0:07 well it's personal rig upgrade time so for those of you who aren't familiar
0:10 with my personal gaming machine it's a Silverstone tj07 with some antech
0:17 900 uh CASE front cover so that I can
0:22 have a dual 120 mm radiator there in the front and then I've also got uh a 980x
0:29 CPU with 2 4 gigs of RAM Big Bang X power GTX 480 liquid cooled killer Xeno
0:35 network card uh 926d LSI raid card
0:39 hooked up to uh eight ssds in the back got an ASUS Zonar sense going on there
0:45 I've got some UV called cathodes positioned sort of around different
0:49 places good for lighting effects cuz this is UV Blue tubing I've got a
0:54 quadruple 120 mm Thermo chill rad so
0:57 that's a total of 6x1 12 with the Dual
1:01 120 in the front and the quadruple 120 in the bottom um on the back we find
1:07 actually a lot of the uh the cooler Hardware that's going on in here so
1:11 we've got an mcubed T balancer which helps me control all the fan speeds so
1:16 um it uses the temperatures that it gets from various probes in order to adjust
1:21 fan speeds or even turn them off entirely when I don't need them that is
1:24 eight yeah these are these are stacked double here so that is eight for course
1:30 120 gig Corsair ssds running off that
1:34 LSI RAID controller so that is a total of 9 whatever 800 and something gigs of
1:40 SSD storage for my boot Drive uh ENT Max Revolution 1050 watt
1:46 power supply check out this fluid it's
1:50 like so murky needs to be cleaned out
1:53 and uh and replaced so that'll be part of this procedure my trusty mCP 655
1:59 which has been running for about 3 years now without a hiccup and um I apologize
2:05 for the cabling mess on the back here but uh
2:10 yeah yeah we're not we're not really doing anything differently probably with
2:14 it this time around I mean there's a few things in here that are kind of you know
2:19 sleeved but I don't worry too much about the cabling on the back as long as the
2:22 cabling on the front's okay and it's not too bad right come on guys reassure me
2:28 here it's not too bad right okay so what are we doing first of all
2:34 power supply is got to go it's only 80 plus silver so we'll be replacing that
2:38 with an XFX Pro 1000 limited edition 80
2:41 plus Platinum power supply what I like about this one so
2:46 much and I mentioned this during the unboxing is the hybrid fan control so
2:51 that switch is right here which basically allows it to turn the fan off
2:55 entirely under low loads this is a silence freak Enthusiast PC that is why
3:02 I have all the fans controlled by the T balancer most of the fans are actually
3:06 off during day-to-day operation with only the ones on the bottom radiator
3:10 running at a nominal nominal speed so
3:14 adding this will allow me to turn off this fan which has been kind of
3:17 bothering me um kind of 90% of the time anytime I'm not running something very
3:21 intensive what I'll also be doing is I will be adding silver fittings so these
3:26 are bits power true silver compression fittings please Focus
3:30 please Focus there we go bits power true silver compression fittings to anywhere
3:34 where I can put them this will allow me to avoid having my water Gunk up like
3:39 this again because it is antimicrobial which means stuff will not grow in the
3:43 loop I will also be upgrading to LGA 2011 so we've got an MSI uh whatever
3:50 this is It's a gd65 x79 a gd65 8D
3:54 haven't quite decided on the RAM configuration I'm either going to leave
3:58 those copper heads in there because they look ball in or I'll uh throw in my ocz
4:04 special Linus Edition never existed for
4:07 anyone but me RAM skew so this is uh see
4:14 matches the uh motherboard really really well that was why I specifically
4:17 requested this color of spreader it's like DDR3 2000 or something like that so
4:21 I might throw those in there and just go for four dims 16 gigs um haven't quite
4:26 decided yet so we'll we'll figure that out later and I'm also upgrading the
4:30 graphics card so from a GTX 480 I'm going to be going with an EVGA GTX 590
4:35 classified liquid cooled card and the
4:39 piece that I am most proud of oops you
4:43 know what guys give me a sec here the piece that I am most proud of the
4:47 centerpiece of this build is going to be my limited edition swifttech apple G HD
4:53 goldplated water block so there it is the limited edition stickers on there
4:59 somewhere there we go limited edition number
5:05 169 soing with the bits
5:08 power true gold compression fittings I'm
5:11 normally anti- two-tone but I had to do
5:15 it so like I said I'm either going to go with this RAM and keep the color scheme
5:20 black and silver and blue other than the water block or I'll leave in the
5:24 Copperheads just to have them matching so uh there's going to be a couple
5:28 challenges because unlike the revolution 1050 watt which uh has four SATA cables
5:34 per modular connector this guy has three so it means I might have to widen this
5:38 hole a little bit to get another connector up there alternately I can not
5:42 run this Molex and then I can use a s a Molex adapter in order to power all this
5:46 stuff but we'll figure it out and uh
5:49 yeah hopefully there will be some kind of a performance Improvement especially
5:52 in games I'm not expecting too much in the way of a CPU performance boost going
5:56 from a 980x to a 39
6:00 60x but uh should be able to render your
6:03 guys' videos just a little bit faster and get games going uh quite a bit
6:07 faster with the liquid cooled GTX
6:11 590 so thank you for checking out this
6:14 little teaser video of my upgrade and I'm probably not going to update you
6:17 guys again until it's done but uh who
6:20 knows I might show some in progress depends on what you guys demand so what
6:24 are we going for here we're going for more power more efficiency
6:29 and uh to clean out to clean out the old water cooling gunky Loop that's uh
6:35 become a little bit well gunked up and
6:39 got my cat attacking my leg so we're going to call it quits here on this one
7:05 let's see if he wants to uh to visit
7:09 here hold on going to do this thing
7:12 let's see if he jumps on my
7:17 shoulder oh no he just wants to nuzzle right
7:20 now can probably hear him purring oh maybe not well there we go I
7:25 think we're done here
