0:07 welcome to a personal rig update that will be sort of in the form of an
0:11 unboxing because this inside here is my
0:16 package it's pretty big takes a lot of tape to wrap it up
0:22 but you know what can I say it's uh you
0:27 know you don't get to pick your package you just have to make do with the one
0:30 you've got and this is was sent to
0:36 me by Mountain mods it is my tj07 inside
0:40 here and I had underestimated how difficult it was going to be to cut this
0:44 box open it is been powder coated and it is ready for assembly so
0:52 I'm so stoked because as slick is so
0:56 fond of reminding me it has been a year
1:00 since I have actually had a properly built working gaming desktop over over a
1:07 year thank you slick um we'll be back once all right
1:11 there we go I managed to get all the tape removed and oh wow there is another
1:16 box with more tape uh says black wrinkle
1:21 which is the finish that I opted for for my tj07 there's a lot of you guys who
1:25 have questioned why I'm sort of staying loyal to this tj7 s that between the
1:31 initial cost and having it painted twice
1:34 now and having the original paint stripped off so that I could repaint it
1:38 and make it look all gorgeous and fresh again has probably cost me nearly
1:41 $1,000 uh it was a gift from my wife it was one of the first gifts she ever got
1:46 me and um also I like it I it's cheaper
1:51 than buying a new tj07 and getting that powder coated so there's a number of
1:56 reasons why I would want to do it this way so Mountain mods charged me uh 250
2:02 bucks for getting everything powder coated and shipped back to myself and
2:08 they have wrapped everything in their customary sort
2:12 of uh whatever this would be called
2:15 cling wrap like giant industrial cling
2:19 wrap their black wrinkle finish is so
2:22 gorgeous like out of all the paint finishes that I've encountered on
2:27 computer cases or just sort of in general this has to be my favorite um I
2:32 did think about doing something like an automotive finish on the outside but
2:37 like I said few things compare to sexy
2:40 black wrinkle black wrinkle finish so these are the anodized aluminum side
2:44 panels and I'm just going to go ahead and try of well I'm not going to go
2:50 ahead and sort of anything but uh let's see how quickly we you know what we're
2:55 just going to have to unpack this off camera here guys and we'll be back all
2:59 right so we unb boxed it and other than a few blemishes which I am of course
3:03 going to show you all of because this system is my baby and so I was a little
3:07 bit disappointed to find any of them although with a project this big with no
3:12 doovers um what what powder coaters would normally do is they would just
3:17 throw out the blemished piece because it's so expensive to strip powder
3:20 coating and then they'd just redo another one but they don't have that
3:24 option cuz this is sort of all one shot deal so there's a small blemish here on
3:29 the bottom left corner I don't know if you can see that diesel yeah Diesel's
3:32 got it um there's a blemish on the top
3:36 which is here where there's a little bit too much paint build up you got that one
3:43 okay diesel can't even see it so that should give you guys some idea how much of a nitpicker I'm being about this uh
3:49 the oh the grills turned out fantastic
3:52 so these are anch 900 grills and I had
3:56 them powder coated black wrinkle so that they're going to match the case
4:01 perfectly now whereas before they just had the stock non wrinkle powder coating
4:05 and then I had an anodized finish here so now these are going to look extremely
4:09 sharp uh so there will be radiators or
4:12 there will be a radiator and fans behind that so that's going to look really
4:16 really clean right there I had the uh I had the back piece done all as one piece
4:22 so the screws are all installed I'm never going to install two power supplies in it installing two power
4:26 supplies in a modern system is totally pointless because you can get like 1500
4:31 watt power supplies and you'd be hard pressed to uh to build a system that
4:34 sucks more than 1500 watts in a standard ATX form factor okay so here there's uh
4:40 there's some some blemishes like this one here uh probably one of the ones
4:44 that bothers me most I think is the one on this side panel where uh yeah it's
4:51 this one you can see here that there's some
4:54 like something going on here yeah but
4:58 again like I say not the end of the world and from some angles you can't
5:02 even really see it and at least it's the other side panel the windowed side panel
5:06 is quite clean um slick asked me why send it to Mountain mods why not just
5:10 get any shop to do it one of the reasons I like having Mountain mods do it is
5:14 they're PC guys so they understand that standoffs need to be masked they
5:18 understand which holes don't need to be masked so you can see one of the things
5:21 they do is um there's a there's a rubber
5:25 piece here that they put in in order to prevent any kind of paint from getting
5:30 into the threads here so they put these all over the place and they just they
5:34 know what they're doing they know their way in in and around a PC so that's why
5:37 I'm more comfortable having them work on it but so you can see the motherboard tray has been modernized with a CPU
5:42 cutout as well as Cable Management holes
5:45 and I think that's pretty much it so
5:48 hopefully the next time you guys see a video from me about my personal rig I
5:53 will be doing either either a live stream or just a video of me building it
5:58 oh this is one little finishing touch that I'm really really pleased about so
6:02 I had them do the hold down plate for my limited edition goldplated Apple ghd in
6:08 Black wrinkle as well so that's going to be just a kind of an awesome centerpiece
6:12 to have on the uh in the middle of the motherboard thank you for checking out
