0:00 Alright guys, welcome to oil part three. We're finally, it's been a little bit, finally, finally doing it.
0:06 Sorry this took so long, but we're pretty excited.
0:09 So today, we are going to actually pour mineral oil into the computer.
0:14 This is not how it's done.
0:16 Imagine the cap just flew off.
0:19 No, you have to actually be like fairly careful about it, but we'll get to that part.
0:23 Yeah, so come along for the ride.
0:26 The Cooler Master Neptune 240M features an exclusive pump design and their new Silencio fans to provide impressive near-silent performance.
0:42 Click now to learn more.
0:43 So, I guess we have to figure out this.
0:46 We have to figure out the fan cable management at the back.
0:48 We have to figure out the rocks.
0:50 And we have to do the plant stuff.
0:52 You have to look down to see my rocks.
0:54 He's looking down at your rocks.
0:56 Yeah?
0:56 It's okay.
0:57 Are they big?
0:58 They're actually pretty small.
1:00 But there's lots of them.
1:01 There's a really abnormally large amount of them.
1:03 So, basically, this needs to plug in like kind of there-ish, right?
1:08 Ish.
1:08 It'll be lower than that, but yeah.
1:10 And then we can bury it under the rocks as far as we can, correct?
1:14 Yeah.
1:14 And then we want like a nice straight run coming out.
1:49 Oh, boy.
1:50 I remember this being a bit of a challenge.
1:52 I remember...
1:53 We should probably do it with the bench laying on its back.
1:55 I remember thinking we should only do this once.
1:57 We should mount it from the top.
1:58 I can do it.
1:59 I can do it.
1:59 I can do it.
2:00 I can do it, dog.
2:03 Here we go.
2:08 That was a good start.
2:09 Snap.
2:09 Yes, it was.
2:10 Yes.
2:10 This is reattached.
2:12 Graphics card is back in.
2:14 This is cable managed.
2:15 Look at that.
2:29 Probably off.
2:30 Oh, well.
2:32 Wall.
2:34 You know what I mean?
2:35 You need clearance with the fans?
2:37 Yeah.
2:38 Yeah.
2:38 Unless the double-sided tape makes it tall enough that it doesn't matter.
2:41 No, it's not that thick.
2:42 Okay.
2:42 Yeah, let's just go...
2:43 We'll go on the other side.
2:45 So, about how long do they need to be?
2:47 About like that?
2:48 Yeah.
2:48 Okay, I'll just give you a script.
2:50 Here.
2:50 Sure.
2:51 One.
2:52 We'll make our own fan controller.
2:54 A double-sided tape and scissors.
2:56 Yeah.
2:57 And an SSD.
2:58 And blackjack.
2:59 And blackjack.
3:00 With a knife?
3:02 Oh, my goodness.
3:03 There's snips here.
3:06 There was scissors around not that long ago, and he's still going.
3:34 Fans don't plug in that way.
3:36 Oh, yeah.
3:36 Power and data don't plug in this way.
3:38 So, we need it like...
3:41 No, because that has to go flush against it, doesn't it?
3:43 And there we thought we had such a great idea.
3:47 How many fans do we have?
3:48 Four.
3:49 Damn it.
3:50 Okay.
3:50 Does it look...
3:50 Does it look good?
3:50 Does it look ghetto, or does it look cool?
3:53 Sometimes it's a fine line.
3:56 Ghetto.
3:58 All right.
3:58 All right.
3:59 Here we go.
3:59 Moment of truth time.
4:01 We've had a lot of moments of truth.
4:03 That's what makes a good billboard.
4:07 Wow.
4:08 Yeah, it bends to hell, but I might be willing to make that sacrifice.
4:12 Oh, this is like the most awful thing that I've done to a piece of hardware in quite
4:16 some time.
4:19 This is awful.
4:24 This isn't ghettoing it.
4:25 This is just poor planning.
4:27 So, you know how people were kind of complaining?
4:29 They were complaining about the blue zip tie here?
4:32 Yes.
4:32 Yeah.
4:33 So, I figured out how we can balance that out.
4:37 Are we going to put it...
4:37 Oh, no way.
4:39 Awesome.
4:41 Yeah.
4:42 Nice.
4:43 Now it's like light blue, dark blue, pink, and red, and black.
4:49 And silver.
4:50 And silver.
4:51 And your face.
4:52 And these Antec fans are some color.
4:55 I got to warn you in advance.
4:57 I had like some wicked gas.
4:58 Oh.
4:59 So, I'm going to have to choose between...
5:00 I thought there was like some legitimate, like there's some crippling issue with the
5:04 build or something.
5:05 No.
5:06 Well, that is kind of a crippling issue.
5:07 Yeah.
5:07 The build is fine.
5:08 Well, it's not crippling yet.
5:09 Nothing's happened.
5:10 Nothing's happened yet.
5:11 But if I have to choose between mild stomach discomfort for me...
5:16 Or like horrible...
5:18 Oh, okay.
5:19 Yeah.
5:19 Yeah.
5:20 So, just be prepared.
5:21 Be prepared because I won't be sparing you.
5:23 Did you purposely twist this?
5:25 Yeah.
5:25 Nice.
5:26 I like it.
5:26 Okay.
5:27 So, what do we get to do?
5:28 We got to...
5:28 We got to kill magic.
5:29 This is the back of this.
5:30 Okay.
5:30 And then...
5:31 Why don't you start on that?
5:31 And we're getting pretty close.
5:32 This is what happens when you send Nick to buy anything.
5:36 I said I needed some cotton balls.
5:37 I meant like three.
5:39 600.
5:43 It depends who buys three balls.
5:46 But who buys 600?
5:49 Yes.
5:50 And yes.
5:51 Oh, I guess it's...
6:22 Oh, no.
6:28 That's terrible.
6:29 Are they exactly the same length?
6:31 No.
6:31 Oh, not quite.
6:32 The new one's shorter.
6:33 Oh, oh.
6:34 We're losing like...
6:35 Not much.
6:36 Yeah, I think that's like a quarter of an inch.
6:38 All right.
6:38 That's not too bad.
6:40 Yeah.
6:42 This is my dreams.
6:45 They're broken.
6:46 My dreams of the correct length of bubble machine.
6:54 This might take a while.
7:00 I feel like I'm playing Excavator.
7:03 And I'm like nine.
7:05 It's like we didn't want impacts when we're both like dropping from the top.
7:10 Yeah.
7:10 Yeah.
7:10 So...
7:12 I give up.
7:14 Okay.
7:14 So this is just a lower down test fit, right?
7:16 Yeah.
7:17 It's for the reds.
7:17 Yeah.
7:18 It's like, I'm good.
7:23 Okay.
7:23 So it's still up on things.
7:26 Okay.
7:27 So reds are there.
7:28 Reds are also there.
7:30 Oh, that graphics card.
7:32 Is this all the way down?
7:33 Yeah.
7:34 Okay.
7:52 So to add some positives and negatives with this one, the grate is right at the top, essentially.
7:57 Like there's a little bit of a lip, but not much.
7:59 Yeah.
7:59 And there's a possibility of going inside where you...
8:02 You can't plug your ATX power.
8:03 Right.
8:04 This one you're pouring into the case and then it deals with it.
8:07 Right.
8:08 So if you want to not get oil on you, actually, we should probably put some stuff down.
8:14 I'm not even kidding.
8:14 Do you have a, do we have garbage bags here?
8:17 We have newspaper.
8:20 We have copious amounts of newspaper.
8:24 It's like not going to care about your newspaper.
8:26 Not ideal solution.
8:28 Welcome to Linus Media Group, where ideal solutions are not solutions.
8:37 Because they're suspensions.
8:39 You're suspended.
8:41 I'm not going to fire you anymore.
8:43 Just suspended you.
8:45 All's well.
8:46 Everything is okay.
8:57 Oh my God.
8:59 Wouldn't that have been a conclusion?
9:01 So we broke both the rads and the back of the computer.
9:18 So this is it.
9:18 Moment of truth.
9:19 You want to make sure you don't miss, but then also make sure they don't go too quickly.
9:23 There you go.
9:24 Do you want to see if it's disrupting the rocks?
9:25 I don't think it is.
9:26 Don't get in the way of the camera.
9:27 I won't.
9:27 No, it's fine.
9:29 It would probably kill you if you could see it, but it's fine.
9:34 Yeah, I'm missing everything.
9:36 Yep.
9:36 This is a harder shot.
10:29 He goes in for the three points.
10:31 Well, he, yep, he's fine.
10:33 I've poured water before, so that helps.
10:35 Ah, I splashed.
10:37 No, it's okay. I got this.
10:40 There's something to this.
10:42 It's not.
10:43 Do we need to snip those things then?
10:45 Maybe.
10:46 Holy crap.
10:47 Oh my goodness.
10:48 And then.
10:49 Then that's it.
10:50 And then that pulls out.
10:51 You pull this out.
10:53 All right.
10:54 Yep.
11:02 Nope.
11:03 Nope.
11:04 I'm good.
11:05 I'm good.
11:07 I got it.
11:08 Splashed my face.
11:09 It's okay.
11:10 A little mineral oil is good for the complexion.
11:11 I wonder actually.
11:12 Probably not.
11:58 You were so close.
11:59 Oh, terrible.
12:00 Okay.
12:01 Well.
12:04 Okay.
12:05 Dang it.
12:08 I'm going in.
12:13 Just don't drop the paper down.
12:14 Just, GG.
12:16 A piece of it went in.
12:17 Oh my gosh.
12:18 Oh my gosh.
12:19 Oh my gosh.
12:20 Oh my gosh.
12:21 Oh my gosh.
12:24 Oh my gosh.
12:25 Oh my gosh.
12:28 A piece of it went in.
12:29 Hold on.
12:30 I wonder if we can retrieve it.
12:31 You need like a stick or something.
12:32 Tell me if I'm near it.
12:33 You're way off.
12:34 Hold on.
12:35 Oh God.
12:37 You don't want to.
12:38 Yeah.
12:39 I got it.
12:40 Nope.
12:41 Shoot.
12:42 Okay.
12:44 That's one.
12:45 Okay.
12:46 Now backtrack.
12:47 I got to pull this one out.
12:56 There.
12:58 Home free.
12:59 I think.
13:01 Nice.
13:02 I got that.
13:05 Okay.
13:06 Captured you, you bastard.
13:07 You bastard.
13:08 Got it?
13:16 All right.
13:17 Probably okay there.
13:18 I got you a little bit of the fill line because we're still leaning forward a little bit.
13:25 Okay.
13:26 Okay.
13:27 So hold on a second.
13:28 So the fan on the power supply is like right at the top.
13:33 Yeah.
13:34 And then this one's about the same.
13:35 And then this one's about the same.
13:36 Like it's just barely coming out.
13:38 So are they going to like whip it around?
13:42 I don't think it's going to throw it, but you'll have a little bit of like turbulent
13:47 pick up.
13:48 That should be okay.
13:49 It should be.
13:50 Depending on how fast the fan spins.
13:51 I didn't have fans that were that close, but the only experience I have with this is
13:54 I could turn my pump off externally.
13:55 So when I flip mine up, I would have my pump off.
13:58 So it would go through fans and when it first touches them, it just throws it all freaking
14:02 over the place.
14:03 But I've never had it like really permanently where it's right near the edge.
14:06 So we'll see.
14:07 You'll probably be fine though.
14:08 You should see how the bubble maker works though.
14:10 Yeah.
14:11 Because if we need to eject the bubble maker.
14:12 Well, we can, because we can turn the fans off on the graphics card using custom curves
14:17 afterburner.
14:18 Yes.
14:19 Or turn them very low.
14:20 We won't be able to do that this second.
14:21 Right.
14:22 Because we have to get everything working.
14:23 The power supply we can turn off immediately.
14:24 It has a switch on the back for the hybrid mode.
14:26 Eco mode or whatever.
14:27 Yeah.
14:28 Okay.
14:29 Well, let's see the bubbles first, I guess.
14:30 Okay.
14:31 Oh, we're going to see the bubbles without the lights.
14:32 I guess.
14:33 Well, okay.
14:34 We'll add lights later.
14:35 Okay.
14:36 I want a good angle at this.
14:37 I poured the mineral oil, so I didn't get to see any of it.
14:38 I'm going to have to watch my own video.
14:39 There's a screw hanging out of the pump.
14:41 Oh no, no.
14:43 It's okay.
14:44 Oh my goodness.
14:45 It is amazing.
14:46 Look how clear the acrylic gets.
14:48 I was like, one of the screws holding the top on is hanging out.
14:53 That's what I was telling Nick Burkle is that everything looks extremely clean.
14:57 Wow.
14:58 It looks super clean.
14:59 Look at the metal on the graphics card.
15:02 It looks perfect.
15:03 Wow.
15:04 It's because it is constantly oiled.
15:05 It's like you oiled up something so it would look cool and then left it that way forever.
15:10 All right.
15:11 Fine.
15:12 Carry on.
15:13 Oh my goodness.
15:14 I freaked right out.
15:17 The bubbles are awesome.
15:18 So our pump's a little bit on the OP side, I think.
15:49 We got like the one for circulating the water in the aquarium, you know?
15:54 Yeah.
15:55 Which is probably good because circulating mineral will help, but it's a little bit overpowering,
15:59 so either we move that back a lot and that's going to be a huge process or we buy a different
16:04 pump.
16:05 Yeah, because we tried kinking it, and if you kink it like hardcore, then it's probably
16:12 reasonable.
16:13 Yeah.
16:14 Do you want to power up the actual computer?
16:15 Yeah.
16:16 Let's do this.
16:17 Okay.
16:18 It came with a right angle power cable, so we need to find that because that's going
16:19 to be...
16:20 He says that as if it's his idea.
16:22 He was like, do you have a right angle power cable, and I'm like, yeah, let me go grab
16:25 it.
16:26 It came with one, and then Brandon's like, oh, I'm not filming yet.
16:29 So I just want to set the record straight about how that happened.
16:33 That adds a lot of good quality content to the video, Linus.
16:36 I'm happy that you took the viewer's time explaining that.
16:39 Okay.
16:40 So this is it.
16:41 If it doesn't post now, then I might as well just...
16:42 Yeah.
16:43 I might as well just end it all.
16:47 Shut down Linus Media Group, go into hiding in the mountains.
16:50 Just completely quit.
16:51 I kind of hope it doesn't.
16:53 No.
16:54 Seriously, though.
16:55 No.
16:56 That would make a really interesting next video.
16:57 No.
16:58 We'd have to garbage bag off this whole area.
16:59 Oh.
17:00 We'd have to get giant rubber gloves.
17:03 We'd probably have to wear garbage bags over our legs and tape them to our legs.
17:08 Oh my goodness.
17:09 Okay.
17:10 And then we'd haul it out, put it in its own bag.
17:11 Do you want to do the honors?
17:12 No, man.
17:13 This is on you.
17:14 No, no, no.
17:15 You don't mind.
17:17 Okay.
17:18 Here we go.
17:24 Okay.
17:25 The pump's sucking up the oil.
17:26 Still not out of here.
17:27 Is it going across here?
17:28 Yep.
17:33 It's still flowing.
17:34 There we go.
17:35 Postcodes are still going.
17:36 We're out the other side in case of oil now.
17:38 Yep.
17:42 Yep.
17:43 Postcode 95, 62.
17:44 So those fans look fine.
17:45 9C A2.
17:46 I think A2 is a good sign.
17:49 Is this monitor on?
17:50 Yes.
17:51 Yes.
17:52 Yes.
17:53 Yes.
17:54 There it is.
17:55 Oh.
17:56 There's the oil part, whatever the part that was going to be the cleaning up part
17:59 to the mineral oil series.
18:01 We might have to move the air thing.
18:05 Which one now?
18:07 Remember?
18:08 You said moving the ...
18:09 Oh, moving the bubble maker?
18:11 Yeah, we're not going to do that.
18:12 If the bubble maker doesn't please me, then I will turn it off.
18:16 We'll see in a couple months.
18:18 I'll try to convince him if you guys want to.
18:19 I want another one.
18:20 All those bubbles are hiding under the power supply.
18:21 That looks funny.
18:25 Just chilling down here.
18:26 I'll try to convince him if you guys want to.
18:27 I want another one.
18:29 Just chilling down there.
18:31 It looks like a beta egg farm.
18:35 26 degrees Celsius.
18:39 All right, man.
18:44 Happy?
18:45 Yeah, this is pretty great actually.
18:49 Wait, the grid works.
18:51 Hey, are they all running?
18:54 Yeah, yeah, all the fans are running.
18:59 Completely forgot about that.
19:01 Yeah.
19:02 Oh yeah, the SSD will be fine.
19:03 No, I think he meant the one we split in half.
19:06 That was a dummy driver.
19:49 So we have officially built and posted
19:53 the oil-cooled machine.
19:57 It's kind of freaking awesome.
19:58 It brings a tear to my eye.
20:00 You didn't want to do it for a super long time.
20:02 And he was super like not okay with it
20:05 when he first started pouring oil.
20:07 But after a while, yeah.
20:09 Yeah, pour that oil.
20:12 Speaking of pouring oil,
20:13 we actually have a sponsor for today's episode, Phantom Glass.
20:16 So if you guys aren't familiar
20:17 with Phantom Glass already,
20:19 basically it's like mineral oil for your phone.
20:23 It is nothing like mineral oil for your phone.
20:25 It's okay.
20:26 It's mineral oil for your phone
20:28 in the sense that, remember the spots inside
20:30 that like, it made it so you couldn't see them.
20:32 Oh, yeah, yeah.
20:34 There you go.
20:35 Okay, Phantom Glass is made from gorilla glass,
20:37 just like the glass that's already on your phone.
20:39 It uses a nano material in order to make it
20:41 so there are absolutely no bubbles between it and your phone.
20:44 And because it's made of gorilla glass,
20:46 it is as strong as the glass that's already on your phone.
20:48 On top of feeling the same and being just as clear and because it's so thin you can actually use
20:54 Third-party protective cases for the rest of your phone as well
20:56 It really is the best screen protector that we have ever encountered over here
21:01 We're both like pretty strong advocates for phantom glass so big thumbs up
21:05 It never peels and you can take it off and reapply it if you want which actually came in handy for me when I had
21:10 To RMA my HTC one and eight so there you go. Thank you to phantom glass for sponsoring this episode
21:15 It's a store dot phantom glass calm if you guys want to check it out and other than that
21:20 I guess all that's left is
21:22 More teasers more teasers more teasers because we are going to do an episode four of mineral oil
21:28 We'll try not to have it take as long, but the machine is built. This is it
21:33 It's done, but what we still need to do is overclock this puppy
21:40 Because that actually is a much different conversation than an air-cooled computer because instead of figuring out
21:45 You know
21:45 Your average idle temperatures in like ten minutes. It's going to take a long time because you have to let all the oil hit
21:50 A mean temperature yeah, we'll have to figure out the temperatures under load. Yeah, blah blah blah yeah
21:55 There's a bunch of science that'll be done so pretty pretty excited
21:59 And of course we need to do some more glam footage of the finished machine just to show it off in all of its glory
22:04 So thank you guys for watching like this video if you liked it dislike it if you disliked it leave a comment if your feelings
22:09 Were more complicated than any of this as always there's a link in the video description to support us

22:25 Gallons of mineral oil or whatever else it is you buy from Amazon
22:29 No, I did not oh yeah, thanks again for watching and as always don't forget to subscribe
