0:08 yet another crazy update from the Crazy Russian laboratory this is and I don't
0:13 know if you guys know this but my original Corsair dream machine in the
0:17 800d which is the same case we have here today is one of my most viewed videos
0:22 ever and that was featuring an x58 platform so that's all old and crappy
0:27 now right so now we have an updated Corsair dream machine Elite this is with
0:32 Intel's latest x79 platform so we're using Aus P9 x79 Pro motherboard we also
0:39 have an Intel Core i7 3930k unlocked
0:43 processor this will be pre-overclocked although the final clock speeds are to
0:47 be determined we want to make sure that whatever clock speed we validate at we
0:51 validate it in a case with the side panel closed to ensure that our
0:55 customers are not going to have any issues with their pre-overclocked machine it also has some other stuff
1:01 that's fairly new as well you know what let's finish up with the outside before
1:04 we get inside so you can see it's got a bit of a blue and black overall color
1:08 schemes other than those two video cards that's two Radeon
1:12 hd7950 so the reason we went with 279
1:16 50s we went with a 3930k we went with 16 gigs of RAM we
1:21 went the pr level motherboard so this is all the highest possible
1:26 performance sort of scaled back one notch with within reason so you're not
1:31 paying that huge premium for getting the Halo Parts like the extreme Edition like
1:36 the uh Republic of Gamers board the 797s but you're getting that sort of 85%
1:43 of the performance at you know 65% of
1:47 the price sort of rule that tends to apply to stuff like that so we've gone
1:50 with an HX 1050 yes the ax is a higher end power supply but this is also fully
1:55 capable of powering a machine like this so it looks great performs great but
2:00 it's going to come in at a price that I don't actually know what the price is
2:03 going to be yet but it'll be hopefully less than you think so why don't we just
2:07 finish up on the outside here so on the outside you guys have seen the 800d
2:10 before we've got a Blu-ray player we've got USB 3 so the 800d has been updated
2:16 to include USB 3 now although the lighting is very terrible here so I
2:20 don't know how good that is in here we find some cool stuff so there's a three
2:23 terab storage Drive hard drives are finally starting to come back down and
2:27 pricing a little bit as well has the latest Intel 520 Series sand Force SSD
2:35 now this is going to be kind of cool guys we're using a different kind of lighting it's fully customizable
2:39 lighting with this system and when I take this off it's actually going to
2:42 unplug one of them so I got to be a little bit careful here but we are using
2:47 these cool there we are these cool LED
2:51 strips from bit Phoenix see here so
2:55 there's LEDs spaced out here you can actually use little adapters to extend
2:59 them them if you want to run longer chains of them see just with these four
3:03 little plugs here that's all you got to do you can actually cut them at the
3:07 pre-marked places so they're marked on the back so you can do little short ones
3:11 here if you want to get some extra lighting there uh these are really
3:14 really cool these are pretty similar to the lean Lee ones that I looked at a little while ago although they are
3:19 somewhat cheaper and there's a wider variety plus they have that extension
3:23 ability which the lean Lee ones did not have so we've got the cable for that
3:27 running through here other than that this is a fairly standard Corsair case
3:32 except for the upgraded fans so we're using Spectre Pro LED fans for the three
3:39 that's three right yeah yeah for the three 120 mil fans in the top we've got
3:43 an h100 cooling the CPU we have a 140 mm
3:47 Spectra Pro fan here and then finally we have another 120 mm here and I don't
3:52 know if they upgraded this one I suspect I did no that's the stock fan that one's
3:55 pretty quiet anyway cuz it has the Shroud on it and you can't see it so it
3:59 doesn't really contrib read anything to the looks I already mentioned the HX
4:02 1050 so you can see the wiring is nice and clean there's almost nothing even
4:06 coming out of the power supply and then we're using the included cable routing
4:09 options in the 800d in order to make things look as clean as possible
4:14 inside now this is something that probably a couple people are going to
4:18 comment on these 7950 are very close together the reason for that is that
4:22 ASUS doesn't include long Crossfire Bridges with these motherboards so it's
4:26 something where if you wanted to Source an aftermarket Crossfire Bridge you could move it down to the bottom PCI
4:31 Express 16x slot either way it's not the end of the world because during gaming
4:35 yes the fans will ramp up no they do not overheat and then when you're idling the
4:41 these cards produce almost no heat at all anyway so it's definitely not an
4:45 issue during just day-to-day usage so yeah it's not perfect but it's a
4:50 solution that we can live with here in the PC laboratory I think that pretty
4:55 much covers it you know I mean we might as well show the overall IO options of
4:59 ailable on this motherboard so we do have Intel
5:05 Ethernet which is cool 4 USB 3.0 ports
5:09 eeta we have their BIOS flashback feature BIOS flashback is cool because
5:14 even though it comes pre-overclocked if you decide to keep tweaking it you will
5:18 and and you run into issues where you corrupt your BIOS or you update the BIOS
5:21 and you corrupt it that way you can actually flash it back just by putting a
5:25 BIOS file on a USB disc putting it into the corresponding Port all this info is
5:29 in your motherboard manual which you'll receive with your system and then you
5:32 can reflash the BIOS just like that so that's actually really cool as well now
5:37 there was something that I was sure I wanted to
5:40 mention oh yeah okay well there's obviously the fact that while this is
5:43 sort of not quite Balls to the walls you know 16 gigs instead of 32 gigs of RAM
5:48 79 50s instead of 797s no extreme Edition it can be upgraded to add all of
5:54 those parts and the Aesthetics will still be awesome last thing I want you
5:57 guys to see is actually the turned on you can you can see the brightness of
6:01 these LEDs up there so I think that's
6:04 cool can you see that yeah it's like almost like too bright like if I like
6:08 cover here a little bit maybe I don't know I don't know how to like show how
6:12 bright they are without like blinding the camera so thank you for checking out
6:15 this PC laboratory update the Corsair
6:18 dream machine Elite updated 2012 edition
6:22 will be coming out soon don't forget to subscribe to lus techtips for more
6:26 unboxings reviews behind the scenes updates here in the lab and other great
6:31 stuff like that also this SSD is awesome I know I haven't done a video about it
6:34 yet but it's like balling
