0:00 there's a new Challenger in the trash can shaped PC market oh and this is also
0:07 Corsair's first time ever building a
0:11 complete computer system so have they
0:15 done their homework from the looks of
0:20 things yes yes they have
0:33 browse privately and securely with TunnelBear the simple VPN app try tunnel
0:39 bear for free at the link in the video description despite this being Corsair's
0:45 first ever complete PC they went
0:48 straight for the Enthusiast and high-end
0:51 gaming segment though given their pedigree that probably shouldn't come as
0:56 much of a surprise but what they have
1:00 done in what may be a little surprising is that in my opinion they've managed to
1:05 do this without being tacky about it
1:08 there's a fine line between boring
1:11 business computer and over-the-top gamer
1:15 and I feel like the way that Corsair made functional elements also look
1:20 appealing is something that eludes most
1:25 PC industrial design teams even corsairs
1:30 breaking with what has become a standard operating procedure at
1:35 46221 Landing Parkway Fremont they opted
1:38 to not include RGB lighting saying that
1:42 it doesn't go with the Quiet ethos of
1:47 the system and as big an RGB fan as I am
1:50 personally I do have to say that their soft blue lighting scheme which can be
1:56 even disabled outright looks very clean
1:59 and very modern and it's not just Skin
2:02 Deep overall I've got to commend Corsair
2:05 for the topnotch build quality of the one the sound of running your
2:11 fingers along the top of the radiator
2:14 looking metal Grill is satisfying and so
2:18 is running your hands down the uh Tastefully perforated aluminum side
2:23 panels under which you will find a shocking amount of cooling given the
2:29 ones diin ative size the single fan at
2:32 the top of the machine draws air through two water cooling radiators in the one
2:38 meaning that the CPU and GPU each get
2:42 their own slim custom 240 mm rad
2:48 ensuring that you'll get the best possible performance out of even
2:51 top-of-the-line components ours is equipped with a core i7
2:56 7700k that really seems to love hitting its full Turbo at 4.5 GHz and a GTX 1080
3:03 that was able to overclock well over 2.1
3:07 GHz more on performance in a moment the
3:10 I/O is pretty typical desktop grade maybe a little light you'll find a
3:14 single USB type A on the front along with an HDMI 2.0 if VR is your kind of
3:19 thing then around back is PS2 for your model m keyboard enough USBS and
3:26 everything that you'd need for a home theater PC use case as well as a hint
3:31 that the video card installation is a little unusual some additions I would
3:36 have liked to see are front panel audio we don't all have USB headsets Corsair
3:42 and Thunderbolt 3 at the back to test
3:46 thermals we loaded up ITA 64 and furmark
3:50 at the same time and the results were very impressive after an entire hour of
3:56 torture testing the GPU reached a mere
3:59 57° C with the CPU peaking at 80 and
4:03 while I realize 80° might sound a little hot you have to remember that was under
4:08 full synthetic load on the entire system
4:11 at max turbo for a freaking hour it actually takes quite a while to get up
4:16 that high and the great thermals became
4:19 even more apparent when compared to our aircooled test bench with an EVGA
4:24 classified 1080 and a decent if unexceptional knct to nd9 l cooler on
4:30 our equivalent core i7 to get thermal readings we ran each Benchmark seven
4:35 times and recorded the maximum GPU and CPU tempts achieved The Benchmark
4:39 results were almost identical across the board between these two systems but what
4:45 wasn't identical were the temperatures at factory speeds the CPU on the one was
4:50 5 to 10° cooler not that the games were
4:53 really stressing it out that much and the GPU was a chilly 20°
5:00 cooler while maintaining those temperatures the one also stayed
5:03 virtually silent at idol Nick eating green beans on the other side of the
5:08 room was louder than the one sitting right beside me and under load the one
5:13 becomes audible but the pitch of the
5:16 fans makes the machine very easy to tune
5:19 out so then it's all great news right go
5:23 buy a one by two well no ignoring the
5:27 overplayed one name in spite of
5:31 Corsair's long Enthusiast history the one is not officially user upgradeable
5:38 and when talking to Corsair about
5:41 disassembly they basically said like they discouraged end users from doing it
5:47 to avoid voiding their warranty and damaging it and as for us well in short
5:54 guys we put a lot of love into the Corsair one please don't break it
6:00 so of course we took it apart to find out just how complicated it was and of
6:05 course we did break it but just a little
6:08 bit the one is actually very easy to open removing just two screws on either
6:14 side of the top allows you to access the graphics card or the motherboard and CPU
6:21 and reveals a few fun and noteworthy things the video card uses extension
6:27 cables to reach the front and and back
6:30 and features an extra fan to take care of vrm cooling while the radiator is
6:35 responsible for only the GPU core the
6:39 mere 400 watt power supply uses thinner
6:42 gauge custom cables in order to minimize cable clutter and while Corsair did
6:48 include an m.2 slot on the miniitx MSI
6:52 branded motherboard it's actually on the back of the board and they don't offer
6:56 them from the factory so you'll pretty much be stuck with SATA 3 an odd move
7:03 though at least that and RAM are
7:07 relatively easy to get at so bottom line
7:11 then although literally everything in the system is possible to upgrade so A+
7:18 Corsair for using standard components I
7:22 can only recommend removing their cooling solution if you don't care about
7:26 your warranty and you know what you were are doing there are a lot of subtle but
7:32 important bits of engineering that they put into this to make the product work
7:37 as well as it does I mean thankfully for us the lead product designer was able to
7:41 figure out the dumb stuff we had done and get us back up and running in a few
7:44 minutes but since we can't tell our whole audience to call Jimmy from
7:48 Corsair at8 424
7:52 4622 our recommendation for most folks who would buy a pre-built is to air on
7:56 the safe side and let them or an authorized service Center take care of
8:00 it for you but should you buy one how
8:05 much does it cost well ignoring of
8:09 course that this is a very high-end build and therefore doesn't come with a
8:13 Bargain Basement price tag they've actually done a pretty good job of
8:17 keeping the price reasonable building an identically specked system on new EG
8:22 came in about $200 less than the one but
8:26 that machine used a lesser case it obviously doesn't include assembly
8:30 service and any warranty issues will need to be addressed with individual
8:34 component manufacturers leading me then to say this thing is pretty darn sweet
8:40 if you're willing to make the usual expandability compromises that come with
8:46 compact gaming Rigs and you want something that is screaming fast with
8:50 I'd say pretty reasonable wife appeal the Corsair one is an
8:55 outstanding option and you know what else is a great
8:59 option freshbooks if you're a small business owner or a freelancer and you
9:04 want a cloud accounting software you might not even know you want to
9:08 cloudcounting software okay so if you want to get more organized be able to
9:13 send professional invoices in seconds be
