is nci.com hey guys I'm here at the
0:11
transcend booth and while they weren't sure exactly of what new announcements
0:16
they might have for computex I did notice they had server memory modules
0:19
and while we're just over at plexor and I talked about how we used their Drive in our server I thought I would cover
0:23
ECC memory modules so ECC memory modules stands for error correcting code
0:28
function support or ECC kind of drop off the function support there it's just ECC
0:33
basically what that does is as data runs through your RAM it could have errors in
0:37
it and usually the errors aren't big enough for your computer to really care
0:41
if you're just doing like very basic applications but on a server they have
0:44
to really really make sure that everything is very proper maybe one flipped bit on your computer you will
0:49
never notice but in a server you actually might that could be a really
0:52
big deal so they have a correcting modules that will double check
0:55
everything and make sure it's all proper we are running that in our server
0:59
currently we will we were not before and we did actually have some problems with
1:02
our database before we were running ECC memory so if you've been looking at
1:06
memory in the past we're maybe wondering what that little nomenclature was ECC
1:10
stands for error correcting error correcting code I forgot what that last
1:14
word was sorry about that thanks for watching our transcend content if you want to see all of our comex content
