as well as hyperx all right guys welcome to the steel series Suite we're checking
0:12
out the m800 keyboard This is similar to their last Apex and the idea that it has
0:17
the replaceable rubber plug feed on the bottom and a lower and higher profile
0:21
setting it has dual USB hub ports on the back which aren't powered but you'll be
0:25
able to do some minor stuff with them and then other than that there's some
0:29
changes the layout is changed a little bit there's slightly less macro keys but
0:32
that's probably fine cuz you probably weren't using all of them anyways and
0:35
there's individual Lighting on each one of the keys instead of Zone lighting
0:40
like they had before I think there was about five zones before now it's individual lighting everywhere which is
0:44
going to be a lot better they've switched to their own key switch which
0:48
now has 3 mm of total travel distance and a 1.5 mm actuation Point compared to
0:53
cherri's which is 4 mm of total travel distance and a 2mm actuation Point these
0:58
key switches are also rated for 60 million presses and have a fairly
1:01
interesting design as you can probably see on the screen right now one thing
1:05
that you do need to note is that the stem is not a Cherry MX compatible stem
1:09
so you cannot put on Cherry MX key switches custom but it does come with a
1:13
few swappable things so if you want to use it on an Apple computer you can swap
1:16
out for command keys or whatever you want to do in that realm this key switch
1:20
is a linear key switch and the waiting is probably going to be somewhere
1:23
between a red and a black that's what they're telling me right now although I
1:26
don't know the exact waiting specification for that key switch quite
1:30
yet like I said before there's individual key switch lighting there's
1:33
an LED in the middle of the switch which is able to do 16.8 million colors which
1:37
is customizable in their software another thing to note is that the key
1:40
caps themselves are also a lot shorter just like the travel distance so you'll
1:44
notice quite a big difference typing on this keyboard compared to a full-size
1:48
key cap and a cherry travel distance keyboard not necessarily a bad thing
1:52
just a difference thank you for watching this video if you want to see all the rest of our CES content be sure to
