0:00 welcome to another GPU Showdown this
0:03 time it's BioShock Infinite we've been asked for this a lot we're using the
0:07 very latest drivers available from both the Green Team and the red team because
0:10 we wanted to make sure that they've had a chance to put their appropriate optimizations in before we did our
0:15 benchmarking sort of guide as well as our Showdown and I'm really excited to
0:21 show this to you guys so let's start with our test bench we've got a 3960x
0:26 extreme Edition processor from Intel clocked at 4 GHz 16 gigs of Kingston
0:30 DDR3 1600 MHz RAM an Aus p9x 79 Deluxe
0:34 motherboard an antec 1000 wat High current Platinum power supply 128 gig
0:39 SSD and it's all cooled by a Corsair
0:42 h100 now obviously the graphics card changes but we've got four different
0:47 price points $100 $200 sort of end change $300 and $400 and we're going to
0:52 have the GTX 650 7770 GTX 660 7870 GTX
0:59 660 I which I've gotten the wrong spot
1:02 7970 and finally the GTX 670 versus the
1:07 7970 methodology wise we'll be doing our usual thing with a two-minute run
1:11 through of actual gameplay so if you guys are interested slick does videos
1:15 actually showcasing exactly the Run we do so you can follow along and Benchmark
1:19 your own system with BioShock Infinite and find out how it Stacks up against
1:23 the stuff that we're running here now I just wanted to remind you guys that all
1:27 of our video cards are overclocked and the reason re we do this is that
1:30 overclocking is easy and free and there's pretty much no reason you could
1:34 do it yes technically some manufacturers void the warranty little inside trick
1:38 they have absolutely no way of knowing if you overclocked your card
1:42 so $100 price point 7770 versus GTX 650
1:47 this was a bit of a trouncing the 7770 outperformed the GTX 650 by about 30%
1:53 which is uh definitely tangible and definitely something that you can feel
1:57 when you're actually playing the game now our $200 price point has gotten a
2:01 little bit uh a little bit murky is it $200 is it $250 not quite sure the 7870
2:07 is around $229 and the GTX 660 is around
2:10 239 what we do know is that these cards are priced quite similarly so they
2:14 should be pretty comparable and what we experience is that they are the 7870
2:18 outperforms the 660 by about 5% which for all intents and purposes is just
2:23 outside the margin of error that we have for these runs because we are doing real
2:27 world benchmarks as opposed to just running a caned uh pre-done thing so
2:32 it's just the it's the nature of the Beast you can't do it perfectly exactly
2:37 the same every single time at our next price point we have the 7950 and the GTX
2:41 660 Ti and this one was a pretty significant performance difference we're
2:46 looking at about 15% better performance
2:49 with the 7950 again bearing in mind both cards are overclocked and the 7950 does
2:54 tend to overclock like a bit of a beast it represents a very good value and has
2:59 actually done pretty well consistently in all of these game showdowns that
3:04 we've done and our last price point so we've done 1002 200 $300 so far is
3:08 around $400 so our 670 versus a 7970 was
3:12 about a 10% difference in favor of the 7970 so you can see that's the one left
3:17 on the bench here it was the king of BioShock Infinite for our testing bear
3:21 in mind when I say King I mean that sort of sort of King I mean GTX Titan would
3:26 obviously perform better but it didn't fall into any of the price points that
3:30 we Benchmark that we find our price points that real people would actually
3:33 be purchasing graphics cards at I mean there are people buying Titans but
3:37 there's not it's like a ton of them out there thank you for checking out this
3:42 benchmarking video well not benchmarking video you can check out the benchmarking
3:46 video separately slick made that but thank you for checking out our performance Showdown with this new
3:51 exciting installment of Bioshock apparently a lot better than the second
3:55 one so that's uh that's a good thing and don't forget to subscribe to l tective
3:59 from unboxings reviews and other computer videos
