0:01 so today on my video blog we're going to be featuring not one but two products
0:04 first of all the video is going to be about the antec earthw 650 wat power
0:08 supply but I'm also testing out a new camera so we're testing out the m1093 is
0:14 Kodak camera it's got a high quality 720p video mode so uh you can see we
0:19 actually started unboxing this before but my assistant today at home had
0:23 noticed that you could see her pajamas
0:27 in the reflection off the packaging so we had to restart so first of all let's
0:32 get that shiny packaging off there so first thing we notice about the Earth
0:36 wats is they're saying it is green it is Earth it is all about the efficiency so
0:40 you got your 80 plus certification and the earthw series is actually one of the
0:44 least expensive or most affordable I should say um 80 plus sort of certified
0:50 power suppli so here we go uh here's all of your standard specifications so we
0:56 got 3 12vt rails you've got active P
0:59 power factor correction so that means it accepts any volage input it's an ATX
1:03 power supply and it's for quiet Computing so that means ante is
1:07 advertising this as a quiet power supply
1:10 so let's get the Box open here let's show you how it's packaged in here so
1:15 along with their Green Earth theme you can see that they're not using a foam
1:19 package they're actually using like a brown recycled paper sort of package and
1:25 H here we go let's get this out so first of all accessories you have got got a
1:31 power cable so this is your standard computer power cable it's got the three
1:35 prongs it's got the other three prongs there you go there's nothing really
1:38 interesting about that you got your do not eat package please do not eat this
1:42 next we have a piece of brown paper which we will take off so that's that's
1:47 holding together the two sides of the
1:50 paper clam shell that's holding in the power supply and then we have these two
1:54 paper pieces here I better be able to put this back together cuz quite frankly
1:58 I do not remember how that went so then we undo the plastic around the power
2:03 supply itself and if I was able to do
2:06 that I would definitely do it there we go and now we can finally extract the
2:11 antech earthw 650 watt okay so the first thing you're
2:16 going to notice about it is it has a nice big 120 mm fan it's a little bit
2:19 smaller than the 140 mm fans that we're seeing on some other power supplies but
2:24 you are going to get adequate ventilation from that for sure especially for an efficient unit like
2:28 this so here you can see you got your normal honeycomb mesh on the back onof
2:32 switch there's no 120 to 240 volt switch
2:35 that is uh evidence of the active power
2:38 factor correction of this power supply on the side you're going to see the
2:42 basic specs here so you've got three 12vt rails rated at a maximum of 22 22
2:47 and 25 amps that's going to be your most important spec you're going to find on
2:50 the side and then on the other side we have an antech logo next thing I want to
2:55 show you here is actually the connectors that are included with this power supply
2:59 so first of all I'm going to need to get off this zip tie thing it's one of those
3:04 reusable zip ties so if you wanted to use it as part of your cable management
3:09 scheme you could actually do that which is kind of neat so first of all we've
3:12 got how many what are what are these okay we have a 6 plus2 pin PCI Express
3:18 connector so you can use that either for six pin PCI Express or 8 Pin then we
3:24 have another six pin PCI Express
3:27 connector and then so that's one eight pin and 16 pin and then we have a four
3:31 pin ATX connector and an 8 Pin EPS
3:35 connector so you're only going to use one of these two for your uh for your
3:38 motherboard there that provides power to the CPU so now I'm going to take off
3:42 this other connector here and I really wish that it was a little bit faster at
3:46 taking these off cuz man is it ever taking me a long time there we go let's
3:51 get the rest of our connectors going here so there is your Standard 24 pin
3:55 ATX connector it's a it's not too long
3:58 but it's not too short you're going to be able to use that in almost any bottom
4:01 mounted power supply case which it makes sense because antec was one of the first
4:05 to make that popular with the p180 and then for the rest of our cables here
4:10 let's see what we got so we have two sets of sort of more Molex oriented
4:14 cables so here you're going to find one two six Molex cable connectors and one
4:20 floppy connector and then for the other two cables here we've got two more that
4:25 each have three SATA connectors so four of them are right angle which looks like
4:29 this and the other two are just straight connectors like that so thank you for
4:34 checking out my video blog on the antech earthw 650 Watt
