in this case all right well i'd recommend tubes up
5:14 because it doesn't run across the graphics card
5:18 so i usually recommend a pole orientation on a radiator you're
5:22 familiar with push-pull pulling yes
5:26 the reason for that is that when you have the fans pulling air this
5:31 way this is really easy to clean you just kind of go like this
5:36 you take some cat hair or whatever and you tuck it in the garbage
5:39 when you turn these around the air goes through this way well now
5:42 you have to take your fans off let's face it the last time you had a desktop
5:46 was 10 years ago this thing could be running for 10 years
5:50 we got to be ready for this stuff okay what matters more to you
5:55 your precious blue color scheme
5:59 or cable management i just need to go get something really
6:03 quick here completely definitely new h100iv2
6:10 that um definitely we didn't pull off the shelf
6:15 uh because our shipment didn't get here in time
6:18 which definitely has nothing to do with why your color scheme isn't right
6:22 definitely isn't missing some of the hardware so i'm definitely not going to go over
6:26 there and get it fantastic
6:31 cooling done and without any mishaps
6:36 whatsoever all right let's do a hard drive
6:41 oh sorry it's in that box i was just getting this one out of your way
6:46 she's like wait that was the motherboard
6:49 i knew that i showed him i knew that
6:54 yeah if it's not going in just force it a little you know
6:57 just give it the old force it so we put right there
7:03 what's he gonna do how's he gonna put it through nope
7:06 nope nope okay
7:10 i think the white goes better with the what's currently inside wow you can't
7:14 just pick a color without taking a shot at me for us not getting it right
7:18 you can't even do that
7:22 and it's time for the graphics card
7:26 so naturally i'm gonna let myself do the honors
7:30 come on be a man open it with your teeth
7:34 be a man open it with your teeth yes you ready
7:39 foam and and a cd
7:45 that's it that's what the highest performance graphics card on the market looks like
7:50 if you'd be gentle GeForce gtx 1080 ti strix overclocked so
7:56 i'm gonna get you to unbox your
8:00 oh nice cherry mx mechanical gaming keyboard
8:03 your mousepad your mouse your monitor
8:08 there you go
8:12 are you wearing your mouse pad yes excellent here we go
8:18 go ahead press the button oh that's a bad sign
8:22 no i'm just kidding i didn't turn the thing on your RGB is lighting up
8:26 so the most important thing about the system is already working which is great
8:30 so we are going straight for static color
8:34 blue wait what
8:37 you have got to be kidding me it's rog everything's red the
8:41 tablecloth's red you just be happy with red
8:45 there we go see
8:48 i told you this was a white and blue themed build
8:52 would i ever lie to you josh never what
8:56 do you plan to do with your new rank i want to run some games probably will buy
9:00 rocket league because i love that game i just play it at my friends houses all
9:04 the time right i also might want to do some video editing and get into that
9:08 more because i'll have something that can run something other than right a
9:12 potato okay so color scheme 5 out of 10
9:16 performance 11 out of 10. 11 out of 10. very good good answer
9:20 building my first gaming pc was pretty difficult
9:24 nah it really wasn't it was pretty simple all right well i'm glad and uh
9:29 thanks for tuning in to rog rig reboot all of you guys out there and a huge
9:34 thanks to josh for entering and why am i thanking you a huge your welcome to josh
