welcome to another outdoor unboxing today we've got the Logitech g100s which
0:04
is part of the new Logitech G Series now
0:07
it's a bit perplexing to me that they've gone and branded this the G Series
0:11
because logitech's had a G Series for a long time but what they've done is
0:15
they've reinvented most of the G Series with a couple of different things so
0:19
number one is check this out Advanced surface materials feel the difference ad
0:24
durable hydrophobic Palm surface and fingerprint resistant button Coatings so
0:28
they've what they've attempted to do is engineer a surface that is not going to
0:33
get all oily and greasy and ugly and and
0:36
gross so I'm really looking forward to opening it up and checking it out this
0:40
particular one the g100s is the lowest end out of the new G Series so it's
0:44
rated at 250 to 2500 DPI which quite
0:48
frankly unless you are a super high sensitivity gamer or you're running with
0:54
a triple monitor surround setup is probably going to be enough for you
0:58
anyway uh up to 500 reports per second this is a strange uh differentiation for
1:03
me because most mice these days are able to do 1,000 Hertz but honestly you're
1:07
probably not going to notice the difference between 1 millisecond and 2 milliseconds in terms of the overall
1:13
input leg of your system um but this is cool check this out so durability wise
1:17
even though this is an entry-level Mouse it's rated at 20 million clicks there
1:21
are many gaming grade Mice from competitors that are rated at less than
1:26
20 million clicks or even ones that are significantly more expensive that are
1:30
only rated at 20 million clicks so it looks so I mean Logitech has always sort
1:33
of gone for make sure it's durable first
1:36
then figure out the fancy Dany features later and it looks like that Trend
1:41
continues with the g100s so we're just going to open it up inside this is a bit
1:44
of a different packaging strategy than I've seen from Logitech in the past so
1:48
it's got like a blue sort of look to it which I guess goes along with the blue
1:52
for the uh product branding as well as they're sort of achieved through science
1:57
uh messaging that they've got for these mice so they're talking about their
2:00
exclusive Delta zero sensor for consistent high accuracy targeting
2:04
comfortable ambid exra shape and advanced surface Coatings for improved handling that's pretty much all we've
2:09
got there which leads us to the mouse itself so in terms of the overall shape
2:14
honestly it doesn't look that different from you know like the mouse mouse the M
2:19
us mouse that you can get at sort of any kind of store so you've got your uh
2:24
Teflon feet on the bottom poly Tetra floro ethylene or whatever the actual
2:28
name is it because Teflon is a brand name you've also got their invisible
2:31
optic branding right here above the sensor so this is an optical Mouse not a
2:35
laser mouse which stands for reason because that's why we've got the lower
2:39
sensitivity than you would see on a typical gaming grade laser mouse so the
2:43
the difference with something like this
2:46
between like I said what looks like an M Mouse like you would get for $4.99 in
2:51
the bin is not necessarily what's gone into the looks of it but the quality of
2:56
the switches so the fact that they are rated for 20 million clicks which is going to going to be important for
3:00
gamers where you're going like click click click click click fire fire fire fire fire most people don't use their
3:04
computer like that so if you want something that's going to last longer there you go and then the other thing is
3:09
of course the grade of the laser inside you don't find any of the sort of extra
3:13
Frills and bells and whistles like a braided cable or you know a goldplated
3:18
connector but quite frankly the part of the connector that actually matters is
3:22
goldplated because when they gold plate this outer part here it doesn't even do
3:26
anything because that's not a contact point for the mouse the contact points
3:30
are inside the connector here and even on the g100s they are goldplated now in
3:35
terms of size it's a pretty comfortable size for me to almost Palm so I would
3:41
normally use a mouse like this in more of a claw grip so I have slightly
3:45
smaller male hands and I would hold it about like this where I can put my palm
3:49
on the back but I wouldn't quite cup it like I would do something more like a
3:52
g400s which we'll be taking a look at as well other than the standard buttons
3:57
your left and right click your middle click and your scroll wheel there's just a DPI switcher here in the middle and
4:01
that's pretty much it thanks for checking out my unboxing and first look at the g100s from Logitech don't forget
