0:00 so today I'm going to be unboxing a pretty cool product that sort of arrived
0:04 in the mail for NC use this is an ET 2400 series allinone PC from ASUS and
0:11 I'm actually going to open this up and then we're going to throw it over on the
0:15 test bench once I've got it all opened up so we can find out what the specs of
0:20 this machine are because right now all I know is the series I don't know how much
0:24 RAM it has I don't know how big the hard drive is all that good stuff like what
0:28 kind of CPU is installed so just going to do what I do and that is uh I'm just
0:32 going to break seals and show you guys the product and then we will go from
0:37 there so I broke the seal and now I'm
0:40 showing you guys uh oh here's a warranty card so they put that somewhere where
0:44 you'll definitely find it there we go
0:48 and why don't we find out what kind of warranty we have on this particular
0:51 all-in-one PC from missuse well there you can fill that in there's your serial
0:55 number that's handy uh warranty conditions 12 months oh okay no no for
1:00 example 12 months means 24 12 months
1:03 okay oh here we go so Aus will provide warranty service for any more than three
1:09 bright dots or five dark dots so that is
1:12 on the LCD so that's bright pixels or dead
1:15 pixels um okay
1:19 neat keep going and we've got some foam
1:23 so give me a second I'm just going to unpack this and then we'll go from
1:27 there okay accessory wise uh oh it comes
1:30 packed in a nice closed cell foam so very very very durable shipping material
1:35 this is one of my favorites personally uh let's see what we got for accessories
1:38 so first things first we got this that
1:42 appears to be an IR sensor okay plugs in
1:45 via USB good next we have what appears
1:49 to be a mouse yeah just your average wired Mount
1:54 well not average I mean it's quite small I have small hands and this is a small
1:58 Mouse see look look at that I mean these are
2:03 my fingers look how short my fingers are okay so there's that next we have a
2:09 power cord which is your standard notebook style power cord and then we
2:13 have a power brick now for this one I'm going to whip out the iPhone yeah yeah
2:18 cameraman's trying to give me his iPhone but I have an iPhone now too smart guy
2:22 yeah okay fine we'll use your iPhone okay so that is how big it is compared
2:26 to an iPhone okay and that is how thick
2:30 it is compared to an iPhone this is a big old power brick be happy that this
2:35 is not for your laptop because it weighs like 60 lb well no it doesn't weigh 60
2:40 lb but it's heavy since this is a desktop PC though it's not really that
2:43 big of a concern well it's not a big concern at all next we have some kind of
2:48 a remote which if we put this on demo in the store someone will surely steal
2:53 within a matter of minutes not that I'm saying that that's an invitation to
2:57 steal it because it's really inconvenient when people do that by the
3:01 way but it will happen and for whatever reason it takes three batteries three
3:06 AAA batteries I mean who has three AAA batteries really I've never seen a media
3:12 center remote that takes three batteries or AAA
3:16 batteries I'm a big fan of double a batteries because they're common and
3:21 cheap and I like things that are
3:25 cheap there we go okay so it's got all your standard media oh it lights look at
3:30 that whole thing is illuminated oh okay won went away yeah
3:35 yeah press the button go there okay that's nice that's nice that maybe
3:39 that's why it takes three batteries maybe that's what the extra battery is for power the light okay next we have a
3:46 keyboard pretty run-of-the-mill keyboard I would probably recommend getting a
3:50 different keyboard and mouse if you're going to use this for any sort of extended period of time throughout the
3:54 day all right now let's do this a I'm
3:58 ripping off plastic
4:02 success lots of plastic this is the all-in-one PC itself
4:08 and we now get our first hint as to what is the spec of this machine because
4:14 there are stickers on the front that indicate to us some of those
4:18 specifications so first of all we can see that it runs Windows 7 next we can
4:23 see that it has an Intel Core i5 processor which basically means that it
4:28 rocks okay okay and we have NVIDIA GeForce 310m 512 Meg Graphics which
4:35 basically means that it is uh capable of playing like HD videos back which the
4:40 core I 5 would anyway it is energy star compliant it comes with some kind of uh
4:45 pre-installed trial of Office 2010 okay
4:49 over here we have ooh Distortion free
4:52 audio base enhancement immersive surround sound so they're calling this
4:56 Sonic master that is for Crystal Pure surround reproduction it is fine-tuned
5:00 for original recording production and then here there's a little bubble that
5:05 has like some waves like real sound which is uh yellow and then before
5:09 tuning which is green which clearly we off and then after tuning which is very
5:13 close to the yellow so close to real sound excellent okay you can actually
5:18 see the Soundbar here at the bottom of
5:21 the screen so it's quite large actually look at that so the Soundbar goes all
5:25 the way across the entire bottom of the all-in-one PC up here at the top we have
5:31 a webcam okay we have a webcam and then
5:36 over here we have an accurate multi-touch
5:39 screen yeah I don't know what that's for we'll figure that out later uh okay so
5:43 it has an accurate multi-touch screen HDMI in so you can play HD content from
5:48 your notebook or other multimedia devices that's pretty neat that's something that I often feel is missing
5:52 from notebooks or from all-in-one PCS is the ability to plug something else into
5:57 it and use it as a monitor should you so desire you can easily upgrade the memory
6:01 and it supports their performance uh 15% super Hybrid engine basically means you
6:05 can turn the performance up it's kind of like overclocking okay let's look around
6:08 at the back of the all-in-one PC where
6:11 we find some ventilation so there's clearly an aluminum heat sink here as
6:16 well as one over here on the other side I can't don't know if you can see where
6:20 I'm pointing yes you can all right and that's where we have ventilation coming
6:25 from here's our easy memory upgrade panel I'm just going to take the plastic
6:29 off there very very very shiny finish overall on this all-in-one PC so if
6:34 you're down with shiny you are down with
6:37 this allinone PC very very shiny okay let's have a look at what we've got on
6:41 the side in terms of inputs and outputs and all that kind of stuff we have our
6:45 DVD multi recorder we have a power
6:48 button uh volume up menu and volume down
6:52 going to go ahead and turn this
6:55 around okay and then on the other side we have two USB ports headphones
7:00 microphone and a multicard reader here
7:04 on the back under the easy memory slot
7:07 which I'm just going to oh is that even the easy memory slot well how the devil
7:11 does this work hold on a
7:14 minute that doesn't seem very easy at
7:20 all okay guys feel free to post comments and let me know how oh I think I get it
7:24 I get it there's a screw here so you undo this screw and then you pull out
7:27 this tab and then you have access to the memory cuz this seems too easy for a
7:32 toddler curious toddler to come along take this off and like and like eat your
7:36 memory if it if there wasn't another metal plate there so I get it now okay
7:40 and down here we've got four more USB ports a Kensington lock antenna
7:45 VGA okay HDMI in uh gigabit Ethernet as
7:49 well as power in so let's go plug this baby in and see what it's all
7:54 about all right so we're finally booted up to the desktop it did take a little
7:58 while but it got itself all initialized up and all that good stuff so let's have
8:02 a look at what comes pre-installed on
8:05 the ASUS all-in-one PC that we're looking at today so there's the super
8:09 Hybrid engine so that's our oh UAC is
8:12 kicking in here we go super Hybrid engine is okay we got some more UAC
8:17 going on something about easy update uh
8:21 let's do that later cancel okay yeah I want to exit the program okay super
8:24 Hybrid engine here we go after press okay system will be rebooted to make
8:28 your change okay no I don't want to reboot right now okay we've also got Trend Micro titanium assus Sonic Master
8:33 which is something to do with the uh sound evidently okay you can either use
8:38 the internal laptop speakers or probably something else if you plug
8:43 it in but right now you can't so vocal Clarity surround base adaptive volume
8:47 lower high okay interesting okay next we have the vibe Fun Center ooh actually
8:51 let's get back to that later because that sounds fun okay we got web storage we got Triple E cam so that's our webcam
8:57 Triple E Cinema which is evidently some kind of media player software okay so
9:03 videos okay you can add stuff to your library movies music o you memo and
9:09 there's a little smiley face cool oh yeah right okay so I can write a
9:13 memo yeah yeah okay so can oh hold on
9:17 select the memo pad background sure let's go with pink okay oh and then I
9:21 can select this kind of marker oh open the cover open okay I can select uh okay
9:27 let's go with this kind of marker okay
9:37 ra
9:43 man
9:46 ma yeah okay so I can clear all or I can
9:51 erase oh yeah erasing doesn't work very well I highly recommend not using that
9:55 eraser because it works like a real eraser which is not very effective oh
10:00 you can choose all kinds of different colors though for your markers which is kind of neat even gray and black you can
10:06 use like a this kind of thing okay so let's exit that so there's our memo pad
10:11 okay we have E paint which is probably again some kind of touchscreen based
10:16 thing ooh this looks fun so I can put in a truck no yeah there we go and then I
10:23 can like color it and stuff I got my crayon I got my green so I'm going to
10:27 make a green truck yeah if you have kids I'm sure this will be
10:32 like a big hit and then they can print it out and waste all your toner and ink
10:36 and then you'll be really happy but still come on that's pretty cool pretty
10:40 cool okay so I made myself a green and red truck no I don't think I want to
10:44 save those changes yeah we're not going to be saving those changes okay game
10:47 partk console sorry we're just I'm just looking at all of the stuff that comes
10:51 pre-installed here guys so why don't why don't I talk to you about the overall
10:54 spec of the machine a little bit as well let's find out what the overall spec is
10:57 oh I don't know how to right click with the uh tou pad so let's just go ahead and do this okay so this is a core i5
11:03 650 so it's at 3.2 GHz that is a dual
11:06 core Core i5 so we have 4 gigs of RAM uh
11:11 in terms of our video card I think we already mentioned this before but is a
11:14 GeForce 310 M 512 Meg and so we've got
11:18 our uh NVIDIA control panel here that's pretty much your basic specs what do we
11:22 have in terms of storage yeah don't worry I'll have a look at that in a
11:25 minute uh oh right wrong thing let's go
11:28 computer so in terms of storage we have a 500 gig Drive in here by the look of
11:33 things what's this okay so we got e sharing fun touch e experience e tools
11:39 why don't we do e sharing what's E share web storage okay emuse okay so this is
11:44 basically just quick links to the stuff that we've already been having a look at
11:48 here so the paint Journal Sonic Master
11:51 Okay cool so you can pretty much get rid of all those desktop shortcuts and just
11:55 use this so game Park okay let's not worry too much about game park right now
11:59 now I want to go back to this one I am all about the vibe Fun Center because
12:03 that sounds pretty good A okay back in a
12:08 sec all right so this is what we find so
12:11 there's something about music you you know local artist Carrie Underwood I
12:15 really don't think she's a local artist where I'm from but that's okay uh we got
12:18 games we got radio so I can listen to like local top 40 stations and all that
12:24 kind of stuff okay learning Dr Chinese
12:27 Elementary Chinese one Aya oh okay I'm probably pronouncing
12:34 that wrong okay there's lots of Chinese lessons here why don't we try action
12:37 chicken Invaders 3 let's try playing this game okay give me a sec I'll see
12:41 how long it loads okay so far the sound seems pretty
12:45 good here I'm just in the uh demo mode so this is chicken Invaders revenge of
12:50 the Yol why don't we go with uh start new Mission here okay and there's a fork
12:56 there's a fork for the pointer so
13:01 oh nice nice okay so this is just a a 60-minute demo basically but you use
13:06 your mouse to you know do this so basically this is a way for your
13:11 kids to download stuff on your
13:14 computer and that you'll have to remove later for the most
13:22 part oh you can eat all like the burgers and like chicken wings I don't know why
13:27 Burgers come out of the chicken when you blow it up but
13:30 uh okay you can tap the fire button for single shots or hold it for continuous
13:36 fire that is a death star with a
13:39 Yol and that is some good taunting going on okay I think we're done um so thank
13:43 you for checking out my video don't forget to subscribe to lus Tech tips for
13:47 more unboxings reviews and other computer videos and evidently gameplay
13:51 footage from chicken Invaders three
