0:00 feels like I've been looking at a lot of Nas units lately but this is one from ly
0:05 which is uh unique in the fact that it is designed by Neil pton like to zoom in
0:11 on that right there this is the network Space 2 and Neil poulton has gone ahead
0:15 and designed a black glossy square box
0:20 that features torrent downloads media streaming and up to 65 megabytes per
0:25 second Ethernet speed you can see they've got it advertised as gigabit
0:28 Ethernet and USB 2 .0 although I'm not sure if it works as a USB 2.0 drive
0:33 right off your comp oh yes it does there you go all right right on the side it
0:37 answers that question so it has USB to connect to a disk key or printer and
0:42 then it also has like a usbb connector there so you can connect it directly to
0:46 a computer and use it as a USB drive instead of a Nas should you so desire
0:51 there's a power button as well as a power
0:54 input plug spot all right so they show
0:57 you how to connect it how to access all of your data anywhere using it and easy
1:02 setup access download files even with your computer off centralize share and
1:05 backup files at home create private accounts for everyone in your household
1:09 which has like four stars on it for some reason I'm not sure why maybe they're
1:13 just saying that you need to you know know how to do it or something all right
1:17 so backup iTunes server remote access eco-friendly it has a 2-year warranty
1:23 okay and then on the other side we've got the Box contents which we will find
1:26 out in just a moment when we open it
1:33 cuz that's what we do on this channel we open
1:37 boxes or unbox product whichever you
1:40 prefer there we are slicey
1:46 slicey ooh very very well packed
1:49 congratulations ly you have shipped a very well packaged product here I like
1:54 this closed cell foam that they're using because it is pretty much
1:58 indestructible I mean look at that you can take it and like drop it and you can
2:03 tell it's just there's no there's no give to it and yet there is it's a very
2:08 nice cushion for your uh for your hard drive I mean the last thing you want to
2:12 see is a hard drive that ships in something that's uh not
2:16 sturdy all right Network Space 2 quick install
2:20 guide this is the guide you will want to use to install it quickly there that's
2:27 the French section already so that was it it was like four pages then we have a
2:31 network Space 2 the 1.0 C utilities CD
2:36 or dvd you might want to go ahead and try that find out if there's anything
2:39 useful on it and if there are uh newer versions on the ly website then go ahead
2:43 and download them and use those instead included we have a very fancy looking
2:47 Ethernet cable see that mirrored finish on the side very nice very nice black
2:52 cable all right then we have a USB A to
2:55 B cable so that's for connecting it directly to your computer as a USB drive
3:00 here we have what appears to be an adapter
3:05 although I don't know if I've seen that standard before all right then there's
3:10 another adapter and then there's the one that I
3:15 need the US adapter okay so hey look at
3:18 that that's kind of neat it ships like International ready already so you just
3:24 go ahead and uh put that on there well
3:27 that's great if you're uh you're planning to travel with it or if you're
3:31 planning to uh live in another country other than the us or Canada and and buy
3:36 one of these it already comes with uh other adors although I don't recognize
3:40 either of these I've seen the ones with uh with the cylindrical prongs I've seen
3:45 some other ones I don't recognize either of those maybe you can tell me what
3:50 country those are for if you're watching this
3:53 video all right here is the network Space 2 so you can see clearly right
3:57 here there's a PCB and that's connected to all of your inputs and outputs so
4:03 there's your gigabit Ethernet there's your USB 2.0 there's a DC power in all
4:09 right and then on the bottom you've got this is kind of a neat way to do this
4:12 all of your uh certifications and branding and whatnot is on little
4:17 rubberized feet which will prevent the network Space
4:22 2 from moving when you put it down on the table you can see it is quite sturdy
4:28 that's not going to move at all so I'm going to go ahead and take
4:32 the plastic off it is extremely shiny so
4:36 you can see my chest mounted tripod cam
4:39 quite easily and we'll do the obligatory finger shot here so you can see just how
4:42 shiny it is it is very square and very
4:48 black well not really Square it's more of a rectangular prism see you've caught
4:54 me on like a holiday so my hair is like messier than usual even and here at the
5:00 front we find the USB port which we can use to plug in a USB thumb drive a
5:03 printer because it does act as a print server and then on the other side we
5:07 find the let see branding so I guess we
5:10 might as well do a quick test with it to find out if their claims of 65 megabytes
5:15 per second are true or false and other
5:18 than that that's all there is to really say about the network Space 2
