0:08 today I have something ludicrous to unbox this is the Patriot G2 series
0:13 which as you may or may not recall I recently took a look at a more sort of
0:18 uh downto Earth configuration so this one that I uh I checked out a couple
0:22 days ago was actually an 8 gig 2x4 gig
0:26 kit yep we're done with that here we are
0:29 this is the 8 gig single module which is
0:33 available in single module dual Channel and triple Channel kits but I have six
0:39 total single modules yes Patriot in an
0:44 exclusive industry first groundbreaking
0:47 Manor has released a gaming spec a
0:51 gaming oriented G2 series designed for Intel 6
0:56 series platform skew with 8 gig single
1:00 dims so that means that in my hand right now is 8 gigs on a single module just
1:06 like this these are not like double stacked memory chips or anything special
1:11 like that these are just very very high density modules so here you can see
1:15 these are 1333 999 24 timings 8 gig
1:19 modules these run at 1.5 volts yes these
1:22 are relatively low voltage modules too
1:26 very cool so in my hand right now I'm holding 40 8 GB of memory so that's a
1:32 similar amount of sheer storage space as you would find on an entrylevel SSD not
1:37 that long ago now they're not cheap but
1:40 I just wanted to sort of break this news to you guys that Patriot has 8 gig
1:45 modules and I'm going to be doing a follow-up video where I actually take an
1:49 x58 motherboard and we're going to find out if we can even run six modules that
1:54 is 48 gigs of memory on a single x58
1:57 board and then we're also going to try a z68 board to find out if we can run 32
2:04 gigs of memory on one of those so let's find out how well modern boards accept
2:08 this brand new memory density from Patriot
